These guys are amazing. I broke my derailleur on a ride in Golden - the part wasn't in stock at any shop I could find in the Denver area and these guys did everything they could to make sure they got the part in and on my bike as quickly as possible. Thank you guys!

I can't say enough good things about our experience at this shop. Visiting from out of town, we stopped into Pedal Pushers for some help fixing a broken spoke. Even though every repair bay was in use, Eric made room for us and proceeded on what turned out to be a very involved repair. Super professional and friendly, and clearly knowledgeable.

Fantastic service! I got a bit of attitude at another bike shop in town in response to a simple request so I headed down to Pedal Pushers Cyclery instead. Marco, Jeff and Brian did an amazing job taking care of me and they were super cool dudes. I highly recommend this shop!

Disclaimer: I'm a noob to MTB. I stopped by Pedal Pushers to pick up some spare tubes so I could fix the flat plaguing my rear wheel. The crew must have sensed I was an out-of-place roadie and politely inquired about my relative repair acumen my on mountain setup, then invited me back to the work area. (I know, I know: a bike is a bike is a bike right? Disc brakes, derailleur clutch, thru axles rather than skewers...trust me I needed the education.) Bottom Line: the crew provided a fast but comprehensive education while taking me through the repair, even walked me through pros/cons of tubeless set-up. We we're done in ~15 min, price was unbeatable, and the service was top notch. We left the store and later realized they never charged me for valve stems for the tubeless conversion...we called them back and they insisted we were square, felt like we had to cajole them to run the charge for the money we owed rightly owed them. Been to a LOT of bike shops in NM, AZ, MD, and CO and never had such a positive experience. Oh, and did I mention they have beer on tap in shop??? Yeah, no point in going anywhere else. Thanks guys!

The team at Pedal Pushers Cyclery took care of me from the moment I first stepped into the shop. Eric personally made sure that everything would be taken care of with my bike problems. He even took some extra time to explain the process with me. I will always trust them for all my bike needs!

We went for bicycle repair-- 1st they told 50$ then when I brought it in It become 75$. When I asked they said that the person who did the estimate was not longer there. Recommended that we buy new one. What gives?

Fast friendly help, good prices! When I went in they had some amazing deals on helmets, clothing, and components. I really like the fact that they were selling some used parts that they must have pulled off bikes during upgrades - not throwing them out.
The owner is really nice and does extra to contribute to the community.

Best shop I've ever been in. Staff is incredibly helpful and you don't receive the 'pretentious judgmental vibe' you'd normally get in a bike shop. Owner is down to earth and willing to help even the smallest issues. If you're looking to open a bike shop, take notes.

I am disappointed because I was quoted that it would cost $116 for new seals and oil for my front fork. However, when it was time to pick up my bike, I was charged $183. When I asked about the quote they printed off for me they said it just had labor on it, not the parts. If you are going to do a repair, you should be honest with the costumer and let them know THE TOTAL of what it will cost. $183 is a lot of money for new seals and oil.

Great Bikes, great owner, great mechanics, great service! Pedal Pushers has everything you need and their staff is always willing to chat about bike issues, bikes, gear, etc... Their bike selection is amazing, and they have a friendly dog staff too. I highly recommend Pedal Pushers, it's nice to have a bike shop in Golden that actually cares about their customers and doesn't act snobby like some of the other bike shops in town.

Great customer service!!! Super friendly, informative, very suggestive. Had a straight forward answer to all my questions and also did great work on what I needed. Taught me what I had wanted to learn. Price was competitive and better then most in old town Golden. Also had good music and beer offered at service desk! If this shop was closer to my home base I'd probably go more often. Thanks guys for the service and humble lessons on cycling!!

Just purchased my first ebike I am addicted. I was unsure about spending the cash to go electric but it is the best money I have ever spent. The thing that made me go for it was this shop and their unsurpassed customer service & support. They also tuned up my old bike for a nickle to keep as a backup. Heading back soon for an e-bike for my kids cuz my 3 teenagers can not keep up with me now on trails.

Awesome shop with great selection, knowledgeable and down to earth staff. Eric got us out on rentals and gave us guidance on getting on some great trails. Appreciate the hospitality and service and gotta love the custom beer tap! Glad I know where to go next time I m in town.

