Quality 1st Basement Systems Review

Was deciding between these guys and another company and it looks like I made the wrong decision. They called me today and rescheduled me for 1 month longer which affects my pool closing and patio installation. Being that the work they promised to do by the 17th goes around the pool the other 2 projects are put on hold or I have to cancel and Quality 1st offer Quality last as a resolution. Update, just passed a quality 1st truck doing concrete raising down the road from my other house. Pretty crazy truck is doing good for being broke

We hired quality 1st basements to install their water guard system in our basement. They were on time and did great work. We have a finished basement so I was a little nervous knowing they would have to drill down to install. It looks like nothing ever happened in our basement. They cleaned up after themselves and took the time to explain everything to us. They have a lifetime warranty on their work and are reasonably priced.

ANOTHER GREAT SERVICE!!! Quality 1st Basement has an incredible Triple Safe sump pump system which I've had installed over 10 years. It's one of the best home investments I've ever made and highly recommend the system.

Our basement carried a lot of moisture and the paneling and wood we had installed was warping and was getting moldy we contacted quality first and Laura who came was very thorough and explained everything and they installed these beautiful walls that has a moisture barrier behind them and keeps the moisture out of the basement they are perfect they did a fantastic job and I highly recommend

On 10/22/19 Collin Peare was at my home to do the annual maintenance on my Quality 1st basement waterproofing system and SaniDry dehumidifier. As I've come to expect, Collin did an excellent job. He was extremely thorough and professional. He fully tested both systems when he was done and ensured they were working perfectly before he left. When he left, his work area was as clean as it was when he arrived.

On 7/18/17 Collin Peare was at my home to perform annual maintenance on my basement waterproofing system and dehumidifier. Collin did an excellent job. He was very thorough and professional. He ensured my system was working perfectly before he left. I will be requesting Collin for my next annual maintenance.

Great service and working crew. Victor L., Fransisco, Esaul and trainee were awesome! They were prompt, professional, meticulous, efficient, clean and friendly. They clearly worked to exceed expectations and I'm happy with the results. We had the waterproofing job that consisted of: WaterGuard, Triple Safe Pump and EverLast wall panel systems in a roughly 300 sq ft area. Time will tell if the system will work well but having witnessed the installation, I'm confident it will. I can enjoy my basement now.

We have been with this company for over 11 years. The house is old and was getting water in basement. That is not a problem anymore due to Quality 1st Basements. We have an annual contract that puts our mind at ease, knowing that the people they employ, especially Randy, are knowledgeable and able to explain any concerns or issues and go above and beyond expectations. Dan Gorrell was the company's point person for my basement job and Eric was the job site foreman. Both were so pleasant to work with, professional, caring and really wanting the work to be the best it could be.

Very professional upon arrival, they show us pictures of our sum pump before working and after maintenance. Very thorough in their work!

Iian and his crew did a great job on our leveling our concrete pool deck. He went through everything with me in detail and even kept me updated on their progress. Extremely professional and great to work with. Our inground pool deck is now safer to use with no trip hazard! Thank you.

Please avoid this company. I believe they should send out one of the workers along with the salesman. The salesman took my deposit then sent out workers, the workers tore apart my basement and then said they cannot do the job and left me just like that. I guess I will see them in court. Do not use this company please.
Now the salesman whom I thought was a very nice guy at first (Mike) won t answer my calls after the destroyed my basement and did not complete the job .

Justin from Quality First Basement did a fantastic job servicing my sump pumps. He and his coworker were both professional, timely, and knowledgeable. During this current state of the COVID -19 pandemic it was a little nerve wracking having someone come into our home but Quality First had masks and gloves on and did a great job cleaning up after the job was complete! In January 2020 we had a permanent free standing dehumidifier installed in our basement-We were very pleased with the professional workmanship of the installers-Recently the water pump failed to pump the water out-I called Quality First Basements and they sent a service technician Justin Williams - He immediately zeroed in on the problem (which was a loose connection of a hose) fixed it (with no service fee)and was gone - Justin was very professional and knowledgeable- He called to let us know that he was on his way, arrived wearing a mask and gloves and went right to work-This to me is what true service is all about-

the crew arrived on time at 9:00 A.M. and finished by 5:30 P.M.

All furniture and miscelaneous items were completely covered and protected with tarps and tape or moved to an enclosed area.

The crew of five worked as a totally coordinated group with no wasted time between the water guard project and the new flooring.

They were very responsive to questions and took the time to make sure we understood.Their professionalism made a challenging task look easy.

We couldn`t be more satisfied with the quality of the work or the value.!!

