I was here for a wedding and the event coordinators at Marriott were very helpful, courteous and professional. I've also been to the Marriott for dozens of other events in the past, including fundraisers, professional networking events, lectures and trade shows. A great experience every time.
Nice place . Not over the top luxurious .. but clean and nice play to stay .. great bar and food at the hotel.
4 1/2 Stars if I could. The ONLY, and I mean ONLY reason not 5 stars is the view. Not too much of one. Otherwise, from start to finish, staff is just the BEST we have encountered. It started with the young man at the Valet service who explained pricing of valet vs. parking garage. Friendly, engaging and very helpful. Front desk check-in was easy and we were able to get into our room 1 1/2 hrs. early. Room was spacious and spotless. This hotel was the furthest from PNC we had booked, so with a 92 degree day, we were a bit concerned about getting to and from the Park for the Pirates games. When we asked the young bellman, Paul K. if there was a shuttle to the game, he proceeded to inform us that Pittsburgh had a subway which would drop us at PNC. Been going to Pittsburgh for 30 years. NEVER knew of the subway. What a GREAT, GREAT bit of info that was. Easy access from the hotel. Clean, timely and dropped us right at the front door after a 10 minute ride. THANK YOU Paul !! An easy ride back to hotel. 11:00 pm room service completed a GREAT Saturday for my wife and I. Prices were VERY reasonable and food arrived still very warm. Upon leaving, the gentleman at the Valet asked us where we were headed to and gave us very specific directions on how to get back on the highway back to Buffalo. So helpful. You have a GREAT ballpark. But your city is confusing as heck so his directions were much appreciated Hats off to the whole group at this hotel. First rate ALL THE WAY ! Everything is recently renovated and pretty. Bathrooms were all very nice and clean. But continue to use the always popular ugly swirl carpets for the rooms.
I've never stayed at a hotel that maintenance had to come connect the Wi-Fi or that had absolutely no cable unless you were a subscriber to something. Even then when I did try to sign on to Netflix, again like the Wi-Fi, it would not connect. The hallways & doors literally look like prison doors. I was put in a handicap room without being told 1st or I wouldn't have taken it. In no way would I take a handicap persons access away from them willingly. I was really upset & frustrated with this hotel. Try another one & save yourself the frustration.
Good service, friendly, convenient location, lots of restaurants nearby, good facilities for a conference.
We all had an amazing stay here. Especially loved how attentive and kind the staff were especially Lee-ann and Linval in the dining room. Also enjoyed their breakfast buffet very much which includes fresh made smoked salmon.
They put on the 12th floor with a view of the room after I asked for a view floor.
Great service. Staff are amazing, food is very good. Rooms comfortable and spacious. Impeccably clean.
Great place to stay for a night or two. Modern, upscale, lively and upbeat style. Great customer service.
It was nice. Only there to have a drink. But service was nice and friendly.
Stopped for dinner. Steak was delicious and our server was great.
The hotel is a little outdated. The room was big with some empty wasted space while the bathroom was tiny and my towels appeared dirty. The lounge was small too, but the food was nice.
We had reservations for this hotel as part of a Valentine s Day evening. When we arrived, we were notified that they overbooked and was told that Marriott would pay for our nights stay and not have to pay for Valet parking but it would be at the Doubletree across the street, which is subpar in comparison. We were also told they had already notified the other hotel that we were coming. We get over to the Doubletree and they were not notified and the room was subpar compared to the Marriott. When we checked out, Marriott made us pay for the Valet Parking and as we were driving home we discovered that the Doubletree charged us for the room. It was a fiasco. We finally got our money reimbursed but we had to contact both hotels and complain. We were very upset at the whole situation. Beware of their overbooking during special occasions.
Nice hotel right in the city. Plenty of room for social events like job fairs. Has a nice modern look.
Great location. Room was very nice and the staff was friendly. The parking is a little pricey but given the location I guess that should be expected. My reservation originally stated breakfast was included but that was not the case.