I see some of the poor posts below and wonder what people are thinking. Seems super misinformed. I appreciate all the work these guys do and have absolutely never been overcharged for anything. These guys really know bikes. I have had some major issues with my bikes and they are always repaired in a timely fashion but more importantly, with expertise. These guys live the lifestyle and give off great stoke. Highly recommend them.

I'm going to edit my review. I was charged a fair amount for a full-service fork and shock rebuild, but honestly, it was a bike that was 6 months old and probably just needed the basic suspension service, not a complete overhaul. My frustration was that I was expecting a basic suspension service but got talked into a really fancy rebuild without really understanding what they were going to do. I was never told the price until I went to pick it up and was given a $300 bill when I was expecting to pay about half that. Basically, I got upsold without knowing it. Make sure to ask for prices up front.

Additionally, I'm always happy to pay more for good service, but they convinced me to set up my fork and shock totally wrong. I weigh 135, why would you tell me I need THREE tokens in my fork? After paying $300, you made my bike feel like I had only half the travel in the fork and landing drops felt like I was landing on a rigid fork. My frame cracked a few months later on the rear triangle, and although I suspect it wasn't built right, I also wonder if having a basically rigid fork put needless stress on the frame and aided in the stress crack on the rear triangle.

Please don't make more bad recommendations while simultaneously upselling services.

They get 2 stars because they were friendly and at least had a fast turnaround with the service (2 days).

Further evidence of their price issues (though this is minor compared to the suspension service): While we were waiting for them to redo the brake (they also serviced one brake but didn't do it right and it had air in the lines that was immediately apparent - maybe they didn't check their work? - but at least they fixed it immediately), they offered a cider and said it would only be like $3-4. We said sure, they opened it, we started drinking it. Then when she went to charge it, it was actually $8. She took off a dollar, but it seemed pretty lame to tell us one price and then charge us more once it was already opened. Minor, but felt like a pattern.

I am not trying to bash a hard-working bike shop, but I wanted to share that experience in the hopes that doesn't happen to anyone else.

Staff at Pedal Pushers are Knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge. Good advice regarding purchases and service. No pressure atmosphere. One of the best. Be careful, lots of high end bikes, very tempting, you may leave with unexpected purchase.

Eric and his whole team have been amazing to work with! They found perfect bikes for my husband and I and continually worked with us to make sure they were properly fitted. The shop is really cool and the staff is even better! Highly recommend.

I bought a bike from a large online bike retailer and it arrived with the drive train so out of wack that it was virtually un-rideable . I popped into these guys on a recommendation of a friend and they had me up and running in 15 minutes . Great shop !

Great Experience with my Purchase - After having let me take out a new, not-yet-ridden, showroom bike as a demo with no advanced reservation or warning, I ended up buying the high-end mountain bike with carbon fiber wheelset. Great group of guys. Very knowledgeable of current industry trends. They obviously got my business.

Just purchased a Scott Contessa Genius mountain bike after riding 9 years on my old Specialized Safire and had a great experience! From the selection of the bike, specs, sizing, build, fitting, and accessories, Eric and the rest of the team did a great job, were super encouraging, yet didn't pressure me in any way. I would highly recommend Pedal Pushers for your next mountain bike purchase...and their beers are great too!

Long time customer, just want to say always have good experience with the mechanics. I'm picky on where I bring my full suspension bikes and the staff always has top notch experience without talking to you in a pretentious manner. That is really important to me since I have had backround in the industry and appreciate when mechanics talk to you like a normal person. Thanks guys

By far the best service I have ever experienced at a bike shop. My shock had blown out a few weeks after a service the day before leaving for a race. The shock was brought back to the shop and Sheldon had worked after shop had closed and drove it back to my house after 9:00. He asked for no charge because he believed it should ve been done correctly the first time. I have immense amounts of respect for Sheldon standing by his work and working after hours to help me out.

I bought it brand-new ripmo AF and the crank snapped off within 5 minutes of riding! Also I had a cush installed in the rear tire and the bikes sat in the living room until Christmas and then the tire was flat. The big disappointment is how did the crank snap-off. Is it Ibis Or the guys at Pedal Pusher who set the bike up. Regardless that should never have happened, that could have caused a major injury and we'll see if shop stands behind this.

