Palisade Medical Ctr Review

This is by far the WORST hospital I have ever had an encounter with. My mother was rushed in by ambulance for kidney pains, chest pains and troubled breathing. She was brought to the ER and placed in a bed immediately but the staff did not seem concerned at all. They did not know how to put the needle in her arm and it took multiple tries, leaving her with bruises on her arms and did not have gloves on to give her medication. Once she was admitted into a room most of the staff showed no care for helping her, she is bed bound and needs help getting up and down and they just watched her struggle. There were however 3 male nurses that were very kind - Alex, Ruddy and Kyle very helpful. The hospital did not "have the resources " to do the procedure my mother needed and kept trying to send her to Hackensack where my mother's insurance does not cover. They had been told many time that she could not go there but they would not listen and basically were just trying to get rid of her, regardless of her situation. One staff member was even overheard saying to another memeber that he wasnt sure why she was so concerned since it's not like she has much time left. My mother was very hurt by that as this was news to her, and lost all trust in this hospital at this point. I will never recommend this hospital to anyone at any point for any reason.

God help you if you re in a car accident and are brought here. Not only are you waiting for over 2 hours but most of the staff don t even care to engage you and let you know what s going on! Worst place to come for care!

The worse place in the world! Do Not come here! There is not sense of urgency or humanity , people don t seem to care, too many employees walking around doing nothing and taking forever acting like they are doing paperwork just killing time( and I guess killing people too). Asian lady at front desk had an attitude with both associates and employees, the African American lady next to her taking vital signs is the only one who hasn t stopped working, she is good, but one good person against an entire screwed up system it s not good enough. There are more security officers than doctors. Only two doctors and one learning their new system so only one doctor. I have been here for over 2 hours and he has gotten of the chair to actually see customers once. I guess he helps people remotely from the desktop.
This is embarrassing, shaming, inhuman.
I will make sure everyone knows about this. I am writing a letter to newspapers, local news, BBB compaint now. I just did Twitter and Facebook.

My husband has a bacterial infection. He has been in the hospital since Tuesday. Palisades thinks the source is the hip replacement. So they tell him he needs to find an orthopedic surgeon to "wash it" or replace it. Apparently, no one on their staff wants to touch the case. In the meantime, they keep giving antibiotics, which they admit are not working because of the hip and keeping him in the hospital (becaue they cannot recommend releasing him) while we have to do their job and find a doctor. Digest that: the patient has to find a doctor for the hospital... Find a doctor that is affiliated Hackensack University... I am sure they have orthopedic surgeons. Lastly, we asked for a certain primary doctor. They assigned us a different one who or may not take our insurance. Giving my husband antibiotics without an orthopedic surgeon and assigning him a random doctor seems like a way to make money and only money. When is it about the patient?

Their maternity ward is amazing. The nurses are fantastic!

I don't know what's going on with this hospital the doctors in the ER have the worst bedside matters they should not be called Doctors this is more like a fast food restaurant I have never seen this I really thought because they changed to Hackensak hospital
they would try to honor the good name of the hackensack hospital
I saw so much I think the only one that took her job serious was a Hispanic nurses which I believed she was doing a 3 nurse job there my Daughter was seen in the ER 2 days in a row and was given pain killers anf some Antibiotic that is not working and the Doctor that was seeing her just left for the day with no instruction for her so they sent her home with A serious infection
I pray to God that this infection does not get worst and nothing happens to her because I will be suing them for Negligence I left very disappointed thinking they have your best interest for you but this is just a drive thru doctor....

I had great experiences at Palisades Medical Center throughout my recent pregnancy. I would highly recommend their Maternal Fetal Medicine department and Labor and Delivery department to any expectant mother. The nurses, doctors, technicians and staff were wonderful.

Initially I left a 1 star negative review but later I changed my mind to 4 star because of the following. After my 1 star review the relationship team representative contacted me on the same day and promised to follow up. Then I got a surgery and in the surgery room everybody was nice. Nurses, doctor and other personnel were nice and processional. The surgery per se was completed successfully.

My initial review was as follows:

I was scheduled for the surgery today. The medical nurse came out of the admitting hole at the first floor, and she was totally disrespectful. She had curly black long hairs and dark blue dress. It seems like she is not from the admitting department, she just did pass by and then went to the area behind the reception. I asked her what to do if I came for surgery and she totally ignored me. I asked her again and she asked to wait. Then she came back and ignored my questions again. Then she just ran away. So disrespectful. If I would have a choice I would definitely choose a different clinic for a surgery. I wouldn't trust my life to such disrespectful personnel.

Worst hospital!! Emergency secretary did not care of your emergency!! Do not you there!! Had to go to another hospital after waiting 40 mins!! What type of emergency room is this!!!

Sorry we didn't remember the names of everyone else who made our 2 days stay in the hospital a pleasantful and an unforgettable experience.

