Well known high end venue in Houston specializing in wild game with a posh hunting lodge feel. They also have a great wine list and good cocktails. Food & staff are always top notch.

The restaurant atmosphere and decor is very elegant but the food was mediocre. Ordered the chef Marks rhum and coke had good flavors, husband got the boulevardie it was a good sip but bar after taste. Order the filet very good and juicey added a side of lump crab and they did not remove all the shell, yuck. Nothing like biting into ahelll and cutting your tongue. My husband ordered the wild game, it is wild game for a reason. It tasted gamey, came out room temp warm wasn't all that impressed for the Amount of money you are paying.

We went for my husband's birthday. The food was amazing, the waitstaff were great. They even brought out a special dessert and signed birthday card for the occasion. All around a great experience. We'll definitely be back.

Not worth the price in my opinion. Ambience was kind of meh too...not worth what I paid.

Good food and staff...gets lower stars because your only option is to valet park and...well...it is Texas...and maybe we have a gun in our vehicle that no one needs to have access to. Just calling it like it is.

A nice cottage, Swiss-Alps-restaurant kind of look. Great wood beam interior. The menu is limited and modest, well performed though.

I would happily recommend this restaurant specifically for Christmas season dinner. It looks perfectly right, just add ... snow.

For other seasons the neighboring competition is harsh, so I would call it a bit overpriced, a bit remote and a menu - a bit too short.

I had the gumbo and elk. Absolutely loved it. The waiter did a great job. I don't know anything about wine and Marc the sommelier helped choose the right pairing for the gumbo and elk. I would definitely recommend this place.

Food and atmosphere are amazing. The wait staff and quality of food is what you expect from a restaurant of this caliber. If you are new to Houston this is a must stop! Hell if you are a local check it out as well.

It was out first time to Rainbow lodge. We were celebrating our anniversary. Our experience was truly exceptional. In our reservations we mentioned it was our anniversary. They had a special table setting for us, which made it very special. Not only that but they must have given us the best server. Bryan, if you read this. We truly appreciate your fantastic service. We highly recommend Rainbow Lodge

The monthly dinner is a must. Always good food, good variety, good wine. Nice evening for a bargain price.

This place inside and out is georgous and the food fits this place design with thw many options of meat that are glorious, the hamburgers especially the special Friday burgers are to die for. The pickels are an awesome blend of spicy and sour and delicious. The mustard is a spicy special. The chips that coke with the burger are like a homemaid chip they were very crispy and delish! Asparagus was awesome and spicy and risotto with parmesano was very tastey too. I can see why this place has been around for many years, and I hope it is more years to come as I plan to as well.

We had the perfect birthday dinner Friday night. Food, drinks, and service were all excellent. The outdoor patio was quiet, beautiful, and romantic, and the live music was a nice touch. The restaurant itself has a ton of space, so we felt distant enough from other diners. We'll definitely be back!

Very expensive, but out of the world ambiance and surrounding

Food was 8/10, decor was 9/10 with neat lodge feel. Service was average. The buffalo and venison was the best I've had. This sure is the place for wild game. In addition, the Smoked Duck Gumbo with Andouille was to die for. Reminded me of mom's home cooking. This app made set the standard for the whole meal.

Good valet service. Food was excellent and good for a new taste experience. The hand made Arnold Palmer was great.

The food was very bland we had to put salt pepper and add Tabasco to it to get sense of flavor. And for food that bland it was definitely over priced. The wait staff checked up us only to give us the menus and to take our order. It took us awhile to flag them down to get the Tabasco. The decor and patio was the best thing about it.

I wanted a quick casual dinner, and hubs picked a lot nicer. Well, I'm so glad he did because Rainbow Lodge was Awesome!
Cyrus was our waiter, and was very forthright about our possible menu, and drink selections. Something I truly appreciate. We had cocktails, and salads to start. All were delicious. The cocktails were tasty, and inventive. Salads were standard choices, but superb flavors. For the main course I had the mixed grill entree, and hubs had the bison filet special. Both were amazing. Topping the whole dinner off with bread pudding, and Mexican vanilla ice cream made the evening even more special since I rarely partake in dessert. A total WIN! We look forward to going again soon.

This is a great place and one of my favorites in Houston. The log cabin decor complete with fireplaces and animals is a nice change up for this area of town. I've only visited this place during lunch and the food and service has always been great. It's typically pretty quiet so this is a great place for a business lunch. During the spring it's really nice to sit outside on the patio.

Their specialties are wild game and seafood. On Friday they have a wild game burger special which is really good. The lunch menu specials change and I haven't had one I didn't like. It's a bit pricey but not excessive for a higher end restaurant. Highly recommend this place.

