Based on the service of the employees: Poor. When we are the only flight there we shouldn't have to wait 45 minutes for our checked bags.
The airport seemed clean however.

Flew allegiant home from Orlando. We missed that the flight left from Orlando Sanford airport.. Went to primary airport first and had to pay 100 for cab to Sanford. I called the airport forty minutes before my flight and told them we'd be there about fifteen minutes before flight time. Mistakenly thought that person would call the gate. Nope... . Got to airport twenty minutes early.. Asked the allegiant baggage counter employee at the curb to let the gate know.... We got to the gate at fourteen minutes before flight time. Employee there told us she shut the door at 345 and can't open it again. The clock behind her said 346. Omg! Three chances for customers service. Three fails. Then the supervisor casually strolled to the gate while our plane sat... Same story... Didn't try to call the captain. Nothing. 0 for 4 on customer service. Supervisor then left and we lost him. We had to get ourselves to the ticket counter and waited fifteen minutes for supervisor to shown up. He gave us the "I called my manager" story and offered to get us on the next flight.... Four days later.... This is ridiculous.... It's now 90 minutes later and I'm still at the airport waiting for the 'supervisor' so I can contact a professional airline and get home.. I'm usually a fan of the low cost airlines, but not when the employees treat customers like this. No way I'd recommend this airline or airport.
Small but nice - Orlando Sanford is a good airport, good parking options, checking my bag was easy enough, security was smooth. Couple things could be slightly improved - food choices past security could use a little work, a Starbucks on the air side in particular would be much appreciated, and the wifi was more or less unusable (not surprising, few airports do really well with it but this was bad). If you're flying early in the morning don't be surprised if this airport is pretty crowded/busy - just because it's a smaller regional airport does not mean it will be empty.
Easy, small airport to fly into and out of. Esp easy if you are traveling on the East coast. The Interstate is not far away. Rental cars are a block away. Drop off of rentel is super easy an close to the airport entrance. Love this airport, we use it at least 4-5 tines a year.
Got off the plane one of the first off and no signs telling us where to go no one to point the way it was a very long walk and the place was empty. I don't see why they couldn't put us closer then they did but I think allegiant air gets the bottom of the barrel most of the time. Then the baggage took 45 minutes to come out a lot of people were complaining about it.
Only four stars because the departure terminal is very dated. The seating looks like it s second-hand. Security lines are not long and if you pick the right rental car company (we used Enterprise), you can pick up and drop off your rental vehicle at the airport and not have to travel far. It s a walk out the door and you re there.
Great airport! It's size makes it easier and faster to catch your flight.
I think most turtles move faster than your wifi. Took me 10 min just to write this review...
two guys in jeans just walk back and forth and harass people for parking to pick someone up. I literally saw someone pull up and this guy with a walkie talkie was nervously pacing because there was not a person approaching the car he walked right up and asked them to move in that time, the person who just flew in was at the car. literally 25 seconds and they were on this person to move. then it happened to me. ridiculous. maybe have some helpful people to direct traffic or something.
It was 730 PM on a Saturday and there wasn't a place open to eat or drink (only two other flights coming in tonight, I guess that's why). I did manage to find a soda vending machine upstairs but that was all. There also isn't anywhere in the main area to charge your phone except for one outlet in the middle of baggage claim... Really!??
Though its 45 minute drive for me its worth it. Easy boarding, quick pick up , haven't experienced no delays. I fly Allegiant they have had great prices. I generally pack snacks
This airport is a mess right now and it proves to be a little difficult getting to the right place. Not many staff to help you. My advice would be to show up early to make sure you make it on time.
This is the worst airport I've ever been to! Allegiant Air put in months of effort and finally found a way to make air travel worse. They have iPads do check your bag in, but they don't actually do anything. You still have to wait in line forever. Then when we got to the counter they were rude as can be.
The airport WiFi doesn't work either.
Went to the Lockheed Martin Air Show. Show was great but food & drink prices were very very very high!
Great little airport that some of the smaller operators fly into. In particular, Allegient can offer amazingly cheap flights to certain similar airports.
Rudest TSA I have ever encountered in my entire life and I have traveled around the world. Will definitely pay the extra to be treated like a human being and go through MCO if I ever return to Orlando.
I had pulled up the wrong ticket info on my phone. Alligiant personal that helped me check in was very courteous and friendly and showed me where to go on my phone and which part of the ticket needed to be pulled up. Kudos Alligent. Wish I remembered her name!
The carelessness of the TSA workers caused my phone screen to shatter. The way they shove the bins through the machine caused other items in the bin to fall onto my phone. I filed a claim, but it will likely not yield any result.
What a way to end a vacation.