This is the best hospital I love them they save lives no lie they took good care of me . Maybe changed my future for the best. My husband was so happy and now where getting married. the hospital staff, team was awesome the 4th floor the surjernts and there team as well they where unbelieveable they was so caring and supportive threw my time n surgery there for me and my going home I build a beautiful relationship that I'll never forget it .

This hospital is literally the worst hospital ever. The nurses and staff are VERY unorganized when it comes to transporting their patients and collecting any urine or blood samples. Not only that, but the wait time is RIDICULOUS. You could literally be in there for 6 hours just to be given an ok to go home. This hospital needs to work on bettering it s wait time and simply just become organized.

If I could give this hospital 0 stars I would.I've been waiting 5 hours
but I still didn't reach the doctor. you never get answers to your questions.

This hospital is a nightmare, give your symptoms and you are immediately diagnosed without any additional testing.

My past experience for the past 2 years with Palisades Hospital has been horrible, in the past I ve had wait until my daughter was discharged from the ER to run from Palisades to Hackensack Hops. to ONLY find out my daughter needed to be admitted, how did they find the issue? THEY PREFORMED ADDITIONAL TESTING! Had I not followed my instincts to take my daughter to a better hospital, she would had been in a worse and very painful situation.

Had to bring my mom in being her UNION claims this is the ONLY hospital she can be seen in with her insurance along with Jersey City Medical Center (2 of the worst). Brought her in for a pain in which has caused her to not be able to walk, lift her her, stand etc. basically paralyzed with-out an explication, she has to use a cane and even with that she is unable to move an inch on her very own.

Victor (PA) took advantage of a previous diagnose many years ago which I am sure he found on the Hospital system (EPIC) we confirmed her previous diagnosis as well.

Mom was previously diagnosed with a (Herniated Disk) 7 years ago, her symptoms related to her back and upper thigh CLEARLY come from her previous medical issues (which I can understand) BUT Victor (PA) would not look into the problem deeper as far as to her MAIN complaint which was the pain also coming from the groin area.

I had to request the actual Doctor to come in because the (PA) Victor showed 0 care 0 compassion 0 empathy, he rushed the entire process along with his assistant at the moment, when the nurse told him we requested a Doctor, his attitude was uncalled for. I laughed it off because as a medical precessional, I understand that you can become lazy through out the day and lets also put some blame on me, because my attitude switched the moment he opened his mouth and responded to her symptoms.

Dr. Andres Baquero came in and examined my mom further stated MRIs are not done at the hospital, Mmmmmm jajaja, I BOOK MRIs, NUCs, CTAs, Sleep Studies etc. EVERY DAY! At Palisades, I am close with other PAs and DRs whom have confirmed that information is complete BULL**** he really wanted to get away with that one, he completely ignored me and continue to ask my mom the same question to prevent responding to my comment in regards to the MRI..

The kid next to us had insomnia, his parents were concerned, very worried, he showed 0 COMPASSION! Told them they could not do much for him (0 TESTING) this kid looked as though he hasn t slept in years.

I could not help but over hear the ridiculous way he would respond to the patients, his dismissive reactions etc. It s disappointing, if I could get a hold of his license # and NPI I would file a complaint against him.

They gave my mom a steroid shot (awesome) that s exactly what I knew she needed, the prescribed her with muscle relaxer (ok) and a pain killer (I could have prescribed her that my self) but her comes a hefty bill FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Please try hard to stay away and go to Hackensack or any where else with better reviews.

I arrived by ambulance in excruciating pain from what I later learned was a ruptured disc. After receiving pain meds from the PA the ER Dr suggested I go home. My husband was appalled that no MRI or blood work was ordered. After convincing the Dr I needed the MRI the staff insisted putting me in a wheel chair that was a torturous experience. After the Dr saw the results of the MRI he said there was Nothing to be done and my husband should take me home and care for me. I could not move. The nurses found a local ambulance that was willing to take me home for $500 in cash my husband had to go to the bank to get the money This was like health care I imagine in a third world country.

One of the worst hospitals in the country went with my 5 year old daughter who had a broken nose and was bleeding a lot just to wait an hour to be attended meanwhile the nurses would give me an attitude to get my daughter paper for the bleeding.After am hour they called her but we were on our way out to hoboken medical center never going back no matter what. I suggest trying holy name hackensack hoboken or Englewood hospital all which are much better then this hell whole.

I brought my mom here. Nurses, staff, doctors were mostly all friendly. She had to stay there overnight and her nurse cinstantly checked up on her.

I really disagree with a few people who said the hospital staff are rude/not polite or helpful and nosey. From my first time experience, they were very polite, and I even got a hug from one of them. Just as I was leaving 3 staff rush to me to make sure I knew the situation with a member of my family who was having a baby. It was nice of them to be concern and let me know because I am a very busy woman. The security staff was on point, helped me get a taxi to go home after the one I usually used could not be bother to show up.

