I personally would never buy my house again. I have not been happy with it from day one. There are so many little things that make it unpleasant. Ever time I drive up into my driveway it makes me sad. Update....even morefun to buy a brand new ho.e and able to use your dishwasher because it wont starting when they report the problem they tell frigidaire it's not washing g the dishes well. NO the problem is it wont start 69% of the time.Then you find out the part is on back order for 3 mo this. So basically brand new home,brand new dishwasher but cant ise it because parts are on back order for months. And when they came to do other repairs they forgot to do half of them and did a poor job what they did do. I would not recommend them to anyone.

My husband and I are currently working with Pacific Lifestyle Homes and Garrette Custom Home Builders to build our new home in southern Washington. From the very first consultation to choosing the design finishes, they have been absolutely great to work with.
Our first encounter was with John who we met with to discuss the process and different home models and floor plans. We were immediately impressed with his candor and honesty. This is our first time building a home vs. buying and there are so many things to consider. He was very upfront and honest from the beginning so that we would not be blindsided by costs and roadblocks along the way. Since then, he has been extremely helpful when we do have questions and has been a pleasure to work with. He is very down-to-earth and has helped us design the structure of our home thoughtfully, while still remaining within our budget. We would recommend John to work with for sure to anyone who has the chance.
Next came our appointment at the Pacific Lifestyle Homes Design Studio in Vancouver to choose our finishes and it was AWESOME. We met with Karen who was fantastic! First , I also want to add in here that they are working through COVID-19 restrictions and still making sure that clients are able to get in for appointments safely, taking all needed precautions and keeping up the utmost professionalism. Additionally, I want to add that my husband and I are currently temporarily living in the Bay area just outside of San Francisco, so getting this all done has been a challenge in itself, but again, they have done everything they can to keep us moving forward. In traveling for this trip, we were unable to find a dogsitter and we had to bring our 4 dogs. The day of our appointment was at least 90 degrees. Our intention was to leave our car locked and running with the AC on, leave lots of water and check on them every 20-30 minutes or so during our 4 hour appointment because we didn't have any other choice. Karen was amazing and made an exception for us due to the extreme heat and allowed them to come in with us for our appointment. I do not believe this is normal practice because this is a business and dogs can be messy. But she wanted to make sure they were okay and safe and made this allowance for us. Luckily, we do have very well behaved dogs and they proceeded to sleep while we conducted our appointment. I cannot begin to express how much this meant to us. This gesture alone spoke volumes as to not only the person that Karen is, but also the company itself looking out for us and our dogs who are our family.
Now for the appointment itself. Karen was very methodical and went through everything with us. She showed us the finishes that are included in the base price of the home and all the options we can upgrade to. She knew we had a budget we wanted to keep in line with, but also of course wanted to design a beautiful house and she did not disappoint at all. Karen is very well versed in all the products and reasons why or why not to choose them. For instance, we have 4 dogs, so hard wood was not our best choice, but she was able to direct us through the various laminates and tiles that will hold up much better and helped us find the perfect solution. She then helped us find the best matching colors and patterns for cabinetry, backsplash, carpet, etc... We wanted to maximize our efforts on the kitchen and master bath and she used her wizardry to help us find the beauty we were looking for, but also keeping within our money goals. She is extremely knowledgeable and helpful in guiding us on where our money is best invested. Karen is a design master, a true professional and also a great human being.
I could go on for days about this appointment. When we left there, we knew we were with the right company, that we had made the right decision to go with PLH and GCH, and we are genuinely excited about this build.

