Great place to visit for a drink or dinner to see the skyline of Portland.
Great place to visit for a drink or dinner to see the skyline of Portland.
If you havent taken your spouse or significant other you better. The views are amazing food is great. Great collection of cocktails and the brunch is to die for. GO NOW!
O.M.G this place has a beautiful view and a great atmosphere, I went there for dinner and the lights made feel like I was having a romantic dinner wich I was I highly recommend it to you. Did I mentioned that is on the 30th floor? Just think about the view just lovely!!
Price is a little high, but the food I ve gotten has always been good and the view is worth it alone.
Beautiful view, food delicious, I even ate my leftovers, and I never do (just ask my hubby lol) truth
Expensive, but matches price with quality of everything! My marsala chicken blew my mind. The chocolate cupcake we got at the end was succulent. The atmosphere was warm and romantic. The waiter was exceptional.
If you want a great view and also be viewed like an exotic fish at your local zoo, this is the place for you. The view is wonderful but that's about it. This is the Chucky Cheese of steakhouses. The chairs remind me of something you'd find at a fast food restaurant chain; four pegged, 2 inches of padding over a cheap metal frame complete with paper table lining. The horde of waitstaff rushes by like they're running a marathon and the waitress pushes dessert like a desperate used car salesman on 100% commission. If you want to hear 20 other's conversations going on within 20 ft of your "romantic" dinner, this is your place. If you like paying $60 for mediocre food while having 100 other people watch you eat, this is your place. If you're one of those people who want to be seen, this is your place. If you want a place with private conversation, ambiance, and comfortable seats, this is Portland, throw a stone and you'll hit something better.
This is exactly what it is trying to be. If you are looking for a great steak, great views, and a very nice dining experience, and are prepared to pay for it, this is the place to go.
Our food was delicious, the staff was friendly, the drinks were good, and the ambiance was perfect. Don't listen to the haters.
This happy hour is the best. Live piano and an amazing view
I only come here for the legendary happy hour menu. They still have a great selection of affordable, quality food every night. Expect it to be busy if you go during happy hour, so if you want a table by the window for the excellent view of Portland, go during lunch.
Beautiful city & river views!! Food is excellent! Great happy hour menu also!
Always an excellent time here. Most recently sat down at 2pm for a late lunch in the bar area. Took one of the many open seats by the windows. Enjoyed a glass of wine along with their Seared Tuna Nicoise salad, and sat peacefully contemplating the view from the 30th floor. Quite the relaxing break in the middle of a busy day.
This is a super fun place to eat with a great view of the city. I took some out-of-towners here and they loved it. Food was great, and the service was friendly. It's not too pricey either.
When we really want a special evening we know a reservation at the Portland
A great "must visit" restaurant and bar. Awesome city views and the best Old Fashioned in town.
Food is really good. Service is better than average. Prices are fair but not cheap (nor would I expect them to be). The view is fantastic! It's definitely a great date spot! My biggest complaint is how crowded and busy this place has gotten. It's not very intimate and can sometimes feel like a zoo with all the people and tables set up on a busy weekend night. However, it is a "hot spot", which is a draw for some. Give it a shot if you've never been before! Can't go wrong with the steak or pork.
Beautiful view, excellent service. And of course the food was amazing.
Great location. Good service. Smells weird there. Mouldy. I went there for lunch. Food was decent, but, nothing to write home about.
It offered a nice view of the city. It was crowded and we had to get a seat at the bar. The food was good and the staff was nice. A good place for a nice evening date with someone special
This place is definitely on the expensive side, hit toy get what toy pay for: good food and a great view!
We went there for an early dinner before going to see Hamilton. We made reservations 2 weeks in advance and showed up on time to check in. We were forgotten about twice. The reservations were for happy hour but the hostess sat us in the restaurant, so my anticipated bill went from $30 to $70 without any discussion. Our server was VERY attentive and nice, but it took over 30 minutes for us to get our food after ordering. I had paid for a 2 hour meter that needed to be extended as with how long everything took I needed to wolf my food down before it expired. Luckily it didn't and I made it by 3 minutes.
The food was absolutely DELICIOUS! Even though the service could have improved the ambiance was great and so was the food. I would say over all 3 stars, but based on food alone 5 stars.
For drinks we all got the Champagne Supernova, I ordered the pork tenderloin, my friends got the steak and the chicken. All very good! For dessert I got the creme brulee and my friend got the chocolate torte.
The Food was incredible. The service by our Server Spencer was Amazing as the View!
