Not nearly as expensive as you'd expect, the Park Central hotel is a great place to stay when you're visiting the Big Apple. It's right in the center of all the major touristy places (if you're into that), and their rooms are super nice and clean. It's not like staying in a Disney hotel, but it'll definitely get the job done if you're in town for a few days.

I stayed here January 2018 and this is such an ideal location if you are looking to be around all of the events going on. The hotel is clean, they have nightly events at the hotel bar and it s up to date. The rooms are nice BUT they are VERY small. The view I had from my suite was of others in the hotel. Again: if you are looking to be around all the midtown events, then you will want to stay here. This photo attached was less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel!

I've been coming to NYC since 2007, and since the first time I choose Park Central Hotel, only one time I give Sheraton a chance, but it wasn't worth it, so it's my eight time on a yearly basis to stay at the Park, and it's been awesome as always, great service, great rooms, so I'll always be back!

Bad guest handling. Knowing that we walked through rain with our luggages, one front officer refused to check us in without even having proper eye contact, and asked us to join the other line to queue with rude gesture. While she keeps on checking her computer and then calling for other guest. Apparently white one.

The hotel is located in a good position, the receptionists are very helpful and rooms are beautiful and clean, maybe too much air conditioned! They provide a breakfast voucher for a hot drink, pastry and fruit. It takes a 10-minute walk to get to the lights of Time Square and if you want to go shopping, the 5th Avenue is very near. Renting a bike is a nice way to take a break and go through the close Central Park.

The hotel is well located close to Central Park and 5 minute walk from Times Square and all the midtown attractions. If you want to be close to the tourist attractions of midtown Manhattan and Central Park, this is a great spot for a good price.
My room was just OK. I had absolutely no view, which was bothersome given the picture showed a view. I found a couple hairs in the tub, other than that, the room was clean. The bed was comfortable.
There were several fees when I checked out which increased my cost more than expected. Overall it was an OK experience if I got a higher room I'd be happier but it was OK I guess.

From the minute we walked in the door we were disappointed. Front desk did not make eye contact at checkin and were not friendly. Elevator key worked hit and miss. TV didn't work and room was warm as AC didn't work well. Very disappointing. Worst hotel experience I've had in NYC. Not recommended.

Disappointed... First let me start by saying I booked this hotel through Groupon who did not disclose that the hotel will charge an extra fee ($41) on top of what we already paid for the room. So in actuality you are not getting a "deal".
For the hotel itself... We decided to try this hotel because of the location to the things we were in NYC for. The hotel when you walk in is very nice & in a decent location. The employees were nice, even though they failed to tell us that they had to validate our parking, so when we leave and get our car not only were we charged full price ($65) but more($70). The parking garage is several blocks away so if you have a lot of luggage I suggest you have someone wait at the hotel with it while you park. No Valet. As far as our room goes, it was ok. Basic hotel room without a working exhaust fan in the bathroom and hair in the shower. They charge a ridiculous facility fee that is not necessary if you are only there for a day or two, however if you want to stay there you're going to end up paying it. We've stayed in other nice hotels without all the extra charges that included parking... We will not make this mistake again.

Well situated Hotel but poor managed. I put two complains to the customer service while being there (email and SMS) and got not response. The staff at the counter is not friendly. I was charged facilities fees (Fitness Room,...) which I didn't use. In the check in, I got the wrong number for my room. We had to wait 20 minutes to get in the elevator and we tried several times to open the room, until a family had come out of the room with the embarrassing situation. I had to go back to reception where they told me they gave the wrong room number. There are too little number elevators, and we have to wait an average of 5 to 10 minutes to get to our room. There are not clear instructions in the lift that the card has to be introduced to operate. I have to explain this to several elder people which were really lost. The room is noisy as the windows have poor insulation. The good side are the cleaning staff, always with a smile and effective, I would suggest to ask the cleaning staff to coach the customer relation staff, they certainly would learn from them.

