The evening bar tender/waitress continually ignored us and refused to wait on us. The food was great.
The evening bar tender/waitress continually ignored us and refused to wait on us. The food was great.
Awesome view, great happy hour with both food and drinks in the bar. It's a little bit of a struggle to get a good table but if you keep your eyes peeled you can snag a good spot. The live piano player was well versed in a number of songs. Good views of mount hood on a clear day
Had the most amazing time here for our first visit, amazing food and better portions than I assumed, romantic ambiance, amazing views. Couldn't have been better, thanks for giving us an amazing night
Great happy hour prices, but not even a single vegetarian item. It left me unimpressed. Other times I have been here have left me less than impressed with the quality of the food for the price, though the view really is spectacular if you manage to get a window seat.
The food was great, service was impeccable, ambiance was comfortable, and the view was to die for. What a treat. Every dish brought to our table was over-the-top tasty. The servers were pleasant and prompt. Not one complaint -- from appetizer to dessert. I'd definitely go here again when in Portland!! (And the piano music in the bar before our meal was lovely!)
Steak was amazing. Server was knowledgeable and fun without being overbearing or annoying. Bussers were prompt and kept my glass full. Overall a good experience and would recommend.
Used to be outstanding all around but the food and drinks are lagging behind other Portland dining. Still good for the view though.
Phenomenal place to drop some serious change for dinner.
Great view from the top of the building of Portland. Great place for a drink or happy hour. Dinner menu is pricey but good happy hour. Recommended for a relaxed or romantic evening.
I have been here a few times for lunch as well as dinner. The view is beautiful both the times. Food is great and service is awesome. There are options for vegetarians too. Nice variety of cocktails.
Spendy but food is delicious. Great Portland city views.
Amazing place and has super city views
New to go early to grab those seats that can give you fantastic downtown views
Little pricey but they have happy hour in the evening when the place is jam packed
Simply put a very mediocre at best restaurant with a very nice view describes this place perfectly.Bar was the best and only good thing about this establishment due to the good bar tenders and the good view 5 stars, Restaurant? forget about it.
The wagu steak probably ruined steak for me ever again. Service and views were exceptional.
Husband and I were on a budget for an old friends birthday and they had a burger that my husband enjoyed very much and I got a side of Mac and cheese! Wish the portion of mine was bigger for $12 but PCG is on the pricier side! Check the menu before going and know that happy hour is ONLY in the lounge.
Excellent restaurant, great steak and the price is very good and the place is excellent and the service is excellent
Great food and service definitely recommend to everyone and I plan on coming back
Perfect place for groups and date night.
They have a separate sitting section for happy hour selection and only dinner. In the happy hour section you need to find your own table.
The dinner section has seating arrangement for 4people.
The spicy chicken noodles from the happy hour menu was the best.
With 4 star food and an unbelievable view, this restaurant is worth your time. On the 35 th floor, the view is unbelievable. The restaurant area had fewer and more costly ($$$) choices and the BEST view. The bar area had better prices, more food choices, live music, loud and crowded and you might have to work for a view.
To sum it up right away, it is all about the view. This place has an absolute stunning panoramic view of Portland from it's large windows that are all around the restaurant. You can see almost all major sites from this high perch in the sky. I would say defiantly go to enjoy the view, but not so much for the food.
They have a nice menu with good options, but nothing that really jumps out or is overly unique. I tried the lamb burger, but the lamb was drowned with overbearing sauce that killed the natural rich flavor of the lamb and it was overdone with the cooking. My partner had the trout and it was nice and light, but nothing special in preparation. In all, the food was decent, but nothing to rave about.
The reception as well as service was professional and friendly. We received immediate attention and it was maintained throughout the lunch. The service experience in all was good, but what service should be and nothing extra of above and beyond.
Overall, you should go for the experience if visiting Portland for the first time, but as I stated in my first sentence, it is all about the view.
Always 5 stars. Atmosphere, service, food. All top notch
Great view, the atmosphere and interiour remided me of a classic background from a 70s or 80s movie.
The Asian spring rolls were very bland, but the mashed potatoes were amazing! Loved the view. Perfect for a birthday dinner with friends!
Good food. Just took forever and the place has dull knifes, at a steak place there is dull knifes?
Best table in the place. Food was spectacular. Service amazing!
Great meal, great view and great service. A wonderful place to go for a special occasion.
This rating is purely for the view, did not have time to enjoy the food.
Amazing place. Great place to take in the wonderful views plus eat great food.
Drinks were terrible. Could not stomach them. Girl friend took the drink back and the bartender was a jerk about it. We know what our drinks should taste like, but he was overly defenisive about it. Called the manager over and he was defensive about his bartender and the way the drinks should be. I have had many Old Fashions in my life and these were terrible. Food came out and the steak was dry and and had no flavor and the girl friends Crab Cakes were terrible. She ended up getting sick later that night. GREAT TIME PORTLAND CITY GRILL. Over all would never, ever go here again. Over priced and crappy food. What a way to spend visiting Portland. Thought the atmosphere would be better.