Family took me here for my birthday, great food and great service
The food is delicious and the view is fantastic. We ate here while visiting from out of town and the food and atmosphere is with the expensive plates!
Wow... you often go to a place like this for the experience and an understanding that the food will be marked up beyond the value of the meal, but my wife and I were very impressed by the view, the vibe, the service and the food!
Everyone from the host, to the waitress and the servers were incredibly attentive to us and the guests around us.
The view of the bridges and Saturday market on the waterfront was great. We even got a glimpse of Mount Hood's peak despite plenty of clouds obscuring the view our entire time in Portland.
The food was of great quality with generous portions and we will definitely be back!
Beautiful place to celebrate with a special meal, drinks and someone you love!
It's more expensive than I thought.
The scenery is good.
What a great place to have our last dinner of the weekend! Kung Pao calamari was DIVINE!! If I had known how good they were, I would have ordered 3 of them just for myself!! The pork chop was cooked to perfection, the lamb chops were delish, and the steaks were perfect. Definitely a must try in Portland!
Service=4.5, atmosphere =4.5, food=4.5, quality =5. Brunch is fantastic. Be aware of your seat and area around your table. One of our party sat on chocolate from a previous diner another sat on what appeared to be grease . There were corks and trash under our table.
Great food ,Great View of Portland on the top floor, lienin napkins but dont be afraid to spend a little bit more for Great service , friendly atmosphere.
Over priced. But great view and ok food. Superb drinks
Good food, wonderful service from the bartenders to the house servers and a spectular view of downtown Portland below.
The food and drinks are bit overpriced but being the only sky high restuarant in Portland, thats expected.
We ordered numerous differnet items (pictures attached) between us friends and eveything was made fresh and tasted wonderful.
Would definately be back when in town again, perhaps for lunch next time to take in the day time view of the city below.
The atmosphere was absolutely wonderful the view is amazing the food is out of this world it was my first time but it was an absolute wonderful experience I recommend it as a great romantic date with your significant other or a treat with your family
They have been great working with our LegalShield Executive Overview. Good food and service. Great view!
Great view of the city. Tasty food. Great happy hour menu!
Are the views worth the mediocre food and drinks? Probably not
Good menu lineup with fantastic views of the city. Great lineup of local beers, and other craft beers, on tap. The wine list will also be sure to compliment anything you order from the menu.
Great view with great food and a great wine list. All the food seems about $15 too expensive. Maybe it's the altitude...
You come for the view.
You pay a fortune for drinks, happy hour is packed because they discount the appy's, but it is the best damn view in the city.
And yes, the really overpriced drinks are mixed well and delicious, just pricey.
If you've never been, well, you must go.
We dined on a Sunday evening to celebrate a 21st birthday. Even on a Sunday they were relatively busy.
Our group had already been waiting, so I'm not sure what the total wait time was.
Our female server was working very hard to try to earn her tips..... from the 2 men in our group. Unfortunately, there were 5 women along too. She was inattentive and a little snobby. It took 3 requests to get a straw before we asked a male server, Two orders of salad were 3/4 gone before we finally received more dressing (after requesting it 3+ times), and an order of fries was totally over looked until the end of our meal.
The food was okay, nothing special, compared to what you expect of downtown Portland.
you cant take the elevator until 4pm! just letting everybody know
Always an excellent time! When people visit from out of town, this is where I usually send them first. Best service, great food, and the best view in Portland. I had the pork with a mustard sauce and it was deliciously sweet, yet had a nice kick toward the end. Pom martini was just right, not too sweet, and not all sticky and gross. The corn chowder was epic. Always recommend Portland city grill! It's a classic
All of the stars go to Min, my server. She was kind, attentive and was the only person that didn't seem upset to have to work that night.
The team of hostesses were bickering about where I should go before finally realizing that I could hear them. The food doesn't match the $tag but it is RUI and more hospitable than Henry's so.. Acceptable I guess. The drinks were delicious and flavorful. Nothing horrendous, just mediocre in some spots. Except for that young lady... Min was awesome
The food is delicious the view is perfect anf staff are nice but last time the candle on the table made a bad experience for us they are not safe at all. And I should add it is a expensive restaurant
4 stars for the view over anything. Food is ok and beer selection is non-existent
Great happy hour, fantastic views, get there early to get a window seat.
