Very neat museum focused on the intersection of art and science/engineering.
Small amount of exhibits but very informative, relative and interesting.
Great place to bring your kids but staffs were not friendly.
Very cool, my kids loved the robots on the first deck and the interactive workshop. Kinda small, 2 floors, free for military and families. Killed a few hours and great food nearby when you get tired
Amazing exhibits on Ramon y Cajal's drawings of the brain
Personally I really liked it but if you are not a fan of places that require you just to look around and learn then I wouldn't recommend it but if you do like learning and witnessing what other people have created then it's a wonderful place to go.
Definitely not worth the 10bucks..can tour the whole tin can in 5mins
Better off watching it from the street
Cool exhibits and a fun place to walk around and learn.
Its okey im just recomended to have like artist things in the subenirs but thats all.
Great museum. I loved the hands on classes for the kids. Very interactive.
Great museum. Some of the older exhibits need some TLC.
An amazing collection of pieces of everything from engineering to architecture to art. Sheds a musuem-like point of view on many types of modern sciences. This musuem is fit for all ages and there are also discounts for students!
Awesome things on display, lots of great toys, books, and gadgets in the shop. Great for all ages
It is not worth visiting. They had a very high expectation of what I was going to see in this museum, I was totally disappointed. They have no technology on display, which in my opinion should be the museum's fort.
So much amazing history missing. MIT deserves a much bigger site. Great shop and staff though.
A lot of cool exibits. Great for anyone interested in science, especially robotics.
Lots of interesting things to see at MIT - the work by students and faculty is always impressive! You can read the details if you like but if not, there s lots of interactive pieces throughout.
First visit science museum. This is a small museum.
Small quirky collection of fun nerdy things created by MIT communtity.
Very enjoyed the museum! Despite the name, it s not really though an MIT Museum (it has little of MIT s history per se), but more like a museum of technology that came out of it. It s a great spot to come alone (it s not so large) or with friends and family, and there are some interactive activities that children can also participate (at specific hours).
Many wonderful exhibits. We've visited several times. The kinetic sculptures and the robotics displays are always interesting. My favorite is the LISP machine. Most of the many visitors during our Free Fun Friday visit had no idea what they were walking past.
It's a nice musuem but very small and has limited exhibits.
expected to be free and or more hands on and interactive. $10 to walk through what is mostly storage for old equipment was a bit much.
Very fun! I loved the mechanical machine art room! Those art pieces should be iconic!
I expected a lot more technology, and I personally think it is worth about $3 per adult.
Good Polaroid exhibition and interesting depictions of very recent research on the ground floor. The part about shipbuilding was not so ours but the part with the machines was pretty cool.
I am disappointed that such a prestigious institution like MIT has such a modest museum compared to its coat of arms. I was expecting a lot more and instead I lost 2 hours between moving and visiting.
Loved it. Just nice to see what they have accomplished and some really awesome mechanical gimmickry.
Place to visit. So many goodies of history of technology, in reality seen the coat of arms I would have expected something more. It always remains a place to visit but if you are a real nerd you may be disappointed
For those of us who like engineering, it's a place we should definitely visit ... My little boy loved it
Enjoyed the experience.. could gather a lot of insights in technology
Pretty small but has a very cook kinetic art collection
Small, but cheap, especially for students. The exhibits are 100% worth it, lots of fascinating things that aren't done justice except by physical proximity. Well worth your time, especially the "gestural engineering" installations.
Interesting. Just about what you would expect it to be.
They accept GoBostonCard
Note: parking is outrageous in this area. If all possible, find street parking. We paid $20 for just over an hour in the closest lot.
To be fair, the robot exhibition was mildly interesting - that will take five minutes to walk through. The whole "museum" can be toured in thirty... With very little gained from it. Definitely not worth the money, sadly.
I did not like this museum. It is small and almost nothing to see there.
Pretty cool but the admission is a bit pricy for what is basicaly a very small place. Really cool fun and awesomely nerdy just wish the admission price was a bit more fair.
Disappointing. For being MIT..I was hoping for more..2 stars at best
Won't really recommend it. It's very small and nothing special inside. Could only guess how exhibits (photos of people from different countries, Polaroid stand, old ship models) are connected to MIT. No MIT history or interactive things. Doesn't worth $5.
I loved the photography section. Free admission if you have Bank of America card
Fantastic! Wish more people could come and get a better sense of the mixture of arts and technology.
They updated the exhibition from last year and it was awesome.
Unfortunately the welcoming staff was not very welcoming. Aside from this I highly recommend visiting, including with young children.
Great little museum. A bit small but if you only have time for a couple exhibits then well worth it.
The robots were really cool as we're the tube Goldberg type sculptures on the second floor.
From the great conceptual motorized sculptures to current innovations to the history of technology... And even art... This is a fun and stimulating small museum, a short walk from the MIT main campus, and a little further from Harvard.
A small but amazing museum, my whole family learned a lot from there sailing, mechanic construction design. This is a unique museum I have ever visited.
Disappointing. The Technologie shown in the exhibition was already old when I studied 15 years ago. All shown topics, videos and technologies are outdated and it does not reflect the position and meaning this university has. It needs an update urgently.
10$ is too much for this.
Entry fees $25 per adult. Was expecting more for that entrance fees.
Remarkable and profound hands-on exhibits (Idea Hub not just for kids)! Project-based learning is really the best way to learn, followed by teaching what you've just learned to others! The creative energy of MIT is infectious!
Great exhibition! For those who bring kids will definitely love it!
It was a cool place. The exhibits could have been better or more interesting but it was a cool experience. No food or drinks allowed, so don't bring your coffee unless you want to leave it at the front desk
Small museum, but not expensive either, which presents us with some pieces that have marked the history of artificial intelligence and robotics, holograms, very ingenious animated sculptures and some playful experiences rather geared towards the youngest (but you can handle ferrofluid ..). In short, count a big hour of visit.
This museum was so interesting and fun! My two teen girls loved it. They said they learned more here than they would have sitting at school.
A cool museum, but I have to echo others in that it was much smaller than expected and seemed to only feature much older projects. A contemporary area would be nice!
This was so dumb I thought these people made rockets or something
I was disappointed. It was smaller and leas extensive than I had expected. The displays that were there were of a high quality but I didn't really get an overall view of MIT and how it has spanned the years. I did enjoy the display of mechanical artworks (see picture) which was a great example of human ingenuity. Kudos for the free wifi which is widely available.
Awesome place with great history about Science and Technology.
I thought this was going to be a lot cooler than it was. Not sure if it was worth the $10 per person we paid to get in. I thought there would be a lot more to see and do. The stuff they did have was very interesting, but for MIT it was a let down. I thought there would be a lot more history of the great alumnus that have made MIT what it is today.
