The whole place is a bit old and needs a refresh. Spa bath in the room is really dirty - you can see the pink of the bacteria around the drains and jets. Staff seem a bit undertrained. Tavern is pretty basic. The Highland restaurant is over priced and poor quality. Seems very popular with families.

We stayed in a contemporary spa cabin. It was very neat and cosy. The staff were lovely and went out of their say to make us comfortable. The food was nice, fresh and local and the wait staff were wonderful.

Had a meal here in the bistro following a bushwalk. They have a nice sunny deck and open fire inside. It's a pretty casual atmosphere and a decent feed. Would suggest calling in for a meal or drinks if passing through after Cradle Mountain. We were there on a warm day so the doors were open which meant lots of flies in the restaurant which was kinda annoying but otherwise a good experience.

Great location for some peace and quiet! Rooms were clean and perfect for some R & R - plenty of wildlife to view from the cabins and lodge grounds, as well as lots of walks. The lodge itself is cosy and quiet - ideal for relaxing in front of the fire with a glass of red, after a long day of walking or doing nothing. The daily breakfast in the restaurant is superb with more than enough delicious fuel to get you through the day and until dinner time! Staff were friendly and welcoming. More information on permits, the shuttle bus and some of the more rigorous walks in the national park would have been helpful, however overall, a wonderful experience. Will definitely stay here again - soon, I hope!

Old and tired, almost neglected. Nice staff and restaurant meals good. Tavern menu average and no good for a coeliac. Unless you are absolutely captivated by the surroundings, is it worth the money? Not even close, but they do have you by the proverbials.

Right in the middle of beautiful walks such as Enchanted and King Billy. Attentive staff throughout our stay with a room that is amazing for such a location. Delicious buffet breakfast. Made us feel special on our anniversary. Fireplaces on throughout the lodge and a Tarvan and Restaurant if you're feeling hungry. Close to everything you need to do on Cradle Mountain. There's so much here, can't imagine another place to stay if you're in the area. Watch out for the wombats enjoying a stroll right outside your cabins.

Thank you to Trudy and the team at Cradle Mountain Lodge for making our stay at the lodge absolute exquisite. The experience was one to remember, and for those keen to explore the wildlife and walks, a very convenient one too! Enjoy

We were very disappointed in this place. The location is great and plenty of wildlife around, however the rooms are very basic and the furniture is outdated and old. The breakfast is one of the worst I ve tried in a hotel for a long time so far, coffee is a joke.

Lovely lodge with individual cabins spread around a small lake. The location, just on the edge of the national park, is perfect, and native wombats, wallabies and pademelons can be seen in the early and late parts of the day. Take the incredible Enchanted Walk nearby, or sit by the fire with a glass of wine. Magic!

Beautiful setting, way overpriced meals and drinks would of spent a lot more time there if not for those factors, perhaps something for the owners to think about. Bums on seats = higher returns

My wife and I came here for our honeymoon in 2017 and it remains as one of our most fondest memories. The staff were exceptionally courteous, the rooms were exquisite and the food delicious. But more importantly, the surrounding wilderness is breathtaking. We were fortunate to have it snow while we were there too and the whole place became a winter wonderland. Highly recommended.

We were meant to say two nights for our anniversary, we booked 2 months before our stay and booked an hour in the spa but an hour before check in we were informed they were doing maintenance and we couldnt nkt have our appointment until the day we left. We went there just for the spa, when we got to out room it was dirty so we asked for a refund which we were told we wasnt aloud to have not even for one night out of our two booked. they said they would upgrade our room but we'd have to pay for the upgrade we asked for a refund and after 30 minutes of the manager trying to convince us to stay they gave us a free nights upgrade but unfortunately not without an additude. Later than night we were in an accident on the property due to the lack of light around the driveways sadly I'll never return our upgraded rooms bathroom was horrible and the spa when turned on had so much dirt and fluff come out of it, it didnt seem to have been cleaned for a very long time.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Our room was great, very warm and great facilities. It was fantastic to be able to walk through nature, often seeing local wildlife like wombats. Also had great food at the tavern and the buffet breakfast was spectacular. Definitely recommend.

Nice area with walks around, ate at Peppers and ordered a rare steak, came out medium and wasn't a great cut of beef. Also had a Pinot noir that had no taste. Very pricey, wouldn't reccomend eating here

The staff were ok we booked fly fishing for two people which is $60 and there was no service on the lodges so when they called to say that they doubled booked us which was after the other family had started we missed the full entire thing but got a full refund and a free bottle of wine.

I had high expectations for Pepper's Cradle Mountain but was disappointed. I can understand why the lodge is expensive, it is incredibly close to a World Heritage Site which brings it's own distinct challenges and costs. However, I did expect our stay to be more luxurious. We stayed in a Pencil Pine Cabin for $350 a night and it was a very tired and dated room in one half of a wooden cabin. The bathroom was tiny with an old fashioned plastic/fibre glass moulded shower. Room size was in line with a mid market corporate hotel. I would recommend avoiding the food in the tavern, it is very poor and reminded me of motorway service station fare. The food in the restaurant is better, but the flavour combinations weren't great. I had Venison and Strawberry for main and although the Venison was well cooked the dish just didn't work. This is by no means a bad hotel, the staff were lovely. I also wonder if the more expensive lodges represent better lodge experiences. My advice would be don't expect too much, and if you are looking for amazing food and luxury accommodation save your money and splurge in Hobart.

