I am not a particular fan of cabin style accomodations, but it is hard to beat the wildlife immersion. Wallabies, wombats, and echidnas are abundant on the property and the surroundings. There a plenty of treks within walking distance for people of all skill/fitness levels. It was a fun stay.

Olde style cosy feel in the main lodge section with open fires and some comfy sofas, and welcoming staff on check in. Did however have some issues, we were advised to dial 9 from the cabin phone to speak to reception, however soon as we got to the cabin, we tried several times and no one answers (pretty similar experience if you actually try to ring this place to enquire or before you check in). Also no signal unless you re with Telstra. A little frustrating if you re in a cabin which is a long way from the lodge. Despite the high price, there is no wifi or tv in the room (unless you want to pay a ridiculously high price for the King Billy suite which does have a tv). You can go to the tavern which does have tvs but they close at 9pm, we wouldn t normally be fussed but were keen to watch the Australian open tennis. The wifi was mainly an issue from a trip planning point of view and communication with friends staying at other lodge and organising the next day, I heard quite a lot complaining about this to each other from a tour group at breakfast. Also asked about room service for food which they advised was not available at the moment due to covid (but they do allow a buffet style breakfast ), the opposite of logic. The spa bath in the room was very large but also had to be filled to the top for the jets to work and not spray all over the place, which probably isn t the most environmentally friendly.
On the positive side, it was awesome having the wood burner, the bed was huge and comfy and the cabin is in an excellent setting where you can see wild animals out of the window. Also an excellent nature walk where you can see wombats at night.

Paid full price despite being notified of renovations only 4 days before arriving. Rooms are outdated and staff largely unhelpful. Wine tasting was a complete waste of time, run by a staff member with little knowledge.

Incredible location right outside the national Park. Parking is available directly outside the cabins. There's no wifi or tv in the rooms but the hotel provides boardgames for entertainment. The tavern which allows walk ins provides good food and you can buy bottles at the bar to bring back to your room.

We were only able to have lunch at the Tavern Bistro as accommodation was unavailable on our visit. Can highly recommend as food was delicious and service from all staff outstanding.
Be sure to do the enchanted forest walk which starts or finishes at the side of the lodge.

Great old school type lodge with modern updates thanks to the peppers group. Room 73 had a faux fireplace which was excellent once the temperature dropped unexpectedly below 10 degrees. Excellent service. Book into the spa - a great few hours of pampering. Pick of the places to stay at the Cradles. You will pay for it too.

We stayed for two nights and weather was unfortunately not in our favour, the cabin was both modern and well maintained inside with that rustic exterior, the main building has a wonderfully frontier style and appointments, playing chess by the window is a great way to spend a rainy day.

Points must also go to the staff who were all well trained and friendly.

Shame Highlands restaurants chef isn't of the same calibre.

Awesome location however extremely expensive if your hungry or thirsty! Whilst rustic and great views once dark and no views its a tired establishment thats over priced as example $25+ for a burger sorry in my world its called tourist gouging!

Our cabin was not ready at check-in time; we were told someone would fetch us from the bar when we could check-in, no person ever came. The cabins are not self-contained and there is no room service, which means you are forced to eat in their very expensive restaurants along with noisy, badly behaved children as they dont have family sittings . Booked my husband in for a package of facial and scalp and foot massage after a 6hr hike, and they left out the foot massage - the thing he was most looking forward to.
Overall not at all value for money. I won t go back.

Good food and service, can get busy for dinner so get in early for a table or just sit next door in the lounge area. A little expensive but more than expected for a place out inside the national park. Burgers were great!!

I was amazed by their genuine hospitality. The receptionist Avi and chinese guy(sorry dont remember the name) provided us unbelievably genuine and nice service. Me and my friend lost our car key during the hiking and almost ended up sleeping freezing outside since all the hotels near cradle mountain were fully booked. But these guys helped us and made our whole trip by trying every possibility for us. It was an unbelievable favor and full of caring and love just as human being. Thanks guys! You are kind of the people who make this world beautiful. And I hope you have a good good life as Karma xx

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed it. The service was second to none and the food options were good. The buffet breakfast had everything you need and the restaurant and taven had a good range for lunch or dinner. Perfect for romance and what you need after hiking all day.

King Billie suite is a must. Perfect space to relax and unwind with its own fire place and outdoor hot tub. Spa + message treatment is also unparalleled. Highly professional. All round very welcoming and friendly. Great way to kick start any Tasmanian adventure.

Four stars for great facilities and comfortable accommodation. Minus 1 star for the little insects e.g spiders . I know it's in the wilderness and can't be helped but they do provide insect spray which is good. Food is great at the tavern bar and bistro, breakfast at Highlands is pretty good too. However the dinner at Highlands was a lil bit more pricey but the quality is good. The more affordable option would be tavern bar. Highlight if my trip was the massage and steam bath at Waldheim Alpine spa.

One of the best cabin resorts we've been. The cabin we took had a temperature adjustable gas & wood fireplace, and a hot tub. So relaxing and comfortable. The reception lodge has a classy vintage feel.

$430per night should be a night to remembered, not in a old dusty itchy dirty cabin with no basic amenities. You'd think after paying Hilton's prices you'd expect at least a refrigerator.... Maybe a TV.... Possibly some tea.... A clean kettle maybe..... Or freaking internet!! To top it off... Why not try their 5 course degustation menu, apparently Tasmanian renowned and not just have average food but try waiting a good three hours to complete 5 courses and tea in espresso cups. Feel sorry for everyone they are milking dry (including my partner and i of course) 2% surcharge for everything. You'd think it's a world heritage listed place and should be promoting tourism for the state with the international visitors and not ripping them off. Well it's done now. Just thought people out there should know. It's not the best value for money. But cradle mountain is beautiful nonetheless.

