AC was not working. Called and they said they were working on it. 2 days later still nothing. Room quality is fair at best. Other families in our party had toilets not working, ants everywhere in the bathroom. Manager gave one family a discount but refused to honor the same discount for everyone that had the same issues. He became combative and was very dismissive. Will not stay here again.
We stayed recently at Pala Mesa Resort during a quick weekend trip down to San Diego. I had read reviews stating that the hotel was not kept up-to-date, but decided to chance it anyway. When we arrived, the hotel and restaurant staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and when I inquired about the availability of any freshly renovated rooms, we were pleasantly surprised to find the buildings where we were booked to bright, airy, quaint but modern and not at all like other reviews. The rooms were very comfortable, and except for the one neighbor's entry on the wooden entryway outside our door, we were completely undisturbed. There was a wedding going on, so the parking was a little sparse, but other than that, I can't find a single thing to complain about. The locale was woodsy and quiet, the beds were comfy, the food was outstanding, service was wonderful, and the checkout was easy. Thanks, Pala Mesa... we'll be back!
Beautiful venue for a wedding. Golf course on the property is highly ranked.
Don't stay there or eat there. The buildings and rooms are full of cobwebs and rotten wood everywhere. The food was terrible. And when we complained at check out a shrug of the shoulders. That s good customer service.
Hard to believe no air conditioning in our room. Well, there was a fan on the wall, but it was just kicking out room temp air. Dated buildings, you could tell they been there for a while. Nice course though.
Clean store prices a little bit higher than other places but very convenient
Stopped in for a few with friends who stayed there
Our night stay was difficult, but the manager is letting us give it another try. Perhaps it was an anomaly, the grounds are certainly beautiful. The events venue is stunning. At night though, I was willing to overlook the lack of hot water. Then I put on a sweatshirt to sleep in because there was only one thin blanket on the bed and no spare blankets on a chilly night. The air conditioning stayed on, further freezing us and it cannot be controlled in the room (?) as the maintenance staff later explained to me. But then, the fire alarm started going off every 30 seconds at 3 a.m. Front desk said they could do nothing. Maintenance wasn't in until morning. No one could problem-solve or locate a ladder to replace the battery. We had to endure the alarm every 30 seconds for 4 hours until maintenance arrived later that morning. There was no manager on the premises and front desk said they didn't know when a manager would be in. I have never written a negative review before but, as stated before, I am hoping this was a very unusual night and I plan on giving a great review if I can on my next stay courtesy of the manager. They are trying to make it right and I believe next time will hopefully be better!
Great place! Lunch specials are reasonable price. Tasty prime rib dip
By far my worst experience in a resort....We booked through another source and received a decent room, clean and a place to sleep..2 nights our keys don't work and construction on our building starting at 7 am not too great for your 10 year anniversary. To top it off our last night has a wedding party right outside our room..Just a thought but maybe place guests that stay 3 nights away from parties and construction.
Food at AquaTerra is fabulous. Live music on weekends, championship golf course. People say the rooms are outdated, I say they are past outdated...they are now really cool RETRO. They aren't your typical cookie cutter rooms...nice large rooms (400 sq feet and up) and a lot have patios. Real tranquil, laid back atmosphere. Perfect for a destination stay or a local staycation. And of course the boutique Bello Vita Spa with the world class massage and skincare services really puts this place on the map.
Don't care for Pala sadly. All staff looks at patrons with suspicion and follow you while pretending to keep things uniform by pushing in chairs. They are unhelpful and often times blatantly rude. Forget complaints bc they go unheard.
Wish I am able to give a negative rating. This is the dirtiest/most run down hotel that we have ever stayed at. The place is falling apart and bug/spider infested. Employees have a lack of empathy and could care less about your comfort or your stay at the location. We had no hot water in our shower. My husband has multiple spider bites on his body. The safety lock on our door was busted and haphazardly put back on the molding. The shower/tub had been refinished and the refinish was pealing off and shards of the refinish were in the bathtub that we had to clean so they wouldn't cut our feet. When maintenance came to look at the shower they tracked mud into the room and bathroom and didn't clean it up. We spoke to the front desk in person and from the room and they wouldn't even entertain the idea of a refund and couldn't move us to a different room either. So our advise is to stay as far away as possible from this hotel. Motel 6 would be a much better choice than the Pala Mesa Resort.
