Like a lot of comments on here, the cabins are badly in need of an upgrade but they also have a lot of charm.

We found it slightly disappointing that major construction works were ongoing, which closed off half of the lodge. We were not advised of this at any time and it took quite a while to get signed in on arrival as a result.

On a positive note, the spa was absolutely magical and the walks are breathtaking!!!!

Definitely worth a visit.

We had the most amazing romantic getaway. The food at the restaurant and tavern was absolutely divine. The staff were lovely and welcoming and the fireplaces set a warming and homely atmosphere. The Alpine Spa was a perfect and relaxing way to finish off our wonderful holiday

Second time staying in The Lodge. Prime location, in close proximity to wildlife. Staff is helpful and nice, Highlander s menu a bit limited but yet up to the expectation; a good variety of gin to select. The lodge is good though the CD player need a replacement, probably something new? The complimentary port wine is a plus. Cozy by cabin in the middle of the forest, put aside your gadgets and listen to the wild. Will come again if I were to visit cradle mountain for the third time.

Perfect place to explore or use as a base for the national park. The property itself is unexpectedly gorgeous. The restaurant is good but the bistro is not (I had a rubbery tough dry beef burger). Breakfasts are a bit chaotic & non-relaxing (the usual stuff with posh hotels: shortage of plates, espresso coffee deliberately priced to discourage & slow to materialise, nicely prepared roast potatoes suffering in a humid covered warming dish, icky communal serving spoons) but nevertheless yummy, generous, and great to fuel a long walk.

Didn't stay there, but had lunch. We were in a bit of a hurry, however they responded very quickly which helped. The menu in the part we were in wasn't extensive, and certainly wasn't cheap. The food we got was not a large portion, but was very well presented and tasted very good. The coffee was good, also. The grounds are nice to walk around, just avoid the wombat poo.

Pepper's Cradle Mountain was amazing!! The atmosphere with log fires, warm decor and welcoming feel was exactly what we hoped for when staying at Cradle Mountain. What we were pleasantly surprised about was the incredible customer service given by the staff. Every single member of staff was fantastic especially Pradeep who made our stay very special. We couldn't recommend this accommodation highly enough.

We loved our spa suite, but waited until a few days before to book so we wouldn't have to pay full price. The service we received relating to our room was perfect - check in, and particularly turn down were great (we came back to a cheese platter, romantic music and chocolates). The problem was the service in the main lobby area. Overall staff down there were not prepared to go the extra mile - reception didn't even have the visitor maps to cradle mountain national park or books with information on the local area, wifi did not work at all and there were no computers available to guests free of charge. We enjoyed our stay but wouldn't pay full price for this hotel.

Deep in the mountains and a quick drive away from.the park entrance, Cradle Mountain Lodge is the place to stay if you're looking for some time away and enjoy nature, animals in their natural habitat and hiking. Keep a close eye out for the Pademelon and wombats that roam the grounds. Staff is very helpful and extremely accommodating to their guests. Food was great (buffet breakfast is a must before embarking on a hike). If you're looking for a spot to stay in the mountain area in Tasmania, this is the spot.

We stayed here for a birthday and it was absolutely incredible. By far, one of my favourite hotel stays. The chalet itself was amazing. A generous sized room, beautiful balcony overlooking the beautiful scenery, and a big bathroom with a spa bath. The bedroom also contained a wood fire, and they supplied with a ton of wood if you ran out. The dinner was one of the best meals we've ever had. We chose to eat at the pricier restaurant and it was well worth it. Breakfast the next day was also worth the money, and I definitely intend on returning on my next stay in Tassie. We also encountered lots of wildlife including possums and a pademelon which stopped by our chalet one morning.

Only came for dinner and drinks, but we were back again the following night. The tavern does great pub style food at a reasonable price considering the remote location. Highlights were the fish and chips and loaded fries. Great casual lounge areas with open fires.

Besides the high rating (4.4 / 5 stars) given which should be a 5 in my opinion. What caught my eyes is the winter profile (pictures) of the cabins and I was sold and I immediately book it without 2nd thought.
Me and my wife were not disappointed at all, coming from hot and busy Singapore we came from, this was a literally a heaven with wide space to chill out and unwind. (Only downside No wifi no TV in the cabins)

It was only AUD237 per night (19th June 18) Winter months, but worth every penny. In the summer months of December the same cabin cost AUD$457 (half the price of June winter). They even gave us a champagne bottle free to enjoy which was unexpected and nice surprise. Too bad we both do not drink, and we asked for change to Wine which they readily exchanged in within literally minutes (very fast service at night)

The property was so comfortable lodging with its own (but bluff) fire place (with central heater) at pencil pine cabin (4 semi detached rooms in row) exclusive by itself with carpark right in front of my lodging pine (Cabin 3). The property sits on prime land with a lake attached, and has its own trails that starts at property leading out to walks around the wonderful property and waterfall nearby.

