Cool place to hang out. Food may be classic french, can't say, but it is surely not for everyone. Would recc tasting the wines and order something simple for starters to see if you like the kitchen.

Great food, but the service is not up to the level you would expect for a place like this. We had to wait a long time to place our orders and even longer for our drinks. The first round never arrived. The main course dishes were served over a period of 15min from first to last dish, for a group of six people.
Would still go again

Very nice place. Rooster au vin reminded me of my grandmother's and chocolate profiteroles were delicious. The foie gras was of good quality. The service is quality too. We had a great evening ^^

In the middle of the gilding of this tourist destination that is Paris, I strongly recommend this small friendly cafe located at 13 rue de l'Anciernne Comedy. The service is very nice, food good quality even if the prices are slightly above the proposed service

Nothing to say about the cuisine and the wines chosen but the service on the other hand ...
Place the plate directly on the napkin, spill wine while serving without even apologizing, some foreign participants found that very limited in a restaurant that wants to be chic.

AVOID. Terrible service and below average food. I could not cut though my steak it was so tough. After spending 10 minutes trying to chew through a piece I gave up. The waiter took away my plate without asking why I left a third of my steak. It's probably something he's seen many times.

The lady who sat next to us specifically told her waiter that she was allergic to peanuts. Yet her desert came with peanuts on it. When she politely pointed out that there were peanut the waiter didn't even apologize. He seemed rather annoyed that he had to take back the order. When she said she would like to order a different desert the waiter actually paused tilted his head back and gave her a dirty look. I felt so sorry for her.

This isn't even on the level of "bad" customer service. The waiter wouldn't show remorse after he kills you.

It is a Parisian institution and we eat well. On the other hand, without lack of money, we asked for a doggy bag for ecological reasons. Refuse. In 2019, I do not put the average to an establishment that refuses to implement eco-friendly solutions for future generations.

I went to Le Procope with my husband last summer 2012 and we were warmly welcomed by the receptionist. The food was great, the dessert succulent and the interior of this historic restaurant transported us to the past. I highly recommend this place. As a matter of fact, I'm bringing some friends from LA for lunch in this place this August 2013..

very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the place, the catering and the service with very affordable prices. we find in the wine list very good bottles at a very reasonable price. The historic dishes hold their promise, and if I compare with provincial breweries the price / quality ratio is excellent.

A historic must-see with delicious food. Do not hesitate to take a tour of the owner, to admire the rooms, the decoration and the frames. Without forgetting to savor your dishes in this mythical place.

This restaurant was recommended to me by a local my first time in Paris. Our experience was exceptional, so I came back first thing on my next trip. Both times the staff were exceptionally friendly, spoke English well, and were accommodating. The food was delicious. I highly recommend anyone looking for outstanding food and service to dine at this restaurant.

I SO WANTED to like this place. The hostess seemed nice (especially since my French is so dusty), but that's where the charm ended aside from the interior decor. *sigh* I was the first guest, the only American, the only single person (that I can tell) I'm not sure what happened, but it took forever to get me some water, then forever to order, then forever for oysters, then they forgot my scallops and even tried to charge me for them.

The gentleman who was in a full black suit appeared to be the manager- he didn't even offer an apology and apparently didn't care one bit that the service and food were not up to par. This literally just happened. I made an online reservation abt a wk ago, requested to sit outside- my rsvp was for 12pm when they open- there is no excuse. It took them 20 mins to get to me: they served other guests first- I thought that maybe it's because they're serving groups first. Who knows.

I spoke up and asked the waiter (close cropped hair very thin and pale) if there was a reason why everybody was served before me, and if it was because I'm american. I know...silly american moment. But I can't help but think this when this is the third place I've experienced something similar. Well, I guess it didn't matter that they never offered to make it because I had to be somewhere for 2pm anyway. It should take 1.5 hrs for oysters and scallops w veggies... oh yeah but they forgot the scallops smh

I tried speaking French. Not sure if they don't care like Melanias new fashion statement or if it was intentional. Either way, I'm not going back. I wouldn't recommend it. At least I saved money. Even their bread is sub par. How are you running a legitimate piece of French antiquity and your bread is not fresh/ garbage?

Again, who knows...

The oldest restaurant in Paris was in 2019 a disappointing experience. It was different from my previous visit in 2017. The setting is original but the service is slow and awkward, the dishes of the guests arriving partly offset and leaves a lot to be desired. The starter and the main course were good or very good but the dessert left something to be desired, not fulfilling all expectations. Given the profusion of cafes and breweries in Paris, I will recommend other addresses for an upcoming outing.

The worst dining experience I've had, period. The waiters were rude, pretended not to understand English (luckily we are both bilingual), slow, and we repeatedly had to ask for simple things like butter. My partner order a rum and coke, they brought him only rum, and only half an hour later did we get the coke (in a bottle, charged separately on top of the 12 for a simple rum). Our appetizers arrived cold, an hour after we had sat down. I had to send my Filet Mignon back twice because it was so grey that I wasn't even sure it was the right kind of meat (I asked for blue, and was told that it only came pink in the middle). The chef refused to cook it any less - the only possible reason for that is because the meat is poor quality/old and it isn't safe to serve it unless it's thoroughly cooked through. When a wine bottle broke on the floor, they picked up the big pieces and left the rest of the broken glass on the floor, even when we pointed it out. I've worked in the service industry before, I am always sympathetic in most bad eating experiences - but in this case the service was bad, the food was bad, and the prices were outrageous (we found out when we got the bill that tap water on the table cost us almost seven euro, twelve euro for an ounce of generic rum, and then five euros for the coke).

Service not very courteous, and despite the request and confirmation of the presence of a vegetarian menu by phone when booking, a dish of tasteless vegetables without sauce or flavor was served the same day. Ineligible for this price, impossible to call it cooking!

This is a very iconic restaurant in Paris. We had an excellent meal. The braised beef cheek was tender and delicious. We also had the chicken casserole and it was amazing. This place is a must do in Paris. It is also fun to walk around the restaurant and see all of history and artifacts.

The setting does not change and preserves French history.
We were a little disappointed with the meal but the service remains good. However, be careful when there is a large room reserved, the service of the meal can be delayed which is a pity.