The doctors were on point, the nurse who looked after the member of my family came in the room every time an alarm go off to check the IV bag to be replaced. No staff was rude and in fact it was night time and a very quiet night indeed. Maybe when some people came in day or night, the staff could have had a very busy day. Who know there could had been serious medical emergencies or seriously hurt patients brought in and the staff have to attended to them immediately. One have to understand these jobs are stressful and a lot of pressure and we should be grateful the staff doing their job and their best under so much demands/stresses. If you call for an appointment make sure you call the direct phone number or extension and you'll get through. If you call the reception desk/security desk you have to remember they get hundreds of calls a day. So asked the doctors who you are seeing for the extension numbers to make appointments. I have been to other hospitals like in NYC, and never have any good experiences with them but one in lower Manhattan. Palisades Medical Center to me have a "family aura" feels.

Worst experience Ever. After being rushed to ER.
I was left waiting for hours in agonizing pain tremors and fever before treatment. During Several hours in ER- I was overdosed me with morphine after I told the three doctors ( med students and doctors) hovering over me my heartbeat was beating out of my chest I felt sick and faint one of the young ladies stated you ll be fine and laughed. After my rapid heart beat and overdose I refused the 3rd dose of morphine the ER doctor came to me and insisted I take it it repeatedly. Medications seems to be pushed on my body without my consent. Then I had
Mr. D. Rotoli assign to me with an air of arrogant superiority he repeatedly told me and I quote I was free to do whatever I wanted outside the hospital implying that I have somehow lost all rights to my medical care In this Hospital; and I am to do what I m told. He continued to argue with me regarding my decision to follow the surgical dr. advice to wait for infection and swelling to get under control before preforming appendix surgery. D. Rotoli stated He (his fellow doctor) can t do that you Need emergency surgery Now. his disapproval and dislike of his fellow doctors from the surgical team was unprofessional and shocking to me. His disagreement or personal issues with other Doctors on staff is of little interest to me as my only concern was the diagnosis and treatment of my body. I had no confidence in Mr. Rotoli unprofessional and immature manner in which he openly displayed to me. During his daily visits while my stay in the hospital Mr. Rotoli demeaning insults continued with my choices of vegan lifestyle and clean living. When one of the 2 antibiotics given to me was causing unpleasant migraines and nausea Mr. Rotoli dismissed my concerns and continued to prescribe the same antibiotics. On fourth night I was ready for discharge with clear plan for Monday morning by the surgical doctor. Mr. Rotoli visit me Sunday night and insisted I be discharged & leave on Sunday night due to fact that I was following other doctors orders and not his medical order for both antibiotics. At this point I had lost all confidence in Mr. Rotoli judgement as to my medical care. I told him that I had to contact a family member around 8 pm to pick me up. Mr. Rotoli wrote his scripts and discharged me Sunday night.

Horrible service. IDK How is this hospital still running

Emergency Room? That doesn't exist here, it's just another waiting room in this building. They take you in, ask for your information about 6 times, then put you in another room, then ask more questions, ( keep in mind this is the ER) then they sit you in a booth with 1 chair and have you wait even more. I've waited 6+ hrs just to finally see a doctor and get meds for my 1 year old son. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this useless hospital and it's emergency room bs. I'd rather drive 30min else where then come here. They don't ever check up on anyone, nor do they keep you posted at all. This has happened multiple times! Save yourself and go elsewhere for an ER because even on a slow day you'll be waiting at minimum 3hours!

Overall, I m quite disappointed with the apparent lack of concern. I have an incredibly painful connective tissue disorder, I arrived via ambulance in a very frail state, unable to walk. I had fallen, smashed my head and was blacking out. From the beginning I was treated with attitude, like a hypochondriac, I was then discharged, left alone in a chair in the hallway, told my CT scan was normal- *I hadn t received a CT scan. I was only re-admitted because a staff member found me blacking out and falling over where they had left me in the hallway.
The nurse who did my IV was quite rough and air bubbles came down the line. I kindly told her I was uncomfortable with that, she proceeded to take down the bag, shook it violently in my face multiple times and said the air is only coming because I m shaking it, see? Allowing a good section of air to shoot down the line, into my arm. I had to pinch off the IV myself, she called another nurse who proceeded to yell from across the room you need 300ml of air to die, calm down
To add icing on the cake I was inappropriately labeled and treated like a drug addict/ seeker. he s not going to give YOU any narcotics (I m severely allergic to everything and can t even handle Tylenol without a reaction) I have chemical allergies which were completely disregarded.
I ve never before had bad nerve pain arise from a simple blood draw or IV placement, I now have shooting nerve pains down my entire body where the needle was violently shoved into the back of my hand. It is very obvious that there is a complete lack of enthusiasm for the workplace. It lacks the drive and genuine care needed to successfully run an emergency department.
Unless you re in a life-threatening situation, save your funds and make the trip into the city, especially if you re chronically ill and need comfortable evaluation & treatment.

Worse emergency place ever, I went there because a catch a small metal piece in my eye, they make me wait like 3 hours for a doctor until the metal piece decided to roll out of the eye for the excess of tears. Bad experience.