Update:
Well they stood behind it and fix it on the spot. It sounds like it was a fluke from Shimano when they cut the crank. Either way it's fixed. Also the service manager helped setup the brakes and the levers and answered some questions, overall great experience.

Great shop with people and an owner that cares about the customer. They do things the right way and want to take care of you and your bike. A bar on site is a huge plus if you are hanging out for a simple repair or need a place to grab a quick drink.

First time in Pedal Pushers and I have to say I'm very impressed. I believe in supporting my LBS but unfortunately not all bike shops are the same. There are many bike shops that seem clicky but this isn't one of them. They made me feel like I was one of the crew when I walked in the door. No really they put me to work like one of the crew lol. All and all Eric was professional and very knowledgeable when it came to his trade. He not only sold me the tires and gear I wanted but installed my tires on the spot in no time.

I would highly recommend this place for all your cycling needs. From quality merch and gear to quality service.

Great service. Friendly staff. Right across from the light rail via the bridge. I attempted to rebuild my own front fork and when it got too frustrating decided to bring it to PP. They were helpful and attentive and actually gave me some quick tips for some of the other work I'd done on my bike.

Mountain biking is an expensive sport, but their prices are reasonable for the higher end brands they carry. More importantly, these guys don't "poor shame" you. I've experienced many mtbike shops where your equipment is looked down on if it isn't the most brand new thing or the latest fad; I experienced this with thru axles, tubeless tires, 29ers, "fad' (fat) bikes, and 650b. Those types of shops will try and shame you into a successful upsell.

Not this place.

They may do somethings well, but it's definitely not suspension service. Waited roughly a week just to have my bike looked at. Got a call saying they didn't have required tools to work on my shock. They offered a loaner shock, so I went to pick up my bike and was told it could be another 2 weeks before I got my Fox Float X2 shock back. So, I took my bike with the loaner shock and headed to Winter Park. Once at Winter Park, I checked the air pressure in my Fox 36 fork, which was almost double what I normally have it set at. Upon releasing air, the uppers of the fork were sucked into the lowers, losing around half or more of my travel. Even at double the psi, I still lost around 10-15mm's of travel. The trip to Winter Park was a huge waste of time and gas. Taking my bike to Pedal Pushers for suspension service, also a huge waste of time.

This is my only experience with these guys, and will be my last. They did however, return the money I spent on the fork, which was the right thing to do. I'm not saying these guys are bad people, but it's apparent that they lack the professional knowledge and equipment to do proper suspension work. Don't waste you time, go elsewhere.

Just needed some cable housing. Trying to support a LBS instead of ordering on Amazon, wont do that again. $16 for 4 ft. When I asked how the housing they brought me (LEX) compared to what I came into get (FLEX SL), guy tells me better. Liars. LEX is lowest line. I would ve bought it either way as I was there so why lie. Will never be back to this shop and would never consider buying a bike from a shop that lies.

We have patronized Pedal Pushers Cyclery for many years and have continued to do so even after moving out of the Denver area several years ago. However we've seen a significant shift in their customer service specific to their store manager. He has been unfriendly, rude and completely lacks any customer service qualities. Sadly we will be taking our business elsewhere from this point forward.

Update: Erik (store owner) called and this issue was resolved. Appreciate his followup and happy to give them another chance.

Shoutout to Justin and Pedal Pushers for quickly getting my bike rolling again. I had a rare weekday off and was excited to ride some less crowded trails. I started pedaling up Belcher and my derailleur was super clunky when shifting. Attempted some trial side maintenance with a fellow MTBer but had no luck. I was not expecting a quick turnaround with bike shops being slammed these days. After 15 minutes at the shop, Justin diagnosed the problem as a failing clutch. Not only did he get me setup with a warranty replacement derailleur (on its way) but came up with a temporary fix to get me back on the trail that afternoon. Super friendly and knowledgeable group of riders/mechanics at Pedal Pushers!

