It is amazing such a nice place and kept up well!!!!
Beautiful weather great stay with our pets #baysidebungalow #sandiego
Came here for our 36th wedding anniversary. Beautiful grounds. Room was quite nice. Big I thought in comparison to other hotels. Only disappointments is the extra fees. There's a fee to park near your room, which you'd want to. Otherwise you would walk a long ways to free parking. I believe its 29.00 for that. Then another 30 a day fee for the use of all of the emenities they have to offer. Weight room, basketball, tennis, etc. Which we didn't use at all. We had a couples massage, that was 300.00 for both of us which is quite high. So even if you got a deal on the room, it can cost you quite a bit more depending how long you stay. We are staying 4 nights. We are still here. Oh there is a little frig in the room, but if you want a microwave, that's 20.00 a night. It's not in the room. Which most cheap hotels have that. Lol. Really it's not funny. But it is really beautiful here. But be prepared to spend more than you thought.
Beautiful place! I attended a wedding that was held here and it was absolutely gorgeous!
Looks even better than the pictures. Liyerally breath takingly beauyiful. Staff was not the friendliest. Some of them.were when we firat got there but once they found out that the reservatiin was in my friends sistrr name, they didnt let us go to our room until she arribed even though we had all of the documents proving that we could stay. We had to wait several hoirs for her sister to get there so we can finally go into the room. Relax and freshen uo after our 5 hour plane ride. I feel like it could have gone way better. We ended up killing time at the man made beach. It was our first time to California. We were tired after traveling from Michigan.
Great views! Our room had new tile. Staff was courteous and friendly. Great Hawaiian style village with San Diego views.
It's a beautiful property with nice views of the bay. The rooms are comfortable and well decorated. It's the perfect place to relax and not do anything. I wouldn't recommend any of the restaurants. You can always eat out or take it back to the room to eat. The staff is very friendly and the pools are nice. They do a great job keeping the grounds nice. The tennis courts and ping pong table being included was a perk!
Checking in was not a great experience. Kate at the front desk was extremely rude and short tempered. Our room wasn't ready, we requested a early check in when we booked the room but our room was not ready till almost 5pm. We had to pay $50 extra to park in the resort. They did let me use the pool while waiting but it would have been nice to have gone in our room and relaxed a little first. They pools here are beautiful, it's like it's own oasis. The pools have cozy fireplaces that are great for s'mores. One pool has a waterfall, one has a nice large grass area, they have a adults only pool, and the main pool. The adult only pool is nice it you want to relax without screaming kids or getting splashed. The main pool does have a bar and pool side service which is nice. They do have a few food options as well. The only negatives is it is sometimes dirty and it's pretty pricey. I do suggest adding a bar to the adult pool even if it's just a small one. Also think the main pool bar should be open later. The barefoot bar is excellent food, but the drinks are made very strong. It's great if you want rum but if you want to actually taste the drink you order. They didn't allow a roll away bed for my kids because we had a double queen bed. The floors are all hard tile. The bikes and rentals are overpriced but the pedi bikes are fun. In the future I think I will just stay elsewhere and get the day pass the spa offers.
Staff was extremely rude, misleading, and disingenuous on the phone. They even hung up on me. I would recommend avoiding this place. There are plenty of places that have good customer service.
This was an absolutely great way to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.
This has been a lovely visit to this resort..front lady was very courteous and upgraded our room to the beach side of resort..rooms are clean..the bon fire pits were great and the pools were well maintained..enjoyed the visit..loved it
Very nice and pretty place, staff was helpful and nice
We visited over New Year's and it was pretty chilly so we weren't able to take full advantage of the resort offerings, but the location was great. Fireworks went on into the early am and kept the in laws baby awake, but we had a great time walking the beach back to our room and chatting with all the people celebrating with campfires.
Very nice, New rooms. Great resort area and quality restaurants
Beautiful place, nice and friendly staff and even was upgraded to a beach bungalow at no extra charge for one night!!! We stay for 5 days once a month and will continue to do so, highly recommend this spot!!!
A quiet beach resort escape, in the city! Local, fresh and organic food choices. Large outdoor pool.
The resort is really nice and you feel like you are in a different place.
There are many opportunities to do something there, be it the beach or rent a boat, jet ski or surfboard. However, the prices are relatively expensive. We paid over $ 100 an hour for a jet ski.