My wife delivered a baby boy a week back. All the doctors and nurses were awesome. They all had the helping mind. We would like to thank the Dr Lowe and Penmatsa who attended my wife s labor.

It's the worst hospital, the nurses don't even ask the dr. before coming to the room what its wrong with the patient, they just come and ask what are you here for the worst experience you come here for an emergency and because they are not the specialist that you need they can not even transfer you to another hospital.. HORRIBLE I will never come here even if Im dyeing.. I rather go far away

I took my doughter to ER i give them my empire blue shield insurance they help her out and im getting over 500 usd bill because doctors working at ER they work for themselves and i have to pay for it so please can someone explain to me how da f**** all this crap works ?
I was reading people say bad about staff i dont have nothing to staff but why im going to ER and im getting bill for doctor because he is working not with hospital and he is not taking Blue Cross Empire and now i have to pay from my own packet over 500 usd ? So like i said ill never go there again!!! Good think we didnt do any xrays i dont want to think about my bill would be like 5K

Terrible my wife has been in hospital for a month so far 5 different things have dissapeared I keep complaing with no results today I thought I wood go to jail as nurse called me a lieyer as again something dissapeared she went as far as to tell me I had to go then called security which told her they couldn't do anything cause I was right then she call her supervisor and again I explained what happened and again told me your correct. I had to stay until 11pm to make sure that nurse wouldn't retaliate against my wife I hope when I go back to see my wife Sunday 7/29/18 they don't turn me away as I would have to take her from hospital A.M.A keeping fingers crossed cause I don't expect anything to be done about my concerns

Worst ER. I came because my primary care physician sent me to ER for an infection. The ER never did an exam, never asked about the medication I was on even though they started prescribing medicine. It s down right negligent. Even when I directly questioned the physician assistant about it, he ignored the question and proceeded to talk about something else while still not asking the medication I m on. I pity those who come here in dire need or those who are not educated enough to ask questions and advocate for themselves. Go literally anywhere else.

It's no surprise this hospital receives so much negative feedback. I came in with my wife because she had an appointment for a medical procedure. When we arrived to admission, the admitting receptionist seemed more focused about ordering lunch for the staff and inquiring on why her debit card was not working before admitting my wife for surgery. I usually don't post negative reviews. In fact, I don't post reviews at all. However, I felt it was necessary to share this experience so others can find a better hospital to go to. From the looks of it, they don't seem too concerned. They'll just reply back to these comments with a phone number to call and remain the same.

Ive had both parents stay at this hospital. It was very clean and the staff were professional and compassionate.

This is the closest hospital near my house and my wife just Delivered the baby in this hispital.
When I saw the reviews for this hospital I was disappointed and unhappy that we're gonna go to this hospital. I just want to say thank you to all the nurses and doctors that took very good care for my wife and my newborn little boy specially very big compliments for miss Mercedes, Ashley and Joana. They totally changed my mind and I don't think any of the other hospitals could do anything better. I strongly recommend this hospital for delivering a baby.

Do not bring your sick children to the Palisades Meeical Center. There is an utter lack of urgency, complete disorganization, and I can t speak to how the medical staff is because a doctor never actually examined our baby after 5 hours in the ER, despite the fact that we arrived in an ambulance. Not to mention that the medication they prescribed was not correct according to the pharmacist. And the doctor had left his shift by the time the pharmacist was as trying to call him, the pharmacist was then transferred to another part of the hospital where she was on hold for 15 mins and then hung up on.

After a few complaints, a couple of the nursing staff were trying to be helpful, so I can t say it was all bad, but it felt like we were swimming upstream against a tide of inefficiency.

I m glad to see that the hospital have responded to some of the positive comments here so I hope you are reading this. We won t be coming back if we can help it but, for the sake of future patients, I hope you will make some changes to the staff and procedures.

Feel compelled to write a review to balance out some of the others now that I've had a handful of satisfactory experiences here. Two years ago I had a small outpatient surgery and besides a very long wait to go in, everything was great and comfortable, staff was excellent. A few months ago we had a small scare during early stages of pregnancy so my doctor recommended we head to the ER; the place was clean and organized and the staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating every step of the way from check in to admin to ultrasound. Their biggest issue across the board seems to be wait times, which is why I can't give 5 stars; I haven't had a visit that required urgency, so I could see why that would be a reason for low reviews, especially with the ER. We plan to deliver our first baby here so since the ER visit we've been back many times for blood work, ultrasounds, a tour of the maternity ward, etc.--during those visits, we rarely have more than a brief wait and I've had a great feeling about every staff member we've encountered. Hoping our eventual visit for delivery this fall will be in line with our experiences so far!

I have been here since 10pm last night it is now 6:17am saw the doctor and nurse once.....now we just found out the bracelet that they put on her 15 seconds after being was white....which means she was being admitted....admitted? Without being checked? Without officially being given registered?
Cat scan, blood work, ultrasound done and not only ever person came in to speak to us.....save yourself the time and aggravation and go elsewhere.

