I went here last night and it was an incredible experience. The staff are enacting policies that keep everyone safe like wearing masks and gloves and wiping down chairs and tables, the food was fantastic, and the wait staff was extremely courteous. Pictured is the American Wagyu Sirloin and the Seasonal chicken, which was prepared with mashed potatoes, a mushroom sauce, and kale. Although the meal was expensive, I cannot recommend it enough. The steak was cooked exactly how I ordered and I was extremely satisfied with it. The sauce was also tremendous, this was easily one of the best meals I ve ever had. I went there to celebrate an anniversary, and our server Jeff was extremely kind and even brought us a free dessert to celebrate. Everything about this meal and experience was perfect, I ll be going here for many special events in the future. Furthermore, the view is incomparable, whether you re seated next to a window or not, you can see an incredible view of the city and mountains. 5/5 stars, no question about it.

Went for a business meeting. Seated in a booth quickly. Drinks were good with decent by the glass selection. Not the best view from our table. Ordered the beet salad which was covered in dressing. Tasted very oily not healthy. Service was off. We were not done with the salads when the main. Course arrived. We were not eating slow but apparently they want to turn tables fast. Main course was salmon. Cooked well but served with a heavy hand on the sauce. Overall the salmon was very good just very pricey. Last came dessert. Ordered the valharona chocolate cake. It was incredibly dry. No rush on dessert by the time waitress returned and we informed her she apologized. She offered to replace but we wanted to leave. She offered what I thought was a free dessert to go. She insisted. So we took a piece of cheese cake to go. We were charged for dessert. The cheesecake was not very good and I tossed it. Overall a very pricey place that failed to deliver on service. Food was variable with main course being good and dessert a disaster.

This is more of a review of the service than it is of the restaurant itself. The waiter who took care of me and my wife was the snobbiest we've ever encountered in all our lives. He appeared to be looking down on us which was pretty interesting bc he looked like an undocumented immigrant himself. I did tip him though what he deserved was a firm kick in the ass. I was dressed pretty casual that day and this place seems to cater to the business crowd. Would not advise people to go to this place bc they judge you on appearance, besides there's so many great places to eat in Portland. Don't waste your time and money here. Edited to add - After discussing with my wife our awful experience at this restaurant, she told me that when in the ladies restroom she saw an employee was arranging silverware in a cabinet that is in the ladies room. Why would any reputable establishment store its silverware in a restroom? Disgusting! Maybe they use the toilets to wash them to save on water. Gross!

Fantastic dinner with my family. Our server was delightful and knowledgeable about the menu and provided us with the perfect recommendations. The halibut and pork chop dinner is a must have!

Our server was amazing! Gave 4 stars as the value was not the best. Food was still very good and the view was amazing. If you are thinking of going definitely do it as it was a great experience.

Loved this place. Did the bar area room where you just find an open table on your own. The views of the city from up there is spectacular. My meal was awesome and so was my drink. Friendly and fast staff.

Go for happy hour and sit by the piano for the best experience. Food is decent, but severely overpriced if you re not ordering happy hour. Let s be honest; you re paying for the view. House wine is good, poblano mac n cheese is everything, salmon cakes are tiny, but worth it.

The restaurant's bar has the best views in all of Portland. Happy hour has many featured brews and cocktails, plus excellent sandwiches and light fare prepared in one of the top-rated kitchens in Portland.

Boring and overrated. I guess it be nice place for a date but being single and seeing 20 guys for one girl were horrible odds. I know its not the establishment fault. Have guys ever heard of flirt clubs or single bar nights. At least once a week.. There very common overseas. just an idea. By the way I hate strip clubs. Just looking for a friendly enviorment.

One of Portland's top restaurants. Amazing city views and amazing food. Great place for an anniversary or other special occasion. We had the steak and salmon and both were excellent - some of the best I've had. You can dress casually but it's the kind of place where you should dress up at least a little bit. Shorts and flip flops would look out of place.