TERRIBLE. Old and over priced. Poorly maintained. Scattered and unhelpful staff who are transient tourist. Stood at the desk for 20 mins waiting to check in. No apologies. Literally the slowest internet in the world - with staff making up excuses for it by saying they are too far away / clouds were bad ( not a cloud in sight) when in actual fact too cheap to install high speed internet for visitors. Just pay someone from got sake. Just down the road at the information centre is the fastest public internet I've used. Old mattresses that are stained. Unsanitary spas in rooms - certainly not sterilised during room cleaning. That's just the start. Just old and expensive for $500 a night and living on past laurels. They should be ashamed - better value to stay elsewhere or bring a tent and camp. Would be ok for $200-300 per night...

Somewhat disappointed by this place. The internet is quite deceiving. The facilities are limited. The restaurant wasn't open half the time and the added extras such as the high Tea were not running. There was no mini bar available. The store they tell you to use had hardly anything and souvenirs were non existent. The bistro was great though its meal were delicious and good value for money but it didn't open till 12 noon. The free breakfast has a very limited selection and was not the best. The highlight was the room. It was still over priced by an excessive amount but it was still luxurious and made it all the let downs that we got.

Great location for a mountain hotel. Cottages were clean and roomy and warm. Beatiful walks around. I really enjoyed the stay.

I must say the spa and caffe were drawbacks though. Be careful with the massaors they don't seem to be experienced. Caffe's food were not good quality and they over charge. It's not cool to sell a $25 bottle of Riesling $64!!

We stayed here for our belated Wedding Anniversary and my Birthday. The staff were amazing Pilla and Uma at check-in were extremely helpful and friendly and welcoming. They really looked after us! They sent us a bottle of Bubbly with chocolates. Such a wonderful gesture. One of the managers, Kaushik, took me to a waterfall on his time off. That's going over and above!
Thank you so much everyone! You gave us an extremely enjoyable and memorable experience

Beautiful, cabins really spread over property. Very secluded. Wallabies and wombats on wall from cabin to main area. Food very expensive. Maybe bring some easy make dinners etc. close to national park entry

Nice cosy stay. Our room was quite nice, the whole lodge had a genuine "cabin in the woods" feel, and although there was no wifi in our room or in the main areas, it was nice to be disconnected from the internet. Dove Lake was a stunning walk, just around the corner by shuttle bus.

Stayed in a log cabin which had a gas fire. We needed it to dry out our wet clothes. This is a very expensive resort bearing in mind that the cabins are well past their best and in need of some urgent updating.

Food and any form of drink are pricey. The main saving grace of this resort are the many walks you can do into the mountains and the numerous wild animals that frequent the gardens. I wouldn't advise paying for guided walks as the paths are extremely well marked. Bring warm and wet weather clothes as the climate changes by the day
I am adding to this review after a dreadful experience at breakfast. I couldn't get any coffee from the machine - a problem which has been pointed out by other reviews. I asked a waitress to be told that " if I want a good cup of coffee I need to pay for it". Her attitude was appalling and to make matters worse the breakfast wasn't hot. Nobody seems to care.

My final advice to travellers is stay somewhere where they value their customers.

Rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, but the best thing by far was the proximity to the national park and the wildlife. We were there for only one night in summer, but during that brief time there we managed to see wombats and pademelons with their babies, and a very chill echidna. The restaurant food is fantastic, and the lodge is only a few minutes drive from the park as well as the Tasmanian devil sanctuary. Only wish we had the chance to stay longer!

Had an amazing stay. There are some beautiful walks around the property, the rooms are well kept and the meals were really good as well.

Small let downs
- the only mirror is in the bathroom and terrible hairdryer.
- the coffee was horrendous.

We eloped here and stayed for 3 nights. Our entire stay everything was amazing. But the restaurant staff were a massive standout!!! We as parents of toddlers find it difficult to have a meal out and this occasion was particularly special as it was our wedding dinner and the staff were beyond amazing!!! They helped out SO MUCH with our toddlers they nearly had me in tears with their generosity. They were amazing! AMAZING! Thank you!

The location is fantastic, right at the entry to the national park leading to dove lake and cradle mountain. The rooms are great (cosy, modern enough, clean) given the remoteness. The food is a let down and thats a real shame - they could do so much with the menu given the captive audience and whilst it seems promising when you look at the menu, it is quite disappointing execution.

We stayed a spa suite. The spa was very relaxing after my 4.5hr hiking on the Overland Track to Crater Lake to Wombat Pool to Lilliac Track & back to Ronnie Creek. The Receptionist was very helpful in preparing a Breakfast Take-away Picnic Bag as I was not taking breakfast on 1 March. The next day I found the breakfast very appetizing and healthy. This place is a relaxing resort with no Wi-Fi and TV in the suite. To get access to Wi-Fi, we need to access it in the Lobby only. Very relaxed atmosphere indeed. A good place of accommodation indeed.

Very nice, beautiful place, with various trails right by the hotel and right beside the national park. Only complaint is that in the winter, your heating is a fire, which dries out the air. I was waking up with a very dry nose and throat. Otherwise, highly recommend!

Nice view and pretty good place. I gave 4 stars due to Wifi and Television were not available in our room, only available in the guest lounge. Wifi is a must now days. Whereas, we stayed at a different hotel the day before, very close to this and they had Wifi and TV. On plus side, Peppers Cradle Lodge has free washing machine and dryer when we were there.
