Great historical village. They need to update the place, as the prices are really high for what they offer. Also, we were excited by the idea of traditional food, but there was a very limited traditional menu. Otherwise it was mainstream food and drinks.

Great information and so hands-on! Watched bead and candle-making, talked to people in character, and could literally walk in both Native American and Pilgrim sites and touch furs, wooden spoons, sit on chairs, etc! Didn't do any add-on tours to the grist mill. Three hours for just plantation was worth it and great. Food and souvenirs, too!

Wonderful place. It's always exiting for our family to learn about other tribes. Beautiful place for the hole family lots of walking and that's always great for us. We even seen a viking ship setting sail. The experience never gets old. A+

It's all a bit sad. A few decades ago the place was probably novel and interesting. Now it's a bracing reminder of the dullness of Pilgrim life. Several excellent village actors saved the day for us. Worth the admission - barely.

It was an amazing experience to be par of this living history. The people is friendly and patient with all the questions we may have. There is a shopping place for souvenirs. There is a cafeteria. We visited the museum during Thanksgiving and we felt as living in 1620.

It's an adventure like no other around! Take a trip back in history and talk with the pilgrims about their every day lives, and visit the Wampanoag homesite to speak with native people about their lives today and all through history.

This is a great place to take family and large groups. However, they do have some construction happening, which is why it's only 4 stars for me. Additionallly, the actors who are role playing are generally very good at it.

A great outdoor activity. History and current experiences of Wampanoag native people are the best part of the visit. Character actors in the Plimoth Village were also great. Don't forget to visit the animals in the barn, including Hyacinth the llama!

A little crowded with school kids but thats ok cause the feeling of the "Pilgrims" or Separatists is so strong there! The reenactors were great doing their roles! Got to walk into my 10th grandfather's house!

It was awesome. At Plymouth Plantation, there were real Wompanoag Native Americans who you could talk with and ask questions. They told us all about their tribal traditions and practices. There was also a replica of a middle english village with historical actors in period dress who spoke as if they were living in that time period. They were all extremely knowledgable and I learned a lot.

Take the kids and help them learn their heritage (In most cases)! Many kids (sadly not as many as there should be) are aware that the pilgrims were the first settlers to come from England. But probably over 90% haven't a clue where Plimoth Rock or who Squanto is... Which is awful.

It was like stepping back in time into the 1700s. It was eye-opening not only myself and my wife but more importantly for my children, to see the way that the early settlers lived compared to the Native Americans that were already there. Learning each from each side story; how to grow corn to make bread, why they moved in the first place, how long of a was it from the Dutchland, etc. I was very impressed with the quality and the heat retention provided by the winter houses of the Wampanoag. I prefer them to the settlers cottages after seeing both! Lol. After your trip back in time is over, enjoy some of the native foods such as butternut squash, turkey succotash and apple crumble. This was very unique and surprisingly good.

It is definitely worth going at least once, and your kids will not forget it... and they might even learn something while they're there.

Very nice replica of an early village. Similar in style to Sturbridge Village, but an earlier version and much more condensed. The kids especially liked the actors/actresses that were very cordial.

I learned so many things I didn't know. For instance, Myles Standish (who is my ancestor) married his 2nd wife who came over on the Ann the next year. The actor I spoke with who was playing the part of his 2nd wife told me that the Pilgrims were terrified of the native Americans in those early years. They thought they were demons or worse and had zero contact with them. When I asked her about the first meal giving thanks with the native Americans, she said there were none and there was no "meal giving thanks", that every meal they give thanks to the Lord but there was no one celebration that she knew of. I asked her where they got oil, corn and other items. She said they traded with the French, or just waited for the next shipment from England. Apparently, there were shipments from England every year, sometimes twice a year.

I was impressed by the knowledge of the re-enactors. You feel like your talking to someone in the 17th Century. Beautiful view. Looking forward to going on the Mayflower II, which I think is being restored.

Maybe due to it being off season there were not alot of people portraying the past, only 3 native Americans ,buildings were interesting, sites seamed small although it was a small community at that time due to sickness, but we found it interesting we would recommend but maybe during tourist season.

We had visited the Plantation 4 years ago in April. Lots of activity, many residents telling us all about both the Native American village and the pilgrim settlement.
We raved about it to our son and his friend and talked them into going with us. We toured on July 13, 2014. Not sure if many residents were on vacation or what, but there was very little activity, like pulling teeth getting information about all the activities and instruments and tools that the Native Americans used (our last visit was a wealth of information). The Pilgrims were a little better, but no blacksmith activity, no builders at work, nothing going on. Very disappointing after our exciting description of our first visit. I doubt our son and his friends will ever go back.

