Some cool exhibits, about 8 in total. Good for spending an hour. Adult admission is 10 USD.
This is a very good place for us to get educated as a engineering student! I love this place due to how everything in there is lively and original. I get to learn lots of amazing things about robots and artificial intelligent. Overall, I would recommend you guys to this amazing place!
Cool exhibits, low key vibe, inexpensive admission, on street parking, cool store
Very interesting museum that teaches you and surprises you about science and engineering while having fun. The museum also proposes a workshop of creation according to the object of the exhibition and other activities on inscription. In family or between friends, it is a museum not to be neglected when one comes to Boston. Also note that admission is free every last Sunday of the month. Ideal for small budgets. And for those who want to know more, a bookstore a few steps from the museum offers a pannel of choice in terms of books and for all seniors :).
It s interesting. Very small. And I think it would be better if they had more emphasis on computing.
Nifty little museum; shouldn't take more than an hour or so. More history and art orientated than you likely think, and a fair amount on boat making.
Pretty cool collections of artifacts and historical objects. The second floor is very fun! Also a lot of interesting and silly merchandise can be found in the gift shop!
I liked it very interesting, especially for engineers
High reputation but not really worth to visit. No big thing to show. Save your money for another museum or just walk in the campus of MIT is more funny and free.
I guess I was expecting to see the past projects together with the present innovative pieces, but there are only 4-5 rooms and they show 1980-90 projects.
They need to put more interesting stuff on first floor. It is not overpriced. It was worth it
Free admission if you have a BoA account! Highly recommend physical computing installation corner by MIT architecture students located on the 2nd floor.
A great site to see if you're in Cambridge, MIT has lots of rich history, the museum showcases it well. Strong focus on robotics as well as interactive displays.
A great museum to visit, whether you are a fan of technology or not, the Rube Goldberg machines are fascinating and the exhibits very interesting! In short, a museum of modest size certainly, but at the height of the university it represents!
An exciting and thrilling place. It Sparks on creativity and love for science. It is small but extremely well built.
Best-kept open secret in Boston. Over the years, my wife and I have taken 8-year-olds through 80-year-olds here, and they all had a great time. The most difficult invite was a teenaged girl who didn t like science and math . Even she admitted afterwards that she had a fantastic time there.
Very professional and courteous. Even gave my car a wash and cleaned which is really appreciated greatly.
The place is small, for some visitors the place may not be what you would expect from MIT.
Display reduced and not very attractive.
Very improvable if they enable radiation that looked in remodeling
Definitely a good destination for engineers and engineering enthusiasts. The place is a lot smaller than I expected!!!
Very nice and interesting museum with very special exhibits. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area!
If you have time when you're here, definitely check it out.
Smaller than I expected but some really cool things.
Small musuem but worth tov visit. Nice robotics IA stuff
A must do; $10 for adults and $5 for students.
Very interesting exhibits.
With girlfriend~
Pretty amazing working combining engineering and art.
The store offers something amazing!
Just because something is from MIT does not automaticly make it good or novel or valuable. Lame robotics exhibit 1st floor other schools were way ahead, no tie ins to today's issues etc. 2nd floor boat exhibit and Poloroid we're good, but not great, need to do much more to make engaging.
Amazing, fascinating, and educational. I felt completely inspired when I left.
The museum has a small(ish) to medium collection of interesting feats of technology.
I visit monthly. The MIT museum located in Cambridge, Massachusetts is excellent for lovers of science and technology.
History lovers also remain fascinated by his large collection of photos.
Highly recommended!
Loved this. Small and well curated. Great for what it is.
Nice experience to have for people who are more interested in engineering
Amazing museum!
Awesome robots and other cool stuff.
Went there with the son who is as geeky as I am. Lets just say it was very hard to leave. Will certainly be back to finish the exhibit tour.
Nicely curated space that is a mixture of art and science
It was a great experience, there are several temporary exhibitions and the ones that I saw were really cool
Very interesting museum featuring a number of exhibits relevant to MIT. When I visited, the ground floor showed a number of robotic devices and the upper are had lots of interesting displays about ship architecture, including drawings, notebooks, models and a number of other things. Pretty specific, but very interesting. There were also a number of mechanical art pieces on display as well as a very interesting photo exhibit about the Bauhaus movement.
Very interesting but not diverse enough in the presentations.
Nice but in need of improvement. For freaks like me ;-)
With a Student discount (Valid ID) it was only $5 for me. Also fascinating display for me as I am a Computer Science major.
An interesting mix of displays. Plenty to learn here. I was very impressed with the kinetic sculptures on display. Though this may have been a temporary exhibit.
A fun place to visit, for adults and kids alike. Highly recommended if you are visiting the MIT campus.
A great combination of science and design. Small but super inspiring for people interested in mechanisms driving the world.
It is a place where diverse types of creative ideas are found up to artificial intelligence. And, if they can go inside the MIT, the laboratories are great, all within reach of students to develop their creativity.
Take a whole day to spend here! We went late morning/early afternoon and ran out of time. Paid extra to see the shows they had on, differ depending on the day. Lots of history and educational info
Very little museum, 10 admission fee is a bit high considering the exhibitions.
The robot section, to be fair, is not worth it.
I also visited the Polaroid exhibition, so better than the downstairs one.
Awesome place to spend a few hours learning about science and inventions
Lots of interesting exhibits, especially great for kinetic sculptures.
Not a terrible place but not that impressive. Paid ten bucks to get out of the heat for a while.
Very interesting items on display, interesting backstories on them as well. Makes me wish I attend MIT myself. Makes me want to create.
Cool little museum with two floors of various displays ranging from architecture and design to robotics and funny technological art installations. Some very impressive items like the first Polaroid camera. The information provided is often quite general... would love to have more in depth explanations of the items on display, ie. the physics/chemistry behind.
There is currently an instructive exhibition on how the brain works.
Fun spot for both kids and adults. Interactive pieces set this museum apart from regular museums.
Very good place, has offbeat exhibits, especially really simple and innovative robots from the MIT Labs. Must visit. Gesture sculptures were one of its kind!
Lots of interesting exhibition. It costs $10 per person. Still worth it.
This very great place to start your trip. Please watch all automatic machine, specially hand writing machine.
When at Boston you should visit this nurturing museum.
If you like mechanisms and tech you definitely should visit it. Last Sundays of the months are free.
It's free if you have a Bank of America debit/credit card! Quality depends heavily on the exhibits currently shown.
Quite dated. Some interesting stuff, but needs an update badly.
This museum is really worth a visit if you are in the area. It features a ton of cool robotics and pieces of art, much of it made by MIT students and faculty. Most of it mixes art with technology in very intriguing ways. The museum is a bit small, but it is definitely worth seeing.