Beautiful, great rustic rooms! My only disappointment was that they are going to redo the rooms, I liked the older style and everything was real nice still, not used looking.
Great staff, reasonable prices and great golf deals!
Very challenging and enjoyed the course. Recommend this
Rooms look and smell like they haven't been renovated since 2000, and the condition of the entertainment center and sink match that assumption.
Paid 150, rooms were old and had stains on the carpet The grounds were nice, got there at night and barely any lights so felt a little unsafe. Wouldn't stay again but nothing was bad about it specifically
Horrible accommodations. The room had not been used in a while. The a/c was broken and kept off, the air was stagnant and it smelled like grandpa was ready to kick the bucket. They had 25 yr old "Box" TVs. All they did to remediate was slap the a/c controller back on the wall and they sent a boy to spray some febreeze and sprinkle some scented baking soda on the carpet. They were supposedly out of rooms and while I was waiting for a fix, I was listening to them talk to the next customers telling them that one of them employees "conveniently" switched their joint rooms without asking the customer.
Loving the golf and mostly the people here! Yoga class outside is fun too. A must stay for the Fallbrook area.
Our Room . Witch was supposed to be the excutive suite . Needs a renovation . The back sliding door did not lock which left us uncomfortable while sleeping . The biggest problem was the thermostate broke while we were sleeping . We woke up freezing . At 6:00am . Could not get the AC to shut off . Please keep in mind it was 40 degrees outside . My wife and I hurried to take hot showers which the water only got barely warm . My wife got ready while wrapped a blanket and we rushed out the door . When got to the parking lot which was to crowed . Found our mirrors bent in the forward position and we were barely able to squeeze out . Reported all of this to the front desk . The employees just said sorry for the inconvience .
Very dissapointed we should have just stayed home .
Challenging course for sure. Always friendly staff.
The rooms look and smell like the 1970 s. The furniture was worn and there were cobwebs in the shower. The resort itself is beautiful but I wouldn t recommend staying here.
Large portions, even for the kids menu items! And everything tasted great. My daughter has allergies and the staff were very helpful to make sure the food was safe for her.
An OK golf course, friendly environment, great staffs and good people around. Course design doesn t have much to remember, fairway and green Condiction were good. A game after spending sometime in Pala casino was really a wonderful vacation.
Great place for a car show, right off the 15 freeway
I got a tee time off of golf now for $35 @ 2pm on a sat.. good deal
I got on the course right away. I found the course to be tight. There was nt very much room for error.
The course was in pretty good condition. Fairways had almost no bare spots. The greens were nice but extremely slow. The greens were guarded with knarly bunker placement. The greens were also very small.
The carts were top notch. They were equipped with gps, radio, cell phone charger (didnt work though) and in new condition.
The BEST thing about the course was pace of play. I ran into 1 group only and they let us pass, lol. The round only took 2.5 hrs on a sat. Try that in la on a sat or any day of the week.
I would definately play there again if i was on that side of town.
Bello Vita Spa is now offering our fantastic services at this beautiful resort. Come visit us at Pala Resort!
Love this place ! I have been there for many weekend meetings, and the place I great ..
I would describe Pala Mesa Resort as basic - great.
We played golf at this place. Well on the documentation received. In reality, very beautiful greens, correct starting mounds but atrocious fairways, a potato field ... in addition very slow game, we gave up at the 14 th hole. On the other hand, friendly staff.
What a fantastic hotel. The bathroom was just lovely with a beautiful shower. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean and nicely decorated.
Stay away. At least until the buyout from Hilton takes place.
After finding out from maintenance that the AC units weren t working in our building and would not be working during our stay, the front desk offered up a $25 refund on a $600 stay.
Add the ant infestation in the bathroom and in our beds, $25 seemed a tab bit unfair.
