Views were amazing and the food was incredible. The lamb was tender and flavorfull and the drinks were complex and refreshing.
Loved the happy hour. We had the calamari, as well as spring rolls, and the Wagyu skewers. The view was great and the margaritas were as well. We will return!
Good food, great ambiance, excellent view of the city of Portland.
Let's start by saying that view is to die for. Mix that with some evening cocktails as the sun sets and you've got one of the best experiences in your life. We waited for a window seat and I'm glad we did because the view is so worth the wait. The steak was absolutely melt in your mouth goodness and the jambalaya was so good with fatty shrimp all laced in it. Definitely will have to go again. I would suggest reserving a spot online though, as they are always super busy. That's what we did and it made our wait time that much better.
Don't sit at the bar. Food is great good drinks bartenders lazy
Gorgeous views! Exquisite and timely service! Rainbow trout with wilted spinach salad attractive and delicious!
I ve never been to a restaurant more than 30 stories above the surface and not enjoyed the experience. It was late in the evening and it was a week day. Things were slowing down all over the city but PCG was still going.
Great food, great prices, great veiws! Customer service is unbeatable.
The view is awesome! Go for sunday happy hour, but get there early and expecting a wait.
Beautiful view around sunset time. We went early without a reservation and didn't have any problem getting in. The mixed drinks were outstanding - very well balanced. We ordered sushi, salads, and crab cakes. Everything was great, and we would absolutely come back again.
1st time going to PCG, as a native Portlander, I've been told about it a lot but was still impressed when we randomly went in for dessert. The view is breathtaking and we were lucky enough to grab the last window seat in the bar! Their dessert was phenomenal, though the service could have been a bit better.
Went for happy hour which was great. Good food, drinks, and amazing views. The service was also quick and attentive.
Very disappointed with everything, especially with how much we heard about this place. The only thing we enjoyed besides the view was the pork belly appetizer. The only time we saw our server was during drink and food order and when he asked for our parking pass. My husband asked for drinks 2 different times, he never got his order. Our steaks were burnt and dry and we ordered it medium rare. Definitely would not recommend this place. I would rather spend another my money somewhere else.
Great place, food, service, view. A little loud, though.
Great view and the food was delicious!! Spencer gave us wonderful service!!
Overall, decent experience. When we received bread the butter was already half gone and had been used by someone else and put on our plate. Upon telling the server he just shrugged it off with a meh and not even an apology. Service was sub par. PCG has been good in the past but it seems as if it has diminished. Will not return.
The service was brilliant. Grey, our waitress was professional, attentive, knew the menu and was just overall, a genuinely nice person! The reason for the 3 is that the food was waaaay to salty. I got the stir fry and my partner the steak. There was a problem with his order but they were awesome about it. So overall, service and setting was 5/5 but food was meh.
Spent my birthday at Portland City Grill tonight. Great drinks, excellent service and spectacular views!! Very special night well worth the price.
Edit*
I think I forgot to mention a few other special things about PCG. This restaurant is located on the 30th floor and I was so surprised to see the elevators upgraded they were fancy select the floor from a iPad screen. The dinner was candlelight and very romantic. My boyfriend took me out for my birthday and PCG did everything to ensure my night was perfect.
The sushi is good-- fresh and not terribly expensive considering where you are. The views are unparalleled!
Happy hour rocks! And view is pretty good too...Mt Hood seen thru haze. First visit on sunny Friday afternoon. Nice selection of draft taps, and very tasty appetizers at reasonable prices. Hope to return.
As always a fantastic place for dinner and it was wonderful watching the fireworks from about the city limits
It's what you would expect. The view is great. Very romantic
I tried the Pork Tenderloin with Garlic mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were perfect! No lumps. The pork was amazing as well. Juicy and tender, not dry at all. Would love to go back.
Long wait, great views if you get the right spot. Very busy. Yummy food.