At the moment my experience is good with him hospital I am pregnant and I have to go to the fourth floor to my sonograms and the attention is very good ...

This place is nice in the outside waiting room. Once you go into the emergency center it s really not clean looking. It was so hot in there about 85 degrees and I was in short sleeves and still sweating. There were gnats and bugs crawling on the ground and in the bathroom I guess because of the humidity. Nurse tried to take my blood two times and said it wasn t going to work even though blood was coming out... then I was gushing blood because he poked with two thick needles in the same spot. I do fine with taking blood but this really hurt my arm. He apologized for it though and was helpful explaining what medicine to take and food to eat to help my condition. They didn t do any other tests and just prescribed medicine. I was in and out pretty quickly- about 2.5 hours which is record time for an emergency visit compared to other hospitals I ve been to in the past.

If I could give this hospital 0 stars I would. My son needed physical therapy, so I made the appointments at this place. Don't get me wrong the doctors there are great is the staff that is unprofessional. You can't get there later than 10 minutes otherwise they don't let you in. So it happens to me 3 times that they didn't allow me in. I mean I understand that you have a time to be there, but they could be a little more human and understanding that sometimes things happen and what's the big deal if you get there 2 minutes after...

Got here with the symptoms of heart attack. Got the EKG done right away, and so on after the result came out normal, they locate me in the hallway bed. I thought this was a temporary solution, but it turns out I get to sit on this bed, with my bare back shown to public, got my blood drawn for twice, nurses fight each other at the nurse station, staffs are constantly banging the doors loud, sanitation in refrigerator is horrible, and the condiments are all left opened, no spoons, no crackers, all cabinets are locked. No single blanket was given in the 5 hours I've been here so I m wearing my coat over my patient outfit. I feel like I'm just a miserable homeless person on the street and I don't understand why I need to get treated like this. Never coming back, and won't recommend to any..........

The WORST HOSPITAL in NORTH BERGEN!!!! How is that hospital is still around. The staff is very rude, they have NO compassion and let's not talk about the case workers--they are VERY rude as well....not willing to help or even answer questions. My dad was sent to this hospital and they had the nerve to tell me they were releasing him b/c he was doing better. REALLY???? When i know my dad can barely breathe, he can barely talk or walk but they say he's doing better. DISGRACE!!!!! How can doctors clear patients when the patients are not 100% to be released. I seriously don't understand how this hospital isn't under review. I am reading all the reviews and they are ALL negative. Apparently, someone is brushing all these reviews under the rug and not notifying the people that need to read them. YOU should listen and read them b/c its ashame how you conduct yourselves in this hospital. PALISADES MEDICAL CENTER HOSPITAL you have not HEARD the last of me!!! Trust me.

Today was not a good day. I rediscovered how evil people are. How our health care is about the money not the patient. I had to sit at a meeting with the CEO of a hospital who makes a million dollars a year and listen to the diarrhea of his mouth. This fool and his bunch of low life assistants are deciding the fate of my husbands uncle. I discovered how badly a person with a mental illness is treated. The disrespect, the lack of compassion. When I had enough of their garbage, I blew up only to be escorted out by a demon in a suit caring only about money. Don't worry uncle Thomas, We are not done fighting for you or your rights. I am not proud of going full Cuban on them and telling them all to f themselves but I don't regret it.

I'm so desappointed with their service patients waiting for hours and doctors or whoever employees talking about everythig, one of those guy was on the computer, while my son was in pain and this guy ignoring my son get up and then went for lunch... other guy in blue toll me " in 2 minutes I'll with you" but after 45 minutes, said to me " I need other couple minutes".

Horrible please do not go there!!!! I was there with my 3 year old the day of the snow storm because she fell and hurt her elbow after taking X-rays two different times and 5 hours of waiting my husband and I walk out. We get a call back that my daughter had a fracture off course we run back. The lady is yelling at me telling me that I do not care about the well being of my child because we walked out of the ER. They put my 3 year old in a soft cast and a sling. The next day I take her to the specialist and my daughter did not have any fracture thank god. They have no idea what they are doing. Simply horrible. Never ever again I rather drive 30 min in the middle of a snowstorm.

I went to the emergency room here and the wait it was ridiculous plus staff is very unprofessional. I heard them fighting as I was waiting they just don't know what to do. I don't recommend this hospital if you can go somewhere else.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. We were forced to come here because my little brother was really weak from throwing up too much and this was the nearest hospital. We go into the ER waiting room and we re waiting to see the doctor and he starts throwing up in the lobby. The front desk lady watches him throw up and sees me frantically looking for a bucket or napkins. Not only does she not get up until I ask her for help but she took her time to get the bucket like nothing was happening. Then when we finally get into the E.R it took us to ask 3 different nurses and two different doctors for an IV drip. They don t listen to you and everyone here acts like they don t care. DONT COME HERE

THE WORST HOSPITAL

I was at Palisades Medical Center today at 9:30 am with my 4 year old boy with a fracture in his middle finger, I was there around 4 hours and they sent me home without doing anything the broken finger of my son because they did not have a pediatric surgeon in the hospital. The nurse practitioner told me to call a surgeon on Monday because they could do the procedure to the child in the office, I asked the nurse practitioner how the surgeon's office was going to check if they took my insurance, she I answered they will tell you on Monday. You can believe the negligence that this lady committed with a minor. I recommend not visiting that hospital is the worst hudson county hospital. I know there is another hospital affiliated with Palisades Medical Center, but do not think that they will give you good attention. The Palisades staff has not changed. Do not go to that hospital

I went to another hospital because they performed the surgery on my child, thank God.

