I regretted visiting this place. My visit was Aug 21, 2018. I was deceived by the name of MIT, while the content was very poor. A large section was under renovation, they should be ashamed accepting payment for their entry tickets. Staff are very nervous and over alert for any movement of guests especially children. You should train them how to help guests not warn them every minute.

This place is quite the gem. I've always wanted to go here and finally got the chance. Boston has always been a great source of learning the sciences for me. I was utterly shocked to see a Robotic piece I loved at the Museum of Science as a child in this exhibit! Really brought back many fond memories. This is a must go to attraction for anyone devoted to the sciences.

The rickety old store-front building that houses the MIT Museum is hiding in plain sight, tucked away on Mass Ave between the main campus and Central Square. Really, you have to look for it. Once you make it through a disorganized lobby/giftshop, inside is a stunning, well-curated collection of achievements in robotics, neurology, photography, engineering and other fields that can exist nowhere else. After all, this is THE MIT. Most of the exhibits are on the second floor and a couple of hours is all you need to take in the collection and catch an occasional presentation. It is fairly childproof and child-accessible. The discounts for admission are numerous so check and admission is free the last Sunday of every month September to June.

This museum is small but compact, filled with intriguing machines and contraptions made by MIT students and professors throughout the years. There were also many cool interactive activities. The visit doesn't take long but truly is a great experience.

The MIT museum is a great place for learning. If you enjoy science, technology and engineering, as well as some art then this is the museum for you. It's a smaller museum but you can spend a good 2+ hours if time isn't an issue.

Very small museum, but tons of awe inspiring stuff. Go to second floor and be amazed by the holographic display! :) when you see the display for the holographic microscope, follow the directions, and prepare for your jaw to drop.

Relatively small museum. It is open every day. One may mistake that it only consists of one floor. You will see right at the entrance the stairs to the second floor. The gift shop is especially good for stuff for children. Student projects are also exhibited.

Cool exhibits, but not really a lot of stuff to see. This is probably a good pick for adults or slightly older kids (assuming they have an interest in the intersection of art and science). Younger kids are probably not a great fit for this museum, generally speaking.

Okay museum. I was expecting allot cooler things to see invented by smart people. But I was very unimpressed other than the ship building information and history. Other than that is more geared towards little kids in way but not exactly a good museum. Worth $5 bucks or free.

my basement is more interesting than this place. id rather wheel around a recycling bin and pick up trash. Its more art than robotics and science. After seeing this museum I wonder how MIT is the best college.

We loved it. 3 kids and 6 adults and we all enjoyed the experience. And I was able to get in free for having banking with bank of America. And students (with student ID or email) get in free also.

MIT Museum is different from MIT science Museum. When I went few exhibit areas are closed for renovation. The second floor had fascinating mechanical displays which were really cool.

Small but certainly intriguing. Lots of robotic stuff, both scientific and simply fun. In fact there are sections where you find objects at the intersection between art and technology. Worth a visit. The gift shop is an attraction in its own right, with a large selection of geeky toys, and t-shirts

The MIT Museum is a hidden jewel - admission is inexpensive (especially with a student ID), and the kinetic sculpture exhibit is amazing! Rotating exhibits are engaging as well, but the kinetic sculpture exhibit should not be missed.

Intriguing exhibits in a Museum that stimulates the mind. A unique museum of ideas that is associated with a university that has produced some of America s most influential thinkers in a wide range of fields, from the theatre to molecular physics.

This is an interesting place for people who want to learn something and are interested in technology. You can see everything here. There is also art. Not too crowded but people and everyone is kindly welcomed and asked to pay.

I've been coming to this museum for many years. In the past, the kids with me enjoyed the many interactive exhibits. THEY ARE ALL GONE. Even the staff at the door didn't know what I was talking about. The kids couldn't wait to leave; they were so disappointed and bored. For me, it was a waste of the admission fee.

I am usually not that impressed by science museums, but this was quite interesting. The MIT developed robots were cool. Also I liked the technical art installations and the projects of MIT students.