Just got back all souvenirs smashed to pieces and even saw the bag handler throwing the cases on the belt and floor not very professional at all
Let my kids fly for the first time this summer and "customer service manager" Alena is horrible. She doesn't seem to have a clue about customer service nor does she seem to have a clue about how to be a manager. I got to the airport about 45 minutes before their flight was supposed to land and the woman had the nerve to tell me I couldn't get a pass to wait for them at the gate because they stopped giving passes 30 minutes before the flight closed she also proceeded to tell me that I didn't seem to have a problem letting my kids fly alone so she didn't understand what the problem was. The difference is that they are in enclosed area with a limited amount of people, not wandering around the airport with hundreds to thousands of people. Needless to say I will not be using Allegiant Air or Orlando Sanford airport again and I will be filing a complaint with her manager.
Traveling a couple days before the holiday is a mistake. We purposely fly out of Sanford,Orlando airport due to less people and lines. I realize it s great for business but they need more signage and if you have people directing travelers- gotta be kind. Also, keep travelers in lines and stick to it. Kick travelers out if out of line and making a scene.
small airport; drive slowly (and stop at stop signs) near guest drop-off area; parking is not bad in the morning; airport staff was friendly and helpful for the most part
Small airport so check in, security and car rental was all really quick. Everyone was friendly, everything was clean.
This airport needs serious makeover!!
Look like Rural part of USA- international airport!
Someone arriving from civilized part of the world, could be seriously concern about the quality of their stay, taking under consideration that this is second international airport by major tourist destination!!! Where billions of dollars are being spent!
No decent place to have a meal while waiting for delayed flight- only one poor quality restaurant (if you can call it restaurant).
Easy in and out but confusing about car rental returns
Very convenient to fly of our Orlando to smaller airports like Greenville, Asheville, etc...
Way quicker security checks and in/out versus Orlando International Airport.
Not tons of food options by they have a Starbucks now.
They need more outlets/charging stations around the gates. Very tough to charge any portable devices with the limited outlets.
Put us on a plane they never intended to use. It leaned to port because of a flat tire. While boarding, I noticed the age of the plane and how it had corroded rivets. So, we all board and after we are aboard and time to taxi out, they shut down the engines. We get off the plane and wait for the real plane to be pulled over. We board that and taxi out. As the plane hits the runway and powers up, they back off of the throttle because an oil gauge goes to zero. Maintenance forgot to tighten an oil line so back we go. We finally get off the ground and do they even offer a free drink? Nothing but an apology. 8 hour ordeal. Never again.
Always great to get such cheap flights, but the airport is under construction.
The checking baggage organization in this airport is horrible. Its never taken me over an hour to just check my bags. On top of that they are confusing because there is a long roped line but keep hollaring namea then u have to crawl under ropes through the crowd with ur suitcases
SFB is an excellent alternative to MCO, Orlando Int'l Airport. There's far less congestion, fewer flights, and less of a rush.. people care here because they have the time to treat you like a human. Parking's both cheaper and closer to the gate.
i evacuated for hurricane dorian it was th worst the plane had bad engine problems we almost crashed it was flight 1365 to CVG but the snacks were great the crew was awsome!!!!!
A great airport with perfect service and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Pros: Smaller Airport. Fast to get baggage and go through security. Charging stations available. Cleanliness is decent.
Cons: Staff with one exception was unpleasant in every area but the Hudson News stand. Chairs are noisy and uncomfortable. Only terminal B services/food was open, presumably because there were no flights out of the A terminal anytime near 10am leaving minimal options. Also Starbucks is before you walk through security so plan accordingly for your pre-plane java.
Simple = Yes (both good and bad)
Faster = Yes
Better = Cheaper, not better.
Love this airport! So convenient and not as congested as Orlando.
Went to the Trump Rally. It was well organized easy in and out. Well policed. Go Trump 2020.
I do not like the outlay of this airport. You have to take a train to your terminal. They seem to have more food options than most airports. I didn't stay long enough to see everything.
One of my favorite smaller airports, I used to fly once a month from there, park, go thru security and to the gate in less than 20 mins !!
Everyone is nice and friendly.
I lived 10 mins from Orlando international airport but would always drive 40 mins to Sanford simply to avoid the long wait times.
If ur coming to Orlando I highly recommend this airport.
Easy to access staff are friendly a bit expensive esp food. Really clean. Plenty of seats.
Absolutely great experience. Helpful friendly employees. Nice bar tenders. Great flight experience. Thanks to Everyone! Looking forward to flying again form their and useing Allegiance
Terrible TSA staff who do not have a clue of how to handle passengers. Looks poorly trained. TSAPre queue is usually messed up most of the time and if you ask they raise their voices as if they are talking to criminals. Horrible airport. MCO is much much better.
This place sucks. The City sucks. I hate this place
I have flown out of here before early in the morning not too bad. Today is an afternoon flight.only 2 people checking in 3 flights. Stood in line FOREVER! They finally had more people come over after an hour and a half to help. Food Court was closed it was NOON?! The only restaurant open only had 1 person working. 1 person working at Hudsons. Line was ridiculous! I am not a pampered princess but what a start to our vacation! Aggravated and Hangry! Will reconsider doing this again!