It's clean there. The furniture is out of date and a bit broken. As you know it from America, a lot is super nice on the outside, but if you look a little closer it is done rather half-heartedly.
For breakfast I would have oatmeal. Unfortunately this tasted like nothing without sugar. The food prices are unfortunately very high. An oatmeal $ 9 and a todt with avocado $ 12. For real food you pay well over $ 30.
But there are very good restaurants in the area.
Each cabin has its own parking space, which is great. But it also costs extra.
The pool area is clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, there are small creatures swimming around on the beach that bite you. We couldn't find out what it is.
All in all a nice resort, but not reasonably priced.
Everyone was nice and we enjoyed our stayed. The only downside is housekeeping is terrible. The floors were dirty and the rug was gross.
FANTASTIC RESORT! I recently stayed here with my fiance and I cant say enough good things about this place. The rooms were large and clean with flat screen TV's and small kitchen area. I'm not sure why other reviews said they were outdated...I think people need to research what they are looking for. This is a resort style private bungalow. It's meant to have a laid back tropical feel, its not the same modern feel as the Loews or the Hilton. The customer service was exceptional. The private beach feels very exclusive and they have fire pits that you can use at night right on the beach to make smores. Tidal restaurant had a great menu and cocktails and the view was phenomenal!! Very romantic. It felt like a tropical island, their is always something to do and it is very close to downtown if you want to explore San Diego.
Shout out the manager Anderson Cooper- you can tell he really values customer service and the upkeep of the property. Thank you for making our weekend together before my fiance deployed so special! WE WILL DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK HERE!!
A nice experience but staff is slightly unfriendly from US standards not a good value for money... they did not even had a travel adapter... and no shops nearby as it is on island... very posh from outside but hollow within
I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. Gorgeous and lush greens, almost surrounded by the Pacific. A beautiful Oasis with luxurious accommodations means pure Bliss. Thank you for a very needed stress free vacation.
Very disappointed with the resort. We spent about $2000 for a weekend stay and it just wasn't worth it. The room was nice, but was missing pillows for the pull out bed. We had to call down to get some and it took over two and a half hours to get them. We had to call down 3 times before they brought them down to us at 11:00pm. By then our kids were exhausted.
The pools were nice and kid friendly, but were overcrowded and all of the spas were closed.
We weren't allowed to call in for any food orders. To get any food on the resort, we had to wait in long lines that sometimes took over 45 minutes just to place the order. From there it was another 30-45 minutes to get the food. It was very frustrating to spend several hours just trying to get food across the whole weekend.
Maybe the issues we had were all due to COVID and maybe these aren't a problem during normal operations, but we're definitely not going to stay at this resort again.
This place is just amazing! It is beautiful and the pools are warm. There is no free breakfast and the food prices are a little high but it is worth the money. If you have the chance I would recommend a beach side room. There are also fire pits on the beach witch are great for smores.
You smell gasoline at the beach, it is too commercialized
We spent $2800 in our 2 night stay at the presidential suite.
We have been to a number of five star hotels all over America. This service was one of the worse! They didn t help us with our bags to our room, they never clean the rooms, they gave us misinformation and charged our debit card prematurely when we wanted to pay cash. We called and asked about the situation then the receptionist whose name is Jai began to yell over us while we were trying to describe the situation. We came to a resort to relax not to stress. The manager was even worse. Instead of Diana C being sympathetic and understanding she instead began to argue with us. We asked for the receptionist names of the people that helped us and she refused to give us their names!? We spent $2800 for 2 nights you would think they would treat you with 5 star customer service. At least offer a compensation of some sort, but they didn t. We eventually just checked out early because we couldn t stand the service. There are so many better hotels around San Diego. This one was horrendous and instead of us being happier then when we came we are angrier and more stressed then when we first came. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND I WONT BE BACK!
Had a wonderful experience at Paradise Point Resort! I was there for four nights for a business conference. The entire staff was so friendly! Even had a waiter run a personal errand for me since I wasn't familiar with the area! Extremely clean room! Would highly recommend staying here!!
We had a great stay. Lovely view, great location, friendly staff, nice and large rooms. You can eat at the Resort as well, though we didnt try it. Would love to go here again.