Came here for a social event. Parking garage right next to the hotel.
Excellent facility for a large business meeting. Good catering and professional staff.
I've been staying here for over 10 years. Great service, always friendly staff, and always willing to help!
This is a great hotel run by a great staff! I recently stayed here as an overnight guest and held a meeting in their conference area. Danielle R. was super awesome with assisting me in finding the right space to hold a business meeting. She was my single POC from booking to arrival and did a great job accommodating our party as the event evolved. We attended a Penguins game the night before our meeting. This hotel is a short walk from the arena. I recommend this hotel to anyone like looking for a nice place to stay while attending an event at the arena or anyone looking to hold a business meeting downtown.
Great hotel for an overnight stay especially if you are attending an event at PPG Paints Arena because it is so close
Overpriced for the portions they provide but the cuisine is superb. Just don't plan on getting full from an entree.
i've been here a few times for work, hosting small workshops. The hotel is nice, the rooms are clean and the staff was pleasant. My only complaint was with banquets. They were quick to take our morning coffee and tea away without asking. We paid for it so why take it away if it's 3/4 full. When I asked for our coffee back I was given an odd response and ended up getting charged for another gallon of coffee when we had not even gone through the first. The lunch buffet did not come with dessert which I did not realize when ordering. That is pretty uncommon for lunch buffets at Marriotts so I feel like this property is a bit overpriced as far as catering goes. We have workshops every week in different cities and usually stay at full service Marriotts. I will more than likely look for a different property next time.
Today is Ed Sheehan s event, we don t know we need to print the ticket in advance. With no choice we are here trying to print them just when the event is starting. The manager refuses us with a bad attitude, even we offer to pay for it. I will never live a Marriott. Feeling suck.
The staff was very friendly and very helpful. I have no complaints.
Wonderful hotel and all of the staff is sp helpful. They even have a free shuttle to take guests back and forth to areas around town.
Cochroach in my room. They were very kind to offer me some points on my Marriott account, but so far I'm still traumatized and have been staying at the Westin instead.
Great place to stay, staff was attentive and accommodating. Great hotel near consol energy center.
I had to live in this hotel for nearly three months, as my apartment building was under construction. I had such a pleasant experience here at the Marriott. All of my interactions with each and every employee was so pleasant and professional. Shout out to Leanne (spelling?) who was so kind and pleasant when she served me coffee and water each morning for breakfast. The employees remembered my name and always took the time to say good morning. The housekeeping staff always took their time in cleaning and tidying my room, and I appreciated it each and every day.
Great Hotel for business people on week day , then family on the weekend
Gold member but did not honor request for high floor. Put me on the lowest right by the elevators and vending machines. Construction on room next for stated at 8am on a Saturday. Horrible.
One of their workers or manages was very rude. I was standing outside of the hotel this evening on my phone while I waited for a friend to go eat inside at their restaurant. He approached me and asked if I was staying at the hotel. I said No as I was not but simply eating. After I said No he told me to Get off of the property since I wasn t staying the night. This was very rude as unless you are staying at the hotel they do not want you there. I would not spend another dollar at this place as they do not treat you with any respect like some of the other hotels in the city.
Rooms are dated, but kept in decent shape and everything works. Minimal traffic noise. Nice location, convient walk into the city.
Clean and convenient. Staff was very accommodating.
Attending conference. 10-15 min walk to restaurant district and convenience stores. Spacious rooms and fast internet.
Great location, walking distance to various parts of the city. I stayed in room 1829 I believe, so the views are from that point of view. Minor issue with the bathroom which, was resolved within a phone call.
We really enjoy the event menu here for concerts etc
The rooms, especially the bathrooms are not yet renovated to the new Marriott standard that was rolled out early last year, which is a shame since the staff is super friendly and helpful. Also, the laundry service takes a min of 32 hours to complete an order, which isn't helpful in an emergency.
Beautiful facility and the staff is second to none!
I am a frequent traveler to Pittsburgh downtown and this is my preferred property to stay. The staff and the service is A+. I gave my feedback to the management team (Brian and Brad) and they were very open and committed to make every guest feel like home.