When I spoke to the general manager, who initially chose not to speak to me, his excuse for a non-functioning AC system was that it was a hot weekend in SoCal. I m from Phoenix and it was 116 at home. And my AC is working.
After calling the GM on his bogus excuses, he agreed to reduce our rate by nearly $80 a night. And I was fine with this. It was certainly better than $25 total. However, after several families, some with young children, complained about the AC not working and being bit by ants, the general manager refused to give others the same refund we supposedly will receive.
The grounds are beautiful and perhaps new ownership can turn this dump around. However, I will never visit Pala Mesa again, not will I recommend it to others.
The golf was amazing. Great price for twilight hours and a great course!
This is a really cool place to chill by the pool on a hot summer afternoon...Poolside service could be improved
Service is always great. Great place. Great employees.
Very nice place they have a beautiful patio which we sat outside and listen to the concert nice Cool Breeze excellent service excellent food highly recommend it to anybody who'd like to go there
Feel free to feel free to small
Golf Available
I gave it a 2 star because the room smelled and it felt very dusty. I could not sleep the 2 nights I stayed there because my allergies kicked in as soon as I walked in the room, also the matress was very uncomfortable. I noticed room service did not vacuum the room the 2 nights I was there, it didn't feel fresh even though they had already cleaned. I think some updating is definitely needed.
Best resort in North County San Diego or Temecula without having to be member of some ridiculous club or piling into a casino with the masses. Staff is genuinely friendly and attentive, and you won't find better lodging in the area (actually being renovated). The golf course is beautiful and challenging, and the dining atmosphere and entertainment was perfect, saw The Fallbrook Kid perform my favorites during dinner!
Here is maranilla to have a good rest. Or for those who want to do something familiar is very indicated. For those who wish to marry and make a respsion resplendent, this place is wonderful. Take it very close
This is a perfect day to play golf. A beautiful fairway and a fast greens.
Stayed at the resort for the 2016 Reality Rally, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The rooms were clean and spacious, and the grounds were impeccable. Looking forward to attending next year's Reality Rally!
Went for only 2 nights. Customer service was great.
The place look very nice and the staff are very helpful.
Beautiful AREA! I went golfing with my husband and the greens were so peaceful! The food, service and best of all location was a total 5 star rating.
Are experience when we walked in was that the entire lobby smelt like the sent of cigars. We went for a late night dinner and are server was very distracted by serving drinks to people. Are cloth napkins smelt like mildew and it took hours for all the food to be served and it also came at different times so half are party ate and the other half was waiting still. The rooms are out dated but clean. For as much as they are charging I expected more than what I experienced.
I was in room 233 and the room smelled musty and damp. the F.A. heating did not work, In order to get the heat to go on at night we had to get up and shake the thermastat to function, the coffee cups to be used with the coffee maker had dead mothes in them. The small refrigerater was an ice box, you had to fill the ice bucket with ice to keep it cold. Lighting on property was not good. to go to dinner at the hotel we had to use a flashlight on the disabled ramp. Same with room access. Our 2 night say was downsized to 1 night. We couldn't stay another night.
Good golf course. Greens in excellent conditions and fairways were ok
Very peaceful and beautiful. The food was delicious and the service was great!
This is a huge casino and they are currently expanding massively. There is a lot of casino floor for slots, card tables, roulette, craps, spa, pool, bingo, golf, massages, restaraunts, bars, jewelry, you name it. They also have shuttle service and buses. There is a ton of security and not the best place to be late at night or on the weekend without company.
Food over priced, average, waitresses at lunch was very rude
The foods at the restaurant is good. they can make msny kindd of Sushi roles.
Property is outdated but staff was friendly. Knowing that it is being purchased by the Hilton family of hotels I'm not surprised that they haven't kept up the property as much, but at $160 / night I'd have expected more.
Great venue going through a major remodel will be fantastic when it's finished
Danielle in the bar always takes such good care of us. I love the Pala burger.
Veru nice. Good service, yet a waitress was rude to every client.
