The food was good (nothing amazing) but service was so so bad.
The host was super rude and wouldn t let me sit down at the table (I had reserved) until my friend arrived. I m super pregnant so that was weird and inconsiderate. The female host tried to seat me (she was the only nice person) and he told her I had to wait. There were plenty of tables and my friend was just a few minutes walk away. I totally understand if there is a policy but have some flexibility for people who might need a rest from a long day.
It wasn t relaxing at all - and it was my birthday dinner.
I had wanted to try this place for years - I m always passing it and finally decided to try it for my special dinner.
Also our waiter ignored us for a while and seemed like he was on something.
Just weird.
I work a few blocks away and will never come back or recommend it to anyone.
Food was good. Service average, barely checked on hs. Cleanliness substandard. 1 plate and 2 spoons were not washed properly
The food was amazing and the waitress was on point!
The food was poor , fries going back!
Not recommended
Great food, lovely room, professional staff. Small but we'll priced and rounded wine list. Hostess was a stand out! Will be back?!
The outdoor space of this restaurant is fantastic, in the summer and in the winter time. It s a little pricey, like everything in nyc, but good quality food.
Ok they don't know how to make an old fashion here ...
Had team lunch here and restaurant made mistakes about our orders. As a result two of us waited 90 minutes until they had their food. Not recommended.
Ask the bartender if it was an open bar and she replied yes. Then ask me if I wanted to start a tab after I ordered my drink. Get a clue.
If you go there and there's a big table of "under pressure" girls, having a party, ask to be seated far from them.
The dinning room is big enough and there are tables in the front of the restaurant to be quiet.
Lunch was fine.
Popped in for a drink in the afternoon. Great atmosphere, good value for happy hour, but the bartender definitely favored regulars and ignored us at the bar for a bit. Will come back for food, but may not take a chance for happy hour again.
Food and service quality don t really match the high price. Waiter was not very attentive and made quite a few mistakes. Atmosphere was very nice till people started freaking out about the mice in the outdoor patio...
Had the short ribs and they were excellent. Also enjoyed the selection of appetizers.
Great atmosphere. Relaxing outdoor terrace. The food and drinks were fabulous. I ordered the Salmon. It was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. We will be returning!
We went to the Brunch, fair prices for NY, there are several options like 2hrs of unlimited drinks or another choice of main course plus drink for 25 usd.
The rich food, the very nice place although the table of the gardener came unpleasant smells. The regular service, probably because there were many people.
At the time of the bill they charged us more than what the menu said.
I recommend you look, we did not say anything because my husband does not like to fight. But they are very important details that must be checked.
Would love to give 0 stars. So unprofessional host and manager. Disappointed. Never coming back.
We went to Pera Soho for Drinks before dinner around happy hour on a Friday. Given the current law in NY, we ordered appetizers as we were required to have food.
Our waitress was extremely pushy and after ~40 minutes, very uncomfortably told us if we did not order a full dinner they would need to take our table. The restaurant was 70% empty at this point (~7pm), which made this all the more confusing. We asked our waitress what the issue was and she mentioned it was a direct order from her manager, who we requested to speak with. Despite the rude treatment, we offered to continue buying drinks as well as to hit any minimum they required. The manager was set on requiring the full dinner and told us he did not care about us hitting a minimum, (which seemed nonsensical to us, given that we had already ordered food). This was particularly troubling for us, as my friend has struggled with eating disorders her entire life, and we were about to head to dinner. As one can imagine, being forced to order a full meal before dinner is an extremely stressful situation for her.
I will never return to this restaurant again, and would not recommend the experience to anyone. My hope is that management changes hands, as the outdoor patio happens to be lovely and the service team deserves better from their employer than to be forced into this type of uncomfortable conversation.
Great outside area to dine. Excellent service and delicious food from fixed menu (during this time of covid-19). Lots of social distancing
Perfect set up! Outdoor dining, great food, great wine. Everything is delish! My favorite remains the octopus and the beets!
Awesome experience! Came here for Restaurant Week; the food was delicious, the service was great, and the dishes were unique. The outdoor atmosphere was great too. Def recommend!
We went here for Mother's Day. The staff was quite friendly and we loved the atmosphere. I was a bit disappointed not to see vegetarian and vegan options (other than one or two appetizers) on the menu but we still enjoyed our food.
Good food and great vibe, we visited one week after the corona reopening so we were in the patio which was great - not too crowded, beautiful with a staff that was super nice. The food was good and interesting. The drinks lovely however, if you're looking for authentic mideterenian food there are better spots in NYC ( I grew up in the mideterenian area so I think I am qualified to say :) ).