Not a Bus friendly hotel no place to even pull over and unload a bus let alone Park one...they give me some random street to park on ...yeah! just what I want to do walk around a strange City late at night.
Exceptional customer service; all employees exemplified sincerity and generosity!
Big shout out to management, very rare to encounter an entire team to demonstrate such a high level of service
Outstanding staff! From Theresa at the front desk to Chris at the front door to Byron in the concierge lounge. Helpful, friendly, attentive, professional. I won't stay anywhere else when I'm in town.
Beautiful place to stay, worth the cost nice and we'll kept
The hotel's location is wonderful, staff is courteous and helpful and the restaurant had plenty to offer! Truly a great city, the hotel is easy to find and a definite recommendation.
Very nice staff. Valet very pleasant. Rooms adequate. Beds very comfortable. Restaurant and bar upscale nicely remodeled.
Always try to stay here when the Cubs are in town to beat the Pirates. Great property, friendly staff.
Wonderful staff. Terrific location. Hotel has ample rooms, just a bit oddly furnished. No table in ours, though could have fit a yoga studio in the spare space. The plumbing is a bit out of date, water pressure weak. Elevators a bit inadequate - some long waits in our week there. Do not eat at the restaurant. Server was great, kitchen a mess. But lots of good options close by, and so grateful for the small fridge in the room.
Attended a conference at Pittsburgh Marriott City Center. The accommodations were very nice. The hotel was easy to find, and the rooms were large and comfortable. The food served during the event was very good (pastries and coffee/tea for breakfast, deli sandwiches and salad for lunch). I would come to an event hosted here again.
Was greeted by the most friendly and kind Bellman. He knew what meeting I was headed to and even followed me in to point me in the right direction.
The banquet room was great, it was spacious, the food presentation was wonderful and the service staff were discrete but very friendly.
I didn't stay in the hotel I visited for a banquet. It was beautiful, elegant and fast but the food could have been better. Overall I like it
Clean rooms, friendly staff and very helpful, just out side of the heart of downtown, be very convenient to walk to call the popular spots
The Pittsburgh Marriot City Center is walking distance from the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. Despite the convenience of the location if I ever find myself in Pittsburgh again I would not book another stay there. Initially I booked a one night stay under a block of rooms. I called about two weeks prior to my stay in order to extend my reservation by a day but was told that no rooms were available under our block rate. I continued to check online prior to my arrival but received the same notification. Upon check-in we inquired again as to the ability to extend our stay a further night under our block rate and surprise...there were 21 rooms available. The room itself was fairly typical. The king sized bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The TV was diappontingly tiny. Housekeeping was terrible. We accidentally spilled something in our bed and instead of changing the sheets housekeeping made the bed anyway and covered up the stain with our bedding. Additionally, while they did give us many new towels they did not give us any new bar soap so we ended up using the tiny body wash provided. To top it off, upon check out my partner likes to strip the sheets to make it easier for cleanup...upon stripping the bed sheet we saw that the bed padding was urine stained (an older stain but paying over $200 a night I expect fresh clean sheets every day with NO URINE stains). It was incredibly disgusting. Perhaps I just happened to get a really filthy room but it left a sour taste in my mouth. I would recommend checking out another hotel in the area.
Beautiful hotel. Attended a job fair. Nice surroundings. Good view of the city. Easy to locate. But parking garage was a nightmare.
I live in Chatham Towers next to the Marriott City Center and the delivery folks have a tendency to deliver our packages to the Marriott. Long story short, I had a number of important packages that had been delivered there by mistake. The front desk staff and security were incredibly kind, helpful and secure (checked ID to match with package). High level of service even to a non-customer is a great sign in my book. Additionally, they have a very nice lobby with two flavors of fruit infused waters out in the evening which is a great touch.
Nice place, great place to stay away from the cold during sport events
Nice room, not exactly what i requested but they went beyond to make us happy.