11 o'clock scheduled surgery three hours later and waiting still. Why do people lie? Just say hey doctors take their time and is taking a long lunch sorry.

They would a negative from me, but this is the only way to voice my opinion. I was seened by Dr. Carl Desiderio, who had no compassion for his job, like a professional should. I was seened by him at 1p.m. and I had a bad stomach virus, was throwing up for hours. I had ask to speak to doctor because my symptoms were getting worst, and I was waiting for 5 more hour before he came back. By this time I was so disappointed and frustrated. When he came back, he was rude, unprofessional and really didn't care of anything I was asking him. I was votiming for hours, which he said was the Stomach Virus going around, yet my diagnosis in my final paper were for Diarrehea. Which was not the only thing I was there for. He was so unprofessional and walked away. He didn't take his time to see the problem. It's like I was a bother for asking him question. I was so disappointed because they use the name Hackensack Palisade but they nothing like the Real Hackensack Hospital, in Hackensack. If ur really sick or want good service, this is not the place to be.. That just some the experience I went threw. Don't bother calling Patient Relations, because its a waste of time.

I have never been to a more beautiful hospital. I had same day surgery yesterday, and everyone was so nice from admitting to the 3rd floor where my same day surgery took place. Not one attitude no matter how many questions you asked. Everyone worked well with eachother as team it was just beautiful. I can remember some names and I apologize for the ones I missed. Nurse Debbie, nurse Titana, Nurse Vanessa, Rosie, the anthesiologist, the lovely woman who wheeled me down I cannot remember her name, and especially Dr. Penmatsa. Today I received a phone call to see how I was feeling never had that happen before from the previous hospitals I've been to before after having 2 c-sections. Thank you again such a beautiful place to be when your not feeling well, because the staff will make you feel so much better.

I had back surgery a few weeks ago. I told my surgeon never send anyone to this facility. The plan with my surgery was that I would spend one night in the hospital and then I would have to have a PT nurse help me walk a little bit so nothing locks up. Well the day after the surgery I was on so many meds I slept the entire day. I woke up around 3a with my legs and back locked up. I called up for the nurse. He came in and I said I need to get up everything is locked up. He said he could not help and said too bad I was asleep and the PT nurse did not want to wake me. What?! Why wouldn't you wake me if it was doctors orders. If that was not bad enough. After the nurse would not help me. He is talking to my roommate about me in Spanish. Very Unprofessional. Who allows their staff talk about another patient to another patient who doesn't know them?

I remember when I was around 7/8 years old my mother became incredibly ill. My sister and I brought her to this hospital. It s close by and you d expect that they d attend her quickly seeing how bad she looked. Well they didn t, the nurses weren t even paying attention to her and it took us forever to even get attended, and when she did they were apathetic about the situation. I could see my mother in so much pain, she couldn t even open her eyes. THEY SENT HER BACK HOME THAT SAME NIGHT! They didn t even keep her long enough for observation. You know what happened? We came back home my mother just trembling, trying to come up the 3 flights of stairs where we live. I was a child, my sister was a teenager and we were oblivious we assume that the pills and everything would help out. The following day my mother s fever was higher and she went to the hospital TWO more times after but they seemed annoyed and sent her back?? So then after all that, she was getting worse so she decided to go to the doctors and remind you my mother had to work to provide for my sister and I. So if the hospital is saying she s fine then she s fine? But she went to her doctor to be reassured but she looked so pale, I d never seen her that way, just was weak. Since my sister and I had school we couldn t go with her to that appointment. But once I was out of school it was to find out that my mother had been sent to the emergency room accompanied by her doctor!!! Her kidneys had stones but the problem was that they GOT INFECTED MY MOTHER WAS LITERALLY DYING. She was in and out of coma, because of their delay, because of the bad and treatment!!! THEY ASSUMED RATHER THEN DOUBLE CHECKING! I was in second grade, I remember it so well I thought I was going to lose her and years have passed by but it was traumatizing and I remember how they told us after they don t think she d make it. It was because of her doctor, that she s still alive. He was able to rescue her but it definitely made me fear hospitals. He was the one that took her case because they obviously didn t care enough so he treated her there. Sadly this is the only hospital nearby for me. But I had heard that there were new people running this hospital, and you d think they would know what they re doing. I have gastritis, one day I came out of my summer job with a really bad pain I was afraid maybe it was an ulcer or something. It was too late to head to the doctors and I couldn t take this immense pain anymore so I WALKED yes I walked to the hospital. I worked around there but it was a long walk and when I got there it was around 4, I left there at 12am. Waiting for a cat scan!!! Hello I have gastritis my stomach lining is literally inflamed and imagine waiting to be attended ALREADY INSIDE also not being able to have any type of food in your system because of the cat scan. I understand that but I have acid building up the longer they took, I was passing out, all they did was take some blood out and if I didn t keep bothering them about how I needed to be seen soon. They would have kept me there longer. I could see people that came after me leaving and I was still there. PLUS they didn t bother to tell me I didn t have insurance so now i have to pay a load of money????? For a day that I didn t even get treated, correctly? Thank you for my ruining childhood and now my adulthood. Don t go here. I had the biggest headache I left there even more sick and thank God for my doctor and thank God for His mercy because I ve been better. Plus the nurse was disgustingly rude and so I fired back to her because one she wasn t even there while I was waiting she started her shift literally when I decided to walk out myself. Like after the cat scan they had me there waiting even more like what!?? I m passing out but you know what I did? I called after I left and apologized to her for the way I responded to HER RUDE COMMENTS. THANK YOU LORD for making me a caring person and I can t wait to be a doctor myself so I can school them.

