That is MIT Museum it a rare place with days of activities and exhibits to explore and learn. I would recommend taking two visits to take in all the extraordinary historical finds and nature. The science of the earth is amazing to see all the theories. A family could spend all day here . So maybe come early, take a break for a meal and then explore the rest of the place or just plan two visits to be able to enjoy each educational exhibit fully. Most of the exhibits are interactive and fun for all ages.

Really nice little museum space right in Cambridge that s a bargain at $10 for admission.

It doesn t have a ton of gallery space but it s impressively curated and really showcases MIT s focus on the intersection between art and science.

There were three main exhibits, Lighter, Stronger, Faster: The Herreshoff Legacy which looks at the legacy of New England Ship Building. Gestural Engineering: The Sculpture of Arthur Ganson, which involved wonky, crank or pedal powered Ganson machine that spring into motion. Finally, the marquee exhibit was The Polaroid Project: At the Intersection of Art and Technology.

The real blockbuster exhibit was The Polaroid Project. This was an absolute feast for the eyes. The curators did an excellent job in walking you through the history of the Polaroid and then showing you how use and techniques developed with works by over 175 artists. Beautiful space, I could have spent half a day in here.

Ganson s sculptures were awesome. Quirky, fun, at times sad and melancholy - you could stay in here for hours. (Pretty kid friendly too).

The ship building exhibit was interesting, while definitely not my cup of tea, I learned a lot about the craft and the blistering pace of design to win the President s Cup.

Excellent place to motivate kids with technology and creativity. It's quite small, but is ok.
Robots are awesome and the Arthur Ganson' works is unbelievably poetic.
Last Sunday of month tickets are free.

Somewhat disappointed. Having heard what a great institution MIT is for most of my life, I was expecting to see a lot more in this museum. It's definitely overpriced for the number of exhibits in the museum.

I went to the MIT museum on one of Bank of America's free museum weekends. You bring your BofA card and ID and you get in for free on specific days.

I thought it was great how many people they had out doing demos and interacting with the material. I especially liked that you could make little aluminum boats and see how many pennies they hold.

There was an exhibit associated with Polaroid when I was there as well as some cool metal sculptures that moved with the use of gears.

It took maybe an hour to go through everything. I'm not sure it would have been worth it to pay full price unless you have kids. Part of the museum was also in transition and was closed off when I was there (early November).

The museum is just a 5 minute walk away from the main campus. It has a very friendly staff and a wide array of exhibits. The second floor has some pretty amazing stuff that are both interactive and educational. Great place to stop by for families or prospective students

Interesting stuff for all ages! Loved the mechanical section! Check their web page before going because they have a variety of learning sessions happening. I never thought I would say this but their gift shop had some really cool items that I have never seen before.

Pretty good value for $10USD. The robotics section seems a bit old nowadays but interesting history of singe of the things we are now seeing. The big bang data section was really interesting and up to date.

Nice and interesting expo, is smallest than I think, good gift shop, a little difficult to used the elevators when I was with my baby I have to lift the stroller upstairs. Price for the tickets is no expensive but don't think you go to expend more than 1 hour inside.

We came for the robots and tech. There are ZERO robots or tech. Just a few pictures from eastern Europe taken by an alumni, a few kinetic sculptures and a bunch of boat models.
By far the most useless museum I've ever been to.
The store is fine.
Skip this museum, life is too short to waste time in there.

A bit too small to be honest. I was hoping for a larger area with many crazy tech items, that part was rather limited.
However, the exhibitions are still rather nice, clean and well organized.
Shop area is a bit too cramped.

There are two floors with the upper being much larger than the lower. The lower floor has technology and the like, but the upper floor is just an art exhibit. If you're looking for a technology exhibit, go elsewhere.
