food quality 2/10
tatiki of tuna 14,5 euro = 6 pieces, 2 cm of diameter, thickness 0,5 cm, taste like plastic.
tartare a coteau (cutten with knife) = smashed meat that you buy in the market, tasted like wet old soap.
french fries = flavour of old oil, taste like freezer, consistency of old shoes, no crunchy AT ALL, all wet grounding this old oil. revolting.
Arrived home i went directly to the toilet (hard pain in the stomach all night long).
to start: they propose you this 12,5 cl bio cocktail, 11 euro, no taste or alcohol.
The quantity of food was VERY SMALL, the plates they served me were nearly empty but in this case i was lucky because i didn't like anything of what i have eaten.
This is a restaurant for people that want to pay the typical OLD french decorations and waste money for that.
Not talking about the waiters, roughly suggesting the dishes they wanted, and that in 5 minutes came consecutive in 3 asking if everything was allright, denying us, paying clients, to having basic conversations.
AH YES: IN THE MENU YOU PAY 30 EURO BUT YOU CAN CHOOSE ONLY 3 DIFFERENT (VERY BASIC) DISHES.
I live in Paris and i will never go back there.
60 euro each person for eating very bad (starter and main dish) (wine excluded).

In my opinion the pleasure of going to a restaurant is in three points:
- the charm of the place
- the quality of the meal
- the level of service
As much as the first two points are satisfactory, the atmosphere is warm, the decor "yesteryear" is successful and has its effect.
The traditional French cuisine is of good quality and the dishes well presented.
The quality of service however leaves something to be desired: waiter in a hurry and not really friendly ... at the end of the meal, we asked for a small bag to take one of our bottles of wine open but not opened, the waiter gave us a uneasy little grin, as if it was not something that could be done.
I also find it unfortunate that in such a touristy district, the waiters do not have some knowledge of English ...
Pity !

The service was welcoming and always warm smile. However we waited more than 10 minutes to order, then 30 minutes to wait for the coffee, finally 15 minutes for the addition, and only 15 minutes to taste.
In short ... a coffee to experience but not to enjoy life.

if you can speak french fluently and you are not colored races, there might not be a problem. The old waiter, seems a manager, is a terrible french.
if he could not speak English, he should not pretend to understand and took foriegner s order. if he had some mistakes, he shoud say pardon! not tell me Je ne sais pas, Je ne sais pas. with snobbish face. He did wrong, but was rude and made me pay all his faults. He spoiled a lot.

If the kitchen was up to the frame I will put 10/5 stars, but it is far from the case, I feel that cooking has become a means of absolute profit at the expense of quality and excellence ... to be urgently improved

This historic place was totally worth its fame. With such high quality of the service and the food it's no wonder that it's been continually in business ever since the 17th century. The food was unique, delicious, imaginative and not even the most expensive one we've had in Paris. If you get the chance, don't miss the opportunity to visit this great restaurant. You won't regret it.

It is the oldest restaurant in Paris. In Le Procope you can taste multiple traditional dishes, such as the rooster in wine, the "escargots" or the onion soup, but above all, it is like taking a little piece of history.
In addition, for the satisfaction of not very buoyant pockets, it has menus that allow you to enjoy without leaving your salary.

More than just an incredible restaurant with delicious food and nice staff, Le Procope is also a piece of history, and it shows off its majestic legacy through the stunning and detailed interior and amazing service. Eating here is more than just having a meal, it's the experience of being part of the history of a place that has welcomed some of the most important men of France. It definitely is an experience to never be forgotten.

Feels historic, intimate and exclusive, but the food is mediocre.
When approaching the Procope via the narrow alleyway back entrance you feel like you ve found a hidden gem of Saint Germain. Pulling back the heavy purple curtains and entering into the warm gloom of the velvet vestibule piques the intrigue. Peeling the second set of curtains back you re greeted into a gold light, paintings of lords and ladies, shelves of antique books and mirrors. The waiting staff are smartly dressed in white shirts and waistcoats and direct you with beaming smiles to the cloakroom at the front. At this point you realise, from the grand main entrance along a wide boulevard, that it is not quite as hidden as you thought. But never mind, the ambiance is full of pomp.
I went for the snails, which as always, were a mere envoy for the garlic, but admittedly these had a superior texture to the usual standard. Unfortunately, the bread was not good enough to fully enjoy the mop up job; cold and a bit tough quel dommage. My companion s foie gras was rather cher at 22 euros for nothing exceptional, but perfectly smooth and serviceable.
For main, the braised beef cheeks on parmesan macaroni had great potential but ended in disappointment. The beef was perfectly tender - having been cooked since 8 in the morning according to the waitress but barely any flavour! I reached for the pepper, but it couldn t save the day. The less said about the macaroni the better. The pasta was of supermarket quality and overbaked in the cheese rendering the combination tough and dry. Companion s fish with risotto on the side was unremarkable, but what dingbat orders risotto in a French restaurant ?
The wine, a Chinon, was a superb, woody variety with plenty of character and the only thing that was reasonably priced at around 35 euros.
The staff were charismatic and professional, and made us feel like royalty. We stayed an embarrassingly long time, whilst they were setting up for the dinner service, but we were never made to feel uncomfortable.
I would strongly recommend a Saturday lunch at the Procope for the experience, but order the reasonably priced set menu, a bottle of Chinon and soak up the atmosphere for as long as possible.

Absolutely lovely lunch! We sat downstairs and enjoyed outstanding services. Everybody was so professional and courteous. The food was excellent too. Perfectly prepared salmon with caponata, amazing escalope Milanese and rigatoni pasta, delicious duck magret. We were celebrating my dad s 82nd birthday and his dessert arrived with a sparkler in it while the restaurant staff softly sang Happy Birthday. It was unexpected and very sweet! A divine experience, we look forward to returning.

Wanted to go here since it's the oldest restaurant in Paris-1686! Went our last night. Food was good though my medium rare steak came out well done. After a short conversation they reluctantly took it back and brought me a properly cooked one. The place itself it amazing inside. Make sure to take a leisurely stroll to the bathroom. Good experience overall but very expensive. Be prepared.

I was hoping for more. We got the seafood platter and other than the shrimp there really wasn't a lot of meat in any of the items. The lobster was good but the crab and other shellfish had no taste at all. Bland. The service was fine, the tables were really shoved together so it was like eating with other people.
