Reservation management Staff is less than helpful for people who have extended stays here, regardless of how much money is being spent. Once again, a company who is too big and doesn t have any human aspect to it because the tourists reservations never stop so they don t care who is satisfied. It s a shame because we like this place so much. Food is mediocre at best, grounds are dirty, security is awful (especially by the parking lot at the cove units). Last stay here. Maybe just crash the pool like everyone else!
My colleague and I had the most relaxing stay and funnest experience at this resort. We came to a workshop for business to learn from Peniche & associates and the front desk concierge ROBERTO was absolutely the best! Thank you. He checked us in in a promptly manner and made sure to accommodate any of our requests. We will come back again to visit.
Paradise Point Resort is a Resort! Unbelievably beautiful and lots of amenities! Our room opens up to a beautiful Lani with a huge lawn facing the water. This is a high end property that is definitely a destination in and of itself! Many pools and restaurants it sits on what amounts to a private island. Sailboats, paddle boards and jet skis can be had at it's own private marina. We will be coming back for years to come.
Great time, beautiful location and excellent service!
Great place to stay! Super quiet with lots to do. Great food!
Loved the pool, the restaurants, and the activities! It felt like we had our own private beach. The rooms need some renovations. For example, the bed was uncomfortable (felt the springs) and squeaked everytime I moved. Overall, we had a great stay!
The rooms are okay. From the perspective of having small children the high beds combined with the ceramic tile make for a potential nightmare, but that is very personal. I did like the little bungalow setup. The pools are nice, staff are warm and it is mostly clean. We stayed in a remodeled room, which you could still see the dilapidation through the new paint and tile. I would imagine that the non-remodeled rooms would have gotten a 2 star or possibly a walk-out but that's just my speculation based on the bathroom of the remodeled room. It does seem quite expensive for the size of the rooms and we didn't really use the personal beach, but I could see how others would really like this hotel for that reason.
They definitely need some outdoor showers or something because the tile makes every grain of sand noticeable so the room was filthy after one trip to the beach. The coffee bar was GROSS. Worst $4 cup of coffee ever. But Barefoot was great for breakfast. Overall, I think the four star review is well fitting.
New interiors are tastefully done and give the property a well deserved look and feel. The staff is pleasant and professional but not very attentive. Requested a room in a certain location near beach where we were hosting a beach party. Our room was in opposite end from where we were. The property is sprawling so we were unable to use the room as intended. Really disappointed they couldn't be more accommodating and they were late assigning our room that we couldn't use until 6pm and were out before 11 AM the next day. We were clipped for their $35 resort fee, but didn't have time to use any of the facilities. Also, they parking fees are a scam. They charge $38 per night per car to occupy the space in front of the room. Lastly, we ordered 5 pizzas from their Caveman Pizza restaurant on the premises thinking it would be a quicker option than ordering from one of the dozen pizza joints in the area. It took them an hour and half to make the pizzas and they were average at best.
This place is good overall and a peaceful resort to stay.
It has some lovely areas however needs some updating. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Did not want to change my stained sheets, but acted like they did even though the stain was still there.
Didn't stay overnight, but this place is beautiful. Also didn't really have any experience with staff. Parking is adequate and views are amazing.
Went as entertainment for a holiday party. Food served was good and the set-up of the room was decent.
We attended a wedding in Paradise Point Resort and Spa yesterday, October 31. We loved the ambience, location, and the food.
My boyfriend surprised me with a romantic overnight stay at Paradise Point. Totally enjoyed walking on the beach and the fire pit at night at the pool area.
The cafe has sharks in the pond next to it. Your kids will love it. Reasonable pricing.
The property itself is very nice. The rooms, although remodeled, need quite a bit of work. Light switches that dont work, tables off balance, bathroom fixtures falling off, toilet not secure. Our first room did not have even a small table next to the only chair in the room. Had to place my glass on the floor. Moved to a larger suite that was nice but still many issues including poor to no wifi signal at the front of the suite, where the table is. If it weren't for the view and being on the beach I wouldn't stay here again. Over priced in my opinion.
Beautiful area very well staffed resort. Great private beaches on the coast of California.
Greatest! Just wish they hadn t raised their prices so high.
Came here for CBD Expo, very nice resort and facilities. Could use some better signage however!
Got a room right on the bayside. Beach is literally right in front. Didn't expect that. Friendly staff clean rooms not bad. Would recommend.
