The environment and the room are beautiful, but the front desk service is waiting for the good. They are very careful and polite to the Westerners, and they are perfunctory to the Chinese, which is not good. The front desk staff also assigned our room to another pair of passengers on the same day. When we returned to the room and found their luggage, this service was incredible.

Stayed here two nights in November. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here and will try and provide others on some insights when making your decision to stay or not. I tossed up whether this should be a 3 or 4 star rating I am leaning towards 4 stars, if google enabled 3.5 stars that s what we would give. We loved our stay, here are the details Check in was pleasant and most staff were awesome. Food and beverage staff appeared to lack some skills for the price range of this hotel Peppers is not cheap by any stretch. Had an experience with wait staff drop food on my chair, including cutlery, didn t come back to wipe it off or pick up cutlery. While on food, we only had breakfast here very basic for the price! It was ok, but for the price, you may be a bit disappointed (I was). Lucky I am not here for the food! Simple things like table service for coffee non existent! I stayed in room 76, I found the rooms to be ok, plenty of space in the rooms for two people. As other reviews have mentioned they are tired and need a birthday . I found them to be pretty good for these reasons I loved the bush feel they gave, they felt very private (except that you had a neighbour and the walls are not sound proof!). I loved that each morning or afternoon we had wallabies or wombats outside our cabin each day. I loved the fireplace in the room. The room service people (we had a lady called Brooke) who made up our room was awesome. They would each day reset your fire place with paper, fire lighters and tinder so that all you had to do when you came back was strike a match and the fire was off and racing!. There is more fire wood supplied in your room than you will ever need, we loved this part of our experience. The spa was also excellent after long walks to come back and soak in. There is a nice private balcony to sit and enjoy, I loved being beside the running creek and seeing animals and hearing the birds, this part was 6 stars!!! Bed was very comfortable, complimentary small bottle of port and fruit and cheese was also very nice. I have mentioned the price here a bit, not sure I would choose this place if I had to pay cash I used Qantas points. We enjoyed our stay.

This place was exactly what we needed to end our trip in Tasmania. The staff is exceptionally helpful. We arrived early and our rooms were not ready. They took down our numbers and called us as soon as it was ready. We were booked in the pencil pine cabin which was absolutely beautiful. It was super clean, well equipped and very large and roomy. There was parking available right outside the cabin. The hotel is right next to the ranger station where you can catch the shuttle to go into cradle mountain national park. It has two very good restaurants (we ate at both of them and loved it). They also have a laundry room in case you want to do your laundry.

A few things travellers should note:
1. There was no air-conditioning in our cabin. We didn't need it, but I'd assume you do if ever gets hot up there.
2. There is no WiFi in the rooms for people who are addicted to their gadgets.
3. There is a minor credit card surcharge at their restaurants. It's really insignificant, but take cash if you don't want to pay that extra dollar or two.
4. They provide late checkout (based on availability) and charge a flat rate per hour. We found this very useful as we wanted to checkout a little after noon.

Fantastic wilderness experience! Wonderful scenery and plenty of wildlife to enjoy. We didn't get to do all the walks we wanted to as it rained on our one full day, but that just meant curling up in front of our fire with a good book and glass of red :) Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Loved the feel and comfort of this lodge, nestled deep in the national park it feels so close to nature yet comfortable enough for someone used to the city. It is also located right in front of the entrance to the road leading to Dove Lake. It comprises of a main cabin where the restaurant and tavern are located, and where the only WiFi hotspot is located at. The guest cabins are spread out around the main cabin, and are comfortable for a good night's rest. There's no wifi or TV, only a radio, and helps with what the property calls 'digital detox', so it might not be for everyone. The cabins came with a seating area right at the door to dust off shoes to keep the rooms clean after exploring and hiking in the park. Overall a very enjoyable stay and highly recommended!

Rooms dated no hot milk facilities in room. The fridge was cold and exploded our glass water bottle and our wine turned to ice. We were told it was put in freezer when we clearly did not. Paid $725 for the room. Not happy on our honeymoon.

A decent lodge directly next door to the park and shuttle bus into the walking routes. F

Cabins have everything you need - a warm gas fireplace, comfortable bed, and a very relaxing spa bath after a long hike.
Covid has created some annoying restrictions on the restaurant, which has moved to a two or three course only option and upped prices (which is a shame as a la carte would be preferable). Equally, the pub also has shut down the pizza oven (seemingly because of too few people) yet the pizzas look the best option. Breakfast is now a la carte, but the plus is that it has lots of dietary requirements catered for - including a good vegan brekkie. The toast was perpetually burnt however, and be prepared to pay extra for barrista coffee.
There's a lovely area for a glass of wine after a walk on the Chesterfield sofa by the fire, and chess set close by. Sadly you can't have a cheeseboard in here due to some slightly arbitrary 'no food in the lounge' rule.
Keep an eye out for wildlife around the lodge too -birds, plenty of wallabys and the odd little fat wombat.

