I learned so many things I didn't know. For instance, Myles Standish (who is my ancestor) married his 2nd wife who came over on the Ann the next year. The actor I spoke with who was playing the part of his 2nd wife told me that the Pilgrims were terrified of the native Americans in those early years. They thought they were demons or worse and had zero contact with them. When I asked her about the first meal giving thanks with the native Americans, she said there were none and there was no "meal giving thanks", that every meal they give thanks to the Lord but there was no one celebration that she knew of. I asked her where they got oil, corn and other items. She said they traded with the French, or just waited for the next shipment from England. Apparently, there were shipments from England every year, sometimes twice a year.