By far the best hospital I ve ever been in EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT physicians, nurses and staff the wait time and experience without getting into specifics I went into the emergency department by ambulance but I also went in as a walk-in another time prior to give you more of an idea on the wait time both times I went in without any wait. I had to have emergency surgery and the attending physicians and surgeons were so informative and attentive. I received the best treatment and care can t forget to mention the nurses in the emergency room as well as the nurses in the recovery room after my surgery were really pleasant and attentive everyone I came into contact with were so professional and I have to add how pleasant and friendly everyone was I felt comfortable and most of all in great hands when it came to my health and well being the facility is clean and organized. WONDERFUL WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.

Horrible bedside nursing, staff didn't wash their hands, call bell didn't work, and there was little flies in the ER.. The list could go on..

The worst hospital in the world. They admitted me, but now that I m out there s no way to reach whoever doctor attended to me there. No therapy no kind of clearance for anything. Days on the phone and still nothing. Screw this place

This hospital is a rip off! DO NOT ever think of going to this hospital, they charge you a hefty amount even for minor procedures. My wife had a slight stomach pain we did a walk-in at the ER services and they asked to do all sorts of tests on her eg CT scan with contour and all sorts of blood and urine tests. We had the insurance and even after insurance our bill came to $8800 and out of which $4190 were charged just for the CT scan. Everything was fine with my wife and we were asked to wait for 4-5 hours when we complained we wanted to go home they did not let us leave. We came in at 8pm and were let go of at 1.00 am. We received the bill after a month of service and they did not bother telling us that all the tests are going to cost a lot. I m fighting with my insurance to investigate and dispute the charges. This hospital is an example of capitalism and i do not recommended anyone to visit this facility. American insurance and healthcare industry needs to up their game and think about masses and people and DONT CHARGE EXUBERANT RATES!!!! Shame on this facility!

Pity care, the nurses work without a win, shack in the chair and do not help at all when one asks for something. The wait for attention is super fatal, for everything that you do as draw blood or make an x-ral take hours. They should change the attention and be kinder. I was with my son and I have been here for more than 4 hours so they gave me a xray and the result. What a pity it is not the same as the other hospitals because of my bad luck the ambulance brought it here.

Emerency room is a joke. No one cares on the condition of the patient

I find it inhumane and degrading that a patient who suffers from incontinence is being forced to not wear diapers and are being forced thru no choice of their own to have to sit in their urine and waste without a diaper only on a bedpad. According to the hospital this will prevent bedsores but sitting in your own waste without anything on is worst for the patient when the CNA cannot get to clean them immediately and for the family to watch them sit there with nothing on.

I have been trying to schedule an appointment with charity care. I have called about 20x and all calls go to voicemail.

So for now, that's all I can say for this facility as we had no other services necessary. When it comes to my kids the service needs to be the highest quality.

I have to ask the clerk or nurse for a doctor to see my family member that have been here for 3 hours and nobody has see her. They already registered her 3 hours ago, and charge the coopay . The attention is bad.

The emergency room it's amazing fast and helpful, amazing doctors and nurses and staffs.

Seriously worst hospital ever! I stayed 5 days and see no Doctor! Almost 20 different people (students) came to room and asked same stupid questions over and over again! (Do you have any allergies) Helloooo! I have a thyroid cancer! They have no clue what the heck they suppose to do. Don t waste your time to go there, wait till Die but don t ever go there!