We even saw wild possum, wombat and pedimelon right outside the lodge but no worries they are vegetarian (no predators on Tasmania except 3 types of venomous snake). The property also boast of 2 top notch restaurants in Cradle mountain area, truly fabulous dinning. Overall highly recommended to stay here but hope they connect wifi or TV right to rooms, will definitely write to their management for it.

We have been coming to the Lodge for 25 years and it never disappoints....The Contemporary Spa cabins are great and meals at the bistro are reasonable (although the prices are now at a premium level)....We will continue to go stay here...

Great location right on the border with the national park. Our contemporary cabin was simple but spacious and the gas powered 'log fire' made for a cosy place to sit out the torrential rain. The grounds are filled with wildlife, the resident red-necked wallabies which amble between the cabins are particularly friendly. Food options are basic pub food in the tavern, and enjoyable fine-dining in the main restaurant, both options are over-priced for what's on offer, but in-line with everything else around the national park. Wi-fi is available but spotty and at additional cost - unforgivable given the price of accommodation.

Partially completed the overland track in the national Park and coming back to a nice and cozy Lodge was the best experience yet. I would recommend the Lodge as it's just a slice of what's to come.

Lush, cozy, decadent, immersed in nature, for making memories! I can't say enough about this Lodge This was our second stay and we will be back! The cabins are beautiful, every detail thought of. As you enter your cabin, there is a lit fire & background music playing on the sound system. Instantly sets a relaxing mood, yummy! Although, you cannot prepare any food in your room & there is no TV or WiFi - perfect for a detox! The main Lodge offers an elegant restaurant or more casual dining in the tavern bar & bistro. Breakfast in the restaurant has more choices than anywhere else I have ever stayed! You won't regret staying here

We stayed two nights in a cabin. The food was pricey even in the "tavern". The bathroom had only a small shower, where a bath would be nice after a long day of walking in 2 degrees or less, but there is a gas fire in the room so that helped. Otherwise a very good experience, and we will likely return next year.

Really expected more at over $500 per cabin per night. Staff at check in I found unhelpful, we had booked 2 cabins as we are a family only to be given cabins that were separated. I have no idea why they wouldn t give adjoining. Put items on our credit card from the mini bar that we didn t consume so had to go back to have that sorted. Driveways need a 4wd they are in such disrepair. Cabin was full of flies when we first opened so whomever cleaned and locked up didn t obviously care. Took 1/2 hour to kill them all. On the bright side, the dinner at the restaurant was excellent. A little expensive but very high quality and always happy to pay for quality. As for the rest of the hotel, you are paying for close location to cradle mountain, that s it. If I had my time over, I would have stayed off the mountain, saved $800, and driven to the National park car park in the morning as you have to catch the bus even if you stay at Peppers anyway.

We stayed in contemporary spa cabin, location was beautiful, bed was average, no bath robes (as stated), spa bath was very small, everything in mini bar was expensive, fridge was not operating, could not make calls from phone. For a high end, expensive type accommodation I definitely expected more.

Over rated rooms very old cleaning extremely poor meals just ok gift shop lacked service dark hair lady was more involved in talking to staff than even showing interest in serving me or any of the other guests this is the poorest service shown on our whole trip to Tasmania;
I am extremely disappointed as I have stayed in many Peppers Resorts and accommodation in the past years and this place does not meet the brand standards I understand that this is an mountain lodge and that it is semi remote but the whole place needs a lot of TLC
We don't mind paying for quality and service but this just was not shown
Peppers/Mantra needs to have a look at the management of this place
Very sad

Wow! What a beautiful spot. Great service, comfortable rooms and the best food at the Highlands restaurant. We saw little wombats and kangaroos in the evening, had a wonderful 3-course dinner and a very filling morning breakfast by the fire. Will definitely go back some day to stay at the king billy suite.

Great landscape sournding the resort. Staff are really nice, restaurants are good. Just need to refitout the rooms as the bathrooms and interiors are around 10 + years old. Would recommend staying here.