I used PLH (via Garrette Custom Homes) to build on my own land. They delivered an AMAZING home that was ON SCHEDULE!! In fact, the schedule was quicker than I had anticipated. Their processes are tight, the employees are all very professional and friendly and work very hard. The home is high quality - they do not cut corners. Oh and if you're in the Portland OR area, don't be afraid to use PLH - they manage their areas of Oregon very efficiently. My new home is even better than I imagined - they left the site super clean outside and the home was perfect inside. There are always little issues with the new homes when you move in, but with PLH there were very few issues (less than I've heard of with other builders) and the issues that they did have, they handled in a timely manner and with courtesy. I highly recommend them for building on your own land, or for their homes in neighborhoods. I went through at least 10 homes in multiple neighborhoods (not just models) and found the quality in my own home to be exactly the same. THANK YOU to PLH for a beautiful home!
Great builder and team. They made the process as easy as possible. We worked with Amy, Alan, Mitch and Paula. They were all exceptional. As can happen with builds, we ran into a few complications during construction but they quickly went back to correct what was needed and actually improved on what was originally planned. Pacific Lifestyle Homes / Garrette Custom Homes is building the Eldorado home for us on our property. Today they are putting on the trusses and will have the roof completed by next Wednesday. We are very pleased with the quality of their work and how professional they are. This company has a relationship manager that answers our questions and serves as our point of contact throughout the homebuilding process. We find this to be helpful as it gives us confidence that questions and concerns, if any, will get the attention needed. Throughout the process, so far, we have worked with a Sales Consultant, Design Studio director, Site Prep Supervisor, Construction Supervisor, and Relationship Manager. I have been impressed with each one of them. They all have experience and knowledge and have done a great job in their area of expertise as well as working with each other. If you are looking to build a new home I would highly recommend hiring Garrette Custom Homes.
This is the third new home we have owned and absolutely love it! Anyone that has built a home before understands that it can be a stressful process. Our home is on 2 acres and we chose to work with PLH because of a floor plan (Shasta XXL) we absolutely loved. The process was not without stressful moments but I will say that David Jenkins and Thom Stanton who were project leads on our home were great to work with. Sure there were things that came up, needed to be corrected but that's part of the home build process. All one can hope for is a responsive builder that wants to make sure things are done right. Thom and David exemplify this attitude! If I had to compliment the best parts of the home and process, I would say the timeline for construction, numerous design/finish options (and staff to help manage the countless options), and staff at PLH. Anyone building on their own land, I would recommend paying extra attention to grade of land, potential water drainage, and the subcontractors attention to detail. We had some challenges in each of these areas but again, Thom and David to the rescue--they have fixed everything in a very timely manner. I would recommend PLH as your home builder! Overall, very positive process.
I built my house with Pacific Lifestyle Homes in 2013 and had a great experience. Their staff was proactive and that is rare to find. Their work is quality and done on time. I only have good things to say about them and have recommended Pacific Lifestyle to many of my friends.
We're building a new home with Garrette Custom Homes on our 18 acres. Same people but homes are more custom. We had 2 bedrooms added to their Eldorado. It wiil be ready in August. So far they've been great to work with. Also big thank you to Umpqua bank for being so professional with our construction loan.
Pacific Lifestyle Homes has stepped up and corrected the issue. They did a beautiful job and handled it with great consideration of any inconvenience to us. Despite the issue, I have always felt that they build a quality home at a great price. If I was to have another home built I would definitely consider Pacific Lifestyle Homes.

I bought a brand new PLH home in Felida and love it! The customer service representative was knowledgeable, honest, and did everything possible to make my experience positive. The warranty department, run by CALVIN, was very responsive!! The quality of our home is superb and AARON, our superintendent, made sure it was built to the highest standard. We arrived at Pacific Lifestyle after a journey from Southern California, early-afternoon on a rainy day and somewhat fried from the drive. Thankfully, we found Karen a joy to work with in selecting the design & materials for our to-be new home. Helpful, without being intrusive or steering us towards options not cared for, she quickly became familiar with our tastes and answered all of our questions & concerns. The entire process was enjoyable. All the persons I dealt with were professional, courteous, helpful and always available. I was living out of state the entire time, so I relied on them for almost everything. They gave me information even before I asked for it and kept me constantly informed. I cannot recommend them enough.
We attempted to purchase a beautiful home from Pacific Lifestyle Homes, but someone else was making an offer the same day. Our offer was not even accepted, we weren t even allowed to compete or formally make the offer. No counter offer, nothing at all, just a manager accepted the other offer . They made us feel as though our offer could not be submitted formally and made kind of a big deal that we weren t going with their preferred lender. We have our own lender thank you. Further, no one called us to check with us about building or working with us at all. Simply, we accepted the other offer... goodbye. It was really odd and sad, we loved the home and they didn t give us a chance to compete for it. The PLH seller agent was sweet, but her manager not so much. Hope whatever builder we choose to work with in the future has better business practices.