Room Assessment:
The room had a weird moist smell but was easy to get used to. The shower was old and had mold and paint peeling. Sand on the bed! The room floor is extremely dirty, The room is getting older, rips and stains in furniture outdated kitchenette, overall in need of a renovation
Service and Reservation Assessment:
The initial reservation took way too long when attempted to switch room types. Then the lady that was on the phone with me told me that I would have a double queen bed bayside bungalow suite but instead when I arrived I had a king bed! Even though the confirmation email had 2 queen beds when I asked the front desk a different person said otherwise and informed me that bayside bungalow rooms do not come w/ 2 queen beds (someone is lying) the reservation system is outdated and takes way too long but the food service was exceptional! The pizza place was very long but I was helped by a server from the connected Bar and Grill and was served food quickly. The chef stayed very positive when a guest was questioning the authenticity of the calamari dish and even offered to refund the dish, I feel that the food division is good but hiring more chefs to cook would speed up the 1-2 hr room service and pizza wait! Improvement in staff communication and efficiency would help. Very minor issues like no binder in the room was easily solved by helpful staff members. When I forgot my macbook pro charger I called instant service and the person went looking for a charger and even went through security to see if anyone had forgotten one so I could use it. The front desk staff seem to be trained to handle problems and quickly assist the guests, well I think they could do it faster because when I needed an extra blanket it took them 45 minutes! Well if you like clean rooms I suggest you read this before you stay here;
House Keeping:
The house keepers did a POOR JOB!! The toilets were and stayed disgusting, they moved around furniture and didn t put it back, they barely spent any time cleaning the bathroom area (you can OBVIOUSLY tell) and they didn t do simple things that inn, motel, and branded hotel housekeepers always do; putting away the ironing board organizing left out toiletries and they never replaced the tissues! This department head and training adviser is not very good! Someone who knows how to train these housekeepers w/ some hotel experience should replace the division head because it is OBVIOUS this department is lacking which is the cause of the unclean rooms and faster deterioration of the rooms! The goal of housekeepers are to make the guest room cleaner, they DON T DO THAT!!!!! No wonder the floor is so dirty they don t even clean it! Overall the hotel is getting old and the under trained staff are neglecting this and their guests! The reservation system has faults, EXTREMELY SLOW room service and very boring menus, great beach but my room was a few yards from public bathrooms and the PUBLIC BEACH entrance, yes their "1 mile long of private beach" is a public beach where ANYONE can use the amenities.
NOTE TO MANAGEMENT:
I suggest you fire the housekeeping division head and begin retraining them on how to PROPERLY clean a room. This is the cause of this hotel getting older which means a room renovation is needed. Redesigning the rooms so that each Room "village" is unique to the name and making the signs clearer and less confusing will bring back guests and ensure they won't get lost. The prices are way to expensive! The website reservation system is terrible and when I called it was very obvious that the front desk agent was having trouble with this system too. Fix these problems and the hotel would definitely improve. Go to the Moon Palace in Cancun and stay there for a few nights and see how they run this humongous resort.
We had the bay view when we stayed. Came with a full walk-in closet. Our own parking spot! Lot's of cool photo opportunities. Filled with a good mix of 20s-50s age group. Great place for singles, and couples. Live music, and atmosphere was terrrifc here. I would definitely return here again. Compared to other places this location wasn't focused on mainly events or retirement communities. You really get the feeling you are at a resort here.
Laid back Resort good for Families & Couples.
Nicely kept rooms.
Very clean place to visit
Great Views! & good food.
Amazing service, meeting space and wonderfully appointed new rooms.
With so many places to see and do in San Diego, it really says something that I wouldn't have minded staying put here the whole time. This place is beautiful. Every day was a new discovery. From a sunset look out tower, to the pools, ponds and beach. They've really put a lot into their name, paradise is exactly how I would describe it. The staff was on top of things and very friendly. Overall this was a great experience for my family and I and we hope to be back.
very good place and good place to have relax with all facilities.
Nice resort on a size-able private island right on Mission bay. The property is huge - the rooms are all spread out into 'bangalows' and are spacious. The grounds are very green and tropical and many of the rooms are right on the beach (lined with with fire pits).
This resort specializes in conferences and large group events - they are setup for that with a lot of conference space. Team building activities and catered food (which was all very good!).