SUPER PROFESSIONAL! We specifically requested Thomas Perry, as we were totally impressed
with his attention to detail from last year s maintenance service call. We kept his postcard on our refrigerator as a reminder to ask for Thomas. He took photos of all the stages of his work, so we could see what are sump pumps looked before and work completed. Checked all French Drain Systems, sump pumps and our Sanidry Dehumidifier. I recently purchased a new house and had my flooded crawlspace redone by 1st Quality Basement Systems about 2 months ago. It was a pretty huge job but they were able to finish it in just one day with beautiful results. A few weeks later there was a small issue with the sump pump which set off the alarm, notifying me that there was a problem. I called the company and they had a technician out to me the same day within a few hours. He was very friendly and was able to fix the problem right away. Other than that, everything has been working great and my crawl space looks better than ever. Definitely chose the right team for this job!

We had a great experience with Quality 1st. The consultant, Kenny, was through and very patient in explaining the process. He even came back after we signed the contract to answer more questions that we had thought of. The installation team was also great - and very fast! I would definitely recommend them. Diss

Absolutely terrible job, these people do a piss poor job and charge a tremendous amount for nothing, the entire foundation of my house is chipped up and looks awful. Don't recommend this company to anyone. They should rename their company Quality Last, since the put the quality of their work as a last priority, and money 1st.

Work on my home is being handled with attention to detail, the quality of craftmanship is outstanding. Have read reviews with diffrent opinions but As far as im concerned to my jobsite its going perfectly.

After bailing out our basement after the last torrential rain we had, we finally decided to waterproof it so we wouldn't have to do it again. After our first experience with a rival company and all the games they played, you know, changing the price 3 times, constant calls etc., our son and daughter in-law told us about Quality1st Basements. They had their basement waterproofed a couple months ago and were very pleased with Ken Peare and crew. We met with Ken and were very impressed with what he proposed and the no nonsense estimate he gave us. Our contract which included waterproofing the basement, two new lolly columns and insulating our crawl space came in at a very reasonable price, lower than just the waterproofing the first company gave us even after their lowering the price three times. Need I say, we were not happy with the games they were playing....

The first phase of the project, the crawl space, was scheduled just 3 days
after signing the contract. We were very pleased with the out come. They finished before the promised time, everything was clean, neat and so professionally done. I cannot recommend them more. I am looking forward to working with them again to complete the work.

They know our circumstances and are willing to work around our schedule.

Quality First Basement has been reliable each time we call them and come over right away. They always seem to know what the issue is and provide an immediate remedy. We had Quality 1st install an upgraded sump pump, and we also signed up for the annual maintenance contract. The sump pump has operated as intended, and the inspections have caught problems before they became serious. Today, the technician arrived early (called first), which was welcome. He performed his work promptly, left the area clean, and reviewed the details with me. Count us completely satisfied.

They were an hour late to our appointment and they were very expensive for very sloppy work.

I had water in my basement after 30 years of no water. I spoke to a friend about it and she said this is the company that did her basement. The workmanship was amazing, no mess. The workers knew what they were doing. Since then, they service my sump pump and humidifier every year. I am a Realtor and have recommended this company several times to customers. They all thanked me after their problems solved.

I couldn t be more pleased with how Quality 1st Basement handled my problem. We have an area in our home on a slab consisting of 2 rooms and a hall. Over the years the center of the area, which is 22 X12 , dropped about 2.5 inches, and less at the foundations. I had contractors in who wanted to tear the floor up, others that wanted to put leveling cement down, and some who had no idea.
Then I found Quality 1st Basement. Jeff came, spent almost 2 hours with us walking us through the PolyLEVEL process, and answering all our questions and concerns. We contracted the next morning, and scheduled the job for 2 weeks out.
The 2-man crew just came. They explained the procedure, what they were going to do, and how, and answered all my questions. Then they suggested how to proceed based on issues that cropped up. In less than 3 hours they were done, including clean up. The floor is now completely level, done quickly, at a fraction of the cost of other alternatives.
Jeff, the crew, and the office were great and did a wonderful job. I would highly recommend Quality 1st Basement.

If you're looking for a water remediation service, we're pleased to recommend Quality 1st. Our basement had been flooding on a regular basis, something that had become more extreme thanks to our town's paving projects. We explored numerous options, but ended up being impressed with Quality 1st's willingness to discuss EVERY aspect of the job (including the location of the discharge line that had to travel beneath two sidewalks to reach the street).
We can't say enough positive things about the work that was performed. Luis Aguirre and his crew spent two days on our property -- demoing walls, installing a french drain system, sump pump, and new window wells (as well as the aforementioned discharge line). They were courteous, considerate and knowledgeable. It's an understatement to say that they were hardworking. The backbreaking labor they accomplished was extraordinary (so much so that we were concerned for their welfare). Quality 1st should be proud to have such devoted, exemplary employees.