This is the second time I have come to this restaurant, and this is the second time I left having a wonderful meal and some awesome memories! I wanted to say thank you to Patty again who was so wonderful! I read a lot of reviews that the staff is snobby and the menu was over priced, but that is just absurd! The Filet Mignon was literally to die for, and the mushrooms were a dish all on their own! I took my spouse there for his 25th birthday, and they treated us like we were made of gold! Patty even brought Gabe a little birthday desert for free and put it in a To Go box so he wouldn't miss out, despite the fact that we were stuffed from our delicious meal! Anybody giving this place a poor review is most likely a snob themselves. I can't wait to come back and try something else! Thanks again Patty! You are an all star!
Hard to beat the view, though you do pay for it with the prices. No better place to eat if you're meeting somebody at Big Pink, though.
Very nice atmosphere. Very good good. Pricey but worth it.
Happy hour items and a great view! It's a great place to take out of towners.
View was breathtaking! My first time being 30 stories up! Absolutely amazing food. Great environment. It's worth it's money! Best place I've been yet. I'll go back, as well as send people there!
A very relaxed place and you can appreciate the whole city, the exquisite food, good service
If you go for happy hour expect to shark for a window seat in the lounge section (fine dining is separate and didn't appear to have mobs jockeying position). We got lucky when looking at the view- a couple with the best table had just finished. We were not hovering, but discovered that many others were. The view was wonderful, the mixed drinks cheap and cheerful, and my friend enjoyed her streak and frites. The food took so long that our lovely server did not charge us. We were thrilled that the wait allowed us to linger over another drink (or two) to enjoy the view. By the way, the 30th floor was a great vantage point to watched the never-ending line at Voodoo Doughnuts!
Loved this place. Did the bar area room where you just find an open table on your own. The views of the city from up there is spectacular. My meal was awesome and so was my drink. Friendly and fast staff.
For all the fuss people make about this place, the food was just average and the atmosphere was pretty dismal. The prices seemed high.
Unique. That is the reason you go here. It is a unique dining/ happy hour/ bar experience being this high up looking out over the city. I've brought out of town guests here many times and they love it. I've enjoyed the food here also but it is definitely priced on the higher side for what it is, yet it is in line with what would be expected for the location. Comparing food in Portland is tough given all the amazing alternatives we have, if you're just rating the food itself. I certainly give a lot of weight to the location here and would say that the food does not disappoint.
This is my usual dinner spot and I normally get really good service, but the last time I was here my waiter was never really around. Extremely disappointing service I had from him. Spilled my ice cold water all over me before I even ordered so the whole evening I was cold and wet. My wine glass was dirty and he took forever to come back with a new one. It'll be a while before I come back. I'll request not to have him IF he's still there.
The ambiance of Portland city grill is fantastic. The view is breath taking especially in the evening.I recommend it to anyone. If you're planning on visiting this great city then Portland city grill is a must go to place.
One of my favorite places for drinks and if you join the restaurant unlimited club they give you a 20 dollar gift card during your birthday month that can be used toward alcohol or food. The view is breathtaking but the food is just ok and pretty expensive. Definitely recommend the bar during happy hour 5pm-7pm and again 9pm to close. They also have a pianist that is very enjoyable if you catch the times right.
This restraunt has amazing food, beautiful location and stunning scenery. Our waitress was top notch and her recommendations were all excellent. They also have validated garage parking which is a huge plus for that area.
The Asian spring rolls were very bland, but the mashed potatoes were amazing! Loved the view. Perfect for a birthday dinner with friends!
I love the view, atmosphere and interesting choices of food!
Chicken marsala was delicious white moscoto will be perfect, really dark atmosphere and lighting made it difficult to get good pictures. Also a tad noisy for fine dining. Dinner menu is way overpriced. Was there for out of town friends who came in for our daughter's wedding- party of 8 adults and one child. Getting in was a couple of stops to get to our reserved table. Parking garage below the restaurant was a nerve racking experience with low ceilings. They do validate your parking!
Excellent brunch. The view, food and service....... Spectacular!
Great place to go food is amazing and the service is always top notch. My wife and I went there on our anniversary and they put roses on the table a card signed my the staff and treated us like we where king and queen!!! There prices are higher but worth it and they do have a excellent happy hour and the prices for happy hour are low as well would highly recommend Portland City Grill
The best place to eat 30 stories in the air. The green beans were undercooked compared to Kells where they were superb. But that was a pub. But the prime rib was divine.
Amazing late happy hour. The Wagyu poutine was perfection!
View was excellent, of course. Wait staff and good was also exceptional.
Always love it here. Great atmosphere, fantastic food! Really expensive.
Food was great. I really enjoyed the hone brined pork loin. My wife liked her filet mignon. Our compliments to the chef. Service was excellent. The Maitre D seated us at the time of our reservation. Fantastic views of Portland, even though not seated next to a window.
