It is very beautiful and despite being old it is very well preserved, detail to detail. The food is delicious and not to mention the desserts! Excellent attention. We value very much that we have respected the reservation despite the fact that we are late.

Damn tasty onion soup and creme brulee both together for 15.
Friendly staff and good location.

However chicken was too dry. Better order French cuisine.

Nice and cosy restaurant.
I found the food really good and tasty, even the bread with butter was so tasty.
For sure try the creme brulee, it was extremely delicious!
We didn't have reservation, but after an hour it got crowded.

Having lunch at Le Procope today was a highlight of our week in Paris. Many famous people had dined there since its founding in 1683. The food was excellent. I order the French onion soup and the chef s awarding winning pollock plate. The only negative was the check, which billed us the higher ala carte amount instead of the philosopher special of 31.5 E. For the two items my wife and I ordered. We were also charged for a more expensive bottle or Rose. We asked the waiter about the billing errors and he refused to change the bill. It was double what we had ordered and expected, and we were very disappointed that the waiter would not make the correction. Buyer beware.

Old.

A Parisian institution preserved in its own right with very attentive staff for its clientele even eteroclite. Very good blanquette, preserved vintage recipe, quality and quantity at the rendezvous. Better to book.

A true delight in a pleasant setting. Very good customer service

Awful. The "large" langoustines were tiny and had been frozen the wrong way for too long. The tails were soggy, the claws couldn't be pealed and had frost damages. They shouldn't have been served by a restaurant who claim they serve fresh seafood.
They also charged 10,20 for a tint starter sallad, the wine recommendation were bland and the service was half engaged.
I would not recommend this restaurant if you haven't tried all the other restaurants in Paris first. You can eat much better food anywhere else. Go get it!

It is a place with history that preserves the appeal of age, where it certainly deserves to sit down with a coffee (for which it was born).
But to eat there are better options. The value for money of the menu seems to me to be improvable.
If you want to try or remember shellfish dishes (viscera and others) it is very worthwhile. They are dishes that are no longer found

Famous for Napoleon Cafe! It is said that Napoleon often drank coffee here and left his hat for coffee. The hat is displayed on the real second floor.
I was curious to be introduced in world theme travel.
I ate tiramisu with coco bang, steak, two glasses of wine and dessert.
Coco bang is left in a pan for hundreds of years, but it also has pork and meat. I do not think it is better than I thought and it suits the taste of Koreans.
The steak and fries were delicious. Wine and tiramisu were also good.
It seems that the French restaurant is generally rich in sheep. It was hard for me to breathe because I ate everything.
Staff members were also friendly. When you come to France, it seems to be good to go once.

Beautiful old french restaurant in the center of Paris. Exellent service with good English and English menu's. Notre dame only a short walk away perfect for a romantic evening or catch up with friends. Traditional French food and good selection of wine. Eveyone enjoy there meal however if traveling from overseas meat is rarer then expected eg from Australia or US medum well done stake will seem medum rare. This is common in france so request to be cooked slightly longer. Booking is essential. There was also a cool little jazz bar not far away with a good night life in the general area. All good fun. I have included an image of the menu that also contains history of this fine establishment. It dates back to the 1600's with many famous historical figures frequented this place one could imagine these historic folk enjoying coffee and conversing in the little dining rooms surrounded by books and ornate fixtures. Very cool. There are also many old art works of French culture. A truly unique ambience to be savoured.

Historical landmark of Paris, many have already passed through this place, many stories involved ... Part of the book "The Awakening of Spring",
It is worth feeling in the small access street the time and energy of this place!

Very average food, nothing I'd personally write home about, especially for the steep price. Staff struggled to understand English and I think our waiter just assumed what we want and walked off without confirmation, obviously this caused some issues as meals were missed and prepared incorrectly. Atmosphere is probably the only saving grace for this restaurant.

The braised beef cheek with parmesan cheese pasta was absolutely fantastic! Creamy pasta over melt-in-your-mouth beef cheek and a tasty sauce. Like the ambience. Worth a visit to this historic restaurant!

Well priced - officially the oldest coffee shop in the world! Napoleon famously left his hat when he didn't have enough to pay for the coffees.....and it's still there! Fair prices, a big slice of Parisian history and Fantastic interior. GO! You won't regret it!

Excellent restaurant with an affordable formula for lunch, very professional welcome. Sumptuous setting that takes you straight to the Enlightenment.

If you go, do not forget to go to the corners, it will allow you to see the floor and its famous lounges. We can see in particular a bicorne of Bonaparte!

Lovely old world atmosphere and fairly good wine, but the food we had was not special. The filet de boeuf was merely OK, while the famous coq au vin was disappointingly dry and clearly preprepared. Also, our champagne was clumsily and loudly popped open, scaring everyone in the vicinity. But oh well, I suppose we experienced it.

Where you can not understand why this is so good.
From pre-dinner bread to appetizer, main dish and dessert, all dishes were disappointing.

Also, the serving time is very long. Even if this is a French culture, I do not want to recommend it to those who have no time or are tired.
It takes more than 30 minutes to order, and it takes three hours or more to eat all the food.
In fact, two Americans sitting at the back table waited for the waiter for more than 30 minutes to order.

Very traditional French restaurant with classical dishes. The room upstairs is beautiful. The service is very friendly and formal, but it's perfectly fine to go there for a casual meal. The lunch menu is very good value.

Too beautiful, we went to lunch and the service is excellent (even some waiters speak Portuguese), it's a great classic from 1686 That's right, the food is wonderful and the dessert very good

It is said when you step into this establishment, you step into the history of French Revolution. The place was filled with historical items from hundreds of years ago, while still managed to stay fresh in the modern era, with top notch service and staff. Recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a meal or cup of coffee at where the great and noble once sat.

On the pricey side. Had the 100 day old chicken casserole, was very decent. The beef cheek was very well braised and goes well with the macaroni. The escargot was steamy hot, maybe abit too hot to be served. Onion soup was mildly warm. Desserts were delicious. Overall service was decent. But nothing significantly impressive.

My wife and I visited right around opening time for a quick snack (cake/ice cream) and were seated right away.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was pretty tasty too, with a decent though not overwhelming number of dishes to choose from.

The best bit about the cafe is the history. You re free (within reason) to look around the place and look at all the pictures and items of certain famous guests from times past.

Recommended.
