Most terrible experience I have ever had at a resort or hotel. At 1:00pm we paid to upgrade to a beach facing bungalow, we were told to pack our bags and leave them by the door and they would get us moved over. The only reason we paid to upgrade was to relax by the beach that day. Instead, after several phone calls..6:30pm rolls around and we finally get into our upgraded room. I had to demand that our upgrade fee be refunded as there would ve been no reason to upgrade had we known the sun would be going down by the time we got to our new room. The woman I spoke to was only willing to refund me half of the upgrade fee.

Shortly after, we find that our iPad had been broken, more appropriately SHATTERED, literal holes in the screen..by housekeeping. It has now been a week since the incident and the security department has notified us that they will not be refunding us any money or compensating for the iPad in any way. Apparently the housekeeper is claiming to have found it already broken. We refunded you for your upgrade fee before they said.

I work with people, as does the majority of the population.. you make it right. Always. But apparently Paradise Point has none of those values that we all take as common sense.

This place is disgusting, too bad I cannot upload the photos I just took. We just checked in and I found seven pieces of hair on the walls of the shower, when I touched the walls there was a layer of soap/ conditioner. The toilet was dirty, the base of the toilet was dirty with pubic hairs stuck to it. The floor had long hair balls. The walls throughout the room were dirty. The base boards filthy. Around the Doors and door knobs filthy. Like I said too bad I can't upload pictures. Also, this is supposed to be a "junior suite" it looks NOTHING like in their website pictures. DONT BE FOOLED BY THEIR PICTURES ON THEIR WEBSITE. We asked, for house keeping to come clean and they barely wiped anything down, even after I walked them through all the areas that are dirty, the worse thing is that when after they were done cleaning.I found the same hair ball I had originally showed them. Gross!

This resort was a lot of fun. The bungalow style rooms were different and you have to walk outside to go everywhere: lobby, restaurants, workout facility, gift shop. The pool and spa was relaxing, the beach was close by. I highly recommend renting the bikes they offer and riding along the boardwalk. We would stay here again.

My sister's and I stayed here for our annual sister trip. It was beautiful! We are planning a sister's and hubbies trip this spring and will be staying here. Staff was on top of everything and so nice and they never seemed rushed. They took the time to talk to us and even gave us some reccomenations of places to see, visit and dine. Looking forward to our spring trip!!

Only reason I'm giving 1 star is the place was super cool, but i had a terrible experience here. We had booked 2 rooms that were connected and when we got there we were so excited. one of our rooms had blood all over the sheets and the other one had a group of spiders in the tub. Seems like that room hadn't been used is multiple months because there were spider webs everywhere. we contacted the front office and we had our rooms moved. We got to some suites and one of the floors had crumbs all over them, there was moldy food in the fridge, and there were no sheets on the bed or the fold out couch. We had to cancel some of our plans because we had to stay there until they could resolve all of the issues. Read so many reviews about this place and was super excited to go, but turned out to be a terrible experience overall.

Nice grounds and rooms but the service was underwhelming. My husband waited 45 minutes to check in, I understand Labor Day is a busy weekend but the resort should be staffed accordingly. Second we stayed two nights and did not receive maid service or fresh towels in our room. Our room was super sandy from our beach day and it would have been nice to have it tidied up a little bit. For the price stay somewhere else.

This is not the place you want to be in the off season. The sheets were gross, covered in dirt, blood, and who knows what else. The replacements took over an hour to arrive, and everything else was terrible except for the food. I recommend the eggs Benedict.

This sums it up. Beach signs- don't go in water due to bacteria levels that will likely make you sick. I woke up with bug bites as well. All in all, as someone who could have stayed anywhere I'd pass on this place.

Positive note: discovered Mission and Pacific beach areas and had some great tacos. Ice cream in a donut. Bonus!

Renovated but nothing special.

Hard pass to come here again.

Beautiful location. Went to visit a couple friends staying there. Their room was right on the beach. The sand was soft and clean and the view was great. You could see the seaworld fireworks too.

Lumpy worn out mattress, throw pillows are not sleeping pillows. Customer service was nowhere to be found. Arrived during a rain storm no one to be found to greet arriving guests to point them in the right direction or help with checkin. Layout of the resort is a labyrinth at best, poorly lit and signed. Parking was designed for smart cars.
Grounds are beautiful but overall it s a time warp. For the cost of staying here deeply disappointed. Came for a conference and I won t even get started on how much the venue tries to gouge vendors on simple requests as a TV monitor, anything and everything you can be charged here.. you will be! I will not come back, attend a conference here or ever recommend anyone to stay here. Wish we had some of the 5 star experiences we read before coming for our stay.

Great location for social and business events. The staff is courteous and friendly. The views are great. Only drawback was the parking was not sufficient for the event and we did not have enough people to fill half the venue we were at.

The grounds are beautiful and enjoyable to walk around. You do pay a resort fee but then also have to pay extra for everything else as well which is unfortunate. Ex:bikes and mini-golf. Since its winter, the rooms in the area we stayed are currently all under major renovation. The renovations should help with some of the complaints I've heard about the place. The older rooms are still nice but not worth the premium prices.

Amazing customer service...I was hanging out at the pool (as part of the day use privileges from receiving spa services). Jamal, one of the employees, came in to give me fresh towels, check on how my day was going, and let me know about other services that I had access to. He even hung around a few minutes to chat. A warm addition to my day!