Quintessential Portland. No place is more classic than PCG. Fair prices and great service for a great night out with the view you pay for.
To get a window seat you ll have to spend 45 mins at the bar on a busy night but take a good cocktail and enjoy the live piano. PCG is a gem.
Love the happy hour, love the live pianist. The main restaurant is also a delicious experience, it just costs a lot more. Get there early if you want a window booth, and you do, because it is the best view in town.
Prices are HIGH but the view is terrific enough to warrant the high-falutin' atmosphere and pricing. If you want to do it on a budget, go for happy hour or just share a few of the delightful appetizers. The entrees can be hit or miss as far as quality for the buck, but the appetizers never disappoint.
nice place for dating, but with high price. And totally worth every penny!! Try to be there at the happy hour for great deals!
I love your establishment always great for a birthday or a casual happy hour with an awesome view!
Expensive place, but you are paying for the view and creative menu. Portions are also larger than average
I was very disappointed with the pork chop my friend had and the duck bao was as good as I would have expected at a place like this. Nevertheless, worth a stop in for a great view of the city at night. Get a drink and happy hour. Skip the entres.
Great view, perfectly cooked rib eye. Definitely be back next time we are in town.
I just love this place. When I need time alone, it's wonderful & when I feel like gathering with friends it too is wonderful to be here. Thanks for the lovely dinner and fine service. My filet mignon is always perfect. And so is my shrimp cocktails. Love love love this place & the Gin & tonic! Devine
Thank You PCG !
The sushi is amazing, the place is clean and neat, the prices are okay and the service is fast!
The first day we had a nice fancy cocktail and a little snack in the bar. The second day we did enjoy an astonishing sunset during dinner. The food and the wine from Oregon were delicious. The waiter did a very good job and knew a lot about the wines and vineyards from the region.
food was delicious. seating during happy hour was difficult.
Excellent service, a very special view of the city, that what I enjoy most is the company of those who accompany me.
The food, very delicious, I enjoy it as I enjoy some tacos in a boatboat.
I am all terrain.
Third time here. Happy hour offers full dinner menus which is enticing but for a view youre worth getting a reservation. Instead of entrees we got an assortment of appetizers. Warning: very large serving sizes, will do as an entree in a pinch or for lesser appetites.
Jambalaya
Subtle spice that lingers but not overpowering. I am a spice fiend and usually ask for enough spice to leave me speechless but it was pleasant and did not detract from the experience. Very filling. Rice was well cooked.
Tender shrimp, not rubbery but not quite melting. Dependant a lot on seasoning, which was excellent.
Chewy but flavorful sausage. Maybe more than i would have preferrered but still very good addition to the mix.
Rice well cooked
Portion size decivingly big, get as appetizer alongside entree if a big appitite is present.
Yusu yellow tuna
Raw on inside crispy on outside.
Mid tier seared sahimi fare although bamboo and masu are best at this game, if you have steak loving friends get this if you love sushi. You may convert them.
Hot mustard sauce best sauce. Almost wasabi like in terms of horseradish flavor but still an agreeable accompaniment.
Good coating of what i believe may have been grated black pepper but helped if you prefer subtle sashimi and added to the additional salsa and kimchi additions.
Which of which; the fruit salsa was generic, but fresh mango was a great touch to the nearly buttery tuna- pushed it into nearly buttery territory when combined with the sauces.
The kimchi was unspicy but tart which added a good touch. I am a huge kimchi fan so i understand how different kinds can appeal to different audiences. This kimchi can appeal to most i believe. More like asian inspired sourkrout than authentic kimchi but still a good addition.
Peking duck.not the moistest nor the most interesting. Cheap though for a leg. Go to seres for a good peking duck. As an appetizer? Very fun as long as not seeking authenticity.
Kimchi was slightly saltier it seemed than the but accompanying the sashimi but may accoubt for duck blandness.
Buns steamed a bit chewy but combined with the slightly dry duck worked out nicely.
Duck more bland but extremely edible and tender and for 15 bucks made a very fun appetizer.
Hoisin sauce was good and inviting and smoky enough.
It gets pretty dark inside, which is great if your date isnt your idea of eye candy, but mine is so definitely ask for a table candle (or two)
Service took a few minutes but for the happy hour section was not bad at all. My date is a little bit older than me and often servers treat us obviously differently than couples within the same age range of which treatment we thankfullly didnt receive tonight.
All in all, a little overpriced, not extremely original but still worth it for the memory and view, which, having finally hit the foggy rainy bits, is just astounding (if you ask an autumn minded person like me).