Don t go here. My mother was rushed here by the ambulance and spent 3 days waiting for a transfer to the hospital where she s normally treated. They lost her ID and insurance card, and when I called to find out no one could give me answers. They did a CT scan and saw something which when I spoke to my mother the doctor had told her was cancer!!!! Knowing my mother s medical history I knew they had no idea what they were talking about. That Friday morning 2 doctors called me to authorize an endoscopy and BIOPSY that HAD to be done that day because if not she had to wait until Monday because they don t work weekends. I refused to authorize the procedure and they told me that she was going to be discharged, luckily I was already in the lobby and got her out of this place. Later on she had an MRI that showed absolutely NOTHING wrong with her. Unless it s an emergency STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

My dad is recently in there intensive care unit. The first night I arrived everything was great the nurses and everything look amazing. The next day we returned the experiance was horrible... I even got to talk to all the people in charge because the head nurse was so rude. I decided to stay and watch over my dad watched ever single thing they did saw how they used the same tool to clean his mouth over and over again without cleaning it or changing it. Saw how they barely moved him and how he couldn't move but yet he had tight straps on his wrist (oh by the way my dad is sedated). Went home my brother looked over him for the day time while I slept so I can watch him in the night. Next night saw how the pured a liquid inside his tube that had been open since before I got back. Some nurses don't even have there ids out and only my dads real doctor gave me my dad diagnosis all the others just told me what they were doing. So I requested to talk to his main doctor in the hospital and then the nurse felt offended because I told her I didn't want to speak about the issue with no nurse I wanted to speak with the main hospital doctor so she went on and called my brother who listed his self as the primary person... To make the long story short don't trust this hospital they don't treat your loved ones correctly they do half a job, nurses sometimes put gloves on sometimes they touch things they would not touch with there bare hands with the gloves they put on and start touching your loved one there is a lot of cross contamination is saw and while I was there they weren't so packed to say that it justifies how rushed they do thing to patients specially when they are unconscious and can't defend them self. They might be short staffed. Who knows but this is one of the worse hospitals I've seen and hate the fact that they allowed my older brother who is never there to be the one who decides on what to do with my father.

Unless you go out and follow up no attention is paid to you. For a simple blood checkup they take 2-3 hours. This is no way even close to ER

ER very poor service from the doctor super slow and inefficient and not to professional work. Making bad conclusions and decision without investigate deep the problem . very disappointed the service is the 3rd time and they make almost the same bad service.

I ve been here with my baby for three hours. If I had not asked when we would be seen we would be waiting here three more.

Worst hospital ever. My wife had to wait 2.5 hours to get her prescription and get discharged with the baby. She had to literally ask everybody and go down the chain of personnel to find who has her prescription to get discharged. Nurses sit and do nothing, nobody is moving.... Slow and unprofessional!!!

Where do I even begin. Came in with a stab wound and waited 1 hour in the waiting room while I was bleeding. Waited another hour and a half to get an x-ray and still had no idea when my wound was going to be closed or at least given bandages because I WAS STILL BLEEDING the whole time. I was then told to stand in another patient's room while mine was picked at random to treat another one. When they left they told me I can go back in while all of the other patients discarded stuff was on the bed. I had to grab someone to let them know and they left the sheets on and everything even though I was still bleeding, and had bled on the sheet that they had the other patients on. I was still waiting, 4 hours later, with an open stab wound to get at least a gause to close it up with. NEVER come here. There are too many other options in the area to suffer through this.

Edit: I added one star for the PA who was the absolute best and finally stitched me up with care.

Went to the ER yesterday with abdominal pain by 5 o'clock I was in emergency surgery. Doctors Gonzalez, Grinaldi, Sim along with all staff wonderful. I have had a very good experience. So grateful this wonderful hospital is in our area

My son is getting surgery at this hospital and it has been a bad experience since the scheduling. First, they didn t call us to tell us details about the surgery the day before. We had to call them at 2 pm the day before the surgery to ask details about the surgery , and the lady said oh we have until 7 pm to call you . That is ridiculous. Other hospitals I have been to call days in advance for same day surgery !!!! Then after, the lady calls back two hours later stating a different time for the surgery, for us to come earlier 8:30 am. Fine. We get to the hospital around 8:10, we get checked in and everything etc. Once my son was prepped with IV and everything, they tell us that the lady next to us is going first and then we will go..... at that point I got very confused as to what was going on. I go to the receptionist and ask why we were so delayed just so I can understand. The receptionist tells me it was a mistake in the scheduling and that nothing in life is guaranteed I got upset because she seemed to not care that we would now be waiting 4 hours for my sons surgery. We asked the nurses and everyone coming in and out and nobody knew why he was in so early. So I asked to speak to Michele Imprevenduto, the director of cardiac cath lab. She came in and apologized for the delay and said there wasn t anything she can do for the scheduling. Still upset that this was just a mistake to everyone. At this point the doctor comes in, who was great, and explained to us that he had asked for them to tell us to come in early Incase his other surgery got canceled due to the complications of this lady. That was completely ok with me that somebody finally explained to me why there was such a delay!!! The fact that there was no communication to the admins in the front handeling patients and families is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. The fact that there was no communication on this end just made me more nervous for my son to get surgery here. Luckily we have a good doctor, but I would never come back here again for same day surgery.