After losing power during the recent tropical storm, I noticed my battery backup sump system wasn t working. I called Quality 1st and Marisa promptly returned my call. Within 3 hours, Randy showed up, diagnosed the problem and had it repaired within an hour. Excellent service again! The utility companies should take a lesson in customer service and prompt response and repair. Still no peer or phone, but sump is up and running. Thanks Randy!

The installation crew was great. They were very professional. They covered everything that need to be covered from the dust and warned me to close the vents to prevent the dust from traveling to the other rooms. Once they were done they cleaned up. I think they cleaned up my basement better than what i left for them which was a pleasant surprise. The crew was quick and answered all my questions.

The office staff was accommodating as well with appointments as well as the first initial visit from John. He was patient and answered all my questions. Actually he came out twice. It took me a year to make up my mind.

Troubleshooted for root cause and clearly explained what was causing pump issue. I called Quality 1st Basement Systems when I needed a sump pump and French drain installed in our new home. We had water pushing in on our foundation causing structural shifting, and knew we needed some type of corrective measure. Kenneth Peare came to our house and did a full evaluation. He did a great job educating my wife and I about the issues we were facing, and what was needed to appropriately correct the condition. Ken was extremely professional, organized, knowledgeable, and friendly. My favorite concept with Quality 1st is their pricing system. All of their pricing is laid out as a cost per foot quote including labor and materials. Other contractors would eye our house up and we felt were inflating their costs per labor based on what they thought we would pay/afford. With Quality 1st, you pay for what you get, opposed to paying what your contractor thinks they can get.

On the day of construction, the contractor in charge of our operation (Melvin) was awesome! He came right on time, respected my home, and was in and out in just a few hours. Melvin laid down thick blankets so his crew would not walk on our hard wood floors, took all of the waste concrete out through my basement windows to stay out of our house, and cleaned up the work site to a state better than how he found it.

Melvin and Ken were fantastic gentlemen to work with, and don't deserve the "Contractor" label because this project went smoother then I could have anticipated! Thanks again Quality 1st Basement Systems, mission accomplished, and I plan on using you to start finishing our basement in the near future.

We recently had our basement water proofed by quality 1st basement systems and we love it! Bob and Juan made the whole process easy and painless. Being first time home buyers it was quite frustrating when our basement started to flood just 2 months after moving in. But with this team it was simple and easy! We had the pricing the same day they came out for the evaluation and from there everything was a breeze. Our basement was done in just one day with awesome results. So far it's been 1 month with lots of rain and our basement has be 100% dry and clear of water!!

I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that Nick Biris is a good Representative of your company. Nick was very professional and detail oriented. He began his presentation by explaining the attributes about the company. He was very enthusiastic when discussing the company s history and the products. I have had several Representatives come to my home who also knew about their company and the products for which they were presenting. However, there was something different about Nick he gave me the impression that he really believed in the products that he was presenting.

Nick sat down and began to ask me questions about the problems I was having in the basement. He wasn t pushy he did not rush me. If I asked any questions he answered without hesitation. I was almost sold just by his attitude, keeping in mind that I have had several people over the course of a couple of years take a look at my basement. He also used a laser to determine the lowest level in the basement to place the System. I was truly captured with Nick s knowledge and demeanor. Nick came prepared. He had his computer and printer ready for business. He told me in detail what to expect the day of installation. I purchased the TripleSafe Sump Pump and am currently satisfied with the system.

Steve Roldan was an excellent salesman. He is friendly and he truly cares. We had two issues after install, and Steve was sure to answer my calls after hours and begin the process of having the crew come back and remedy the issues for us. Zack and his install crew were friendly and made sure they cleaned up after themselves adequately. Not the cheapest company, but it really seems like they care- and that is important to my family and I.

I have used Quality first for several projects. They are amazing. My basement had serious issues and is now dry as a bone. Today I had an issue with a pipe installed outside. Randy arrived and fixed it immediately. He was so courteous and professional. Especially during this covid time. Michael from Quality 1st was extremely helpful. I thought that my utility/laundry room was leaking because of the rain but he discovered that it was the sewer pipe and it may be an easy fix from a plumber. The last two companies that came to look at my leak wanted to take apart my entire basement to see if they could identify the problem which would have cost thousands of dollars. Thank you Michael!