Location is excellent at the foothills of the national park. Rooms are okay - nothing special. Spa facility is nice but super expensive. Tavern bistro is good for a quick casual meal. Staff are friendly. The lodge advertises 'guided walks' everywhere but apparently they only have 2 guides on staff. Currently one is on leave and the other is sick so there are no activities... seems a bit ridiculous to only have two guides on the staff for a lodge which presumably has about 100 rooms.

Stayed two nights here in a one bedroom. Cabin. Was pretty magical surrounded by wombats and paddy melons. The enchanted walk is right at the hotel and is pretty spectacular. All in all I would say it was a must do. Pack warm clothes thought as even in the middle of summer it was below summer overnight.

So glad I did this. It's very calming place. Walking, hiking and fishing. Inside Peppers is what I call A Nook Room. It's for time out for ones self. Other words it's a quite area. The staff inside Peppers were wonderful. There is a place before. It's got a big souvenirs store and if you haven't eaten a buffet tea just across from it. L led yummy . It's $52.00 A/H.

Very nice stay, helpful staff and great location. Internet is available in specific areas and reception is not powerful so it is important to bring your book or entertainment for night time. Luckily the Lodge has boardgames available. Recommended!

we stayed in a spa room, they are a little dated but very clean. our room was cosy and warm when we arrived. i loved our little balcony it was very private. We had dinner at the Highlands restaurant, i was a little disappointed with the food from here. My husband and i both ordered the steak, mine was rare his really well done ( charcoaled ) they told us they had a button for that. My steak was OK but my husbands had to go back 2 times. Our night was saved by one of their team members, his name is Nikita, his personality is fantastic. Not only was he very helpful ( he got our meals sorted out for us ) but he was happy to do it, he was rushed off his feet but he checked back with us multiple times until our meals were done just to see if we needed anything else. All in all our stay was great

Management team are gracious and hospitable. Mini provided exceptional customer service throughout our stay. The spa cabin was lovely and cozy - thank you! Unfortunately the bar food here was surprisingly poor and the restaurant food not much better. Quality of food is critical in our opinion, and during our three night stay it was a significant disappointment. All things considered, we would recommend staying here - stunning location and more. Though a paradigm shift in the kitchen(s) would be welcomed.

High quality accommodation at a cost. Cabins are great, the wildlife around the lodge is nothing short of spectacular. Absence of WiFi across the premises (only available in lodge) and the blocking of streaming services on the lodge WiFi, doesn't meet contemporary expectations.

I ordered the meat lovers pizza and it was pretty ordinary but my friend's schnitzel looked decent. It's a convenient spot to eat if you head out to Cradle Mountain bit the food was nothing to write home about.

Not a bad place but certainly not worth $475 a night! Rooms are just ok .. heater stopped working in our room and we had to move our things to the cabin next door at 11pm in the rain ... just expect better for that sort of money ... bathroom was really average... wouldn't stay there again.. on a good note the resturant was nice and staff friendly

The location in general is a must. The lodge is decent over all. Dining is grade A with a few options. The general dining is a good deal with huge portions, the fish and chips are amazing. the nightly reserved dinner is very well done with prime dishes. The views from The cabins are pretty good but the inside of the units are definitely aged. Great layout but clearly aged. If your looking for a modern place move on for sure. So over all value is maybe 7/10.

We really enjoyed staying here and would come back on our next visit. The no internet policy was surprising at first however made the whole experience more relaxing. We just sat by the fireplace and talked to each other, something most of us usually forget to do, even on holidays. The location was excellent and close to cradle mountain national park. We saw a few cute animals near our rooms and also did the night time night wildlife spotting tour which they offered. There s also a few walking tracks right next to the lodge with beautiful waterfalls, great for a quick walk.

Really good amenities and a great restaurant. Great local walks and wallabies and wombats in the evenings. The food was great without being mind blowing. I was disappointed that the degustation menu was just pick 2 entrees, a main and a dessert. Also they advertise that they have mountain biking but you can only ride on the sealed roads that are for cars.

Upmarket chalet style lodgings just outside of the Cradle Mountain national park. Cabins scattered around a pretty location connected by tracks and narrow road access for your car. Some cabins have wood fire places but most are heated by gas keeping the room cosy. We had a spa room - the bath/spa was a bit small but welcome after a day of walking. Reasonably priced (we booked a special), with a restaurant, bar and public cafe/pub.

The staff were really friendly and did what they could to provide a pleasant stay.
Given the price the rooms were quite lacking in a lot of ways.
We dined at the restuarant on the first night and the prices were exorbitant and unfortunately the quality wasn't quite there.
The restaurant menu was quite small and if you were staying a few nights you would be sick of the lack of options offered.
The hotel meals were more moderately priced and quality wise wasn't much different than the restaurant it's just the hotel gets very busy given the walk in nature as opposed to booking in a guest only setting.
The staff were great it's just unfortunate the chefs couldn't quite provide what's expected given the prices charged.

Booked a spa suite - greatly enjoyed the quiet ( being at the quieter end of the resort) and found the location of the Lodge to be really handy for being right at the Park s entrance / bus stop for the commute to Ronny Creek / Dove Lake Circuit. A few easy walks are co-located within the Lodge s vicinity as well. The night-time wildlife tour with the very affable Paul, was good fun. I would certainly stay at CML if I m ever back there again in the future.

We had a great stay, we got upgraded when we checked in to a spa suite which was nice ( unfortunately they were doing upgrades but as I have heard they are much needed. amazing that the lodge is right next to cradle mountain itself. and the buffet breakfast was amazing! would love to stay again but would make sure I stay more than one night as 1 night isn't enough if you want to trek around cradle mountain
