The worst lab experience ever. Jam packed been here 2 hours. Couldn't get a morning appointment for weeks (and even then none were available until 9:45am) and I'm fasting so I wanted an early appt. so I'd starve less. I walked in 40 minutes ago I was going to leave but the girl said I was next. One person after another kept getting called. The girl said appointments kept coming in. What!!! So if you're a walk-in as long as appointments keep coming in you keep waiting...forever. How about interspersing a walk in every 4th or 5th appointment! Something in their system is not working right. Again she told me I'm next and again several names were called. The computerized waiting screen could be a stress reliever much like Google Maps is when showing you how long the traffic jam is. I mean you can know your progress. Thats why they have the screen. Except the screen messes with your mind. Initially it said I was 30 minutes. Bummer but okay. Then it gone down to 13 minutes, cool. Then most of the names disappeared. The guy said it's because they collected my paperwork. No...been in other offices and my name didn't fall off the screen. So it's not just waiting forever this process messes with your mind and doesn't allow you to make proper decisions like leaving and figuring something else out. Lastly, the girl that came to work the desk must have said out loud to the room "I just got here, I'm trying my best" 10 times and after 45 minutes she was still saying it. She finally made a loud stressed out statement to the room that she just got there and was trying to fill paperwork out but couldn't if people keep coming up to me. Kind scolded us. Several people got disgusted, raised their voice and walked out. It was miserable and a mad house. Never again. From now on I will go to LabCorp next, who happens to have much better reviews. Aaaggh.

They charge Medicare patients $241 for a vitamin D test and they make you sign a form that you will pay for it if Medicare doesn t cover it. What they don t tell you us that if you didn t use your Medicare you could pre-pay a mere $69 for the exact same test. Sound like they are overcharging Medicare patients to me.

I've had a lot of blood draws for myself and my 94 year old mother in law, and they have been outstanding! And I start getting anxious just knowing what they are doing! All the techs have been wonderful

A young admin gal wrongly turned us away convinced they no longer took our medical group. I went upstairs to another lab rather than argue: big mistake!
The fellow there in a hurry fouled up my daughter's blood draw -multiple sticks all came up dry- even as I cautioned him that she is very afraid of needles. Misery.

The gal (Lydia?) back at Quest, once I got them to properly check the order, took great calm care of my hyper-ventilating child. Quick easy draw! Now that's experience for you.

Won't go anywhere else.

Walk-ins don't bother save your time. Now when the websites says walk-ins still acceptable don't treat them like I've done something wrong. I was told I needed an appt, was almost turned away, told sign in, I'd have to wait in my car until or maybe I'd get texted to come give blood but not guaranteed, he was very Rude about it. Yes, I got a little upset when I was told you aren't taking walkins, so you may want to update your information that you don't accommodate at all ! Early appts are not easy to get. That is NOT what website says or automated phone call. 1 person said I couldn't come in without an appt, another gives the talk about possible not be able to do my bloodwork because I'm a walk in and 3rd front desk was extremely nice ( reason for 2nd star) and said the appts come first ( which they have always done in past months prior to covid) then walk-ins. Please have everyone on the same page. Your early appts are rarely ever available which is why I've ever just done walk-ins.

The Newport facility is clean and the service was quick. Naomi drew blood for me. She was pleasant and professional, and painless. I arrived at 7:30am, a standard CBC blood draw was $56, my wait time was 10 minutes, parking was easy.

I understand why this location has such a low score.
I tried to get some labs drawn for a research study for the Mayo clinic and I would FedEx them out afterwards. I had the paperwork, but they refused and refused to try to find a solution. They are not interested in patients they are interested in profits.

Have no clue what they are are doing. Technician gave me incorrect home specimen kits for 3 days of collection. 2nd technician provided the incorrect collection instructions. 6 days of specimens that were just thrown away due to incompetence. Don't go to this lab!

Such a great experience. I found out I was pregnant earlier this week and needed to get blood work 48 hours apart. Saturdays are super busy bc not many quests are open. And right now with covid the earliest appointment I could make wasn t til end of next week. HUGE SHOUT OUT TO TONY!!! So refreshing to have such a kind helpful gentleman directing everyone in the waiting room. I told him I was pregnant (they usually reserve the first hour for over 60, pregnant and underlying conditions) and I had to get to work. He moved me to the front of the line. I observed his interactions with all of the people in line and was just blown away by his kindness and positive attitude (even the grumpy people). I m very grateful for kind people like Tony. I actually left the quest in seal beach and drove here because the line was so long and no one would answer my questions.

Worst experience for a blood draw that I've ever had. I came here on a Saturday morning to do a 3 hour glucose test and was pricked multiple times because they couldn't find a vein. When they did find a vein (without a glove) the needle came OUT and I received bruises on both arms.

The front staff is very rude and rude to other patients. I was disturbed by the front clerk when he told a patient to shut up and stop talking to him. I recommend going to another Quest Lab in the area.

The worst customer service, company wide. There does not seem to be a way to actually speak with a human being. The phone number on the prescription form is always busy, the local number is forwarded to a corporate "phone answer system". Your need to search deep to find a customer service number, which is still a voice mail system, and then the recommendation is: call your Doctor.

What company can survive without a phone number; this company is just to big, with way to much business sent there way. There needs to be more competition.

This is the second time I come for lab work. Both times without an appointment. The first time I sat for about 2 hours for my turn. Second visit, I walked in and out in under 15 minutes. I won't tell you It was a friendly staff or unfriendly staff. You walk in and sign yourself in onto an iPad, a screen places your name on a cue that shows on a tv monitor while you watch tv. Staff will call you so you can give them your lab order and insurance card and you sit back down. The tv tells you how much time before you are up and it is updated the whole time. Staff takes your info and you make your payment, they draw your blood, they verify it's you and your done.

