DO NOT and I mean DO NOT go to this driving school. They are a great organized company to work for but do not go through their school program. If you have never driven a truck before choose another program. You will be thrown into very difficult situations on the road and all your trainer is going to do is just yell. Learn how to drive before you come here.

I just started the student program a week ago and I cannot fully put into words how amazing this is... I'll try though.
The instructors are amazing! They were there every step of the way to help and encourage me! The people that work here are friendly and will help you with anything with a smile on their face.
They care about their drivers. They have health classes to help you stay healthy, winter driving classes for those of us that need that extra training (paid training), maintained equipment (no trailers over 4yo), newer trucks (none over 4yo), and so much more.
Rob Lowe cares alot about the people that work for him and has a open door policy for anyone who has concerns.
If you want to learn how to drive and work for a great company I highly suggest going to Prime!

My husband worked for Prime for a little under a year. He leased a truck through Prime. He would drive all over the US; east coast to west, north to south, etc. At the end of the week when it came to pay day, he would have some weeks and even consecutively with no pay. This was of course due to Prime always making sure they get their money first for the leased truck, then a host of other bs "fees" that would ultimately leave him with not one cent and sometimes he'd would be in the negative. How can a man provide for his family like this? They want you to stay out for weeks at a time and barely get any home time. If you do take home time you end of in the red owing for the week even of you didn't work. When he would ask his dispatcher about why he's not getting paid they would tell him he needs to drive slower so he's not using so much gas or turn the air conditioner off and drive with the windows down. He'd do that and it would still be the same thing. They sell you a pipe dream with all of the flashy accommodations then leave you high and dry. My husband spoke to another coworker who lost his apartment and had to move his family out because they are doing the same thing to him. When I told a friend about what my husband was experiencing, he said does he work for Prime? I said yes how did you know? He said that he knew someone who worked for them 15 years ago and quit after the first year because of the same thing. So apparently this is nothing new with them.

One of your drivers pulling trailer number 337223 about caused an accident on Interstate 80 in Illinois. I saw him force a mini van into the median. Thank God no one got hurt. But shame on your driver. Ohh and this is not the first time i have witnessed your drivers doing really stupid things. They also text amd drive and i have also seen a few face timing as well.

Jess is my girl! Absolutely an amazing person to work with. Always has gone above and beyond. Communication is a breeze. With any load there could be hick ups but it's the resolution that counts. Jason, Sterling and Jess are absolutely wonderful brokers to work with and overall great people. You would not regret booking a load with this company. Fair rates, and smooth runs.

Nice.

Awesome company to work for and most of the equipment is fairly new. You're treated more like a person here than a number like some other companies. If you got a CDL and looking for a job. I would recommend this place and our main terminal is awesome!

It's the best company I have ever been associated with, in or out of the trucking industry. I came to Prime after 5 1/2 years with another company and I couldn't be happier. I'm on my second lease and I will own my truck outright in less than 2 1/2 yrs.

Prime would not even contact me after submitting my application. I have a great driving record, no criminal history, no health related issues what so ever. Nothing to make a trucking company turn me away. I guess they don't need any more drivers. Id like to give more than one star but they never gave me a chance why should I give them one.

It would have been different to get a call or email saying you suck, your a piece of crap, we don't want you. But that never happened.

I'm sure Prime is not a bad company, after all I was going to go with them and I had done my research but how does one even get into training? How does one even apply to Prime? Most companies you turn in an application with all your info. They say yes or no. But with these guys it must be different...

Our church (Salem Baptist ) from Stonewall, La. was stranded on I-65 right by Prime Inc. WHAT A BLESSING THEY WERE TO US!! We had 15 young people( had just left summer youth camp from Lake of the Ozark headed home) 5 Adults & 11 month old baby on the HOT church bus. A sweet, nice gentleman from Prime( his name was Stephen T.) was so helpful to us. They came & got us off the HOT bus & transported to Prime Inc. There they had lunch for our kids and entertainment to keep them occupied. We were there for about 7 hours until we could get back on the road. SHOUT OUT TO STEPHEN & OTHERS FOR ALL YOUR HELP. THANK YOU FOR BEING A BLESSING TO US!!!!! We will never forget it.