First time going there today and WOW! Stocked extremely well, very clean, and the staff was fantastic. Turns out I was helped by the owner Eric and man is he a cool guy. Helped me out with a spring on an older bike and treated me like I was his favorite customer to spite having just met. Fantastic customer service and backed up by a beautiful store. I will be going back for sure. A+ in my book.

I frequent this bike shop and another one in Golden closer to my house. Both spots are great and I always come away a little more informed than I was prior to visiting. Could I find certain items cheaper online? Yes, but I like to support the local LBS and have items in my hand as opposed to waiting for the Amazon truck. They definitely talk highly of the brands they carry but not so much about other bike brands. They do carry a great lineup but to dis other companies is kind of disappointing. I'm in sales and the first thing I learned is to give props to the competition for what they do well, never speak negatively, and then use that to explain why your product is superior. That said, I don't get any condescending attitude that can be found in some other bike shops in the area and I'm an ignorant noob that asks a lot of questions.

Eric and Trip are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to suspension, hydraulic brake upgrades and bike re-builds. All my questions were answered and the work done on my bike has been fantastic thus far. If you are looking for a shop with REAL professional experience and performance in the area, Pedal Pushers is the way to go!

All in all just an okay experience, as communication and customer service could be better. Had a last minute tire repair that needed to be completed, and they were able to squeeze me in for a relatively quick turnaround and work seems to be adequate. I dropped off the tire shortly after opening and I was told multiple times before departing it would be done early afternoon so I could pick it up by EOB. I was promised someone would call me. I called 15 minutes before close and was told and was told "It's been done for a bit - didn't someone call you?" No. The next day (today) my wife stopped by to pick up the wheel on her way home, and the customer service was lacking. She didn't receive communication about payment, rather just the associate stuck his hand out implying she should give him a card. When she asked the total was told "Your husband was already told this information". No, actually I wasn't, because I was never called, and when I was communicated with, I was told no pricing could be communicated until I picked up the wheel. I totally understand that things can be very busy, especially given the uptick of outdoor recreation during the pandemic and we all adjust, but your customers also shouldn't feel intimidated whether they are biking pros or someone just picking an item up.

I have been biking (mountain and road) for about 20 years. Over the years, I have had my bikes serviced in most of the bike shops in the Golden area. I started taking my bikes to Pedal Pushers about three years ago to compare them to other bike shops. So far, they fix and tune my bikes better than anyone else for a fair price and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend Pedal Pushers Cyclery!

They can do some pretty good service. However, it depends on the tech. Had a full rebuild on shocks (front/rear) and some other work. Great job and had a super fun bike (almost new) for a couple rides last summer.

However, I snapped my rear derailleur and it was a poo show at this shop. Replaced it with a substandard part (requested a certain model and got a entry level one). First ride which was a race after new derailleur was installed - cable came loose due to tech not tightening bolt down enough. Cost me precious minutes during race. Had to hobble a fix so I could ride bike.

Ended up ordering correct part, installing myself, and having no issues.

Long story short. Totally depends on who works on your bike. Give 3/5 stars since the first work done was professional and good. -2 stars for terrible service on a relatively simple replacement.

I live in Golden where there are 5 bike shops to choose from. Pedal Pushers is my first choice because they understand that bikes are more of a lifestyle than a mere hobby for some people. These guys are knowledgeable, friendly, and go the extra mile to get you back on your bike as quickly as possible.

The summer of 2009 I snapped my chain on a ride, Pedal Pushers was the closest shop. It was 10 minutes till closing, but I called anyway. Eric (the owner) said to come on down and have a beer while they fixed it. I've been coming ever since. I can't give enough praise to Eric and his crew! This is the best bike shop in town.

Amazing staff, killer mechanics, super knowledgeable.... can t go wrong with them! I bought a top line full suspension and they dialed it in. They took time to put pressure in the shocks and did a whole bunch of adjustments as I needed. Awesome service, will definitely go back for my next bike!

After being a bit raked over the coals by the big Box bike retailers, I decided to try these guys a few years ago. I drive 20 miles to get to them, and it's worth it for me for the customer service and expertise. Give them a try and you probably will feel the same.