The lobby, catering and the transportation staff were all friendly and helpful. You can easily get lost here - the the property is huge and the directions are not that great. However they provide golf cart transportation anytime anywhere in the resort (we used it at 3 in the morning - one call and someone showed up with a cart to drop up from one room to the other). Recommend getting and keeping a map at all times.
Otherwise the grounds are beautiful to stroll through, lots of ponds with birds, a 'roost' tower to get a birds eye view or just walk on the beach (or swim in) Mission bay. There is also a gift store on property with plenty of stuff to buy. It's very close to Sea World as well.
This place is a little piece of heaven. My husband and I visited this past weekend for our 10-year Anniversary and let me tell you we enjoyed every moment. We didn't get to experience the whole resort because we were so content with sitting on the porch and relaxing in our room. We did have an incident where someone threw our chair in the pond, but the staff acted quickly and came and sanitized our chairs. We already starting to plan our next trip back next time with our huge extended family.
Location is awesome! Parking fee is extra $38 per night and extra resort fee as well.
This resort was absolutely awesome....with emphasis on the awe...lol. we had a great stay. The resort price was right for the amenities available. We had 5 in our party and locals came to visit. We all had a great time and plan to make this stop an Annual vacation =)
Always clean and quiet!!! Visit a few times a year, we are locals. Definitely recommend
Loved it here! If you cant afford Hawaii, Paradise Point is the next best thing!
The rooms are remodeled and nice. The staff was great. The grounds were ok. Not many of the rooms seem to have much of a view. My room just looked over a small pond into other people s rooms. I also expected a bath robe in the closet, but there was not. There are five pools, but four of them are tiny. The main pool is decent size. It is a good place to stay for a weekend, but for a whole week seems a bit much. There is a place to rent sailboats, jet skis, motor boats, paddle boards, etc right on the property. You get driven around in a cart which is fun for the kids. Staying again next week for work, so maybe I will have a different opinion by that room. :)
Attended a wonderful wedding here. Services were alright, wanted more reliable shuttle service.
Stayed with friends who were from out of town.
The pools are really nice, the employees are very nice. I did not like how dark the main pool was at night, seemed a lil dangerous. I also did not like the male custodian coming into the women's bathroom to clean it while I was changing another woman taking a shower and another in the restroom. I told the man there were several women in there and he just grunted at me. I reported him to the female bartender who got right on it.
Really great place to stay for families! Rooms are clean and newly updated; friendly staff; beautiful grounds; and lots of great amenities. The resort has 5 pools, bike rentals, boat/SUP rentals, private beach cove, lots of fire pits for beach smores... so much to do. We d love to come back when visiting San Diego. Food prices are very high and food is so-so but to be expected at a hotel. All in all, we had such a fantastic time with the kids. Highly recommend!
Was recently at this resort for 4 nights as part of a conference. The room was nice and the staff was overall was very friendly (some were outstanding). I can see this being a very popular resort for families as there are a number of pools, activities, beaches, etc to explore. The largest negative that I have for this resort is that on my last night I came down with food poisoning after having eaten at the hotel restaurant, Tidal. I did inform the hotel as soon as I was certain that this was not something mild (symptoms came on about 45 minutes after dinner and I was sick like clockwork every 20 mins for about 6 hours). They said that a manager would be reaching out to me but it has been 4 days and I have not received any communication (I called them yesterday but no-one was available to talk with me). At this point, I paid almost $100 for a meal that made me sick and it generally cast a shadow over the whole experience. If I return to San Diego, I don't think I would choose to come back.
Great hotel with sooo much space! Will definitely be back.
It's very own little slice of heaven. Hid away from the rest of the world on it's very own island with plenty to do for everyone. Sits right on the beach and is super close to Sea World. Remoldeled rooms and they are gorgeous. Great restaraunts and room service. Happy, kind, pleasent staffers with loads of golf carts to get you around if you tire of walking. Keurig in room coffee. Loved it!!
Nice hotel with everything you need, but not really stylish.
Great location, great grounds, rooms clean and roomy, great toiletries, management in tune to customer needs
Great location but the room are not that amazing. I think the price they charge per night is way too much plus all the resort fees and parking fees added per night
I have been to many resorts, alot are more expensive than this one. This resort feels more comfortable than those resorts though.