I am only going to give them one star. Because I have applied here many times and was finally told to stop. Because Prime will never hire me.
Well I was a trainer at another company for many years. So if this company doesn't want my talents. I have taken them elsewhere there loss not mine. Travis

So I started with prime 4 years ago and left them to go local for 2 years and now I m back. And it feels so good to be back. They really upgraded the place and it looks amazing. And I still don t think their done construction. I get in and out quickly here now. Before it used to b so long trying to get thru the bay. But not no more. Waaaay more places to park the truck now with or without a trailer. It just looks so good now. Place is huge. The best OTR company to work for hands down. You will never find a terminal like this with any other company. Just signed the lease to my truck and I m back out here on the road again in my new 2019 freightliner. Check it out

I'm a company driver going on 2 years here. At this time, THERE ARE NO INWARD FACING CAMERAS !!

I am consistently running 2800 - 3200 miles per week. If you want to be a "terminal rat," you obviously won't get the miles. But if you're here you bust your ass, you'll get plenty of miles.

Yes, some of the safety equipment can be annoying, and the trucks are governed to 62 (NOT 58) for company, 65 for lease.

I was not going to post this but I feel the need to expose a fraudulent person. Someone from this company by the name of W.Moore ordered a brand-new set of truck parts. Just a little over 2 months after the parts were delivered, a charge-back claim was filed on their behalf. He never returned the merchandise, how dishonest can you be? Hope your team is not as dishonest as you. It is not even worth taking you to court, hope you reflect on your actions, God bless you.

For years I have been a 5 star residential A/C technician, I came to prime simply for the opportunity to become a Truck Driver and hopefully increase my income...I've been driving well over six months now with no accident or violations just recieved my 6 month safety notification...Prime in my opinion is a great company...My only concern is the loads that I am getting doesn't pay very well I am a lease Driver and I have good friends that I graduated with are doing well and getting good paying loads we do have different dispatchers though...I really do love driving for prime but I may have to leave to seek better pay opportunities to support my family...

Could not find a way to contact someone, so I'll leave this review instead. I'm on 169 south in Thayer, KS with wind advisories of 40-50 mph. I'm hauling a very light load, 8K lbs so I can not drive "fast" like one of your drivers would like me to. He was tailgating me for at least 10 miles. So close that if I had braked for any reason he would have hit me. When I finally got a chance to pull off on a shoulder after a stop sign to let him pass, he flew past me, laid on his air horn and flipped me off. Please address this issue. He is driving way to aggressively for these conditions and definitely not acting professional. He is going to cause or have a sever accident if he doesn't learn the following distance, especially in inclement weather.

I started driving truck in January of 2016 for GBS X-PRESS out of Utica,NY . We are in the reefer division. Our dispatcher is Lance. I couldn't not ask for a better dispatcher. When he is out or on vacation things fall apart. He is very friendly and if you have an issue he helps solve it. When you need to be home,he gets you there.

I'm a current PSD student been here 2 weeks and all I can say is this has been an amazing experience! Everything on the website is true and some. If you can't make it at Prime it's not Prime it's you! They are very patient and they work hard to help you every step of the way from day 1!!! Only negative if I have one is that I'm waiting on a trainer. Other then the wait I would recommend Prime for anyone thats a hard worker.