Beautiful landscape and close to many walking trails around the national park. Wildlife roam around the lodge freely, which makes the experience more enjoyable. The spa suit we stayed at for 2 nights(more nights were needed to explore more) was cosy with a fire place. The staff at the lodge are friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food at the Highland restaurant and Tavern is delicious and we'll presented. The Devil's lounge is very relaxing and inviting. Would recommend staying and cannot wait to stay again.

We love the very nice chalet in a forest village. Friendly and helpful staff. The buffet breakfast was very good too. Close to a few short walks which were good to your body shape after a full breakfast.

I've stayed here a few times and there is no doubt the setting is amazing. Beautiful scenery and access to the national park. The lodge itself is cozy and inviting in the winter months and having a glass of red by the fire is very relaxing. I was very disappointed by the food the last time I stayed however, and I'm not the only person to experience this.

Whether you want to spend the night, fine dine or just have burgers & beer, this place has you covered. You can warm up by the fireplace when it's wet outside, play some piano, sit outdoors when it's nice, it was our go to place to take a break or meet people.

We arrived an hour early and were well aware of this but thought we d ask if our room was ready. Staff were friendly enough and told us the room was almost done and to take a seat and they d keep us updated. 50 minutes of sitting in the lobby later and we hadn t even been given a second look. Went up to the counter to ask and were told that it had been ready for a good half hour or so.
Upon entering the cabin, it was warm clean and a little small. But not uncomfortable. That night went to have a shower, turned the fan in the bathroom on and the amount of dust that fell out of the light fitting was absolutely appalling, took multiple tissues to wipe up all the dust.

Went for dinner at the tavern and thoroughly enjoyed the cradle burger and chicken schnitzel.

The following day we d planned to go to Dove Lake, but due to the snowfall this was unable to happen and so most of the day was spent in the cabin. Make sure to bring your own entertainment for poor weather as the resort provides almost no forms of entertainment. No TV in the rooms (not highlighted on website but also not listed as a feature), they provide wifi in the lodge, but this was barely functioning for most of our stay and wasn t even enough to download a few emails, there s no mini library or pool room, the only available entertainment was the handful of board games in the lodge, of which some were missing critical parts. Alternatively you could sit in your cabin and watch cars sliding around the car park... For upwards of $300 a night, you would expect some sort of housekeeping, and there was, someone came around and offered us fresh towels. However, nothing more then that... beds were not made, bathroom wasn t stocked and this is all promoted as part of the Peppers experience...

We decided to have dinner in the Highlands Restaurant and even sprung out for the Christmas in July experience at $109 per person. Unfortunately this was where things fell apart. We were offered a bon bon and a Christmas coloured and themed menu, this was about as far as the Christmas experience went though. Throughout the dining experience, staff were all friendly. However, they were let down by the meal itself. Starters were a freshly baked bread roll with a lemon and thyme butter, dukkah and oil. The bread roll was lovely, still fresh, warm and tasty. Unfortunately the butter was rock hard and unable to be spread on the bread. This was followed by entree, a fried tiger prawn with prawn cocktail, avocado salsa and lemon cheek. Whilst presentation was fantastic, the prawn had no flavour, as though it had been frozen and the avocado salsa was lucky to have one little piece of avocado, hardly enough to name the dish over.

The roast turkey was flavoursome and not bad, but was pulled down by the undercooked potato gratin, the potato s were still tough, hard to cut through and lacked flavour, the roasted vegetables may well have been roasted, but they looked more like they were char grilled and were well and truly burnt. The one or two pieces that we were able to salvage were quite tasty though, it was just a shame that the rest were burnt. The brussel sprouts were also undercooked, you couldn t get the fork through them, though once again, the flavour was there. Just a shame that they were too undercooked to chew through. After 15 or so minutes of sitting with our plates in front of us, and with it made clear that we were done with mains, a waitress came to clear our plates and to check in on us. It was at this point that we raised our concerns.

She offered a complimentary drink for each of us. Upon this being turned down, dessert was brought out. Upon leaving we were only charged for a two course meal but found we had also been charged for the 2 comp. drinks.

Place is nice. Staff are hit and miss at customer service. Make sure you book the day spa before you arrive. Really nice walks to do around the lodge and cradle mountain. Wombats everywhere :).

Very very good customer service,
However was not told in advance about $200 deposit for any expenses spent suring stay. And the 5-7day return on the money. Probably should of expected this but after paying as much money as we did its a little harsh waiting for the money to return. Hurting our bank accounts until pay day.

Very comfortable accommodation, wood fires in the cabins, great customer service from staff and breakfast as expected for a buffet. Telstra mobile coverage with good speeds. The location, wildlife and environment is truly amazing.