The whole crew is amazing. Justin is a bike Ninja. He did major work on my bike and had me back on the trails in an hour. Can't thank them enough. I highly recommended. Usually bike shops on this level have attitude, not here.

Had a great experience with them. Even with one of the craziest seasons most bike shops have ever seen (thanks COVID) they took their time with me and were super helpful. Will definitely drive the extra 5min to get here next time my bike needs to be serviced...

The guy who appeared to be a manager or owner of the shop was incredibly rude and seemed to be on his high horse about everything bike related. Being very involved in the cycling community I feel embarrassed that he is the one who people getting into the sport have to deal with. Unless you have a $5,000 credit card limit you can t rent a bike from this shop as they put a hold of that amount on your card on top of the $150 demo fee. We were fully prepared to buy a bike today but are taking out business elsewhere as they didn t even explain this fee or try and make it right after we expressed frustration. I ve demoed many bikes from many shops and I ve never dealt with a situation like this. Disappointing. When we explained why we were taking our business elsewhere the manager/owner walked away and threw his hands in the air saying I m not going to deal with this so I am not going to deal with his business ever again. Take your business elsewhere. Great shop, great products and mechanics, but terrible customer service and completely embarrassing to all of cycling.

Great bike shop with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Pleasure dealing with them. You never feel like they are pressuring you into a sale. I bought a cross bike from them. One of the bottom bracket bearings felt rough. I brought it in and they quickly fixed it while I waited. Unfortunately this kind of shop is a rarity these day. Some shops closer to me carry the same brands, but Pedal Pushers is worth the extra drive.

I just love this place. Twice now I've taken my bike in broken. And twice they said - hold on we can fix this right now. They do a great job, they don't sell you anything you don't need, they offer great advice on keeping your bike in good shape. Fast, friendly, reasonably priced. And even better than all of that is their darling dogs who will allow you to throw a tennis ball and pet them while you try to give your information to the guys.

Excellent service without any pushy salesmen hovering the floor. Great quality work with exceptional speed. Pedal Pushers is the only place I try to take my bike because they did such a wonderful job!

Been there a handful of time in the past few years and usually leave with mixed feelings. The owner used to work at PUSH, so they are probably the only shop in town I'd trust for rebuilds, which is why I go there. They do push smaller/cheaper brands (DVO) which is nice rather than shaming you for not having all Fox Factory.

The only negatives I've had is they make it known they don't like direct to consumer brands...which is all I've ridden for years. Given that they make the bulk of their margin on services rather than new bikes...why complain about it?

Other than that, they are probably the only shop I'd trust to work on my bikes.

I needed some cutom mods to my Fox 36 fork with standard Fit Grip damper to improve small bump compliance. Eric and his team were able to to make damper side adjustments that made a substantial improvement in ride quality. My fork is now more plush and is way better than stock. Most local shops don't have the ability to make damper-side mods, so this was very convenient and much appreciated. Give them a try!

I don t usually submit reviews, but in the case of Pedal Pushers I didn t think I should keep my thoughts to myself. I have been to bike shops around the country and around the world. From New Zealand to Canada-Minnesota to Texas. Some of those bike shops were really cool! But I have to say that Pedal Pushers tops them all!!! I consider myself lucky to live in Golden and have such a fantastic bike shop in my backyard!

Here s some highlights:

-Staff (and owner) are SUPER friendly/helpful!!! Many bike shops you walk into you feel like an idiot and an outsider. Not at Pedal Pushers! They are pumped that you like to ride your bike-bottom line!

-The crew here is VERY knowledgeable! I have spent a lot of time trying to dial things in on various bikes. A quick trip to Pedal Pushers and my ride is DIALED IN to the point that not only am I having more fun on the trails, but I m riding faster and safer!!! Plus, these folks can figure out the complicated, but also don t look at you sideways if you just want them to take care of something silly and simple!

-Pedal Pushers takes pride in being part of not only the bike community, but also the Golden community. These folks screen movies, host community rides, provide race support and are active in the local school community!

-They have beer on tap (which adds to the community piece)!!!!

All said and done, in a small town that is saturated with bike shops, Pedal Pushers is tops! Drop by, have a beer and see for yourself!!!

Cheers,
Matty