Okay to start primes a great company to start at great training program. Before I came to prime the first time I did a lot of research on training and prime had the best. You get here they fill you in on what's going to happen and they will answer any and all questions. Now that being said there is room for improvement like PRIME DON'T LET FRESH UPGRADE GO LEASE let them complete they're 1 yr contact first letting them go straight to lease sets them up for failure trust me I know. I was here as a flatbed 2yrs ago left because I was not making any money because I went lease so I went to Haney trucking In Lufkin TX which I don't recommend but now I'm back as a reefer driver and clearing about 800 to 1000/wk after taxes, insurance, and child support so ppl not making money especially on comp side are just LAZY end of story and prime dose take saftey very seriously call them and ask for saftey have trk or trl number it will get resolved immediately

Most unprofessional trucker. You had a trucker delivered to Kellogg s in Lewisville Texas yesterday. My friend is the guard there and when I walked by the truck he had a tablet playing tv shows. Meaning he pulled up watching tv as he was driving. He also was in front of the guard shack taking selfie s. When there is a sign posted saying no cameras or pictures. He had a young lady taking pictures of him . Truck number 680584. This was around 3 pm yesterday. Plus the tablet he was watching tv on was on his steering wheel. That s how I was able to see it. Very unprofessional. That s sad that you let your drivers disrespect the customers property. No photos means no photos. I was about to go in and report him to manager, but I had to pick my kids up.

Great place to work. Very family oriented. This was my first choice in choosing a school to learn how to drive a tractor. And I must say to this day I have no regrets! I ve learned and am learning so much. Prime is an awesome place to work and I especially love it s open door policy for its employees. From day one I ve felt like I had a family here at Prime.

Would never work here again! Was injured and couldn't return to work for a couple of months so they fired me, but that's not the worst part they put I quit and when I called in to speak with dispatch and whomever they got on the phone. They responded with why does it matter you longer work here, but you can try and reply, we put you down for eligible rehire. Had to pay out of pocket for all my medical expenses, because they didnt give me proper guidance. I was told I'd be reimbursed by workmens comp, but that wasn't true it was only if I went to the specific doctor they never told me about. It took me months to be able to use my hand again absolutely horrid job.

I give it 2 stars. I am a lease driver with Prime who attained licensing through their CDL program.

#1 licensing isn't FREE (there is nothing more expensive than FREE.) IF you stay a year 'from the date you are hired' then you don't have to pay it back there are other details to this agreement. Big picture, you are basically agreeing to pay Prime a little less than 4k to arrange a hand shake between yourself and a trainer who will decided if he likes you. Theres a list of names and the trainer basically interviews the prospects. If you get picked you get to leave if not you sit on the campus until someone wants you. Like every company there are some difficult people and Prime is no exception.
Major thumbs down for transparency this company majors in omissions. You are not informed if something goes wrong during orientation they do not pay to send you home and you are immediately told to leave.

As far as earnings I've heard the horror stories and victory dances alike. I know people and have their truck number who average 3.09 per mile and they don't train. I've also met drivers who are in their second lease and still average $2900 a week in revenue no matter how slow they drive. Consistently bringing home 3-500.00 a week??!. I've spoken with lease fleet managers that aren't aware that company drivers make 40+ cent a mile, while they try and cajole you to focus on attaining 32 cent per mile benchmark success by driving 54-58 mph. What can be said but something is odd and very wrong with the above picture. Driving slower does improve fuel economy but theres a point where it hurt as far as loads per week (Prime ignores this data) as well as Deadhead miles. I found that 30% of my milesl is spent on hauling Primes empty trailers to 01's. A 500 mile dead head to pickup a refrigerated load that pays $1500.00 that goes 800 miles isn't GOOD MONEY! An independent would NEVER do that with a brand new truck!

If you have never driven or ran a business before my advice is DO NOT lease with Prime or any other company. Prime has great equipment...YES! but there are far more profitable programs out there if you are business savy. DO NOT let your friend or family member talk you into leasing because of the great experience they have had and their relationship with their fleet manager.

If you have issues with being OTR for 3-4 weeks at a time and need to be home 4-5 days every 2 weeks DO NOT come work for Prime!! In my opinion, based on observations and average consensus with other lease drivers Prime does not have enough quality freight for their solo drivers. Those that do well here or exemplify the 5 attitude towards Prime typically come from one or all of the following life situations:

1. They have nothing or no other choice because of a recent divorce, layoff...whatever. So staying out 4-6 months is a blessing whether lease or company. (nothing wrong with that and I am not judging.)