Could be the best happy hour in Portland.... definitely can't beat the view...
The view is very nice but for the money the food is marginal. Good place for a drink and appetizers.
Always great service! I highly recommend it. Terrific views. A wonderful place to entertain out of town guests.
first time their place was packed but will definitely go again.
PCG is a great experience. The views are unmatched in Portland and the food is top notch. We had incredible service by a gentleman name Anthony. If you are ever in Portland, its a must go. Its not the cheapest place around but every penny is worth it. Definitely coming back in the future.
Absolutely beautiful view and the food was wonderful. Without a doubt the best calamari I ever tasted. Definitely will be returning!
Superb views of the city, nice drinks and people, terrible happy hours food. Reasonable prices. Visit for the views and the drinks, avoid the happy hours food.
I was in town to spend time with my family. My cousin thought this would be a good place to see Portland. I have to admit that it has excellent views of the city.
The problems with the place includes that space is limited and the staff does not consistently enforce their own policies. THE POLICY: Guests must wait for a place to sit and staff doesn't get involved with seating.
Per the policy, I patiently waited, took a seat when I saw an opening and was immediately told in a rude way by a waitress that the open seats I patiently waited for actually belong to a group of white patrons because they patiently waited. Since I didn't care to escalate the situation or get killed, I got up and left. In my mind, racism must have played a role in why the waitress violated the policy for the other guests. So I requested my bill, and was preparing to leave. Then a manager came over to discuss the situation. But he too was rude and disrespectful to me. Based on his words and behavior, I was confident the violation of the policy was racially inspired. Why would anyone with authority approach a guest or guests to attempt to berate them about how it was appropriate for them to violate their own policy and try to escalate a non-situation?!
So, I do not recommend this place. Especially if you're black. Overall, people beware. You will not be treated equally in this place.
Great service! Very delicious food. I would love to visit this restaurant again!
Cozy place which is best for romantic dinners. Amazing views and friendly staffs! Desserts menu is small but the ones are good
Service was great, view was beautiful, and the food was pretty good as well
Had an amazing dinner date tonight at this fine restaurant. Food was amazingly delicious and loved the atmosphere.
Excellent service, perfect ambience, AMAZING meals and views
Was here for private dinner/work event. View was amazing! It was a clear day; could see for miles. The wine was delicious and the food was great...lovely filet and creamy, delicious brulee. But, the thing that made the evening truly enjoyable was the staff. Friendly, attentive, helpful, humorous...just all around wonderful!
Happy Hour is the best here, especially on Sundays!
Always great view great drinks and a wonderful atmosphere
Beautiful views - go at happy hour for very reasonably priced drinks and small plates.
Views are to die for! Anniversaries, birthdays or just to impress a date this is your spot if you want to bring someone special and be remembered!
P.S. Elevators move fast! Hehe
Wow. Simply incredible place. Happy hour is devine.
Great great great! Food was a people a Definitely will come back and will recommend !
Great views. Go on Sunday for the all day happy hour.
Great view located at the 30th floor, enjoyed nice red wine with good appetizers, very crowded for dinner, nice service staffs, main dishes of steaks were overcooked without pink, but fine for friends, light was a little dark to see outside
On a beautiful day you simply cannot beat this view. The fact that the food is fantastic and the service is effortlessly efficient while still seeming casual makes this a winner.
I got the new York steak with salmon and the meats were absolutely perfect. The asparagus was dry and burnt on the tips and overly stringy. They tasted booked with almost so seasoning or flavor. Drinks were a bit weak. Would definitely go back absolutely loved the experience and view.
Great food! Loud but a great atmosphere on a Saturday night. Expect an expensive meal. We were at $450 with 6 guests with 3 drinks each and appetizers and dessert. But worth it if you can swing it.
The food and service is always fantastic and the view is one to die for
Over top!!! Food & Service was extraordinary! No words for amazing deliciousness that melts in your mouth! I have never eaten food like it!
Love the food here and the views are top notch! Service leaves a little to be desired from this upscale Restaraunt.
Fantastic meal with a fantastic view. Service lacked a bit but overall very worth it.
Great place, beautiful view of the City, wonderful staff & food!
This is a must when visiting Portland. They staff, views, and food are all worth it. I really enjoy coming here for a drink and appetizers after work.
Took my wife here for her birthday and we were both satisfied. Kung Pao Calamari is a very tasty starter. Chicken marsala was cooked to perfection and my wife really enjoyed her pork chop.
Service was Excellent! The waitress was exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu, the dishes, how the chef's prepared our choices and she had excellent timing as to when to be at our table and when to give us plenty of time to relax and enjoy the food and spectacular views. I recommend this restaurant for it's excellent food, service and views.
