Oldest cafe in Paris. This is a nice place to stop for a light treat during afternoon hours. Their tiramisu is a popular choice.
There is seating outside in the alleyway. Very pleasant atmosphere.

Amazing little place! The food is good, but the true jewel here is the history of the little joint. This little restaurant has been around since before the French Revolution. Make sure to visit. And order some food while you are at it.

A restaurant where you can dine and have nice conversations in a great atmosphere in Paris. It offers the finest flavors of French cuisine. You can try very special wines from the wine menu and pamper yourself. The waiters have only nice music, no noise, no noise. You are advised to go and make an appointment. As for prices, above average. I would recommend that you try not only the main dishes but also the snacks.

Six people ordered various signature main courses and appetizers, plus 2 desserts and a bottle of sweet white. More than sixty euros per capita. Not cheap, except that the snails in the appetizer are made in front of you, the rest of the dishes are also amazing. The stewed beef face is not as good as some bistros, and the wine is quite satisfactory. However, when I came to the old shop, I was prepared to step on the pit. Looking at the decoration, I can also find that the overall style is the old-style restaurant in the country.
but. . . The unbearable point is that the pre-dinner bread is too cheap for this charging restaurant, it is cold and hard, and it doesn't respond to asking for butter.

It is a historic restaurant, but it seems that there is a lot of preference for French food.

Eunwoo was here and that s so cool. And I love how it s sooo historic it was established in the 1600s
Also please try the traditional veal stew in white sauce cause that s what eunwoo ordered I think.

Wanted to go to La Jacobine but it was closed. I decided to go try La Procope. I waited for about 40 mins for a table. It's definitely worth the waiting time. The food was delicious. Staffs were friendly too. Would be back if I visit Paris again.

Bad value for money.
I had a beef tartare and was sick less than 2 hours later! this is the first time that it happens to me. I should not have trusted.
The desserts are also very few.
The only good thing I saw is the good will side and table service but the team is undersized and runs everywhere!
I will certainly not go back.

Had a great meal here. Highly recommend the Ox cheek. Sounds weird but it's like a really juicy brisket. The historical aspect of it was also pretty cool as the upstairs part hosted Ben Franklin. It's a bit on the pricey side as the main dish is about 25 euros but the service is well worth it. They also speak English there and they arent putoff by it.

Shame! We had dinner with a mouse walking around on our feet. And the staff did absolutely nothing, other than saying they came from a building under renovation. But isn't there a counterpart for NAS in France?

The oldest restaurant in the world (1686). Beautiful setting, entry: delicious ravioli followed by a back of cod and a lemon tart all equally excellent. A good dinner.

A museum restaurant, Voltaire's desk is there, it is a must in Paris. This restaurant keeps a lot of world history. French food required something high but the experience is worth it.

I think Japanese people especially like Risatto with scallops.

It's hard to say that the food was perfect, but traditional French food was a great place to try. The restaurant's history, atmosphere and interior are more memorable than the food. The service was a bit disappointing as there were so many guests.

The restaurant is very cultural and has a distinctive French restaurant. Of course, the restaurant also retains the special dishes from the start. In addition, the lobster pasta sauce is really good.

Very expensive place, because we were not in July they did not turn on the air conditioning, (summer began) we died of heat the horrible food, they had no variety, the wine was very bad !!!

What a bad experience which ruin my trip.
It is recommended that other restaurants in Paris do not have to spend the tide. However, Tiramisu is delicious.
Many tourists, probably because of the history and the source of Napoleon's hat.
The food standard is average and the service attitude is extremely poor. The waiter kept telling us to taste the bar's wine, saying it was free, and then telling the bill was charged.
The speed of serving is slow, deliberately not giving bread, and the attitude is very poor.
The waiter couldn't read the English menu, but I apologize that we don't know French.

Really disappointing food, if I didn t know better I would never eat a coq ai Vin again, worst French meal I ve had in the last 10 years. I assume it survives on tourists mainly.

Waited 40+ min to be seated, and the food was blend.

Mythical place. The oldest restaurant in Paris. Full of history. To top it off, we ate very well there. Relatively reasonable prices.

Beautiful setting in a place steeped in history. As soon as we go through the door, we are in the mood, it exists since 1686, moliere, voltaire, alembert, rousseau then the jiraros of terror .. a place steeped in history, .. the decor seems to be the same as in the time of robespierre and it is expected that the auger arrives at any time. Culinairemnet speaking ... not in the top 1,000 Parisian.

The atmosphere is better than the food taste. It is also fun to see traces of French history throughout the store.

One of the legendary restaurants of Paris. All the revolutionaries of 1789 had flower habits. To see first for the decor and the heritage value. But the food is not bad and the service is done in the rules. A little expensive all the same, but, well, this restaurant is also a museum.

If you want a place to bring Italian friends visiting Paris, ok. I wouldn't choose it for dinner. A very kind Italian waiter and very knowledgeable about the history of the place and the best thing of the evening on the menu.

We were staying at the hotel next door and had always passed by this restaurant. We had assumed it to be quite snobby and expensive, however, on our final Paris night we decided to look at the menu in detail. Turns out that we were wrong about the prices as they offer a nice three course prix fixe menu for less than what we pay here at home in San Francisco.

As we entered the restaurant, which is really old-style and beautiful, all of the hostesses and waiters were dressed impeccably. We felt out of place with our casual clothes. I know from reading some patrons' reviews elsewhere that they don't appreciate patrons like us (e.g. casually dressed and with backpacks) so prefer to reserve their tables upstairs where they can't encounter the riff raff that walk in without reservations. Well, so sorry, to disappoint those arrogant types, but the staff at Le Procope don't even pull any stuffy airs. Perhaps it's due to the changing environment of having tourists from all parts now staying in St. Germain or maybe the economic times that force them to now have no dress code. Whatever the reason we appreciated them allowing us a chance to dine there without any pretensions.