Had a wonderful time! Food a bit over priced and did not like the spring roll. Other than that it was great!
Was very nice and the view was great 30 stories up is where the restaurant is
I'll always be a fan of this place. Wonderful view, cocktails, appies, service. I suggest going for happy hour right when it opens because it fills up very quickly
The view of the role of the 30 very beautiful p Portland .. Their service is beautiful and dishes somewhat sweet .. Especially the fish with rosito was bitter delicious
If you have a car and stop them under the positions they stamp p receipt search be your position for free
Went for our anniversary, the staff took the time and made the effort to make it special. Food was great, atmosphere was awesome, view was spectacular. Highly recommend
Gentleman, any ladies top date night spot. A fun spot for a fun night.
During a conference visit to Portland, the Portland City Grill was recommended to me for dinner by the receptionist in the Portland Marriott citing the good food and the city views. A co-worker and I decided to go for dinner. Although the decor is nice, we both found that there was a stuffy, unfavorable smell in the dining area. That was our first impression. We opted to stay and wanted to wait for a table by sitting at the bar. They let us know that it would be about 20 minutes, so we ordered a soda and a cup of tea to pass the time. About the time the table was ready, I reached in my back pocket for my wallet and at the same time a waiter was passing carrying multiple plates. Since he was passing very fast in my blind spot, the back of my arm must have grazed one of his plates and that plate went down to the floor. He kept walking in disgust, I guess, as he didn't look back and placed the remaining plate on the other customer's table. Upon his return, I apologized profusely and he said "No problem" very dismissively. I guess that I could understand that he was upset, but I too now had grease spot on my shirt and the collision, in my opinion, was of equal fault. Basically, my motion was to sit up and reached to my back pocket for my wallet so I suspect he walked very closely behind me. Later when I tried to apologize yet again, he decided to ignore me altogether. I guess the combination of the smell and the questionable reception by their wait staff was enough for us to decide to leave. We did decide to go to Departure instead which had an even nicer city view and the food was great. I would recommend the latter given my experience.
Very nice restaurant, great view of the city and surrounding area. Food was excellent accompanied by a great wine selection. Definetly eating here again
Top notch service and the food is 5 star! Great view as well
Best view in the city. Portland City Grill feels like two places. The piano bar has a cool vibe that's great at happy hour. It's popular and the waitresses are in demand. Best to be decisive and pro active in ordering. The main restaurant is upscale. The wait staff are attentive but some are not as sharp as Morton's or Ruth Chris. Food is always excellent. I usually get a steak which is good but they're big on fish too. The cocktails are decent. Obviously a table by a window is a luxury if you're fortunate to get one. Definitely a great place to bring people from out of town.
Overpriced and the food is not great. There view however is the only thing that worth your visit.
Great service. Hands down one of the best views in Portland. Their sushi is made with real crab and their duck confiet with steam buns were amazing. Dinner here is a real treat. Tasty cocktail with a lot of variety. I wanted to try more but my stomach couldn't take more.
Excellent food, excellent staff, and excellent views!
Excellent food, cocktails and service. Plus the view.
They are really accommodating me and my severe nut allergy. Kindness from all staff is really appreciated.
Awesome view . Awesome food. Awesome staff and awesome bar ... :)
They are serving rolls and other tapas but you should definitely go to have meat. They are serving one the best meats I have ever had. Beside they a very good wine selection and cocktail menu. The view over Portland is the plus.
I had a lot of fun here being there at night showed the most amazing view the staff was also great.
What a view! Order a key lime martini (not on menu anymore)
Amazing view. Wonderful menu. An excellent experience
This is an amazing place to just have a drink and enjoy the views! Do it doing happy hour!
The food for happy hour is crazy small portions but still a really nice deal for a place to get dressed up and eat with a view. Our waiter was nice but forgetful I think because they had him working the whole bar on his own :( . I'd for sure do it again but I'd eat a little on my own in advance so I don't get hungry.
