Great time out for the kids. Adults don't get bored either. Staff are excited and engaged in the shows on ground floor. Easy 1/2 a day to be spent here. More if you do every activity.

Great day out for our family. So much to see and do. We also went to the cafe, and found everything reasonably priced and tasty. Was particularly impressed with the cake options.

Great place for families. Educational and fun. A ticket gives you access all day l, so if you want to go and come back you are welcome to. Beware of the gift shop... It's full of fun things for all ages and all budgets.

A decent place to visit with kids to spend a good couple of hours. There are dinosaur fossils, learning through games and entire periodic table with samples for each element. Currently a large beautiful moon on display in Gallery 8 to commemorate 50 years of first Moon landing.

Every child who grew up in Canberra and it's surrounds will have gone here at least once for a school excursion over the last 20 years.
Despite things changing and exhibitions coming and going this wonderful and extremely educational centre has never ceased to amaze and teach children with fun play based learning! Multiple rooms with different themes create never ending excitement and open children's minds to many different topics and encourages bravery, experimentation and they ll maybe even face their fears in a safe environment.
It's impossible to not learn something here.
The staff are extremely helpful and the excited particles and their live shows are so fun to watch. There are multiple toilets and changerooms throughout the centre and seating. There is a cafe with adequate indoor and outdoor seating with enough fun things around to keep children entertained while you enjoy your coffee. The shop has so many fun things to buy plus smaller toys that aren't too expensive if you need a souvenir to remember your day! It can become quite pricey if you have a larger family who want to have lunch and buy something from the shop but all great things can cost money and I think it's well worth it for a treat every few months. Enjoy your day and then go enjoy a packed lunch down by the lake afterwards instead if your budget is tight.
They also have adults only evenings and we just attended their mid-winter festival where their flashing fairy floss was a hit.

Great place to spend the day, especially with kids. There are a whole heap of activities that will cater to the nerd in you. Just be sure to have some patience while trying to find a parking spot. Dont forget to try 'Freefall'.
During the Easter break, it was a nightmare and it took us almost 10-15 minutes to find parking.

Lots of informative and scientific things around! Came here for the temporary Spiders exhibition which was amazing! Very clean, beautiful and the permanent science exhibition was interesting for children too. Only problem was the waiting time to buy tickets back in Winter 2016, but we had enough time to visit, so I didn't mind.

Went with nieces and nephews, was a good place to find out facts about the natural and amazing world we live in. I went when i was younger and I found not much has changed, as in the way its run. Wouldve loved to see more interaction from the workers, the place lacks passion, enthusiasm. Overall, its good for a one time visit.

So fun!

"Every year 6 student thinks this [Questacon] is the highlight of their Canberra excursion."
-Some lady who works as a tour guide at the Parliment House 2016.

It is a really cool place and I have been there 3 times already and it isn't just for children! The freefall slide at Questacon is pretty cool. You feel like you are floating when you are going down the slide and you have this strange weightless feeling in your legs for a few minutes!

If you have kids and visiting Canberra, this place is a must. Every floor has different theme. Spare some time to visit all. Also there are special shows throughout the day that can't be missed. Can be crowded during school holidays or long weekend. Parking is easy, only need to pay. There is a cafe selling limited quick bite. To enjoy everything, at least spend half day here.

Went here as a kid and thought it was cool, can gladly say it is much more interesting and you appreciate this place alot more as an adult! Recommend to check it out when you're in Canberra.

The new galleries are very dark and have lots of bright lights and busy noise. My stepson felt very overwhelmed at times during our visit, and I don't think it was as pleasant a visit as when I was last here (~7 years ago). The amount of noise, flashing lights and inadequate lighting at times made it very difficult for my stepson to learn anything new, despite being very interested in science generally.

Great place specially for children. They have a lot of activities for younger kids as well although it is perfect for children over 7-8. I'd definitely recommend it to any family visiting Canberra.
