On the surface, this place looks like a bad Italian chain restaurant. But I must say, I was surprised that the food was actually very good and well presented. The service is ok... nice people but inauthentic and wrote. We had to call our waitress over several times - the first time just to take our order - which is not a deal breaker just a small red flag. We went for lunch which was priced very well.

The food was ok but not great and the service was awful. When we were seated it took about 5 minutes for someone to come over. Any time we needed anything we had to flag someone down. We had to ask twice for a dessert menu, then they were out of most of the things I wanted and told me to go look at the front to see what they had left, and never came back to see what I wanted (the great pastry display is what drew us in to begin with!). We also had to ask twice for the check and at that point really wanted to get out of there. It cost 50 pounds for 2 people for a dinner we didn't enjoy at all, and originally went there for something quick and easy (and it was none of those things). My husband and I also were pretty sure we were seated with all the other "foreigners." Far from recommended.

We happened to walk past the Caffe Concerto, which appealed to us from the outside.

We ordered the soup of the day (minestrone), which was delivered with bread and some butter - it was not bad.

The cakes are beautifully presented from the outside, but are not so easy to see from the inside.

In general, the pie pieces are not bad, but a bit expensive.

The toilet is in the lower floor, here I have to say that here is only a single toilet, which is in need of renovation and is relatively far to the ground.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - STAY AWAY!! Myself and 6 friends went to enjoy (or so we thought) a coffee and desert at this location. All of us ordered drinks, some of us dessert. Upon visiting our table, the general manager, Fabio, REQUIRED us to all order food. When we said that some of us were hungry, Fabio accused us of "taxing from him" or stealing from him. Fabio was very confrontational, rude and extremely unprofessional. This coming not from an ordinary waiter having a bad day, but from the general manager himself, the face of this corporation! I have never experienced such poor customer service, especially in a nice and international establishment like this one. You would expect, in Picadilly square, that staff be trained to deal with tourists of all nationalities and that the customer is always king. STAY AWAY from this location - you will be treated extremely poorly. I even attempted to have a conversation with the manager Fabio at the end of our visit to gently explain to him our concerns. He had none of it, got even more confrontational and shut the 'staff only' door on me. I simply couldn't believe it. Lawsuit waiting to happen!

Appearances are deceiving. The place is very nice ... But it ends there. The taste of the sweets is mediocre, equal to that of generic supermarket sweets, and the coffee is too light and burnt. The icing on the cake, we paid a good 20 pounds for those two cakes and two coffees. Failed, go elsewhere.

A nice place to have a coffee, but still too expensive for what it provides, the service is fine but not enough for the specific shop, the coffee could be better in my opinion too, it's though a luxurious place and you can enjoy your drink

Awful, disgusting and not pleasant areas to spend time with family and friends due to today my cousin stolen her bag. System is not friendly as manager said it's quite often happened. It is a modus operandi, inside job and conniving the hostile environment .They don't care for their customers and not even offered to use their phone. So people ,please avoid going to this coffee shop. They have cctv but blurry, not good enough. These known to people working there and they don't even warn the customer and besides always in same sitting areas when constantly happened. I think police authorities need to check out the place. If you cannot avoid to go there at least check people especially working in that place .Be vigilant.

Lovely experience! Hot chocolate and pastries were divine (especially on a wintry day!) staff were lovely, Mariana our server gave great suggestions, would highly recommend! We will be back

this is simply an example of how chain restaurants lose their touch with customer service and delivering quality food! After trying to impress my Danish colleagues with typical British-style afternooon tea, my visit to Cafe Concerto left me embarressed and somewhat angry! The service was poor and the scones and sandwiches were stale and horrid! The clotted cream looked as if it had gone off. Sandwiches tasted old. overall one of the most bizzare experiences I have ever had, stay away! Not recommended at all. Find a small cafe, you are guaranteed a better quality than this !

Another wonderful evening. I met some of my friends in this branch for afternoon tea. At the moment of our arrival one of the managers I think his name was Alex welcome us with a big smile and asked the reason we were visiting the branch, More

Total disappointment

Total disappointment
Pistachio cake was not fresh and it's top layer absolutely dry, couldn't eat it. It seems waitress didn't care at all, she even didn't ask if everything was ok, no smile, even no 'thank you' when we paid the bill. It's a shame it's such a good looking place from the outside and such disappointment when you go inside. Will never back again.