The staff was rude and locked me out of the office. After I signed in, I was informed the wait was over an hour. I asked the staff if it was ok for me to step out for a phone call. They said as long as I was back inside before 5pm. I came back at 4:55pm and the door was locked. I knocked repeatedly and could hear people inside, but they never allowed me back in.

Incompetent employees. Knowing that many people need to fast for the blood tests, and many have to work during the week, they never have morning appointments available. They staff the office with one person who opens late, is running around frantic, with 20 people that have no other choice but to walk in . People were waiting for more than 30 minutes just for them to open the door. Five minutes later, not one person had their blood drawn. The electronic information board showed a 45 minute wait with just 6 people registered. How do they not staff for peak times? I decided to leave rather than stay in a waiting room for 90 minutes with dozens of sick people. Ridiculous! I d pay more to use anyone but Quest. For those advocating for socialized medicine, Quest is the preview.

I walked in and signed into a mounted iPad tablet then waited 15 minutes. They took me right to the chair and took 11 vials of blood in about another 15 minutes. This was a pretty good experience as far as Quest locations go.

A 1 Star for the appointment system. Not fair for walk-ins who do not have 6 months notice to schedule an appt time. There are many elderly people who are fasting who cannot afford to be bumped off for an hour for the appointments. A better system is needed for early hours like more staff. Front desk staff wasn t very pleasant either.

WARNING! They close early whenever they want!!

WARNING! They close early whenever they want!!
Horrible experience! I had 15 month twins who needed their hemoglobin tested. They supposedly close at 5pm. The first time I came I showed up at about 4:45 and was surprised to find the door locked. I had left work early to go get my twins and get back in time to get their blood done, and they would not open the door. I went to the pharmacy next door and the woman there told me they FREQUENTLY lock the doors early and leave. I was mortified. I came back the next week in the middle of day and the service seemed okay, however I had identical requests for both of the twins and on one of the twins they ran the WRONG TEST, forcing us to get a new order and come back again. Drawing blood on babies isn't easy and it's atrocious that we had to go back a third time due to this incompetence. If you have the option (we no longer do with the HMO), go to West Pacific across the parking lot. They are amazing always.

The phlebotomist was so incompetent. He dug around looking for my vein. The result: pain for 3 weeks after his point of entry. It was a young guy. Beware!!!!!! If only it was possible to give negative stars.

Very very poor experience. Employees told me to leave because the office was full at 15 min to closing. So I waited outside for a minute after taking their message. As I waited, they let two more people in within that 1-2 min time. So I went back into the office to inquire if I was still able to wait and as they were trying to look the doors early they told me those people wouldn't be seen due to the hour+ wait time. So I sat for 10 minutes to see if the newly entered people would exit based on the employees message to me.... they didn't. Bottom line: Don't just blatantly lie to patients about the ability to be tested because you're busier than normal and then go back on your word and let others in.

Read the other reviews because they're all somewhat similar. Don't come here within an hour of closing and don't expect this place to have great service.

I wish I could give this place ZERO or a negative no. I went to this place last Saturday 10 minutes before closing (11:50 am) and they had already closed the doors. I knocked and begged them to open to just let me drop off a stool specimen. They ignored. I had already registered at a different location earlier in the week where I was given stuff to collect specimen in 3 days and bring other specimen the day collected; so I had to give that to them Saturday especially since it was a long holiday weekend. 4 other people came after me who were all under impression the place is open as stated on the website. The next door pharmacist who was the witness advised me use LabCorp on the 2nd floor, but I had to drop that off at Quest. After lots of knocking finally at 12:05 someone screamed from inside that they close at 12. Daaa...I was there 10 minutes before closing! Finally I called the customer service and someone from main office called and they still refused to open the door on me...and even worse, they LIED that the place was open till 12! In fact they didn't even answer phone calls since 10am (I have records). Finally I ended up going straight to one of their drop off labs in Orange that was 45 min away. All and all I wasted 4-5 hours just to drop off specimen. That was the time I could have spent withy family or worked overtime earning at least $100/hr (my hourly rate). I hope that they fire all the people at this location, or else I would not be going here again!

I really don't want to give any star of this place. The receptionist is rude. The wait is long. I didn't know that I should make an appointment so i just walked in. They told me the wait is 1 hour but I ended up waiting for 2 hours . When I called back, there is no option of for talking to any body but the machine. I would never go here again.

Receptionist needs an attitude adjustment. Very curt and condescending to everyone. I came in 7:50 (thought they took over 55 years old patients first at 8:00 -- turns out it was 6 AM.) I said I had a 11:45 appt but since I was there, I signed in as a walk -in. The screen said 10 min. wait. The lobby soon filled with a lot of people who had appointments. At 8:15 I asked a woman who had been waiting before I got there if she was a walk-in and she replied since 7:10AM. I asked the receptionist if the sign- in msg said 10 mins was accurate, because a lady had been waiting over an hour. I asked her if I would be taken in order or did I have to wait until all appointments had been met. She said yes I had to wait. She didn't offer to look where I was in the wait list. I cancelled my walk in and said I'd come back at 11:45 appt. since I had to get to work. When I logged in to my email at work, at 8:40, it said they were ready for me as a walk-in -- at 8:23, about 4 mins after I left! I have to leave work and make another round trip. Terrible customer service.

I was seen an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment time. This office is poorly run.

Go to LAPCORP if you can. My experience has been that lapcorp runs on schedule, and they have polite and efficient office staff.