The food was great. Everything from starter to dessert and wine were all first rate. Nothing about it was touristy. So we're very grateful to have had a lovely last night meal in Paris thanks to Le Procope.

It's magnificent, we really enjoyed ourselves. But, there is a but. We are glued to the other tables so no privacy unless you whisper so that your neighbor does not hear your little secrets. Or worse, the noise of your neighbor at the table chewing his mouth open and talking with his mouth full! No table service can really ruin everything.

Wonderful historical restaurant with good food and a lively atmosphere. Don't go if you're in a hurry but that could be said of most restaurants in Paris. I enjoyed the leisurely lunch and the great people watching.

Great old-fashioned venue. You can either book in advance or get a table as a walk-in. Service was superb! Staff was very nice and polite. Loved their fixed menu with onion soup, complimentary bread, and duck confit with mashed potatoes. More

Mythical, unique place, delicious food and wine. Disappointment however: the champagne was not finished as already the dishes were served, all the rest of the meal, thus, until the addition which was imposed on us without our asking! Arrived at 7:30 p.m., we had to leave before 9 p.m. for the next service! We did not intend to go on forever! Maybe we should have reserved a table for 9 p.m. The birthday meal would have been less rushed and better appreciated ...

Had a lovely dinner and enjoyed the outdoor seating highlighted in the main photograph. Staff and food were delightful. I personally enjoyed the decor, architecture, and reading up on the history between courses. Worth a visit if you are in the area or are intrigued by well established venues.

Yesterday evening presentation of #prix # literary 2019 # #GASTRONOMY #BOURGEOISE #PROCOPE founded in 1686, mythical restaurant considered the oldest coffee in the capital, frequented by Voltaire, Rousseau ... Napoleon even left his tricone pledge to honor the debts of his meal! very nice evening with a very refined buffet and a service TOP!

Great food, sidewalk seating (would you eat any other way in Paris?), and excellent wine selection don't come cheap. Service wasn't too fast either, but we got used to it after a few days in France and taking in the natural rhythm of the city.
We had the beef stew, pork curry and fowl with cabbage. All were excellent choices; quite filling, tender and unique.
The only thing that was a negative in this whole experience is the fact that they have bathrooms with a hole in the ground and two handles to grab onto. Quite strange for an upscale French place like this.

Restaurant full of history, kindness of the waiters but the rest is disappointing
arrived at 8pm out at 10:30 pm ... it's a bit long for a meal
requested meat bleeding and served to perfection but the worst is the risotto with crispy artichokes
Remove this dish from the map you do not know how to make a risotto !!!

A republican atmosphere 1789 .. refined dishes, an atypical place

Thursday evening, I start with the chef's suggestion risotto with artichokes and sea bream with artichokes and then a recipe of the old tradition cockerel drowned in red wine ... All excellent as the setting and the service! Recommended for those who want to dine in an environment that recalls past historical periods ...

Came here on our last evening in Paris and had a solid french meal. My wife had the fish and risotto which she enjoyed. I had the beef cheeks which were also pretty good. The foie gras appetizer was good, too. The highlight, for us, was the escargot appetizer - they were by far the best ones we tried in Paris.

A restaurant with a long history that preserves in its setting. The food is excellent and the service very good.

Napoleon's history is so deep that it has come ... but the taste is .....

Aggressive waiter, cooking not respected, 4 of the 7 dishes were cold. Fortunately the dessert was good

We had coffee with my wife but it was not well done. The score is for its age and how it is decorated inside impressive. They also have lunch and dinner, but don't dare to try

Dinner September 6, 2020: Very friendly staff, interesting hostoric references and well highlighted on all floors. A heritage setting which would however have deserved a little maintenance (dust and apparent decay in places). The service and cuisine remain at the height of this emblematic place.

Would not go there for a second time. Did not like service there because of:
1) My wife and I ordered two glasses of wine. One glass was delivered in a couple of minutes, for the second one we had to wait another 15 minutes (it was not crowded at all).
2) A medium rare steak was ordered, but it was cooked as rare.
3) In the receipt was added extra water (around 7 euros) that we did not order. Staff was not even sorry about that and that's why I don't think it was a "typo".

Food in general was edible. But bread..., come on, in Paris you can't serve bread like yours, we had feelings that it was 3 days old bread.

In 1628, a restaurant that exhibited his hat as a trace of Napoleon I's visit. The food taste and the service of the employees are the best.

Because of my profession of chef I often need to go around different restaurants. I am rarely impressed, but this place didn't let me value the dishes, because all the time I was enjoying the atmosphere. The setting is unusual, ancient and fascinating. I definitely liked it very much.

The place itself is worthy of a museum, it is beautiful and full of history. However the menu is quite poor and yet very expensive, the service is very long and waiters on the edge of politeness.

I love this place. It is the oldest coffee shop in Paris. The only thing I have tried on their menu is cafe gourmand. It is excellent.

Very worthy place. The menu is not too big, but thoughtful. Yummy. The prices are not low, but for Paris it is quite adequate. The interior and the atmosphere are pleasant. Those who are not familiar with the subtleties of French grammar, you need to keep in mind: les citoyens and les citoyennes-citizens (men) and citizens (women) Otherwise, on the threshold of the toilet, you can be confused ".