It was fun. Nice weather, enough to do. Food on resort is pricey
Came here for a large APIC conference. Stayed 4 nights. I think I have PTSD from my stay. Lobby smelled musty, Room smelled worse. Hair and old toothpaste in my sink which was cracked and would back up. They put the half used bottle of lotion from the previous guest back in the fancy folded washcloth. Shower curtain was ripped and tile and tub dirty. Curtains falling down and areas of mold and something that looked like a vomit splatter. Sofa was filthy. Closet door track full of dirt and grime. I spilled some water on the bedroom floor and wiped it up with a hand towel, OMG it was black, bathroom floor just as black. I could go on and on. Everyday I asked them to clean it. They never did. Mattress was so old and very uncomfortable. Air conditioning unit was so noisy I had to turn it off at night to sleep. Staff was very friendly but never offered to move me. I wanted to leave and stay somewhere else but then I would have had to pay for a taxi ride to the conference everyday. Don't be fooled by the good reviews. I have a friend in the hotel business. She says they write their own good reviews to counter the bad. I don't know how they can say they are a 4 star resort. I hope the rest of the nurses that had the same issues will write a review. Shame on this property owner.
A beautiful place for a conference and to stay by the bay. Loved it!
The cost of parking is $38 per day the rooms are clean and comfortable.
An excellent location to access Seaworld, Airport, Beach Cities and downtown San Diego etc.
Good times, really nice place to stay, even on a staycation
Feels like you're on a tropical island. Can't beat it.
Quiet place, was under construction this visit. Otherwise I would give 5 stars.
Spent our 33rd Wedding Anniversary there. The Staff was Wonderful the Suites were Great. Want to Thank Claudia for her Wonderful Service. Got up graded to a Wonderful Suite it was the Best. My wife and I will be spending many more nights at this Great Resort. Food was Fabulous. I could go on & on just try if you will Love it. Thanks yo all.
We had a great Father's Day weekend here at this resort. It was very relaxing and fun to explore. Our room was beautiful and the grounds are so lush. We had delicious drinks & meals at the restaurants on site. The pool is nice with lots of room. They had bike and kayak rentals that were really fun to do as a family. And, they also have miniature golf. We're going to get a room on the beach next time, so we can sit by the firepits and watch the sunset every night. Highly recommend!
i had the pleasure of staying at Paradise Point Resort because i was attending a conference. the rooms were clean and comfortable, the property was well maintained, and the staff members were extremely polite and accommodating. i would definitely recommend staying at the Paradise Point Resort.
I have been coming here every year . This time , long lines and dirty rooms . The grounds are not kept up . This use to be such a nice resort . We won't be back .
This resort is beautiful. I stayed in a room that was gorgeous, right off the beach. Each room looks like a little apartment - very private and beautiful. An outstanding place to have an event as well! Restaurants are a little over priced.
Great views of Mission Bay, right on the water. Has the feel of being on an island, away from the city and on it's on schedule. Plenty of parking for my conference and a pleasant place for a venue
Besides having to deal with a cockroach in our room they also had 0 customer service... The least they could do would be to give us a different room or take off the charges. Per Roberto the manager he didn't care about a bad review well then there u have it.. dirty floors, but amazing location. Will never go back nor recommend to anyone I know.
a must go to place to stay. peacefull. close to all the sights and sounds of San Diego
I visited Paradise Point to inquire about wedding spaces. This location is absolutely beautiful and nearly perfect, if you're willing to work within their list of preferred vendors.
High end. Safe. Walkability. Plenty of restaurants. Less than 1 mile to Sea World.
I really enjoyed my vacation at the resort!! Very nice place and great service!!
Room is clean checking out the rest of the place today
Hotel rooms are in bungalows. Nice staff. Spiders were in shower curtain
Well run and maintained even though it feels a bit dated. Relaxed atmosphere. Certainly a destination location.
We had a great time overall. Room could have been a little cleane however I would definitely come again and refer this place to friends.
If I could give more stars, I would. This is an amazing place. The grounds are beautiful. The room was wonderful. Mostly, I want to compliment the staff. We did not find one person who was not friendly. Everyone was smiling. Every staff person we came in contact with went out of their way to be pleasant. It was a truly phenomenal experience. We ventured to another resort on the bay for dinner one night. The waitress, although professional, never smiled, she made no effort to be cordial or happy. It was quite a contrast from the restaurant staff, marina staff, front desk staff, housekeeping staff and everyone else we came in contact with at Paradise Point. If you haven't been, you should go.
