View of East Portland and Mount Hood on a clear day is terrific. Skip the dining room and sit on the bar side. Much cheaper and happy hour specials are a good deal. Not amazing food but you're not going there for the food.

Treated my parents for their 31st wedding anniversary. They have never been and were amazed at the view and food. It is more expensive, but so worth it! I had the stacked wedge salad along w/ waygu sirloin with salmon, both guys had the rib eye and my mother the apple and gorgonzola salad along w/ the filet. She ate the entire filet! The staff are always attentive and they even brought a complimentary dessert for my parents to enjoy!

I've been here twice now, once for an anniversary dinner and once for happy hour. I've been impressed both times! Entrees and drinks are spendy, but the food is to die for and the service is impeccable. The happy hour is also extremely reasonable for such a high-end restaurant!

The view is breathtaking, however: Our party of four arrived at 8:15 PM and we were shown to our reserved table by walking us past several empty window tables which we would have preferred. This was the first disappointment. We were brought bread which was okay. But looking at a nearby table with two guests they got exactly the same amount of bread for only half the number of people. This was the second disappointment. I ordered a special topping for my steak but it turned up five minutes after the rest of the food. Third disappointment. My filet mignon was a little fatty on one side. Forth disappointment. The waiter was nice but when I spend many $100s on a meal then expectations get a little higher than what was dished up for us... Hence minus two stars.

A great location with fantastic views. However mediocre service, and food. Our server took over twenty minutes to even come to our table the first time. Then I ordered a Caesar salad without croutons (gluten intolerance which I told the waitress). Then halfway through eating my salad, I found three croutons. Which tells me that they made the salad with the croutons, then picked them out afterwards. God help anyone with celiac disease who eats here is all I can say.

I've been hearing from co-workers & friends that the level of service has diminished. Unfortunately I just experienced some of that. I've personally been a customer for over 25 years when it was originally Atwater's and since 2001 when it became PCG. I just received terrible CS. Not sure if under new management, but never experienced this before. Employee who answered the phone had terrible communication skills and was very unprofessional. I was put on hold for 7 minutes to make a reservation and then told I couldn't request a table by the window. I've been a customer for many years bringing clients to PCG, having large company events, celebrating family events and dinner with friends. That just ended today. I will be sharing this negative experience with my business associates, friends & family.

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Oregon. All the food and drinks are fantastic. Happy hour is excellent and isn't that expensive. Last night I had crab stuffed halibut on top of saffron rice and it was the best halibut I've had in a very long time. The servers here are great too. Very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Also the view can't be beat from 30 floors up. I'd recommend that everyone go here at least once a year for special occasions.

Great romantic spot. Awesome views of the city, gourmet food that is a bit expensive but really really good. Perfect for birthdays anniversarys or other cebrations. Tell them in advance when you make reservations and they will decorate your table and leave you a nice card signed. Very fancy, with professional staff. Also there is a bar you can sit at waiting for a table or just have a drink at. Watching the bartender was like something from a movie.

Very good views of the city around the whole restaurant. The ambiance was good and the food was good, but I would not call it superb. Perhaps over priced for what you get, flavor wise. I will say though, their ginger lemon drop was on point!

First time at this restaurant was to celebrate purposing to my girlfriend. The waiter was not personable and the food was not worth the price. However the view and calamari appetizer that we got were both wonderful. We will be coming back but will probably only order appetizers next time.

The place is definitely beautiful and the view is mainly why. But if they could just turn the lights up just a dash that woulda been sooo awesome. Food was good. Wait time for drinks and food seemed a little backed up/slow. It gets packed pretty quickly and I didnt think it would've been packed like it did on a Tuesday but it seems its always packed so I'm sure reservations are the best way to go. A table by the window can only accommodate seating for a max of 4 and our dinner party was 8 but we could still see the city lights. Theres a bar area to the left divided by some partition with a guy playing piano.
Parking is underground. U can validate after your meal your waiter will ask u if need it but that won't do u any good unless u get in and out of the restaurant in under 2.5 hrs because u still pay after that and we paid $8 which isnt bad.
Would like to visit next time maybe in the daytime for the view again of pdx in the day.

There are numerous reasons for you to experience this restaurant gem. Breathtaking views of Portland and surrounding areas, superb customer service and excellent food is what you can expect here. I have frequented this restaurant with my business meetings, romantic nights and as a treat for myself. The Portland City Grill has a wonderful happy hour that offers great prices which are lower than expected for a high-end restaurant.

Maybe the best happy hour menu around. Not just in quality of food but in price also. We were shocked when we lucked out and got seated at a window with a direct view of Mt. Hood. We were even more shocked when when we received the menu. Such a wide variety of food for unbelievably reasonable prices. We were able to get a little bit of everything for the same price as a meal for two at Applebees, except we got sliders, calamari, and baby back ribs to name a few. AWESOME EXPERIENCE.

Service was excellent with our big party. I had the rib eye with veggies and potatoes. I ordered it medium well and regretted it. The inside was cooked perfectly, but there was a char on the outside that I did not care for. The veggies were cooked perfectly.

Wish the food lived up to the view.
Heard from multiple folks about a restaurant on the 30th floor of a building with a great view. Most had not been to the location, but EVERYONE was on point. The view was pretty darn awesome during the daytime. I wish it was more clear so we could have saw Mt. Hood and the others. What I didn't know is you could have just walked in and got a look at the view without reservations. Still with that being said it was fair to make a reservation.
We started off with the bar while we waited for our table to be prepared. The bar seating I felt was very uncomfortable and cramped. They really cram the seats in there. The barstools were the height of the bar so you had to sit back from it pushing you into the path of people. The drinks were expensive. They were decent but not worth the price paid. The seating around the bar had short tables as well. We think to push people out so they don't hang around.
Once we got our reservations we had a killer view with a window and it was nice getting to look around the city. Both of us ordered sushi and an appetizer to start off with. The app was good but very expensive. The sushi was so-so at best and still very expensive. Service could have been better. Water was refilled regularly but our waitress wasn't seen very often.
I'd say come for the view on a clear day but not the food.

I expected something better. The food had a lot of grease. The rib eye was fine. I went to celebrate my birthday, the lady who attended us to realize that we did not eat the shrimp and the fries, she gave us free dessert for being my birthday (thank you), but I did not like the dessert either I feel disappointed, what you pay in that place is the view, that is wonderful.

I tend to only come for the Sunday brunch, but what a treat!
The gal, I think Laurel or Lauren or Laura, is great! I mean, she makes you feel like the most important person in the room. And that's what great customer service looks like. I'll update once I go back and confirm her name.
Food is always good, staff is generally the same too (which is a good sign). Wait staff, busser and carving station seem to be the same. Good people that are happy won't leave a company, so that speaks volumes to me.
Those views too! Generally four tops near windows, so keep that in mind. Larger party means you'll probably not get a window seat. Bring put of town guests here for brunch, and don't eat the night before.

One of the best places in Portland to get a steak and the views are spectacular. They have a decent selection of specialty martinis, a good balance of beef versus seafood, and their desert menu was vaguely classic but each item had a twist to make it different.