I rarely write reviews, but I felt the need to write this one. After reading the highly rated reviews of Quality 1st Basements, I called them on a Sunday to set up an appointment. The operator was extremely friendly, took down the details of the water issue in my basement and immediately set up an appointment with me for the following week. The inspector called the day before to confirm the appointment. He showed up on time the next day. Unfortunately, that is where my contentment ceased. When the inspector showed up he made a cursory review of the area of the basement where the water was coming in (2 feet in length) and of the outside. There was no inspection or discussion as to what was causing the problem. Instead, I was told that once water issues start in the basement, they only get worse. There was seemingly no regard for my comment that we've never had water in 20 years in the house that we built. Something had to change recently.

Instead, he showed me a video of the product that Q1 sells (i.e., a drain and a sump pump that requires the breaking of the slab with cementing over the drain)--a product that seems to be the answer to all water issues that come in from the foundation wall. I was told that they would need to remove the sheet rock in the pertinent area, cut my studs and then they could provide a composite wall or I could have a contractor come in to fix the walls. The size of the pump I was shown was way over sized for my issue. (I happen to be an engineer so I was able to see this immediately.) And even though water was contained to a 2 foot area in only 1 part of the basement, the inspector suggested I install the system around the perimeter of the house since there would only be a warranty on the part of the basement where the system was installed. The estimate was for approximately $2,400 for 1 wall. The next day I had A1 Waterproofing (out of Haledon) come in to assess the issue and give me an opinion as to what needed to be done. After removing a small portion of the sheetrock, Roland realized that there was a hole in the concrete poured wall that was never filled by the builder. (Tar had been washed away ovre time.) He mixed some hydraulic concrete right there and filled the hole. Needless to say, the price was minimal in comparison to the Q1 estimate. Call Roland at American A-1 Waterproofing. As he told me when he was looking for the problem: "I will treat your house as if it were mine." That is what you want when water seeps into your basement.

I have a crawl space with a vapor barrier and commercial grade de-humidifier that Quality 1st Basements installed for me in 2017. The sales team and maintenance teams are phenomenal. They do not oversell, but listen to the needs of the customer. Their knowledge, support and consideration of my home was all taken into account. My crawl space under my addition has remained dry and mold free since the installation. When I call for service the schedulers are pleasant to speak to. Any emergency is dealt with first available appointments and mutually agreed to. I just had Justin Williams, service technician out to my home. Although his height was a concern, if he could actually get into my crawl space. Justin's positive "Can Do" approach dispelled this concern immediately. He diagnosed the problem in minutes. Made sure the issued was fixed and the unit was working as designed. He went the extra mile to make sure every square foot of my crawl space was reviewed and dry before closing it up. His knowledge, proactive, positive approach to servicing my crawl space in its entirety was exceptional service. I can't thank him and the service team, beginning with Marisa enough for scheduling my service, reviewing my contract and sending out the right technician to solve my maintenance situation. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND QUALITY 1ST BASEMENTS. They have a team of people with whom have integrity, confidence, knowledge and ongoing customer service even after the sale.

Our technician Justin was very well educated on all of the issues that we may be having in our basement. He knew exactly what needed to be done to help solve our issues. Hopefully all of the work done will help solve our moist basement issues. Quality 1st seems to have very well informed technicians and have warrantees for the work that they do.

I had a WaterGuard drain system and new sump pump installed in my unfinished basement, and am extremely pleased that I chose Quality 1st to do the work. Juan and his team arrived on time, and they were all friendly and hard working. When they finished the job, Juan made sure I understood the new system and was patient with my questions. A few days later, when something needed adjusting in the pump to eliminate vibration noise, Justin was sent out promptly. He was also very friendly and knowledgeable, quickly finding and fixing the problem. I also want to give a "shout out" to the booklet that arrived by FedEx before the work was done -- "Dry Basement Science" -- which is full of great information (and is quite entertaining to read). Thumbs-up to Quality 1st, I would recommend them.

All the workers were polite, professional. My home is older with pipes and such being orginal to the house. So they had to work with a plumber, electrician, local water company. Very happy with their workmanship.

This company is amazing!! Mike Fiorillo went above and beyond. He was so helpful and answered every question i had (which was a lot). The crew that came out and did the work was great, better then any work i have had done before. I would recommend this company to everyone.

