The first parking lot is still under construction and does not have a ramp to be able to climb the bags. The first 15 minutes are free, but it's almost impossible since you have to walk a lot from the parking lot to terminal B. At 20 minutes it's $ 2. I went to leave someone, and it took me more than 20 minutes, I ended up paying $ 4 ... which is pretty good.
They have no smoking area? While walking through the only wax they have to get from the parking lot to the terminal, I had to go through 5 sections full of cigarette smoke.
I did "check-in online" so I supposed the process was faster, but no. The i-pads that have to re-check-in have a poorly updated system and is not fast or convenient. Then we had to make another regular line to leave the suitcase. They should have a special line for people who have already checked in online. The employees are too slow. If you go an hour before the flight, I don't think it gives you time to wait for the slow and poorly updated airport system. We arrived 2 hours before and the passenger was anxious thinking that he would miss the flight. The only good thing are flight prices. But, as they say out there, you will receive what you pay for. If you want to go through priority and move forward 5 minutes, pay it when you buy the ticket.
I recommend that you go at least 3 hours before.

Bottled water is $5 and there's no water sprinklers. Consider when flying with children.

Upon arrival, Thursday, Oct, 13th, they tried forcing us to use only their taxi service even after a family member from Ocala had arranged pickup. The lady with security told us we would have to go off the property to ride with our arranged driver. It was an awful experience. We did pay the monopolized taxi service $20 to take us one mile off the property in order to meet our arranged driver. The monopoly they have running in that airport is certainly not "Free Trade" America claims to have, and if an airport is getting any federal funds, they are not supposed to be able to close taxi services or dictate whom customers use for departing the airport.

If that wasn't terrible enough going through late Thursday night with 2 children under 10, going back through on Sunday was not much better.
I assume being a blonde from Tennessee with an 8 year old gives off a bad vibe and I was picked to be patted down, then my luggage, which had passed through the Chattanooga airport the Thursday prior, was put on high alert and looked through. When the complete idiot went through my bag and asked if I had any weapons in the bag, which I stated not that I was aware, she pulled out my bottle of Suave Dry Shampoo and looked at me as though I had lied to her because Suave Dry Shampoo must be considered a weapon. Then she took my jar of coconut oil cream and rolled her eyes asking if I just didn't read what was allowed and not allowed. At that point I started laughing because no one could be that stupid to think a half used jar of coconut oil cream was hazard material.. Well apparently what Chattanooga felt was safe, Sanford did not and I had to surrender my property.
Of all the airports I've been through; Hawaii, LAX, BNA, New York, etc, Sanford was the worst experience and I will not be departing or arriving at that location ever again.

Very nice staff very helpful helping me get my cases to be of the right weight, very quick and easy and nice staff.

Even though this is the smaller Orlando airport, it was the only one that would fly to the airport we were at, so we went here. It was a really nice airport when we got here.

TSA agents were the rudest people! Would review them personally if that was an option. If I were in charge of their performance evals I would fire them on the spot. Just pay the extra money to fly out of ANY other Florida airport.

Compared to the Kansas City airport Sanford airport is the Best! Lots of room and friendly employees. Snacks are expensive but at least this airport had them. Slim pickings at the KC, MO.!

It's a big airport. It seems to run smoothly. Auto rentals are scattered all over and way in and out make no sense.

Great venue for the Trump speech. Security was thereto keep everyone safe. I like using this airport as it is always quick n and out.

It's a cluster to get in here and pick someone up. Although my son said TSA was very quick to get through.

Easy in and out. People are friendly and helpful. I will use this airport everytime I go to Orlando area.

This is a small airport, not much to do for a 4 hour wait prior to departing to fly back to Newcastle Airport. The cafe/restaurant is very expensive and my fries were just warm not hot. The Wi-Fi isn't too strong but adequate. The departure lounge area needs updating in my estimation but after 19 years of flying to Orlando, I'm used to it. Staff are friendly on checking in but be aware that if your cases weigh 70 kilos total, make sure you share the case weight to approximately 23.3 kilos each and NOT 25 kilo x 2 cases and one case 20 kilos like me. Very embarrassing to say the least.

Too bad I couldnt go lower than 1 star. We arrived approximately an hour before our flight. The Orlando Sanford Airport is quite small so an hour prior to take off was enough time to get checked in. Unless you have to deal with their staff. Betsy and Janeek who were at the Allegiant Air desk. Those two along with their supervisor, i think his name is Sebastian, has put a bad taste in my mouth similar to the taste of sewer water, rotted cheese and spoiled milk. Upon arrival, Betsy would not let me go forward to the check in counter with my two young sons saying that the check in counter closed 45 minutes prior and that boarding has ended (it hadnt). We eventually got to the counter just in time to deal with the piece of artwork named Janeek. And by art I mean kindergarten graffiti. She was the rudest, most disrespectful female I have ever come across. To call herself customer service makes the terms obsolete. Poor, poor woman. As we say in the south, "bless her heart". Then the supervisor, Sebastian, decides to come out. I'll save my breath and say I'm not sure what he had to do to get a supervisor position, but he must be pretty good at it.
Oh... and Allegiant Air charged us $600 for which was 3 times more than what it should've been for us to change a flight time. All in all, do yourself a favor and take a chance on hitchhiking instead of dealing with the Orlando Sanford Airport or Allegiant Air. THAT IS ALL!