Although the salad I had was crispy (if basic), the service was meagre - our waiter spent way too long gossipling with the other staff before I could get his attention.

The staff is very rude and incompetent. Their chocolate fondant wasn't a chocolate fondant. Their poured hot chocolate syrup on an old peice of cake. Atrocious taste. We have to get a replacement for it. Their beverages are poor in taste. And the waiters took very long to serve.

I hope they close down for the betterment of people.

The interior will fool you. Great looking place but it's matched with pathetic overpriced food. DON'T GO HERE AT ANY COST.

The food did not taste much, potatoes and carrots where not ready cooked, salmon was dry and we went there two persons and both got stomach pain afterwards. We shared the chocolate cake that actually tasted good but.....Will never go there again.

Staff behind bar was making so much noise with banging cutlery and cups we were unable to enjoy the atmosphere. The meringue on top of the lemon tart was as if eating sand. The sugar was not disolved. Had 2 bites and gave up. The quality of More

Horrible service and hair in the food. We went for afternoon tea with a reservation but it took over an hour to get tea and a coffee. The waiters charged us wrong and literally tried to avoid eye contact. It took 3 hours for an hour reservation. Not worth the money.

I was feeling so dirty here. I brought the wrong menu and ordered it again.
I won't change afterwards
It was really, really bad, and the kids went in to eat Eclair and had an unforgettable nightmare in London.

Lovely staff and attentive service. I'd say the place was very clean and elegant too. My one criticism would be that the chicken Milanese was a little on the dry side but other than that I was in good hands and the cakes were also delightful.

If I could give it NO stars I would. Myself and my boyfriend sat down, ordered food, was sat there for ages till we realised this isn't right. We got up to ask where is our food, only to be told by the waiter that they didn't have the burger meat, so they've sent someone to the local shops to buy some. I couldn't believe what he was saying. This is Gaffe Concerto not Burger King. Most dissapoint at this branch....I'd go again just not this one as I have had tea and cakes in the small one in Birmigham which is where I live and was very happy with the service there.

Worst meal I've had in a restaurant for a long time. I was told the soup was lentil, ordered it but it turned out to be broccoli. Ordered the salmon nicoise. Got a bowl full of dry leaves & an overcooked piece of dried up fish. We told the waiter & he just walked away. Dreadful

Very poor. No being taken to be seated instead a finger point then left to wait while others who came in after us were served. If I hadn't have gone to the person I presume was the manager to vent my dissatisfaction then we would have continued to get no service. Still there was a delay. The afternoon tea arrived just in time as one minute longer and we were going to walk out. Too much cheese in the sandwiches, scones were quite dry though smothered in cream and jam helped, the macaroon was a sorry sight, you get the picture..... There was no checking on how we were finding the food like others were asked and the only real acknowledgement was being wished a good day while exiting but all too late to stop this review. Lastly we were put in the back corner as though to not put off the customers that aren't use to people of ethnicity. Alass we won't be going back!

If you think you know what bad service is, try this place as they might surprise you.

Went there on a Sunday afternoon, they made us feel unwelcome from the first second. After waiting 10 minutes for someone to come take our order and waiving at waiters who are very good at avoid eye contact, we just left without being served. Will never step foot in any place of this chain

As soon as I walked in I could tell this was a very busy, central London restaurant. I will be honest, I loved the relaxing music in the background. However, it's all very cramped and narrow which many people dislike... including me as I love my conversations to be private and less people staring down at my food?

The waitress who decided to seat us was very unprofessional and was not aware of any good manners, that was very unfortunate for us. She could not follow a simple instruction and in the end I had to take control of the situation as a customer. Can you not clear up the table that a customer wants? There are better places than this if you expect a good service. No eye contact either and experience below average.

Racist and rude staff who refused to provide me and my partner with a seat by the window. When I asked why was told that it the tables were reserved and we were only a party of two and these tables were for groups of four. Waiter then threw our menus on a table at the very back of the restaurant and flounced off. Was looking at our menus when a few minutes late TWO non-black couples were seated at these very same tables. I saw them and asked if they had reserved these spaces both confirmed that they had not. Absolutely foul that despite having the same colour money we were treated differently by this staff member because of the colour of our skin - ever strong reminder - not that I need it as a black person - that in 21st century London racism is alive and kicking.