Met Alex, the bartender, he was super professional and the best part of our experience. We had light appetizers and two drinks. We enjoyed our time here and would definitely come back. We recommend the location if you're looking to stay close to Times Square.

I got a great deal on Groupon. The hotel is walking distance to Times Square and Central Park. It was clean and comfortable. I would love to stay there again. The only reason I did not give it a 5 was because there is no breakfast or resteraunt at the hotel. There is a bar and convenience store but I did not try either. Also, they provide big bottles of soap, shampoo, and conditioner which is great however I did not like the smell of them.

This is my first stay with park central and while I was very excited after seeing the hotel lobby, I must say I m pretty disappointed after checking into our room. The air conditioning doesn t work and the room temperature is stuck at 74 degrees no matter how low we set the control to. The bathroom shower curtain smells terrible like it hasn t been cleaned in years and needs to cleaned/replaced.

I was really looking forward to a romantic getaway since I was initially planning to propose to my gf in the room, possibly with some champagne and breakfast in bed. I had even called the hotel a couple of times in advance to let them know and was assured that we would be given a great room. I have since decided to propose outside the hotel but look forward to seeing if anything is done regarding my concerns. Will update shortly

Paid extra for a view and looked at the other part of the hotel. Housekeeping was terribly rude. Checkout is at 12, kept trying to come in and asking if we were done. $50 in hidden taxes and fees.

Amazing hotel!! We are currently staying here right now for 4 nights. We love New York, and this is our second time staying at this hotel. Great location, Comfy & clean rooms, and very nice lobby. Highly recommend staying here.

Location wise, perfect for our little trip. Conveniently located near Time Square within distance of an array of shops, eateries, and subway stations. The hotel itself is a little old with thin walls, no refrigerator or microwave available, but otherwise good on pricing and has parking options ($65 per day). We'd definitely stay again in the future.

Its pretty good!

Its pretty good!
Beautiful building and very nice rooms, but we were charged a lot of money for facility fees (pool, gym, etc.) and didn't use any of them (most tourists will want to be out on the town, not in the hotel).
Amazing location, right on 7th street in-between central park and time square.

Aweful. Room smelled pretty bad. On top of this the bathroom was not cleaned properly (stains on shower) There was no room service during our stay. We ended up leaving to go to another hotel instead because it was horrible and no one was willing to assists us because they were "very busy." I tried to forget about this but a few days later I realize I was charged for two nights. Tried to contact customer service but there is no phone number. Called reservations and asked to be transferred to customer service/billing about 5 times before I was put on hold only to get a machine. It's been 5 days and I have yet to hear back from them. I do not recommend it as it seems they are understaffed and disorganized.

For the price, this was a surprisingly good stay! The rooms appear to have been renovated in a not-so-distant past, and I was impressed housekeeping vacuumed every day. We had a king-sized bed and the room was spacious enough that one could walk comfortably around it and the lounging chair by the window. Location was convenient, just a block away from two subway stations, walking distance to the Met, Central Park, etc. We got 'breakfast' coupons, which could be exchanged at the cafe downstairs for coffee, muffin & fruit, which was just right for us. I'd definitely consider staying again and would recommend to others.

Great hotel and rooms are big for NYC. One thing that would make it better is if they sold toiletries in the marketplace - I would have bought a hairbrush but had to run a block to a Duane Reade (not far but I was short on time).

Second time staying here. Great location....close to Central Park, Times Square, Carnegie Hall, subway, everything! Very comfortable bed and pillows. Updated through out and very Clean. My only complaint was the hair dryer (air intake) was so clogged with lint it got super hot and actually burned my hair! It is important to check hair dryers before using. The concierge had a brand new hair dryer, still in the box, brought to my room when I showed him the clump of hair that burned off.

One of the worst hotels I have stayed in. I spend one night due to the fact I had to work in the city next morning. I was charged an additional $33 plus $50 according to the lady at the front desk when I checked out the $33 dollars was for facility and I'm waiting on the manager to call me back about the $50 dollars fee. And the room I stayed in was 723 it had cracks in the wall because the paint was so old. Horrible I wish I stayed at a better hotel

Like any major city hotel, the space is limited, and that is to be expected. However, I'm a big guy, and I did not have any trouble with the space provided.