Great place very romantic for you and your spouse.... Excellent View
Thumbs up. Good location for a getaway. Lots of amenities. Don't expect it to be too classy. It's a beautiful, older resort.
This place is pretty nice. Great place to relax and decompress. Fairly quiet, but lots of activities to do or just relax by the pool if you choose to do so. They have a sweet boat + jet ski rental place on the premises. The rooms themselves are well kept and homey. I believe they did a renovation recently and it came out very well!
Clean, close to all things San Diego, no stress, no mess.
Beautiful property! Gorgeous views! Expensive everything else, including dining options, drinks, parking, activities and market goods. Could be really fun with more options.
We were here last week for a convention. The staff was amazing and everything turned out fabulous.
Rooms are great, mini fridge, TV speakers are eh. The room has a little patio that there's a little pond at and all the bungalows are circled around each pond.
5 pools but only one is good for swimming for adults.
Decent place, but amazing scenery. SeaWorld fireworks right overhead
FAR FROM PARADISE!!! 0 STARS!! What a waste of money. Paid extra to stay on the water. Beautiful view.... but I could have parked in the public parking lot 10 ft. from our bungalow, where the young kids drank and smoked whacky tabacky at nite, and checked the view from there. Place was small with a dirty little fridge and BONG GLASS under the couch. I always check what s on the floor with a 2 year old and found chunks of bong glass right under edge of couch. Then was immediately greeted by ANTS...... in the kitchen EVERYDAY, EVERYWHERE..... I could not deal with!!! When we complained.... they sent some guy to spray chemicals with a mask, gloves and we gotta leave the room for awhile. I passed!! I have a 2 and 3 year old in the room. dummies. So everyday, every meal, every crumb had to be cleaned, swept before we left and still came back to ants. I couldn t leave anything anywhere. I even have some pics I will add. Room service first night there....waited almost 2 hours with hungry kids for cold food and soggy fries. Still trying to make the best of it.... we head to pool first day there. Hahahah. What a joke!!! Not one chair. When I say .... not one chair! I mean.... not one chair!!! I even asked people that had 10 that weren t being used but they wouldn t give them up. People literally leave a book, sunscreen, sunglasses and save a chair ALL DAY. Leaves on the chairs but staff does nothing. Set up some guidelines! Gimme a break. I m sitting in the ground!! Yes! 5000$ and I m on the ground. Kids wanted pizza..... don t open till 5. Went over around 5:30. Guy says it s gonna be at least 1:30 hours for a pizza. What?!!! The lady next to me says ..... she came from her room because she ordered a pizza 2 hours ago. Ha! Thank God!!! Some local joint delivered right to the pool. Bought 2 rafts from the store , that had nothing but souvenirs, for 25$ and someone stole them from our place. Hahaha. Place is a JOKE!! tried to speak with a manager about 5 times but they were always with a customer and returned my call 1 time at 7pm when I was bathing my kids. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! The only thing we enjoyed.... Tidal!! Bomb food! Bomb service! Cool people! Clean! Oh yea.... pool water so cloudy in main pool. It s gross! Hope you enjoyed my rant! I m done now!
Gabby in the pool area was Awesome! She was attentive, friendly, very professional. She was quick to get us our food, and drinks. I wish all the places we go to had a Gabby.
You would never have to leave the island your entire stay here and have everything you needed. The rooms that open onto the beach are very nice. All the pool areas should have fire pits. Tons of birds on site to relax and watch. Barefoot grill is a great and affordable restaurant with nice views of the water. Some of the bungalows are hard to find and a lot of guests seemed to think it a good idea to speed down the narrow roads even though there is a ton of pedestrian activity.
I booked a room through booking.com and was falsely sold a standard queen with no beach view. I went up to the office to display my concerns and let me tell you. JAI was amazing she did everything she could to make my stay worth the money I spent. She saved my vacation!!!!
Really nice place! Friendly staff. Pretty awesome overall
I really enjoyed time with my entire family. Family friendly and great places to eat and socialize.... beautiful atmosphere
What a disappointment. Nothing like the name. Outdated place with a bad renovation on the bathroom, cracked concrete and old mulch scattered everywher, a bad lingering oder and a ventilation system that sounded like a helicopter, small pools, not enough sings for direction... Now, these are some negative things that were visable. There are some hidden charges that will surprise you which will add to your dissatisfaction. The most shocking one was a $35 per night for parking fee, which is ridiculous. We didn't know anything about that parking fee and some other hidden charges until the check in and the check out time. If it wasn't for the pool and a boat rental place I don't know what we would've done. We spent all of our times and I mean all the time in the pool aria and on the rental boat.