Lovely place to go have brunch or dinner. The atmosphere reminds of our favorite cabin in the Ozarks, and the food is succulently divine. We always try new things when we go and you just can't go wrong with anything here. Treat yourself to Sunday brunch on the deck or a romantic dinner.

My wife and I have only visited once. My meal, the Wild Boar Carnitas Tacos, I would not recommend (which is why I gave 4 stars); however, my wife's meal, the Braised Short Rib Grilled Cheese Sandwich, was absolutely delicious! Biscuits and muffins aren't too bad either!

Everything was perfect. Except they messed up my reservation, and the guy manager couldn't care less.!!

Very pleasant surprise. Visited when they first moved from the original Memorial area and SO disappointed. Birthday celebration took us back there last night and it was a whole new experience. Good food, AMAZING service. It's definitely back on our list!

Love this place. Interior is cool and the use of wild game like quail, venison and duck puts it on my have to go to list. Their brunch is excellent!

A special dining experience! Elevated menu filled with wild game selections, great cozy feel of a mountain cabin, superlative service.

I had lunch here on a chilly, rainy day. My experience started with valet parking-nice. We had a table with a wonderful view, which added to the relaxing atmosphere. I felt totally welcomed and relaxed. Our waiter was excellent and provided perfect service. Our food was delicious. We each had something different and each dish was totally yummy. The bread pudding for dessert was the perfect ending for our lunch. I am a frequent Houston visitor and have eaten at many Houston restaurants. Rainbow Lodge is one of my very favorites.

We really enjoyed the Antelope Loin, the Wild Game Plate, the Morel Mushrooms with the duck egg! We fish and hunt so this was our type of grub! Our service was great except the hostess stuck us at the very back at a 530 reservation and no one was there and we had no view for our first time and my husband's promotion dinner, I was stuck looking at a street! That really ticked me off since we are fine dining patrons at least 3 times a week. They could at least fill that up first, so no 5 star treatment will be blogged about this morning.

This place has wonderful, knowledgeable service, including more than one somalier. The menu is varied and includes wild game type dishes. Indoor and outdoor dining is available. The gardens are beautiful.

The ambience is wonderful, the service great, and the food very flavorful and fantastic. The fact that the bread pudding doesnt have raisins is a giant plus. Thank you for making our anniversary special.

I will start by saying that this place is simply beautiful and cozy! We booked a Sunday at 2pm for a family birthday! We were 5 adults and 2 children! The waitress began to rush us to order since the brunch menu ended at 3 and from there they closed the kitchen until 5! there we started badly! She asked us without telling a lie more than 5 times if we were ready to order and we still weren't! In view of that she called the manager who came up speaking Spanish when we were speaking English to him! as if we didn't understand her saying that that table was reserved for 5 o'clock and that we should move from another table next
to the bar ... to make a short story short we felt a lot of discrimination! they treated us super bad! Like when they want to kick you out of the restaurant because you don't have money ... in view of that we went to Brenners at the bayou so much better restaurant, they gave us time to drink and then eat and enjoy and we spent at least $ 800 of all the bottles of wine and food we consume .... they just lost a few good customers! I will never return to this place

A friend of mine and I decided to make Rainbow Lodge the first stop on our newly launched Crab Cake Crawl across Houston. The crab cake was delicious and plate presentation excellent!

What an unusual restaurant!! I love the old elegant fishing lodge feel and the exquisite food. They really go out of their way to make our dining experience the best. I had the amazing French toast!!

Serving gourmet meals for decades, y all should try this place for romantic rendezvous or family celebration

First time here. I've been hearing about it for years but just never had a reason to go until now. I had a great date night experience. Amazing company, food, drink, ambiance and Jeff (?) was great. All of his recommendations were on point. Unfortunately it had just rained and mosquitos were out in droves so we couldn't enjoy the outside view like we wanted.

Highly recommend this place.

The food and the service was great. I will go there again.

Decided to give it a try on our anniversary, the place was outdated, you could plainly see what renovations had been done each decade, the wait staff were not wearing standardized uniforms, they were wearing outdated t-shirts with different variations of the restaurant logo, the food was not worth it at the price point, the bread pudding we got to go was a joke, normally we will share a dessert but this was two three conservative bites and the ice cream was given to us in a tiny salsa style container. I feel needed to share my experience based on the rave reviews and cult following on social media. Hire an interior designer, get a uniform company to be in charge of attire, maybe it was an off night but we haven t been back since, it just doesn t feel like a nice restaurant.

I went here for one of the once a month dinners with wine pairing. Everything surpassed my expectations, the meat was cooked perfectly, and you could tell attention was put into every detail. I loved the rustic lodge atmosphere.

Great view, great food. Would have got 5 stars but the waiter brought us bread pudding (we did not order it, we thought he was coming back to give our check) and said happy Father s Day as if it was the house. They ended up charging our bill for the bread pudding.