This is NOT the Orlando International Airport. (Yes, if I had been looking at Google Maps when I was making travel plans I would have figured that out - so you are already one ahead of me.) When navigating the gates for return flight, layout was confusing (even for a small airport) and staff were spectacularly unhelpful and mostly indifferent. Signage that had been moved around (so that arrows pointed off in random directions) was not a big plus either. If your bargain airline brings you through here, OK, but allow extra time to figure out the lay of the land - and bring your "I'm getting a deal" outlook along with you - the mediocre bargain-fare service does not end (or start) with the airline staff.

Good airport, lots of construction going on when went through.

I just went through Sanford airport and after reading all the negative remarks I am shocked . It was awesome ! If you are looking for a home away from home at the airport you will be disappointed. It is an airport . No sit down restaurants But I wasn t looking for one . It s an airport. Starbucks , neat store to buy small things , Clean. I was impressed . Went through baggage pick up and rental car in a breeze. Will travel that airport again without hesitation .

If you fly out on the weekends, then customer service should be open on the weekends..Plus you should offer shuttle service to the theme parks

I picked my Husband up there. It was my first time at Sanford International Airport. Location was easy to find, airport small so pick up was a breeze because Arrivals and Departures are in the same area.

Don't make you go through all the bullshit in Rochester but want you to check carry on a on the way back. Have fun ripping people off Allegany last time I take your flight

The experience was a lesson to be non desired. Total confusion to find your destination for the flight.

On Friday Feb 28th we flew into Sanford for a 2 hr layover at 6pm.
Extremely COLD! I had 2 coats on & jeans & tennis shoes- I was still shaking. Mom's & kids were under blankets. People had their winter jackets on in your terminal.
Also at 6pm only food was Cheesburger Express & Cinnabon. I have glutton issues. Burger place was all out of salads. Other terminal had a real restaurant & a food court & those were shut down also. Also Bar next to cinnabon told us their kitchen was closed, but we could have a drink- great we can get drunk but NOT EAT DECENT FOOD!.
REALLY 6PM & YOU HAVE NO FOOD FOR PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL EATING RESTRICTIONS.... VERY UNIMPRESSED.
Please work on making your airport better for everyone.

The good. A lot of immigration officers compared to other airports. Car rental across the street. Only two small terminals. Good airport for fast travel or with kids. It is 35 minutes from traditional Orlando international airport. But if you consider the car rental drop time + walking halls + crowded. It is worth the time to come here. The bad. Only two not so good food shops. Traveling with Internet Orlando - Mexico. Check inn service standard.

Had a hassle getting to Puerto Rico in September but whatever it's normal service.

Has to be the worst airport experience I have ever had.... all staff and security are extremely rude and disrespect.

Just a nice little hassle free airport.

Travelling domestically can often be a challenge when trying to find an airport near your destination if it happens to be off the beaten path for normal high volume air travel. That's where smaller airports like the Orlando Sanford Airport fills the gap. It's in the greater Orlando area but does not have the problems associated with an international airport like Orlando's MCO. Orlando Sanford is easy to get in and out of, especially if you are dropping off a handicap person, as I was, who may be travelling alone. The food court is located next to the baggage claim, which is novel and very helpful for people who need something to eat when they land. The big airline that flies here is Allegiant. They are very efficient and have always taken very good care of my sister who often goes to visit friends in a small town in southern Missouri. Check out this airport if you are interested in traveling domestically in style without all the hassle.

I always like this little airport. However since going through there recently and with the way things are especially now, I can only give them a 3 star instead of a 4 or 5. In the ladies room there is no hot water when you wash your hands. That is not good. They need to step up their safety measures on that.

Allegiant Airways Is it a specialized airport?
Airport that takes an hour from Florida by car.

After 20 minutes we decided to walk to the car in the parking (area H) lot. We made it to the my car and I say the shuttle bus (empty) in the parking lot. We should have use a wheel chair for my wife. At was a good hike we her two knees (replacements). No happy with the shuttle situation. All else was good.

Jerk offs for employees and not much of an airport at all

Even with the construction going on, the airport was very clean.

This airport is best avoided. The general grumpiness of everyone that works here, that we encountered, was staggering. TSA checkpoint folks need some coffee, some sunshine, or something because with the exception of the pre-check guy, and the woman checking boarding passes, the rest of them were on the bottom rung of TSA. It wasn t just TSA though, the rental car folks, the janitorial staff, everyone seemed like they were rather be anywhere else but at this Airport. Cheer up Sanford!

