It's a little seedy, they've made a museum of robotics things a little basic. It is not expensive but if it were free I would say that to have a cool time is not bad. Maybe with small children it is fine but bigger children is a bit of a roll and short.

This s the best museum that I have ever been to so far, it has so many interesting finds, all the detailed hand crafted boats models, and blueprints of the order boats, great gift store, absolutely kids friends place ever been!!!!

A real fun place with lots of interactive exhibits related to science and very specifically robotics. The museum store has many items related to the exhibits and the staff engage with the visitors throughout the museum. Take time to walk around the MIT campus after visiting the museum and set aside a whole morning or afternoon for it if possible.

There was scope for so much more, given MIT's achievements, that I felt disappointed. Nothing about the web, at all. Robotics and kinetic sculpture sections were captivating but I left feeling unsatisfied.

If you love science, particularly physics, you will enjoy this museum. I found it kind of interesting. Most of it was dedicated to the science of movement and part of it to image and video. It is actually pretty small, and you can easily get through it in about an hour. There is an extensive part of the museum that feature boat construction. I expected something totally different going there (like cutting edge tech, robotics etc.), but I still enjoyed it.

It's nice to see the robots you've seen so many times elsewhere. Holograms are nice too. But generally the museum is really basic. There was an exhibition of Arthur Ganson works which was really really awesome.

Fun little museum of tech goodies. Good history lesson in a wide range of technologies. Not sure about pricing but if affiliated with MIT, you get in for free! They also host events in the evenings with famous speakers.

Very cool museum that s not very big. I think usually entrance isn t free but apparently it was the last weekend of the month or something so it was free entry when I was there. I was very impressed by the robot section.

As far as college tech museums go, this is probably the one to go to. When I went, the downstairs area wasn't as interesting as the upstairs displays. I was especially interested in the current students' work, and it was cool to see how the "historical" items (e.g. robots) compared with today's students' creations.

Embrace your inner nerd at this brilliant place (for a true history lesson, though, observe the tiles in the Kendall/MIT Red Line T Stop). Pro Tip: Two-for-one adult tickets if you show your Charlie Card; free on Sundays until noon. Highlights: (Arthur Ganson) Kinetic Sculptures, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Processing, Holograms (featuring Kismet, the oddly adorable robot).

While a number of the exhibits tend to be pretty interesting and many come for the robotics, for me the real draw is the Arthur Ganson exhibit. I would recommend against looking up Ganson s work beforehand, so as not to spoil the experience of discovering the work. In any case, the $10 general admission fee is with the Ganson exhibit alone.

Also, this museum probably has one of the most accessible and fun gift shops in the Boston area, which is weird to say. If you re looking for MIT merch, heading down the street to the MIT Coop is a much better bet, at least in terms of selection.

"This museum has an eclectic mix of interesting exhibits that make it worth a few hours for young people to visit. We went to a lot of museums and this museum has a lot of things we haven't seen before. The exhibits include the history of artificial intelligence, holograms, Use of cameras and still photos in scientific discoveries, and creative machines designed by MIT students-including some that you can play and use. Our entire family loves them. It is highly recommended! "

I loved everything about the place except the service. The front desk service was fine but the people on the 2nd floor assumed my sister and I were going to touch things when we were just pointing at and told us how they can't clean it and what not and were real jerks about it.

An interesting museum, however lacks behind in interactivity. Got "instructed" that the museum is a "looky looky, no touchy" museum! That was a bit disappointing as most contemporary museums strive to involve visitors by offering interactive exhibits. One part of it also resembled old robot hardware warehouse without descriptive information for what the purpose of the respective parts was and why were these historically significant.

Not worth going and paying entrance.

There really isn't much interesting stuff here, considering the cool stuff that MIT does.

The museum store is good. That was, sadly, the best part of this museum.

I think there is a lot more that MIT could offer in its museum

Rather small, yet fantastic museum. The seasonal exhibition 'beauty of the Brain' was simply outstanding. It was a very comprehensive journey across the timeline of tools used in brain research. From the experimental work done in the last century to the very recent methods pioneered at MIT. Simply fascinating! The other parts of the exhibition very cleverly combined art with engineering. Considering the small entry fee (5$ students, 10$ normal adults) it should be worth it, although you might want to check what is on.

What a great museum! Learn about holograms, robots, high speed photography. See intriguing mechanical art from MIT students. Really a stimulated experience for those inclined. Pro tip- Behind the gift shop is a coat rack and lockers where you can store your valuables for a quarter!