Value for money for the hotel 0!
Arrived in the room, cake crumbs on the bed and toothpaste on the bathroom cabinet. The hotel alarm clock goes off at 6am ... The housekeepers forgot to clean our room twice, over 6 nights that is a lot ... and the way it is done is very basic. In addition the staff not at all understanding.
For the price he is asking this is unacceptable!
Parking is chargeable, $ 30 a day, with what they already charge for the night, it could finally be understood.
The hotel restaurants are expensive and bad ...
Otherwise the positive points: the rooms are large and spacious and the area very nice. You can admire great sunset there!
Do not stay here! The rooms have mold and you will get legionella pneumonia!
My parents stayed here over Christmas. There was mold in the room and because they were running the room heater, they inhaled the spores from the mold and my father developed legionella pneumonia. He was in the hospital for days.
Not worth the money. The staff was nice. The rooms need a lot of upgrading and the food on property is extremely expensive.
My husband and I just celebrated our 15 yr anniversary this week here. The entire experience was great.Wonderful customer service.Everyone was pleasant and very helpful.I would definitely consider coming back in the near future.Very romantic atmosphere!!!
Nice location with high rates. One time experience.
Lovely location, good set up of bungalows with nice amenities and number of pools. The room was super clean with comfy bed and a kettle. Food was great and the staff very nice. Just their bikes for rent were terrible - rusty and squekky.
It was very nice, and new. The pool was perfect. We liked the food more than everything.
Overall not a good experience. The "beach" has signs that say do not swim, the whole place gives off a trailer park type vibe with employees speeding around on golf carts. They also do not listen to feedback and complaints while staying there, and only reach out once you've let it known you are not ever coming back.
Being from Florida, my family and I have frequented Disney Resorts. We are used to inflated resort prices, but we're also used to getting what we pay for. If you choose to stay at Paradise Point, make no mistake, you're paying for the view. My wife and I went there for our honeymoon and purchased a Bayside Junior Suite. We could tell that the interior had been recently updated, but the exterior is extremely dated. The best part was that our back patio opened up onto the beach. Our patio had two adirondack chairs and the beach had several fire pits. However, our patio furniture was taken nearly every night and left by a fire pit and the beach was littered with cans, bottles, and cigarette butts. The roads around the resort are narrow and are supposedly one-way, but there is no signage warning people about this. It is only designated by lightly grey shaded arrows on the paper map given to you at check-in. I'm sure that the spa is nice, but I'll never know because their prices are exorbitant! My wife and I went to Massage Envy instead.
The pros of this resort are the view and it's proximity to Old Town, Sea World, Ocean Beach, and many other great things San Diego has to offer. The cons are dirty beaches, $34 per car per night for parking!, $24 per room per night for terrible wifi, and menial service that does not warrant their high prices.
This place is amazing! We had a room right along the bay with beautiful sunsets. Pet Friendly! Our dog absolutely loved running up and down the beach chasing birds. The staff is incredibly kind and friendly. We will be back for sure!
Very nice grounds. Perfect for your next conference or company retreat.
Had brunch on Mother's day at Tidal Restaurant. Great service, food, and view.
Super cute. Literally Paradise. There's even this tower thing you can climb and get a new perspective. Barefoot bar and grill is super chill.
Local guy here in San Diego and this place is my go to spot when doing a "staycation". Everything from great food, to water sports, to a spa...Paradise Point does not disappoint.
Came for work. Not a place I would come to normally; overpriced manufactured island. Room wasn't ready when i arrived at 5. They sent me the bar with a $25 credit. Toliet in room didn't work. Walls dirty. Just ok.
Very beautiful place with extremely courteous staff!
This place is rundown and not a good place to visit during this pandemic. The Davidson management company is probably the worst company to work for. Not only do they overwork their couple employees they have now but if anyone speaks out of term they outsource the department or let go. Currently they are running almost at 100% capacity during a pandemic! Why? Because all they want is to maximize revenue. They do not care about their employees or guests. If you don't mind a room with pests, no services and hundreds of people with no enforcement of covid restrictions please enjoy your stay. I'm tired of hearing employees struggling with unnecessary bs and complaints here.
