Get yourself an annual pass for terrific value! Mini Q is fantastic for preschoolers, the upstairs rooms take ages to fully explore, and the members lounge includes bottomless Milo. Members get discounts at the cafe and shop, though you might want to go across to the Library for better coffee.

Have no kids (yet) but still come here with my partner. We love every section as it's a great interactive site, every display and area has great ways to explain science, even to big kids

Awesome place. Took kids (3 and 8months) and 3 loved all the exhibits, and mini q was an absolute ripper for both of them. Thoroughly enjoy. Another great surprise was the cafe was really good! Generally these types of cafes are an afterthought of bigger attractions but this was well set up with delicious meals and drinks and great service. Under 4 free, strongly recommend to anyone.

Fantastic fun and so much to learn. I've been coming here since I was a kid, so it's great to be able to take the little ones here. If you're in the capital with the kids, Questacon is a must.

Brilliant. It's only improved since I last came here over 20 years ago (you'd hope so!). You could easily spend half a day, or if you want to, longer. I really value the fact you can leave, then come back later in the day. Everything is hands on with plenty of staff to help you understand what it is you're actually learning. The staff who helped us were courteous and knowledgeable. I'll be back for sure. Great value!

Get lost for a few hours while investigating Science at its best. Hands on experience of numerous topics with something to interest kids from preschool to adults. Cafeteria with a comprehensive menu. Well worth the entrance fee.

All the fun you can have for kids and adult. So may after hours events for kids at heart and highly recommend going to any of them you can get to. I have been every one of them in the last 18 months and it has been magical.

So good! Great family day out - we showed up on a day that they had half price tickets too. So many fun things to do! Make sure you leave more than 2 hours for this so you can do it properly too :).

Love this place. Just joined up for a family membership. We are so fortunate to live in Canberra with this awesome science museum and amazing outdoor space just a short bus ride away! Every visit is exciting.

Every bit as good as Melbourne's Scienceworks, if not better. The kids had an absolute ball and the fact that they have rooms where exhibitions can change and that they have educated staff giving lectures at a small kids level means that our kids didn't want to leave.

The only negative would be that being a visitor to Canberra, we drove around the block twice before we worked out where the centre was, as signage was poor.

We have taken our kids here several times since the younger was around 18 months and so far they still really enjoy going (our latest trip included five kids up to age ten, who all enjoyed themselves for 4-5 hours). Many exhibits to delight the senses including earthquake simulation room, lightning chamber, musical exhibits, optical illusions, construction areas and more. Exhibits are in rooms stemming from a large open spiral ramp in the central atrium. Live science demonstrations and video presentations are available during the day. Kid zone aimed at ages 0-6 available for bookings and was delightful when our kids were small. Cafeteria on site on the ground floor is presentable and fairly efficent, serving a range of food including sandwiches, burgers, fries, salads (didn't try the coffee sorry!). If you expect to be here with your kids more than twice in the year, their annual pass is decent value and when we last had one it included reciprocal entry rights into similar attractions in other cities (which we used for Melbourne's and Wollongong's science museums when we had our pass).

Interesting place, the kids loved it. We were comparing it to scienceworks in Melbourne though and when compared, it was a bit of a let down. Very expensive and not really as high end as we expected but the displays and interactive systems were still very good. Worth a visit but like everywhere in Canberra, parking adds a lot more to the cost of the day. Cafe food was pretty ordinary and the gift shop was also very expensive, albeit extensive.

Our experience suffered heavily from the amount of school kids present during our visit. Nobody's fault though. It's a great place for kids to get a hands on experience about how things work and science itself.

Good for kids and very hands on with lots of things to demonstrate all sorts of scientific principles, but less so for adults. $70 for a family ticket is a bit steep. I'd have been inclined to perhaps drop the kids and check out the National Library, National Gallery or National Portrait Gallery which are all nearby.

What an amazing place! It's great for adults AND kids! The whole place is interactive and it's not only fun, you learn how it all works too! The centre piece is the GIANT moon! It was well and truly worth every dollar and I would highly recommend checking this place out!

With over 100 interactive exhibits, my time here was filled with amazement and joy. I felt like a child again. There was also a huge moon exhibit in the middle cylinder room. There was also a cloud chamber where you could view what clouds forming up close looks like.

I've spent the whole day there and could go again the next day. It is very interactive, fun and educational for the kids (and grown ups too). It was a bit busy, but the fact I went on a long weekend during school holidays and with the Floriade happening in the city could have a big contribution to it.

Spent 5 hours here today. With lunch. Excellent for the kids! Lots of things to do, lots of learning. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Food from the cafe was really good. Just love this place. Hadn t been here since I was a boy, so taking my own kids was nice. The Gravitram was still there!

Amazing place for the little minds to flourish and marvel at little science facts and phenomenon, as well as a great place to burn some energy!
The facilities are very well maintained and appear to refresh frequently.
The cafe is also surprisingly good.
I'm definitely getting the annual membership!