Note - the lodge is also far from any stores so bring your own snacks, wine / beer for the room as there is no minibar but there is a fridge.

If you are in Tasmania, put this on your must see list. Staff are exceptional, food is incredible and very reasonably priced. Great coffee, and short walk to 2 waterfalls, all close to Cradle mountain. Definitely worth a visit and although I didn't stay here, it would be so beautiful.

Fantastic destination after all those windy roads! Hotel and cabins in the grounds. Also shop. Accommodation was superb, clean and comfortable. In lodge there were two restaurants, a bistro and a more formal restaurant. When I went, there were beautiful log fires in every main area. Very comfortable. Food was amazing. There is a spa. Beautiful scenery and river close by. 3 resident platypus, many wombats and other fauna. Walkways to the Pencil Pine (?) waterfall and wildlife . I'm looking forward to my next visit!

I can't explain enough the amount of work these guys put in for us on our wedding day. We weren't even staying in the lodge yet they did anything the could to make our day special. They not only made our wedding day the most memorable day of our lives, buy, they will always be firmly and fondly remembered as an integral part of our day.

The rooms have a great interior design and the fake fireplace gas heater is a beautiful touch that keeps the rooms wonderfully toasty and atmospheric. Staff were very courteous and friendly. Lack of wifi in the room was a bit of a bummer but then again, one does stay at such a place to get away from it all. The optional extras, including spa entry is very expensive, too expensive in my opinion. Food, even in the bar as opposed to the restaurant is likewise expensive but thankfully breakfast is included with your room stay. Would very much recommend a night or two here to maximise your enjoyment of Cradle mountain's surrounds and atmosphere in the winter periods.

Located right at the National Park entrance, this is the closest place to Cradle Mountain to stay. The main lodge is cosy and rustic and newly renovated, and has a large fireplace and lots of comfy sofas. Free WiFi available here.
There is no WiFi available in the cabins, and No or limited phone signal (Telstra gets a very faint signal/ Optus nothing at all).
Cabins are scattered between the native trees but just a short walk to the main lodge. Cabins are comfy and quiet but be aware there is No tv , No safe, No dressing gowns and No air conditioning! Facilities do incl. a Nespresso machine and kettle, and bar fridge. And lovely Appelles toiletries.
We booked a Contemporary Spa Cabin but there was nothing much contemporary about it - it was very rustic and dated. The corner jacuzzi bath (very 1980 s) in a windowless bathroom makes it a Spa cabin apparently.
Lots of wallabies wander around the cabin area, and several wombats too - so cute!
There are several short walks that start from around the hotel area. Peppers also have a formal restaurant (Highland) and a casual bistro, both located in the main lodge. Breakfast is served in the Highland Restaurant and it s excellent. Beautiful poached eggs on request (free). Coffee is self-service from a machine but it s excellent.
We had a wonderful stay, even though it was not the luxury standard Peppers experience we were expecting.
Nice rustic cabin experience on the doorstep of the stunning Cradle Mountain NP.

Great place to have a get together or just a meal before heading out on the Overland Track like we did. The food is delicious and priced fairly as well. I haven't stayed there a night so I cannot comment on how good the accommodation is.

Do Not Stay Here

Do Not Stay Here

Sadly made the regrettable mistake of staying in this property for what seemed to be the longest night of my life,

Given the premium prices paid for the rooms they are very run down, in adequate, not comfortable and not at all what you would expect from a reputable accommodation provider,

Room was not clean with blood stains in the bathroom, bed was broken with missing legs and there was no ventilation in the room meaning you were practically sleeping in a sauna,

Staff at the tavern also clearly weren t excited to thrilled to be working with next to no one displaying any ability to provide any form of decent customer service,

This was followed by one of the worst meals I have ever had, soup was bland and tasteless and pasta dish was swimming in oil... all over just added to the already disappointing accommodation issues,

The thought at midnight to leave and travel elsewhere was actually hindered by the closure of reception at night meaning I felt like I was trapped and paying for a premium product at the same time,

Do yourself a favour and don t waste your time or hard earned money on this property as you will regret it. You are better of staying in a cabin at the local caravan park and will be for sure a lot more well treated and comfortable

Consider yourself warned