The resort is well kept and the grounds are extensive. Rooms are well priced. The staff were friendly. They try to hit you with $38 per night for parking on top of the room and resort fee. That was upsetting since there is no other parking

Spent last Christmas here, it was so fun and relaxing! The rooms are great. We got to paddle board and kayak which was a lot of fun! The restaurants were good and it was a great location!

Staff was friendly / helpful and the overall property was nice.

There are many nicer places to stay in San Diego.

My extended family just spent Friday through Monday at Paradise Point Resort in San Diego, CA.
We have been going there for at least 35 years. It has changed and grown, but in all good ways. It s a wonderful place for a short get away, or a longer relaxing vacation. It s terrific for a family gathering of any sort.
It s A 44 acre island with lots to do. There is a wonderful spa, lots of restaurants, with room service. Walking out of our bungalow, across a patio and wide expanse of grass, there was a lovely beach and then the bay. There were kayaks ands paddle boards, and small boats, pontoon boats and sailboats to rent. We brought our coolers of drinks and cereal and treats for snacks. We had milk so the kids could have quick snacks. There was a small frig, microwave and coffee-maker.
The pool is perfect. The shop is exactly what anyone could need.
The best thing was the staff. Every single person, from reservations to room service was lovely. Every single thing we could have needed was provided.
The wait staff at each venue was spectacular. The Barefoot Bar and Grill had wonderful food, the staff was exceptional.
We have stayed in five star hotels in Europe where there wasn t as much care. I noticed that the owners pay a living wage, which make the service a tiny bit more expensive. It sure makes a difference in the excellence of service, and well worth it.
The entertainment at the Barefoot Bar and Grill was great, and very Beachy. Fantastic.
I left with a feeling that I had just stayed at a wonderful family resort, where every person, every service was lovingly engaged.
Can t wait to go back.

I haven't even Stayed here yet and I am disappointed. I am not able to book my own room online, I receive a two night stay as a gift from The Ellen Show (Love you Ellen) when calling to try to book a reservation I am now being told that there are new Black out dates (ALL WEEKENDS) that is not printed on the certificate. the Certificate states. Subject to availability. The following blackout dates apply: May 13, May 23-24; July 22-23; December 1-5. - They have availability and are just deciding to not allow these certificates to be used on weekends.

The best place!such a nice getaway. Great food great views. Each room is pretty much separate. We never heard out neighbors. It's very private and reminds you much of a Hawaiian vacation. One of the best vacations we have been we will definitely be coming back.

Really nice place to stay, but a little over priced for drinks and food on site. Specifically I wouldn't recommend the mojito, the bartenders need to learn how to mix cocktails! Crushed ice and brown sugar cane are in a mojito, otherwise it's just a rum and soda with a mint garnish!

BEAUTIFUL PLACE!!!!!! Unfortunately the iron was broken the toilet paper holder was broken and the shower drain was clogged. The people behind us were so loud we couldn't enjoy sitting on our little patio area at night. We were looking forward to the peace and quiet of such a beautiful place but the extremely loud group ruined it for us.

The hotel grounds are beautiful. Our room was spacioua, quiet and clean. It was nice to be able to walk right to the beach from our room. The only negatives that we experienced were upon checkin our room was not ready even though it was an hour and a half past checkin time. The representative at the desk couldn't tell us how long it would be for our room to be ready which was very frustrating. Thankfully it only took another 20 minutes and they comped our parking fees. The other negatives were in our room the shower backed up and was super slow to drain and we saw a couple of spiders. All in all it was a good experience and I would recommend.

The place is fantastic. But I found it a bit disorganized, we got past checking in and the room was not ready yet ... and it was not just what we were expecting. There were many angry people waiting tired. I found the signage very bad. We went to the pool and there were no chairs to use ... being that many people used the chairs to put their bags and belongings. Nor was there enough sunshade. There was no option for breakfast. But they are things that happen ... I will think that way. We were staying on Sunday 08/08/2017 and we left on 08/08/2017. We did not find much fun at an absurd price for the restaurants and stay at the Hotel.

I won the room via a company Holiday Party. I read some negative reviews, but it was free so I couldn't complain. Well it was great! The guys in the golf cart drove us to our room and helped with the luggage, I didn't have any cash for a More

Nice hotel and conference venue. Very satisfied with cute one room houses accommodations, amenities, staff courtesy, nature, pool, jacuzzi, cute lakes, marina, beach areas, and indoor ambiance. The hotel is isolated from the city, so you might need a car/cab to get around. However, there are nice restaurants on site, so you can comfortably stay in and still get a wining/dining experience. I stayed twice at a very affordable conference rate and enjoyed my stay a lot. Thank you!

Amazing experience! Especially during these crazy times! My family wanted to get away for a couple days, but obviously we didn't want to go too far. It was an amazing experience. We booked a room with a bayside view. It was just perfect! We were able to watch our kids play on the sand sitting a couple feet from our room. We did the wave runners, kayak, and paddle boarding. We felt like we are in hawaii. And it was very clean! They were strict at the pools! Which is really a good thing. More than half of the pool chairs were gone and spread out due to social distancing. And there was a LIMIT on guests at the pool to ensure social distancing. We enjoyed the pool the 1st days, but unfortunately we couldn't get in 2 of the pools on the Saturday. They had someone at the gate to make sure it was overcrowded. It was a bummer, but I preferred that to make sure everyone was safe. But the great thing about this place was it was totally fine not going to the pool, because we spent the whole day at the bay. We already booked our next visit in 2 months.
It's weird to say.. but it's the perfect vacation during a pandemic.