The view is great and service is "high-end", but the food and the pricing are not really my favorite.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Portland and you can see the downtown Portland from these nice view
I really enjoy the view of Portland City Grill your on top of the world! The food is good and the staff is pleasant.
Disappointed with the dinner, ordered a Rib Eye thinking that I would get the best cut of meat, but that was not the case. We had a table of 3 couples that ordered various items from the menu and the overall feeling is that Portland City Grill is relying on the atmosphere and view and lost focus on the taste and quality of food. Highly disappointed in my last visit to Portland City Grill. The price was way too high for what quality of food you get.
Service was really great!
However I did have to return my steak back to the kitchen 2 separate times in the same night because it wasn't cooked how I wanted it to be cooked and the 3rd time I got it the exterior of the steak was a bit over cooked however the Server was very kind about it and had no problem making sure I got the right steak the 2 previous times. I just wish it would have been right the first time since I was celebrating my anniversary and it was my first time there. Not only that but seeing I'm paying a good amount for my steak I did expect more.
Hopefully the next go around will be better!
Great customer service though!!
Food was amazing, view was spectacular however when we asked for our check the waiter added $100 on for his tip in addition to what we tipped. We had a party of 4 and split the check in half. No itemization and figured it out later. Very disappointed in that facf.
Service is generally good. Drink prices are steep, but all the drinks I've gotten from here are good quality. Speaking of quality, the food is incredible, if a bit spendy. Always ask for a window seat. You may not always get it, but it's worth it if you do.
We went there for my son's birthday. Gladly the usual around the corner line was shorter than usual on this cold day so that wait times were minimal. The chicken biscuits and gravy were divine as always. The main restaurant has a few tables and they have expanded with picnic tables adjacent and undercover with radiant heating during winter
View was nice, beer was cold, but the dead bugs on the windowsills made me want to avoid food.
I ve been to PCG many times. My most recent experience was brunch today. They have a very nice selection and is good quality for the price. My feedback would be to switch up the menu regularly. I ve been to this brunch 3x times over the past year and for the most part it s the same type of food each time.
They also have a great happy hour here with a variety of items and I will say they do a good job of adding things to this menu from time to time. The salmon cakes are my favorite!
As for dinner they really nail their beef shirt rib plate, it s to die for. They also have really great soups that change daily. Another great addition is sometimes they have a piano player during the evening. This adds to the already amazing ambiance of being on the 30th floor.
Really awesome location for some really mediocre food. We ordered the kung pao calamari and couldn't taste the calamari with how much breading there was and it had a wierd plastic taste. And our entrees were okay some bites were really salty others were fine (ordered the halibut) and my husband got the short rib which decent. We went for our anniversary and they had confetti and a signed card by the waitstaff on our table which was nice but I really wish the food lived up to the awesome location.
Hit it for happy hour. Great views, friendly staff and discounted drinks. What s not to like?
The views were spectacular, but the food was truly unbelievable! The steaks were seared PERFECTLY! The Kung Pao calamari was incredible. Our waiter was efficient and friendly. Did I mention the views? AMAZING!!
Staff was very friendly and elegant and food was delicious!
Amazing food. Great steaks and seafood. Great atmosphere for dining.
Delicious food, great service, spectacular view. Reservation suggested.
Excellent food, service and environment! Highly recommend
Great location and fantastic view of the city. The happy hour menu is your best choice if you wanna stay within a budget. The beer is also delicious
I always love coming here. The food and the service are top notch and you cannot beat the view.
Love the atmosphere almost as much as the views if Portland
Portland's best overall restaurant/bar. Sure there are more trendy places that will come and go. But this is the restaurant you take your sweetheart to on a date. It's the place you take your mother or father to for brunch. It's the place where you start the evening at when your friends are visiting from out of town. It's also the restaurant my wife and I had our wedding dinner at. Happy Hour at the piano bar is also great fun.