Small airport but you still need to be there 2 hours early. It s well organized and managed! Easy to navigate with plenty of helpful employees to assist you! I am impressed with this airport.

My flight was on time, but a tsa agent took my
EMPTY water bottle (clear bottle, obviously empty), so I had to spend $6 on a water bottle past security. The very few food options were horrible. It s also in an inconvenient location.

My mum fly's into this airport from England by herself and prefers this little airport. She loves it!

One of the easiest airports to get in and out of. Wish more airlines flew here.

Little wait, fast service great flight minus the extended wait of about 25 minutes before take off happened at 8:15 vs 7:45.

Missed my flight today solely due to the poor design and lack of responsible qualified employees. Will never attempt to fly out of this mom and pop airport ever again!

Just about every restaurant was closed when we got here. I know security is very serious but several of the TSA agents were unnecessarily rude compared to our airport back home. I watched them be pretty impatient with a much older gentleman. One of them made a rude side comment to another about a patron. That s not really fair. Not my airport of choice.

Jammed with people during the day. Little to no customer service early evening or night.

If you're leaving from here I would highly recommend checking the flight times of other flights the same day. Allegiant is 90% of all flights from Sanford and for some reason they love to stack all the flights right on top of eachother. For example, I arrived for a flight 2 hours early and there were 8+ flights going out the same hour as my flight.

The line for checking bags was astronomically long. They know they have 8 flights worth of people trying to check bags at the same time and only have 2-3 people checking bags. I very nearly missed my flight.

I give 3 stars because if you're not checking a bag, TSA was painless and fast compared to baggage check. Overall, it's not a bad place to fly if you're only taking carry-ons. If you need to check a bag, show up 3 hours early or you might be too late.

Excellent airport. Much less busy than Orlando International. Great staff. Great runways. The air traffic control staff is awesome. Awesome location. Great FBO.

I prefer this one to MCO, if only they had better Uber/Lyft service

Rude check in staff at desk. Came as a surprise to me that someone who sits on their bottom all day and gets paid for it could be so unfriendly.

Didn t catch her name but the African American receptionist could use some customer service training.

Also, no ice for fountain drinks? Priority Pass - you can do better!

Easy in and easy out airport. Waiting on a flight the seating can be tight and the AC was not very good when I was there last week

A whole star is being generous. Unorganized, low budget, filthy...Never again.

It was a pretty easy airport to get through people were pretty nice and we didn t have many issues. Other than that going through TSA was most of the nightmare because when you have a one year old In the stroller and the Spanish lady says rudely take him out and you go to take him out and not even 3 seconds after she comes back and rudely tells you again that I need to get him out as I m picking him up will tend to make you mad because she was so rude about it. And when it s just my son and I it s gonna be as fast as I can manage him and fold the stroller when you have no other help and no one with you. Even the guy had to apologize for her which is so sad. But other than that everything was pretty good and the flight was on time.

Love flying Allegiant, Sanford Airport is currently under renovation. The staff and crews are so patient and helpful. Too bad some of the flyers are not so patient.

Only three people working check in, not enough.
Duty free was very poor too. Alcohol not any cheaper than at home.
Cigarettes obviously were *lots* cheaper than UK.
I don't smoke tho.

The connection to Miami was delayed because, when you fly internationally, they make you come out of the plane, pass immigration and then go back to the very same plane! Immigration was very very slow! Not sure they will have us skip immigration once in Miami, so what's the point?

Didn't like my experience coming here. But hey. You live and you learn. I dont think I would ever go back here. There is horrible parking, and you only can stop for like five seconds. Hardly anyone use this airport. I only use it for convenience. MCO is the place to be or fly in...

I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews on this airport. We had no trouble returning our rental car or getting through TSA. The annoying part was that terminal B was under construction and over crowded. There were so many people in the gate areas at the same time that it was very uncomfortable and claustrophobic. There was a lady standing on top of me when I was sitting in the gate area. I had to leave to get some air, I couldn't take the crush of people. All of the allegiant flights were leaving about the same time. Our flight was delayed an hour so we sat through the crush of people as all of the other planes loaded. Also, the gate agents had the microphones right in their mouths when announcements were made. It was painful to listen to and unintelligible. I'm a teacher so I'm used to loud annoying announcements but this was over the top. The crowding and the announcements made the experience very unpleasant. The actual flight was great.

What a joke of an airport. Paid $50 for overflow parking. Felt like we were pulling up to a barn dance in high school. Rainy, muddy, dressed up with good luggage dragging it through water. Not only that but the overflow parking wasn t even marked with good signs had to drive around the airport twice to find it. I cannot believe some airport manager has a job here.

Awful airport. Always under construction. Had an 8:11 PM flight, no one serves food after 6. Don t come hungry! Only reason I gave two stars was because at least the bar was open.

We got totally ripped off by the parking garage. it said we checked into the parking garage in an hour before we actually did and charged us extra.
