Great Happy Hour in the bar. It was easy to get a seat as long as you are OK with not sitting at the window. Small plates were yummy and under $10. And the Basil Gin Martini was good. The atmosphere is dark and relaxed. It felt like a place you could dress up for or come casual.

A group of us came here the night before a wedding in Portland. The view is great and the drinks were reasonably priced for a venue like this. One thing they needed to do was turn up the A/C. We were starting burn up in there.

We brought family from out of state here for dinner last night, and were extremely pleased with the entire experience. We each got 4 different dishes and they were all superb. I had the honey-brined pork tenderloin, and each bite was mouth-watering heaven. The pineapple marmalade and house mustard made an already exquisite meat come alive in my mouth. Our server, Ellie was a delight--the right mix of knowledgeable and warm friendliness which made the entire experience fantastic. She gave good recommendations for both food and wine which were spot on. Kudos!

The place was packed when we rocked up -- even so we managed to get a great table by a window overlooking the bridge, after only a 10 min wait. We were lucky it was a Tuesday! From the service to the food, craft beers (signature Portland) and desserts -- I cannot recommend it enough. A word to the wise: Don't be us, make a reservation :) We celebrated our aunt s visit at PCG. Every time we have gone here, it is a pleasure to go there. We love this place and it is a treat. We ordered appetizers followed by dinner entrees.

We went to PCG for our anniversary dinner. We told them when we made our reservation, and they had confetti on our table that said "happy anniversary" and "congrats", which was a really lovely touch. Our waiter was Anthony, and he provided great service and was also funny and kind. The food was pretty good - they have a great selection of steaks, as well as other meat and fish options. They also have some gluten free and vegetarian options as well. We got steak and pork, both of which were very good. They also have an excellent selection of drinks. The view is amazing as well - so cool to see out over Portland. If you don't have a reservation, then there is an initial rush at 4pm to get a table in the bar area. If you do have a reservation, don't worry - you will get your seat! We had a lovely time and would definitely recommend this restaurant as a great dining experience in Portland.

A Portland gem! A must go place for out-of-towners. Its undeniably the best view in town and the happy hour is to die for. Their espresso martini will knock your socks off and if you like things a bit sweeter, their lemon wedding cake drink is to die for. You really can't go wrong with anything o their happy hour list. Though don't expect to walk right in and find an open seat. The HH here is extremely popular every night of the week. You will find business execs, real estate agents and the night owls scheming, eyeing and swarming the second a check gets signed for those coveted window seats

Very good food! I had the ribeye and my Wife had the filet mignon, both were cooked to perfection!
We also ordered an appetizer of calamari, and it might have been the best calamari I've ever had! (My Wife didn't care for it as much as I did).
The view from the 30th floor is just amazing! Unfortunately we did not get a window seat, but even from the center table we were able to enjoy the view of Portland.
Heads up, the restaurant has a very dim/dark atmosphere. It's not anything wrong or overkill, it's just worth noting.

If you're reading reviews for this place, it's pretty obvious that most people love the view. I am no exception! It's pretty breathtaking. We can for Happy Hour, and lucked into a window seat. The food was a mixed back--The pork ribblets were pretty underwhelming, but the cauliflower was outstanding. Any points lost are reinforced by that amazing view. It's worth coming here just for that.

The food and drinks were really good, and fresh. The wait staff went over and above. They made an extra effort to get us a table by the window, which was really nice because it was our anniversary. Easy access, off street under ground parking (enter parking garage from SW Pine) with free validation. Even though downtown Portland is kinda sketchy at this time, it's a safe access to this famous Portland restaurant. And the view? Breathtaking!

I really enjoyed the Portland City Grill. The restaurant is located on the 30th floor of a centrally located building in downtown Portland and the view is spectacular. I had the scallops which were cooked to perfection. Several people had the filet and one had the lamb. There were smiles, oohs and aahs all around the table. The service was impeccable. Our server had a total knowledge of the menu and made great entree and wine recommendations. Let's not forget dessert. OMG I'll leave it there. Perfect for a romantic night out.

Most of the appeal of PCG is the view of Portland from the 30th floor. The food is generally good, but the service in my experience has been a bit less than average for this price level. I'm usually here for dinner or happy hour, and the servers tend to be less attentive than they should. Drinks will often be completely empty before they are refilled, the timing of appetizers/soup/salad and the meal is usually way too close together. It's not that it is bad, its just not as good as it should be for this price level. A $60+ per person meal should come with better than average service.

Best view of the east river side and excellent food. I ordered the new york strip steak and sauteed mushrooms. The steak was awesome and thicker than expected and the shrooms nice and savory. My guests also had a high end experience. Will go back!

After anticipating a visit to this restaurant I was truly disappointed in the atrocious service by the argumentative waiter IZZY. We had a party of seven and the view was still beautiful from our seats. The service we received was absolutely horrible from our waiter IZZY. He was very unprofessional with our table but seemed to interact with the other tables differently. We are very disappointed with the service, the cold baked potatoes (butter wouldn t melt), empty wine glasses, the huge attitude from the waiter, Izzy. When these things were pointed out, nothing was done to rectify the situation. End result was when Izzy lied and said he validated our parking ticket, which he did not.