I was quite disappointed with this living history museum. There was little effort put into interacting with guests at the pilgrims village and the history promoted was very biased and somewhat irrelevant.

Our granddaughter and we loved our team here. 1 hr special tour to Native American village. Our guide Tim was so knowledgeable. Wish there were more activities in the English settlement. Lots of walking hard for my husband.

We visited on Sunday June, 23, 2013. Unfortunantly, the "interactive" villages were hardly that. We found the Indian village to be staffed with 3 guides who did a fairly good job of informing the visitors about the history and answered questions gladly.

However, the "colonists" , whom we were promised would be engaging and would talk with us in 1600's character, were scarce and actually walked away from visitors. I never could find even one of these folks who would aknowledge our presence.

Hugely disappointing and is NOT worth your money!!!!

A very fun place to visit. The actors and actresses were in character the whole time and was very educational. I would although recommending not going to the Native American section of the place because it was very much like a human zoo.

The Pylimoth Plantation was wonderful. We had all the trimings of a thanksgiving. We got to socialize with others and at our table. At our table we had a family from California. It was a pleasure to be with. The store was amazing. They had a room with the history of the pilgrims. A,place worth going to and see more when I go back. I like to tour the village next time. So cold .The coldest Thanksgiving in a 100 years they said on the news. Pictures with the pilgrims too. Go check it out.

The talk by the Colony elder on religion in Plimoth/England was worth the price of admission all by itself! However, the crafts area, Wampanoag village and other interactions in the Colony area made the trip more than worth it.

I m from New England, my husband is not. I went here as a kid so I figured hey, he might like this, let s make a day of it. And so we did.

I totally understand we re still in the midst of a pandemic and businesses are required to abide by state restrictions/regulations in order to operate. Wearing masks, social distancing, roping off areas that would normally see high traffic all make sense and are perfectly reasonable requirements/actions.

What wasn t reasonable was continuing to charge full price for admission ($32) even though a large portion of the exhibits were closed/roped off. We had no idea we wouldn t be able to walk into huts or houses to view things.

I think it would ve been nice if they were like Due to the pandemic and limited access to exhibits and other areas we are discounting standard admission tickets. Even if they made the fact that a decent number of areas would be roped off and inaccessible more blatant to their walk-in visitors it would ve been fair. We just felt cheated.

Also! If I am mistaken and $32 is less than the normal gen admission price or if the areas I ve mentioned are normally [pre-pandemic] roped-off then please let me know and I ll take this review down immediately. Otherwise, my advice to anyone thinking about going right now: hold-off until things are...back to the way they were?

Great living history museum. Loved speaking with the characters! Learned so much. Went with 15yr and 12yr. Very small so you don t need that much time. When you are finished here go see Plymouth Rock and get something yummy to eat there. Due to covid the place is low key but still lots of learning in a super fun interactive way. $25/person. Open 9a-5p.

You don't realize the value you are getting into you pay first and then visit the plantation. It's not bad, but definitely not worth $28. We completed the self tour in 1-1.5 hours. I would put the value of this tour at $10. No more than that.

Really informative and enjoyable to explore. Some walking paths through wooded area, some moderate slopes, and extensive outdoor areas. Fsther inlaw has mobility challenges, and a staff with a golf cart helped him get around - such a great kindness for folks who don't get around so easily. The staff and character roles were helpful and fun to interact with!

We did the history tour of Plymouth. The recreated village was excellent. My wife was able to converse with 4 of her Pilgrim ancestors. The other 2 had the day off.!! She really enjoyed the whole thing and found it all very informative. I had come here years ago on a school outing and was not sure what they would have.
The next day we had Thanksgiving Dinner and that weekend ate the Harvest Meal at PP. Excellent again.
We went aboard the Mayflower also. They have a package deal on this grouping. We also did the Pilgrim Hall and Mayflower descendants Library.
All and all it was great fun. The ancestral link and the fact we live on a farm added lots of interest. I would spend every Thanksgiving at P P if I could swing it. The attractions are not cheap ,but we wont get back for a long time I think it is money well spent.

If you want authentic re-creation of how it was in colonial/Pilgrim era this is a definite must. Everything is to scale, live actors, to scale houses and barnyard animals. It's a must do attraction. So realistic.