I took my daughter here for a nice lunch. It seemed that it was trying to be more upscale than it actually is. The staff was superb, the decor was nice, the view of Portland was AMAZING. However, our waiter spoke to us as if we did not have the funds to eat at the establishment, he talked us down to the lunch menu and then apologized for having to charge us extra to add the soup of the day to our meal (perhaps our jeans and sweaters was not the attire he was use to, or he was selling out of his pocket).
We were served our lunch and quite frankly, it was not all that good. Pretty mediocre. I had the french dip, which is served with an onion soup that had the consistency of gravy. My daughter had the seafood soup. Her description was, tomato soup with some sea food in it.
We are not snooty folks (refer back to jeans and sweaters) but we do know good food and this was not it.
I tipped 50% because the waiter tried really hard to be accommodating, but I will never go back. Sadly we later passed some street vendors and wished we would have eaten there instead.
In the end, chose your coarse. If you are going to be a high end restaurant, than set the bar to be snooty and have spectacular food. Otherwise, casual it down a little and lower your food bar.
The prices were low, the food was alright......We will not be back

Some additional details: We used to absolutely love "PCG," and it was our go-to spot for happy hour and corporate events. Amazing views, great food, friendly staff. What's not to love? Over the years, we've held multiple work events here and I even had a personal wedding reception here, all of which went extremely well.

Unfortunately, the location has absolutely tanked over the last few months. I suspect this is related to their bankruptcy filing as they seem to be cutting corners and coasting on their previously great reputation rather than striving to keep their patrons happy.

It's unfortunate and I sincerely hope to see them re-bound. But after two very bad experiences in a row, we're gonna have to give 'ol PCG a pass for the foreseeable future.

The best happy hour in Portland. All of the bar tenders are awesome!
Ryan, RJ, Dillon, Tiffini, Matt, Travis, and Sprague all are rockstar bartenders!
Also, pretty much everything on the Happy Hour menu is to die for and very reasonably priced.

Although the atmosphere is fantastic, the food is pretty decent, you are overpaying for the view and experience. Great place to go on a date but won t go here for other than a special occasion of when I m feeling like splurging.

Every time we go, the food is excellent, the servers are helpful and attentive, and if course, the view is spectacular.

We've gone on date nights for two, celebrated family events, birthdays, anniversaries, and even brought our kids!

I used to like this place, even though the service was never the best. Now the service is usually just crap. I would only go back here to show out-of-town friends the view of the city in the evening - which really is pretty. So, maybe check out the lounge, have a gaze and get out, before you waste too much money on decent-ish, but not wonderful food, and shoddy service.

Good place for happy hour. Prices reasonable for this location, good selection of happy hour menu items. Great stop if you want to avoid rush hour traffic. Restaurant was packed so I presume regular menu is good too.

Portland City Grill is not for the weak of wallet. That said, the meals are outstanding. Service is also outstanding. If you're looking for some of the best food in town, this is a great place with an amazing view.

We went as a treat for my birthday, the had a birthday card for me, and the cutest little cake and a candle for me! The hostess was charming and our server Ellie was an absolute treasure. All of the food was fantastic, atmosphere was nice, and the view was beautiful. If it is available, please try the cheesecake with strawberry and basil. If you go, ask for Ellie!!

My family enjoyed the food very much, and the view of the city is excellent. I do recommend being cautious if anyone in your party has a food allergy. One of the items we ordered was the calamari, and it did NOT list that there were peanuts in it. My boyfriend who is luckily only mildly allergic, ate 2 small servings before realizing his throat started to swell. This could be extremely dangerous for anyone with a more serious peanut allergy. He has had the calamari here before with no problems, and was not expecting it to have any peanuts today. I highly recommend asking your waiter if a dish has any possible toppings that you are potentially allergic to. LIST THE INGREDIENTS on the menu for every dish!!