This is the U.S. Bancorp Building (aka Big Pink) for some reason it looks pink from other parts of the city. We headed up to the top to have lunch and take in the views.

We were in a hurry to have a quick lunch and get to our meter, so we decided to just get a burger and split it. The menu is delicious looking, but this was about the only thing he would eat on it. It was delicious! Even the fries were pretty amazing.

PCG American Blend Cheeseburger
Brisket, short rib & chuck, apple smoked bacon, Tillamook white cheddar, crispy onions, brioche.

Delicious! I am sure a brig draw to this place is the amazing views, but people keep coming back because of the food. It was a big expensive. Our burger was $16. Ouch. But paying for good food is a must sometimes in a big city. Glad we ate here.

Good food, good drinks, great view, but falls short of being a real class joint. Interior hard-core needs a face lift; and a place with this location/prices can afford an update. Looks like it hit it's peak in 2003 and hasn't tried since. Plus, the music they were playing was godawful. We liked our server, the drinks, the food, and were wanting to stay longer, but we actually left because we hit our quota of Smashmouth and Nickelback. Overall a good experience (you can't beat the view) but with a little polish and cosmetic work it could really be spectacular!

This place has amazing views. I visited for brunch on Sunday and it was snowing outside which made the view extra special. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was very good. They start you off with monkey bread which is delicious and have a buffet style brunch with a couple of items that you can order from the kitchen. I had the pork b Benedict which didn't disappoint. I will make sure to visit this spot next time I'm in town.

The entrance was a little bit difficult to locate being a visitor to Portland. I like to spoil myself every few months by going to a fancy steakhouse, so while traveling to Portland people told me the "Portland City Grill was the best steak house." "You will have the best steak you have ever had there." I immediately got excited and Rushed over there. The steak I ordered had quite a bit of fat on it, but I n
Don't mind a bit of fat, but it might be more fat and gristle than others would like, and it was not as tender as I was huh opting for. And the sauce the green beans were cooked in kind of over powered the flavor of the green beans. The meal was delicious, it truly was a great meal, but I feel my hopes were ups little bit hearing people talk so highly of it. The view was amazing being 30 floors up. So a great meal with a great view, what more could you ask for on a Saturday evening.

Be careful when getting the Rogue Creamery Oregonzola steak topper, it had onions in it. I hate onions, it almost totally ruined the meat. Everything else including service was fantastic. Scenery is unreal as always.

Firstly, the staff were fantastic! This review is not a reflection on the servers. Price for quality was a little mixed really. I wasn't blown away by the food, nor was I satisfied commensurate with the cost.

The cocktails weren't evenly poured, as 4 old fashioned drinks at the table all yielded very different flavors. My two drinks also lacked any light profiles and was mostly hit with the flavor of gin and vodka when it should have lime or mint as well.

As for the American Wagyu; I have to be understanding it can't compare to what I had in Japan...but it really tasted just like a nice steak. Nothing bespoke of Wagyu, and nothing greater than I have had at other establishments in the area.

The seafood was excellent however, and the vegetables and potatoes were near perfect. But with what I paid for drinks and steak, it was enough to keep this review down.

The hype is purely aesthetic. This place provides gorgeous and "gramworthy" views of Portland, especially after dark. Other than that it's a crowded bar and restaurant with kind of overpriced entrees and hit or miss service and food. They do have staff members that give a damn, though. The server who took our way overcooked steaks back was a gem and he was tipped accordingly.

This is a high end experience that every couple should try at least once. Nestled on the 30th floor you have gorgeous views of the city. Make a reservation and ask how early you need to be to score a window table. Nearly every table had cute couples celebrating anniversaries and such. The food is higher priced for sure, but when we went they were more than happy to split our calamari appetizer and halibut dinner. I can begin to tell you how delicious the food was... such flavors and presentation fit for a King or your Queen.

Came to celebrate my birthday. Staff was amazing and the food was good however I was disappointed that their menu was smaller than usual. Something about the head chef and their parent company. Still the staff was amazing as usual.

My girlfriend and I, who live over 400 miles away, made a reservation for a window seat a month in advance for her birthday, based on positive reviews we saw and the ambiance this establishment seemed to have. On arrival, we were told there would be no available windows seats for over an hour. However, as we were shown to our seats, multiple window seats were available, just not for us. This was our opening impression. We ordered drinks, soup and appetizers, which were okay, but not for the price. Then, we received our entrees. We both ordered chicken priced over $30. She tried cutting into her chicken and it was like cutting into leather. We should've sent it back then, but instead she bite into it, as did I. To say this chicken was over-cooked would be the biggest understatement I've ever made. This was the most bitter, burnt and most disgusting food that I have ever put in my mouth. Kitchen let us down. Service reacted poorly. Management didn't resolve anything. Tourists, skip this place.

The view can't be beat, particularly if you're there on a night that a storm rolls through. Oh yeah, the food is good too! This visit I was here for a professional dinner, so there were many delicious things to sample. I could have left satisfied with the appetizers alone but glad I saved room for the creme brulee.
