As an educator this place is so well done! The actors stay in character through gardening, singing and conversation. It is really spectacular to see history truly come to life. Also visit the Mayflower just a few miles away.

I haven t been here in years but I found out the mayflower was back so I decided to visit. Came on a Sunday and paid 32.00 a piece for a ticket. I thought it included access to the mayflower but of course not that was an extra 25.00 I was with 2 other people so I couldn t afford that. Went in and saw the Wampanoag village and the Plimoth plantation houses. Saw everything in about an hour not a lot going on I assume because of the COVID but spoke to a few actors who were friendly and informative. Between the masks and they re accents some were hard to understand. I wasn t sure what to expect but for 32.00 I was very disappointed. And to charge an extra 25.00 to see the mayflower was ridiculous. Maybe it will be better next year idk. But it definitely was not worth it this year.

This was disappointing for the high price of $28. There were 3 actors that really engaged and made an effort to be in character and informative but I expected there to be a lot more than just the little village of six houses. It could use further development.

Very enjoyable way to learn about early American history. The museum and the recreated Pilgrim Plantation It will take you into the past. Character actors portray life in the Plantation in period dress. Staff are very knowledgeable about the plantation history and the characters they portray. Plan to spend an entire day with the entire family.

The place looked very historic and cool. The one problem is that the tickets to get in were not cheap. It was 15 dollars for per person and for the Mayflower, the plantation and the grind mill would cost you around 40 bucks.

A very interesting place. Takes approximately 2 hrs to explore. The experience is interactive, it is like a RPG: you talk to staff, they ask you to participate in events etc. Should be interesting to both adults and kids

It's like going back in time. The plantation staff live out the part of the early settlers by staying in character at all times and performing the daily tasks that you and I would have had to do if we were those settlement residents. You will learn a lot about the customs, religious beliefs, culture, family life and commerce as they knew it. You'd be surprised how much of American History as taught to you in textbooks is debunked here. This is a really interesting journey and you will spent about an hour to two learning more about early American life that your entire education provided on the subject.

History reinacted. Tribal village, Puritan village- real people telling their history. Alot of money recently to make it real vs dioramas.
Only had a few hours, so need to go back again and finish the entire experience.

The Wampanoag village was great because the docents were in character but not in period. They are keeping first nations culture alive. The 1627 is so much fun. The characters, the knowledge, and the realism makes the park great.

What a wonderful way to learn about history! The people in character were excellent and very willing to talk for as long as we wanted to. Additionally, they were very knowledgeable. The Plantation structures and homes were fascinating and going inside was like stepping back into the history. Great way to spend the day!

Enjoyed the native American part. The first colony enacting part I didn't like so much. It felt a little silly. You have to ask the right questions to benefit from this form of presentation so bring your open ended questions with you.

Dropped off my international visitors there yesterday, Sunday afternoon, and they saw very little to no animals and one pottery demonstrator. My family of four were very disappointed they wasted $102.00 :(((

Wonderful historical experience. I would recommend it, to people of all ages, although there is quite a bit of walking on uneven and even hilly terrain. The staff, both in character and out, are as knowledgeable and professional as you can get. Well worth the cost of admission and a great step back in time!

Not overly impressed. We were maybe expecting too much. There were literally only three Wampanoag interpreters, and a very small but enthusiastic group of "settlers" The whole place seemed to be preparing for winter. Disappointing visit and in my opinion, a missed opportunity to "wow" travellers.

Anyone interested in history like me, should make time to spend a day at the Plimoth Plantation living museum. The museum is also home to the Mayflower II, which is docked near the purported Plymouth Rock. The incredible ship is among the world s oldest wooden vessels that still sails.

As awesome and educational and inspiring as it was since I was a kid. Can't wait to go back. Just love that the plantation folk speak in period and enjoy trying to get them to break from their vernacular

I came here for Thanksgiving and it was such a fun idea. The history is amazing and the staff is remarkable. They are all so knowledgeable and you can learn something from every single one of them. It was surprisingly uncrowded.

An awesome living history museum. Being able to interact with 'pilgrims' and people with Native Heritage (real, not actors) allows for a full vision of life at that time. Super fun, gorgeous location and generally delightful.

A real must for this area. Real aborigines tell of their origin and it is possible to ask for yourself. Even the immigrants are there and in the costumes of 1600 headed and received from the time, there are people dressed as today and answer all questions. First, I recommend to watch the movie and to stick to the given plan. The bread which is baked there suburb is very tasty and gets from me also 5 stars was with cranberries.

Really cool to see how people lived hundreds of years ago. The people that work there are totally in character, so if you want to talk to them you better be ready to go back to that time in America. For example, I asked to take a picture and he looked at me funny and said "what?". I said "I'd like to take a photo of you". He said, "I don't know what your are talking about but you may do what your please.". At that point I realized what was going on and it made the rest of the visit in the village that much more enjoyable. I won't go on but you get the gist of it.

About Plimoth Plantation

Plimoth Plantation: Bringing History to Life in a New Light

Plimoth Plantation is a living history museum located in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The museum is dedicated to bringing the history of Plymouth Colony and the Indigenous homeland to life through immersive exhibits and interactive experiences. With its commitment to historical accuracy and authenticity, Plimoth Plantation offers visitors a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience what life was like for the Pilgrims and Wampanoag people who lived in the area during the 17th century.

The museum's main exhibits include the 17th-Century English Village, which recreates life in a small farming community as it would have been during the early years of Plymouth Colony. Visitors can explore homes, gardens, fields, and workshops while interacting with costumed interpreters who bring history to life through storytelling and demonstrations of traditional crafts such as blacksmithing, cooking, weaving, and woodworking.

Another major exhibit at Plimoth Plantation is Mayflower II - an authentic reproduction of one of the ships that brought English colonists to America in 1620. Visitors can climb aboard this iconic vessel and learn about its journey across the Atlantic Ocean from England to Cape Cod.

In addition to these exhibits, Plimoth Plantation also features a Wampanoag Homesite that showcases Native American culture before European contact. Here visitors can learn about traditional Wampanoag lifeways such as hunting, fishing, farming, cooking with clay pots over an open fire pit called "Mishoon", making clothing from animal hides or furs etc., all while interacting with Native American interpreters who share their knowledge about their culture.

One unique aspect of Plimoth Plantation is its commitment not only towards historical accuracy but also towards inclusivity by telling both sides of history i.e., European colonizers' perspective as well as Indigenous peoples' perspective on colonization. This approach allows visitors not only to learn about colonial history but also gain insight into how different cultures view events differently based on their own experiences.

Apart from these permanent exhibits mentioned above there are many other seasonal events held throughout each year at Plimoth Patuxet Museums including Thanksgiving Day celebrations where you can enjoy traditional food like turkey dinner with all trimmings along with live music performances by local artists etc., Harvest Festival where you can participate in activities like pumpkin carving contests or apple cider pressing demonstrations etc., Christmas celebrations where you get chance see how Christmas was celebrated during colonial times etc..

Overall if you're looking for an immersive experience that brings history alive then look no further than Plimoth Patuxet Museums! With its dedication towards historical accuracy combined with inclusivity it provides visitors an opportunity not just learn but also engage themselves fully into past times which makes it one-of-a-kind destination for anyone interested in learning more about America's colonial past!