They charge me an additional 35 usd for parking, fitness center, pools, and courts. It's unbelievable that that's not included in the expensive cost for rooms. I don't like these hidden expenses and would not come back.
I was for an event which I was part of. Required working with the event staff of the Resort. I was treated as a quest and as a team member by the Event Coordinator n Planners. I was highly impressed how the entire Staff of the Resort enacted with the Guests n each other. The Resort is Beautiful n a True Paradise.
Extremely scenic, lots of options for food & drink, bungalows are nice and private. Top notch service too.
My family and I have been out here the past two years my kids call it HOME!!! Great environment staff is very helpful.
Second time there. First was with family for a few days, and we all loved it. This time just a quick overnight stay for a meeting onsite. Just beautiful. Like a little slice of Polynesi. And very affordable. don't miss breakfast at he Barefoot Bar.
Beautiful tropical resort. Great for families. Avoid the weekends.
But be aware that they don't respect covid-19 protocols. No everyone wears mask, they don't check temperature (only to taxi drivers) and they don't keep the distance between tables and many big groups for dinner. If you wanna rent a bike or a boat try outside the resort they are 1/3 of the price. Food at Tidal was top.. food a bare foot is average American low quality.
I had much bigger expectations, I was surprised at the condition of the rooms considering the amount they charge per night
It was alright but the restaurant had worst service ever. They didn't even give us waters as we waited for a very long time. They didn't acknowledge us and we just went to in n out instead. Hotel was a bit odd since the rooms were in bungalows and to get from room to room you had to be outside on the street which could be a potential hazard for small children.
Pros - Good location, beautiful property and stuff for kids to do.
Cons- There was no chair in the room to sit or work. First time I stayed in a room with no chair. Second, the room booking said we have two queen beds - but the beds were very small..more like full size. And lastly there is a $32 per day "leisure" fee which is added to the bill on top of the $38 a day for parking.
Overall this is a beautiful place to stay. The service is nice and there are nice amenities. I gave it four stars instead of five because it is kind of expensive and they charged me a lot of extra money for a crappy fold up bed. Also, the restaurants on site are very good but can be very expensive. If you're there gor a few days without a car then plan to spend a lot for your meals.
Too many bugs. Cleaning staff took to long to clean room
Some of the bungalows are a long walk from the lobby. Phone didn't work. Have to insert your key card to have electricity. Have never seen this in the US before. Only in foreign countries. Food is good and location is noce.
Extremely hard to navigate at night there's no signs in the parking lot that say exit
Pools and rooms are awesome! Pool service isn't very good for drinks and food. If you want in room service you need the Alice App to order but plan on an hour or more.
Very clean, beautiful landscaping, professional staff. Many options for recreation
Nice rooms but you can always hear the neighbors...
Incredibly friendly staff, everyone we talked to was so helpful and nice. Everything on campus is (as you might expect) super expensive, from food to basics at their island market. We didn't drive, but I thought it was kind of ridiculous that they charge you to park your car overnight even though rooms have reserved spaces that no one else will use if you don't. Other than that, the entire area is beautiful and our room was pretty nice despite our back door facing a busy road.
Nice staff. Great facilities. Great view of the water.
Overall we had an OK experience at this resort. He had flight issues and called to notify the hotel twice of the delay in arrival but our room was still given away. To make up for the mistake our room was upgraded and we were told that a credit would be applied but come checkout time apparently that wasn't the case.
Other people in our party had issues with their tv not working and mildew in their room. The property is surrounded by gorgeous views and has multiple firepits on the beach for guests to use.
I always enjoy the Spa at Paradise Point, a beautiful spa sanctuary in an island oasis. Massage services are consistently excellent. The Blissful Stone Massage and the Paradise Hot Stone Pedicure are my favorites. There's only one spa faux pas/flaw that needs to be corrected! The relaxation room is right next door to the fitness room. #noise
Attended a friends Birthday party at one of the bungalows on the beach. Very nice looking room. There is quite a walk from the free parking area to the party however a couple of the valet attendants were very nice and gave us a ride on the golf cart. Looks like a nice place for a getaway. Several pools around the resort and beautiful landscaping and scenery.