2. Their significant other is or will be on board with them as a Co driver...So again no reason to go home. Teams especially when its your mate do better so all the money to the truck ends up in the same pot. This plan leaves alot of money for life enhancing items like satellite connectivity and an endless shower balance at the TA. Also Prime has more quality freight for teams (this has been verified by several fleet managers.)

3. People who are some how stuck with Prime. They are in a situation where they have a criminal record and Prime was the only one that will hire or had a life event while at Prime and they just can't leave or its just easier to stay.

Prime is an OK house in a very shady industry. Their freight to me doesn't necessitate the need for a $140k vehicle. You have to think risk verses reward. The risk to me isn't worth what you earn in OTR at Prime. Every OTR driver in a lease program should be bringing home 1500-2k conservatively.

The wife of a Prime trainer. ...

The wife of a Prime trainer. Let me start out by saying prime produces the best drivers in the US. With that being said there s one thing that needs to change. The trainer who train for the money only need to be replaced. (They know who they are) I have spoken with close to 100 students N the horror stories I ve heard are unexceptionable. Race, gender should never come into play. The job of a trainer is to shape, mold excellent drivers. Your not supposed to scream at them in customers parking lot or truck stops. They should be treated like you would would like to be treated. You should recognize the fact that by the time the students get into your truck they are behind in all of their bill's and can not afford to get into another trainers truck because of your bad actions. Enough, this has been kept quite long enough. I m calling you out.
Students or future students this is for you.
Never allow a trainer to abuse you. You can trust Prime and the dispatchers to do the right thing by you. If you sit in silence nothing will change at the hands of a bad trainer. Prime will have your back trust them.

I do well here as a lease operator. Several weeks I've made 2,000 to 2,700. It's all about how you run. Net fuel cost makes a big difference. If your net fuel cost is .20 a mile and you lower that to .10 a mile that's 10 cents a mile you save yourself and at 2700 miles a week that's $270.00 you added to your pay check. Slow down and keep your RPMS at around 1100 to 1150 about 57 MPH you could do that. Also pay attention to how much fuel you buy and the taxes on it. Cheaper is not always better. Your running a business, efficiency is key.

Here's the deal. Prime uses you to pay for their trucks and you use them for your 1 year experience. If you think it's anything more than that right there it's not. Leasing, it's a joke. Truck payments twice that of other companies. Prepare to make checks like this... $500, $100, $800, $400, $1100, etc. Then on those you pay taxes yay! Are the people nice? Absolutely very friendly staff. Does that really matter if you work 14 hr days and bring home $400? The truth is prime takes and takes and takes money from you before your left with any. You might if your lucky make $3800 otr, $1600 of that is theirs, then $1000 for fuel plus whatever else goes wrong. How much do you get now? Get used to making no money. Office company only, drivers = churn n burn em. The only thing I've gotten out of this deal is a cdl. I'm promise you they will punish you with bad loads if you want to go home and will promise that load is all they have while it pays $500 less than last time you hauled it! Hmmm. Please use them then leave, because they will use you. The majority of these 5 star reviews are going to be office staff, the ones who get taken care of, not drivers

Great place to go if you are new to trucking. It's great because they make you think you are making great money and they excite you with the flashy accommodations. Do you know how they pay for all of the flashy? The driver. For example. The lease program is truly walk away however they will charge you for a mess of things that were not only charged to the prior driver and not fixed but they will also charge you for PMs and other things to "get it ready" for the next driver. Thing is they do not get it ready. Our truck was delivered extremely dirty and they charged us money to get it cleaned just so we could properly inspect it. Following that the 28% they take does not include much at all. The charge you for the rest of the things.

We work for Prime. The terminal is huge, the employees are nice and the cafe may be a place to get a meal, but the meals here are huge! Its Missouri, so service is slow, just breathe and let it go. Relax, no one is in a hurry here! Nice gym and places to just chill