Been working out here laying grass . very nice airport in Orlando.
This place is so nice and it is way less busy next to the other airport in Orlando. We flew out of SFB and into the other airport and were so surprised to see how much better of an experience we had. They also have a Disney gift shop so it's perfect if need maybe just one more souvenir!
Fly SFB!! This airport is so much easier than MCO. Not too far away from town, only 30ish minutes. Plenty of rental car options and plenty of in terminal amenities to choose from!
Love the new water faucets.... Soap, water and air dry all in one!
Not a big airport easy to find your way around car rentals within yards of terminal buses there as well..easy to get though immigration..it's my choice when going to North Florida or orlando.its a no hassle airport really good staff very helpful
Very unorganized, rude staff, and very expensive food.
This airport is bad ! I've been in check- in for an hour on priority checkin and the line won't move. They claim they are simpler, faster, and better but they're terrible, slower, and just bad. The location sucks (there's no major highway) and There's a lot of rednecks... But yeah if you go on priority you won't move
Warning. They changed the parking lot closest to terminals! It's now daily instead of economy!! Don't Make the 100.00 mistake I made coming from Red Cleveland road!
Signage is poor.
5am and No Signs! Ugh, small airport yes but confusing as hell. I couldn't find any info on my boarding pass about the terminal (a or b), I saw some Alegent signs so went to a, after security check in, I was lost. No info signs, I had to ask a lady at hudson news. She said go out the exit/baggage claim door, to get to terminal b (it looked like exit, but wasn't) Only 1 electronic boards with all the flights, found my gate. It's too early to guess where to go. I saw a lady alos searching for info terminal b, I gave her the info.
A smaller airport great for getting away from the larger crowds in Orlando. The Cheeseburger Express gets a two out of five for a meaty but bland burger. The food prices are typically high for any given airport. The eating area was filthy. The tables and floors hadn t been wiped down or mopped in a while. No one appeared to be on staff to clean it. The flight boarding areas were pretty dirty as well. No deep clean in a long time. The seats near the cell phone charging ports were nothing less than filthy. All that being said, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Hi, I love to take them Florida vacations. I take a lot of everything there Augusto and I come to Orlando Sanford International Airport. The man at the information room was great. The Orlando Sanford Airport was large and beautiful.
Orlando sanford international airport. I hate it's name. It's confusing Orlando International Airport. I booked flight to this airport & car rental to other airport. I wish they remove "Orlando" part from this airport"s name.
Should be back up to great after construction is done
Security is quick and Allegiant flights are very reasonable.
Angel from Airport Authority is amazing. We made a mistake on our flight and he worked so hard to help us solve our situation and wanted to give him a HUGE shout out !!!
Nice airport and great option to overcrowded Orlando. They just need some flights! No longer an international airport.
Very poor TUI check-in 3 people checking in 48 premium seats and 1 lady doing the rest of the plane now and then one of the 3 would finish drinking there drink and call over one of the massive queue
This airport is convenient for those who live in Volusia and Seminole county. It s a small airport and it offers the basic services you will need. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Security is at its best but quick hassle free beats orlando International any day
Was a wonderful experience! Everyone was friendly, efficient, and watched out for my safety. My flight left on time and arrived early. We practiced social distancing on the plane.
TSA staff extremely rude, terrible service. Expect to be very held up with additional screenings, I will never be flying with this airport again after the abysmal experience I've had today, it is absolutely worth flying somewhere farther away and driving to your destination. my only regret in writing this review is that I'm forced to give them one star instead of zer .
Efficient and if you have the time to look around before flight or after arriving, then they have a very huge preserved alligator in an aquarium near rental car area. Friendly people there.
Is no fun waiting for your arriving guests in 105 degrees weather outside Sanford International Airport. Not recommending this airport to anyone
Everything flowed pretty smoothly. I didn't spend much time here looking around due to the fact that I got here a little later then expected. Thanks cousin! The TSA agents that I had contact with were nice as well as the airport staff. I would recommend getting here at least 45 minutes before your flight to get through security.
About 2 years ago they accused me of being a taxi driver. They tresspassed me. My family members are no longer going to go to this airport anymore
The small airports aren't usually the most efficient but this was the most chaotic airport I've ever been in. The TSA agents are not consistent with other TSA at larger airports. They've seemed to adapt their own set of rules as far as what does and doesn't go. The lines were so backed up. Only two people were checking ID's and tickets. The TSA agent was checking everyone's bucket BEFORE it slid thru the screening on the conveyor belt. Eat before you get there as the food options were basically non-existent. The food prices at the market stands were ridiculous $10 for a cold sandwich. The fast food restaurant wait time was horrible. Will not fly from there again.
