Have had an annual membership for years - firstly because I loved it here and now because the kids love it. Great escape in cold Canberra winters or rainy days. Nice and close to the lake for a picnic afterwards in Summer. Mini Q is fabulous for under 6's. During school holidays they limit this area to 45 minute sessions so there's plenty of time to play without being overcrowded. The changing exhibitions mean there's always something new to see and it's great fun for everyone. Check out Science Time for kids during the week too.

Great place to introduce kids to science and interesting for the adults too.
Allow 2-3 hours to see everything properly. There are 8 separate galleries to explore with different themes in each. Gallery 6 offers a good play area do young children to explore different concepts such as water, space, construction, cooking. Gallery 8 is for the older kids and adults with lots more cool displays to interact with.

Totally interactive and amazing. Everywhere you go there is something else to grab your attention and try. Every age is catered for even special places for vety little ones. Give yourself heaps of time!

Very good place for kids. The inside of the structure has tons of different rooms you can visit, like the room with the big moon and bean bags for you to sit on, the room where you can test how fast you throw a ball or shows that are full of different science experiments. There is a parking lot in front of the building. The best part is that there is a automatic robot which you can talk and whatever you do he copies you!!

I first went to questacon in primary school over 20 years ago. I still remember it and it had sparked the science interest in me and I m of many others.

Being your kids here. Schools tend to have excursions here with a Canberra trip.

Interesting but definitely catered towards children. I thought it would be akin to the Science Centre in Ontario, Canada and was a bit disappointed. Definitely a great place if you've got kids!

Perfect location for school holiday activities. All the displays are interactive, and engaging for small children up to teenagers. Staff were lovely and took the time to show the children extra displays. Wheelchair accessible, however only a few wheelchair parks available. Plenty of nearly parking if you are able to walk.

We were part of the 'Mission to Mars' tours that are Questacon's response to the coronavirus restrictions and safety requirements.

We had a fantastic couple of hours being led through different experiences and experiments. After or safety briefing, we traveled to Mars, seeing the relative change in size of the plants as we went. We stopped of at the awesome earth and experienced some of the differences between Earth and Mars including the atmosphere, quakes and a map. Then we went to the Q lab and saw some environmental impacts including the effect of a thinner atmosphere and ice made of carbon dioxide instead of water. Then we saw and felt how rocket fuel works and experienced a couple of different fuels. Then we walked under the 7m mars and experienced a sunrise.

There was plenty of hand sanitiser available and they had given serious thought to encouraging social distancing and limiting unnecessary contact. (Maybe a little bit more thought needed for the walk up the long ramp). I felt very safe taking my 8 and 4 year old along. It was also pitched well with my 8 year old and I both smoking questions and expanding our understanding of the red planet. We had a wonderful time and thank the diligent questacon staff for the experience.

My favourite place in Canberra. I learn so much each time I go.
Everyone needs to come here and do the free fall. it required adult as well as children to hang on a bar 10 meters high and then let go so that you can slide off.

Scary and fun at the same time.

Super busy, hard to get a go at any of the hands on exhibits unless you queued up. It seemed like it was overfull in most of the galleries with people bumping into each other. We were disappointed to find that mini q was fully booked out until 3pm - we arrived at 11am, there was no way our 2 yr old would last that long. The science show was great though, and kids enjoyed this part the most.

This place is awesome! I am now a member and as a SAHM I come here alot! Great fun for my 2 year old throughout the centre. We can spend a whole day here or just a quick drop in to visit MiniQ.
The staff are fantastic, really friendly, helpful and enthusiastic - they love what the do and it shows!
Memberships are really well price and worth it for parents.

Great place for kids at all ages. Having fun and learn science at the same time. You could spend a whole day here. For people live in Canberra, it is definitely worth to get an annual membership, it is great value and member lounge is a great place to have a break when you have young kids.

When my friend and I visited Questacon one Thursday morning, there were 3 classes of school kids which had assumed a position at nearly every exhibit station. It is a bother having to wait for a turn at everything. This place would be better to go to when there aren't so many kids, maybe on a weekend. Other than that the attractions were interesting, but also the same as many seen at Scitech in Perth, WA.

Highly recommended activity to do during any trip to Canberra. Love how interactive Questacon is, with lots of hands on experience. The new light exhibition is fantastic with lots of engaging experimental learning opportunities. Would love to see more high end science and technology demonstrations to inspire the next generation but I am sure this will with the push for STEM.