I believe I payed way more than I was told in the quote. And didn't really have a choice but to pay since there were big ass holes in my basement floor and the project wasn't fully completed yet once I was told it was going to cost more.. Had a talk with a few other companies and I believe I probably didn't need to get it done to the extent of what was done. Plus what you quoted to put a simple sump pump in and fix a leak after getting thousands upon thousands in foundation repair was beyond ridiculous and I got it done for a fraction of the price by someone else and it's working great. Will never use your company again, take care.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We used them to finish our basement and regret it. They are very quick to respond when it comes to giving an estimate but once you book, what should have taken 2 weeks took 2 months. My wife would have to physically go downstairs every hour and "check in" to see what they had done. It wasn't until our basement recently flooded that we realized how terrible they are. Once again, they came out very quickly to give the estimate to replace the flooring they had just installed, we gave our deposit, they deposited it that day. Then....nothing. Called everyday for a week and was told someone would be calling shortly to schedule and only ONE person could schedule this job. We finally threw our hands up and said no, we aren't dealing with this again. We starting calling other basement finishing companies and it wasn't until they all, individually, without conferring with one another, saw the basement.... that we realized was a disaster our job Quality First had done. Nothing and I mean nothing is even. Things are unfinished that we didn't even realize should have been. Seems are left open, our whole ceiling is slanted. It's so upsetting and can only hope we can prevent someone else from making the same mistake we did. Do your research, don't listen to their sell. Their products are not incredible. They aren't unique. Their work is terrible and you will be soooo stressed dealing with them.

Justin was very courteous, efficient, and professional. He quickly diagnosed the situation and provided sufficient information to help move forward and resolve the dehumidifier issue in our basement.

Quality 1st Basement customer care/services are excellent. As a new home buyer I will definitely recommend this company to others. They expedited a service tech "Justin" to fix a problem. Unfortunately some items needed to be replaced however Justin advised he had the replacement parts inside the van and would be able to start right away. This is true customer service most companies would have you wait or order parts but Justin advised they keep their vehicles stock so there isn't any delay for repair. Justin also indicated we can request him for future services since we are happy with his services. I have worked in customer service and happy to see this company practice making customers completely satisfied. Five Stars

Jeff Neiro was extremely easy to deal with and explained the whole process in detail. He is very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable in going with Quality 1st Basement Systems. I actually got another quote from another waterproofing company and they gave me a cheaper quote than what I paid with Quality 1st Basement. I chose those company because of the confidence Jeff presented with his product and the customer service is 2nd to none. Very attentive and friendly. The crew was very professional and did the whole job in about 5 hours, less than a day. I highly recommend this company for anyone that wants a guaranteed waterproofed Basement.

Quality First has innovative products and outstanding personnel! They provided our family the dry basement we'll need in order to enjoy the space as we've envisioned using it.
Kenneth Peare, the design specialist, came on short notice and was thorough - but not robotic! - in explaining everything to me (and my contractor, who was present). The innovation in their products was evident, so I felt confident moving forward.
Ken was able to get Juan Garcia, the installing foreperson, and his crew to do my job on a day they were all supposed to be off. They were amazing! The site was clean the entire time, which was rather unexpected for a basement job. The crew hummed along with little communication, everyone simply knowing their role and executing perfectly.
This is how you'd want any job done; it was very reassuring. The crew was obviously confident in both the product and their process, so much so that my presence was welcomed the entire time; not many job sites work like that, for sure. At the end, we're left with a dry basement and the confidence to use the space to our family's delight.
Of course, we're also left with the bill, which is not cheap. Even here, though, Quality First made it a little easier by providing easy financing at great terms. Given the cost, this is not a process to be undertaken lightly; however, when you're ready to do it, Quality First is definitely the way to go.

I had Quality 1st Basement Systems come in and do a major waterproofing job at my house in Queens this week. They showed up on time, finished the work in less than a day, cleaned up after themselves (they left it spotless) and transformed our basement. I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs during the difficult winter months. Even the smell of the basement is significantly better, not only due to the work they did but because of the dehumidifying system they installed. I'm a very satisfied customer. After my basement flooded due to a broken sump pump, we turned to Quality 1st Basements after reading great reviews online. They were not wrong! The service was impeccable, the staff is very friendly, and, most importantly, the products are terrific. We replaced our sump pump with the TripleSafe system and invested in the SaniDry XP dehumidifier. We also had our carpet replaced with Thermal Dry floor tiles. We now have a clean, dry basement and NO issues. Kyle Ward, our system design technician, comes and does a thorough annual checkup; he's very pleasant, honest, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Quality 1st Basements!

I used Quality 1st to put a triple safe sump pump in my basement. They were incredible from the start. They sent information regarding the people that were coming to the house, showed up on time, and left the area spotless. Jeffrey Nero came by at first to discuss the options and was very thorough and knowledgeable. Eric was the installer and he explained the work that was being done and kept me informed as the install was being done. I wanted to extend the discharge area a little further once it was complete and Thomas was able to come within a few days to complete the extension. I will be using the company again when we decide to fully finish the basement and put in the drainage system.