The location of this hotel is probably one of the best in the City. They were right to include "Central" in their name, because it is literally central to everything. There is a subway station literally under the hotel (the maps do not show it well, but on our visit April 2019, there was an entrance to the NQRW trains just to your right outside of the hotel, on the Northwestern corner of 56th and 7th). There are an enormous amount of dining options of all ranges, plus you are right next to Broadway (figuratively and literally). Shows abound, just a few blocks and you'll be at whichever show of your choosing. Not to mention, Times Square is visible from the front door.

Our rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. However, breakfast was through a vendor in the lobby and coupons provided, which gave the choice of: coffee, tea, or bottled water or juice; and a pastry or muffin; and one piece of fruit. However, like I said, there are plenty of dining options if you don't mind shelling out for a hot breakfast (you're also just a few blocks from two Junior's locations... so there's that).

The staff was friendly and professional. The concierge actually even let us in on a few tips for great rooftop locations in Queens.

Either way, for the price, this place is wonderful. The location is pretty hard to beat (unless you're dying for park or river views), and the beds are comfy. This is New York. The whole point is to get out and explore. You'll sleep well here (whether you choose A/C or to crack the windows); and you'll be well on your way when you're ready to tackle the Big Apple.

Fantastic location! Both busses and the subway are super close with super easy access to grab Taxi s right outside.
The rooms are great, and the staff are so helpful!

Please note: There is (as of FEB 2020) some construction work going on outside the main entrance but there is no noise disruption from it and the access to the hotel is still very easy.

Very nice hotel. Rooms are what you need for a city break. No restaurant but the market shop in the lobby does nice pastries & coffee. Great breakfast choices nearby and very convenient for central park, times square and all the other pleasures NYC has to offer

We asked for valet service, and a view... didnt get either. What we DID get was a filthy room, broken elevators and room keys, and HORRIBLE attitudes from John (manager on duty), and pretty much everyone except the bartender (who agreed that the place has gone down)... HORRIBLE! Google reviews can be bought, this dump has 2 1/2 stars on Yelp... look it up!

A really central location for this hotel! Near Broadway, Central Park, Times Square, and more! We have a great corner room. The personnel have been great! No issues. We were nice at front desk and got our room promptly without any issues. The hotel has a wonderful 1920s vibe. Feel like I walked into the Great Gatsby! Just need tails and a lovely flapper to accompany me:) If I had seen the other 1 star reviews, I would have been hesitant. i heard other complaints about interior rooms from other guests. I think you need to pay for the corner room and just be pleasant with the staff. The city is loud, so u r going to hear it!
Additional: Saw this onslaught on Saturday night Overwhelming stream of guests. Popular choice. Also, you must request a shuttle to airport 24 hr in advance. Seems a bit silly.
Lost a star on resort fees. What resort? I hate that this practice is norm to show lower prices.

We enjoyed our stay here for three nights. The interior is a typical old NYC style. Bathroom could get better. The price was definitively appropriate for our room. Nice view and very good location!

Went to Park Central hotel for drinks at their bar. The location is great - close to the park and close to everything you could want. The building is quite old, so it has more of an old hotel feel than a new, hip place. The staff were nice and the drinks were fine. Nothing really blew me away, but I wasn't disappointed either. Good place to go if you're in the neighbourhood, though there are more exciting bars around.

Centrally located in Manhattan. Expensively priced when including the fees and 20% taxes. Room was minimally equipped and the windows are clear enabling you to see into your neighbor's rooms (and they into yours).

It is a pretty nice hotel. It is right next to times square, and a bunch if little stores. Rooms are nice and provide a decent amount of things, like tv, nightstand with lamp, dresser, etc. Service is a tad bit slow. It is a pretty average hotel, nothing to complain about.