This restaurant is surely one of the finest place to eat in the neighborhood. Every time I go there I am so happy. They maintain their high standard service and the highest level of cooking they offer. You are always happy with this restaurant. Very recommended.
I go to this great spot quite a bit! This is my favorite restaurant to have a bite. I visit this place at least once a month. The meals are just great, the staff members are professional and the prices are reasonable. I enjoy going in this spot over a decent meal.
Great Mediterranean food!! We had dinner here last week and every single thing we tried was awesome. The dips and chips are are a must(smoked eggplant with garlic yogurt dip, spicy pepper Muammara, Hummus--all incredible). The mezes, the entrees, the desserts... everything was so good. Get the Shashlik Steak Frites. Its fantastic! So happy we went here and experienced these exciting flavors in such a nice place. We couldn't try everything, so we'll have to go back soon. The drinks are also REALLY good. No complaints on this one.
Good happy hour drinks after 4pm and it s convenient after soho strolls as an outdoor bar.
I am an Uber driver, I urgently needed to go in for a minute, they did not let me in. there are not friendly employees.
Definitely a spot worth visiting, the food is excellent and fresh, the prices are convenient and it is always well kept there. Keep it up.
Great food, the outdoor dining was a great experience
Small place. Some of the stuff is overrated but the poutine is nice. I find the brisket a little too salty for my liking. Really good beer list.
The food was absolutely phenomenal. I rarely ever write reviews but I had to write one for this place because I was so impressed. I ordered the Chicken Shashlik and woooww I definetly Lik my plate clean. Best kabob style chicken I ve ever had (and I ve dined in Dubai). The ambiance was also very beautiful and perfect for a date night. Definitely recommend and will be coming back for more. Also thank you for the amazing service Pera! Our server kept checking in on us throughout the dinner and it was a busy Sunday so much appreciated.
This spot is worth giving a shot. They serve large portions for convenient prices. Regularly clean and with excellent ambience. Will come visit again.
Too expensive and bad food. 9 dollars for Mediterranean fries?? And they were so nasty. Better is mc Donald's
Loved that it s outdoor and a very nice vibe. The wine selection was great and the gnocchi was delicious!!
Host is still rude. Should ve read the reviews before coming... been wanting to try for a while. Will not be coming back.
I really love this place. Been here a few times and always have a great meal with great service. We usually just wind up ordering a bunch of apps and a salad and sharing everything. The wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese are awesome! It's also a great neighborhood for parking and walking around or shopping.
Ordered food during restaurant week from a prefix menu. Not a lot of veggie options. The food was decent. The restaurant has nice ambience.
The outdoor space is nice, especially in the summer. We split a delicious dry red wine with the family. The smoked egglant starter was really nice. But the spinach fettuccine main was uninspiring.
Came for brunch and enjoyed the outdoor seating and smoked salmon benedict. This restaurant is definitely good for larger groups.
Went for dinner, Sat outside. Great setup. Food was delicious. Good service. Very pleasant experience.
We couldn t decide between which dishes we want, but we had Alex on our side. He recommended the chicken and the steak. We made the right choice.
Horrific service!- booked a private party. And we were dismissed after 2 hours because of noise. No
Warning. Just that bar was closed. NEVER HAVE A PRIVATE EVENT HERE- what HORRIFIC SERVICE. They shut it down after a few hours. THE WORST PLACE EVER!
Went here for Winter Restaurant Week and was not disappointed! Tried the calamari, phyllo rolls, and the chicken flatbread entree.
The calamari was crispy and well cooked. The phyllo rolls were delicious and complemented by the tzatziki. The flatbread was perfectly crisp and buttery but the chicken itself was a bit dry and the accompanying salad rather plain. Tried my friend's salmon and it was much more delicious! Chocolate mousse and baklava for dessert and these were delightful.
The restaurant itself is wonderful, in the winter the outside area is enclosed in a clear tent so you get all the sunshine but no cold! Looks like a good venue for larger parties.
Excellent food and service during our visit. Enjoyed appetizer, entree and dessert with co-workers and all expressed that they liked their dishes as well. Atmosphere at dinner was a little on the loud side.
Came for brunch during restaurant week. Not the best deal, but good food. Mediterranean fare. Bloody Mary could use a little spice. Really great patio.
Great place to enjoy outdoor dining during Covid. Their setup is really safe and tables are all 6 + apart. Staff is very attentive and welcoming. It s nice that the space is in a courtyard so you don t get too much noise from the street.
Order the Shakshuka! It s not spicy at all and has this yummy Mediterranean cheese and crunchy phyllo dough chips on the bottom reminiscent of a crust.