Karen King at McAdam Custom Floors spent hours with us during the pandemic, physical distancing of course, and helped us choose the colors for our cabinets, flooring, paint, outside colors and countertops. She is very knowledgeable and has a keen eye for design.
I really wanted to rate them as 5 stars but a few issues with customer service led me to the 4 stars. PROS: Our salesman Ken was AWESOME, courteous, knowledgeable and made buying a lot and building a house from scratch easier than expected. I'd work with him again in a heartbeat! Our building representative Leesa was WONDERFUL, very communicative and helped out a lot. Our building supervisor Patrick was GREAT. He did a fantastic job but he was very overworked and often told us at the beginning of meetings how busy he was and that he had to do the walk-thru etc quickly. Luckily my husband and I always made sure to come to the job-site the day before so that we could take our time to slowly and carefully walk the house, jotting down notes and questions. Our first customer service contact Billy is AMAZING. He's courteous, professional and extremely kind. If it's something that he can't do, he says it with a smile (and means it too) but will try his damnest to get things right for you. The design center has LOTS of options .. (our designer was Karen!!) will work with you to select the best finishes for your home. The builder was able to move a wall in one of the bedrooms to accommodate my quilting machine. Yay! The foundation and other bones of the house are fantastic quality. The subfloors are super thick, strong and silent. The floorplan is great.
CONS: The finish work on the house aren't quite as nice as I thought they would be. The cabinet installer seemed like they were rushed and cut the trim pieces for the kitchen island incorrectly. I had to have the front door locks and the door repaired quite a few times. Just overall lack of quality attention to detail.
When I had a flood this past Father's Day the builder sent over the plumber that originally installed the plumbing. He insisted that I had a clogged toilet and that my carpet was wet because of my dogs. After I hired the water mitigation team they pulled back carpet from the closet, bedroom, part of the hallway and removed the bathroom floor tile to reveal hundreds of gallons of water damage. NOT from dogs of course. My own plumber didn't see incorrectly installed plumbing but did say that the toilet installed was the cheapest one of that brand. Luckily I had homeowners insurance to cover the damages. But I also opted to install better toilet valves to deal with the cheap toilets. When you buy a house that cost this much you expect better quality. The other con is that the home warranty department never returned my calls or emails when I said that I disagreed with their plumber that it was a clogged toilet. Radio silence!
Finally I had my 11-month review and the person sent to look over the list certainly seemed like her agenda was to figure out how many of the items would NOT be the responsibility of the builder. The biggest example of this, 4 doors in the house that didn't function properly. The exterior side garage door had to be dead-bolted otherwise it didn't engage. Small dogs could jump on the door and open it. This person closed the door from the inside and tried pulling on it and told me that her repair person would laugh at her if she put it on the list. My dad, a locksmith for 50 years, took a look, explained what was broken and the necessary repairs. When the builder's locksmith came (she'd reluctantly put in a work order) I showed him the doors ... he took a look and told me the exact same thing that my dad had said. Then he fixed them in 30 mins. I'm left thinking that the warranty that the builder espouses isn't worth as much as they think.
Bottom line, I'd build with them again, but watch them like a hawk and put all convos in writing.

My experience with Pacific Lifestyle Furniture was just wonderful and the couch itself is top notch!! The representative who helped me, Matthew, was very educated, informative and personable. He made me feel right at home the minute I walked in the door. I had a million questions... literally one million... and he spent all the time I needed helping me visualize and measure out the best options. He offered very useful recommendations for fabric and helped me determine what style of arms and base would work best for my home decor. I cannot say enough good about this company and the quality of their products - and honestly for the best price I could find anywhere! I ended up ordering a large sectional (for less than half of what I had budgeted to spend). Its so beautiful! Exceptional quality and customized to exactly what I wanted. AND delivered ahead of schedule! Even the delivery guys were exceptionally polite, professional and very careful. They made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it before they left. I can't say enough good about this place and highly recommend this company! Thank you for an exceptional experience from start to finish!!

The homes have great Curb appeal they are stunning on the inside and out. They do a nice job with the basic package for the house that you would be quite happy with out any of the upgrades. The basic package has some very nice touches that are Considered upgrades to most companies.
Gina is a great Realtor who if vary helpfully when it comes to helping you find out how to get what you need done for the house. She Listens to what you have to say and makes very helpful suggestions. If you have a question that she doesn't know the answer to she will get back to you in a bay or 2 with the answer.
Our designer was Karen King from the Pacific Lifestyle Homes Design Studio showroom. From beginning to end Karen was there for us, answering endless questions, offering her designer opinions and guiding us through a long and very productive day. They work on a strict appointment schedule so your entire appointment time is spent uninterrupted. Always professional and friendly, Karen worked very hard to help keep us on budget. There was never any pressure to buy things we shouldn t, in fact quite the opposite -she supplied us with all the options and costs for our decisions. We had no idea how much was involved in this process. The hundreds of figures she looked up, calculated, changed, recalculated and tallied was accomplished always with a smile.
Karen has a real eye for design. We showed her photos of what we liked and she immediately knew what would work for us. She helped us select cabinets, granite, tile, paint colors, carpet, sinks, fixtures, lighting....everything! In the end, we left exhausted but completely confident and excited about our choices.