For dessert the date cake with gelato is to die for.
Really nice spot for cocktails in Soho.
This is a review for drinks, as we didn't order any food. Me and my husband visited this place on Valentine's for drinks before heading to our dinner place .
We went during happy hour.We ordered few drinks and they were really good. They had live music. We enjoyed our drinks and music.
Loved the overall experience and ambience of the place.
We can't wait to return, especially during summers to enjoy their patio.
The food is okay - could be better. Have been here twice and felt it was very basic both the times (unless maybe if you have burgers? Never tried those here)
Had lamb and eggs and chicken flatbread - was alright.
Large restaurant with great outdoor eating section. Fun selection of food items and good for large groups. Can be noisy so not good for an intimate date but great for a bunch of friends or family.
The Mediterranean chicken and rice were delicious. The outside atmosphere is cute.
Amazing place. Decor is wonderful, great energy and the food is spectacular. The best part of the bar, however, is the bartender Daniel. He mixes drinks perfectly and has the best personality you can ask for in a bartender. 10/10 would recommend
Food is good; however, the service is overwhelmed, thus, we had to ask numerous time to get cutlery, napkins and water.
The ambiance was nice, but the food was close to inedible. I went for New Year's eve and expected the food to be worth the very steep price, but ended up not eating any of the 7 courses that they provided. I could have gotten better food at a food truck for $5. This place should probably give up on serving food entirely and just focus on the bar.
If you want a restaurant with options to dine outside or in than this is the placed to go, low lighting for those casual moments and the food, is cooked by a chef that knows what flavors are! The bar is cozy and the staff are extremely hospitable. Yes their are many restaurants in New York that have all of these traits but trust Pera stands alone when it comes to great service. So come on down and fill your pallids with flavors unlike anywhere else.
This is so far the best Turkish food I have had in New York. I highly recommend the spring rolls called "Sigara Boregi". I love the happy hour. Try Apricot Margarita! The staff is very professional and warm. Can't wait to go back.
Stopped in here while in Soho around lunch time. It was raining and all the spots for coffee were packed. I figured I might as well grab a bite. After checking menus at a few places I ended up here. The staff was friendly and attentive and my meal was amazing. I am a classic picky eater who tends to stick with flavors and foods I'm familiar with, and this did not fit that bill. That said, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed my ground lamb flatbread sandwich, which was more of an open face thing. I've forgotten its proper name, but it blew my mind. The portion was also a good deal for the price, I was able to have my leftovers again for dinner. Soo good.
The drinks are awesome the Pera Martini aka La Pera cop it!!# Great vibe without all the pretentiousness of a Red Rooster. Harlem salute read more
people there are very rude... they rushed out before we even ate!
A great place to meet up with friends to have a drink by the bar or a quiet dinner in the dining room or outdoors.
It is definitely not your normal Greek. Happy hour is very good. The layout and outdoor seating is beautiful.
Horrible service. Waited for over 40 minutes to get the drinks and the restaurant was empty. Food was not that food either. Will never go back again.
Went for drinks and it was amazing so went back for dinner and had a wonderful experience.
Great taste, good quality, diverse menu, good service.
The food was good . But something missing in service. And too noisy.
This Soho spot is the classier branch to their Midtown older sister. Their Raki is unique and worth trying, even if it's not going to be your regular go-to. It's something you won't see just anywhere. Don't miss the grape leaf chips with muammara (a hot pepper dip only slightly hot) and their shashlik kebabs - super flavorful and tender. The duck was the best, followed by the beef.
Management and staff were very rude! Did not care about customer service
This place is fantastic! Convenient prices, considerable dishes and the staff members are constantly super nice.
Racist waiter! Beware! Don't eat here if you're a minority because they don't care!
This place was on my bookmarked list for ages and we finally gave it a try on Valentine's day. We stopped here for drinks before our dinner at a restaurant nearby. Pera Soho is quite spread out with lovely outdoor, bar seating and formal dining area. It's a great date spot and would be nice spot to enjoy the outdoor seating in summers.
Happy hour runs from 4-7 PM, but HH menu isn't that exhaustive. We tried few drinks off the menu and liked them. Service was decent but it could have been better. There was a live band when we came in and we enjoyed the music.
Overall a great spot for Happy Hour and small nibles.
Shame on you and then you expect a 100 $ tip?! You should have comped their meal and fired the one who wtote '5 black guts'
Great staff and atmosphere but my grilled chicken and vegtables was brunt. Grilled doesnt mean burnt. Very covid friendly. Small portions
