Midland/Odessa Int'l Airport Review

Beautiful facility but the absolute slowest bag delivery I've ever experienced ... and I've had this experience here twice. I don't usually check a bag when flying here, and will try to avoid it in the future. It took almost one hour to deliver the checked bags of our ~80 passenger plane. Pathetic.

Due to the COVID19, most of the stores are closed. Hopefully things will open completely up soon

It's clean quiet airport. The plane are though not as good as other plane in other places. However it all depend on the amount of money you put into.

Great little airport. Always easy to get through security and to your gate. Clean in every way. Could use a little better dining options though.
Rental returns are a breeze too.

Lots of work going on but ATC still friendly and effecient get everyone in, out and around.

It is typically difficult when dealing with a rental car at this airport since they are open limited hours. Security is always a challenge for such a small airport.

Nice, small airport. But needs a Starbucks, I dint drink coffee often, but when I do, I'm at a airport ;)

Smaller airport. Easy to get around. Everything clearly marked. Clean surroundings.

I absolutely LOVE the staff who checks your baggage and gives you your boarding pass at Southwest! There are always so genuinely sweet. They are the first ones you see and deal with, so kuddos to really starting off a great impression. TSA on the other hand. ..y'all need some work. Why be rude? There is no, "good morning" , "Hello" "Thank you".. .. it was really upsetting. Work on yourselves please!

GET SOME DAMN LUGGAGE CARTS AT BAGGAGE CLAIM!!! Crappy middle of nowhere airport.

The reason Midland doesn't have baggage carts is you can arrive, go get your car, pull it up to the curb, leave the car running, open the passenger door, go in and get your luggage and/or passenger, come back, and your wallet will still be laying on the dashboard. Unlike some places people live.

For our airport being an international air port it's not very big but easy accessible. Very busy airport .nice very clean .friendly personal. Everyone helpful . Few nice eating and drinking places . Only thing needs attention is the parking . Which I hope is being worked on

I've been flying in and out of this airport now for a little over 2 years. My biggest complaint with the airport is the rental car lot. All the rental companies are mixed together in the same lot. When I say mixed together I mean there are 10 stalls for Hertz and then 10 stalls for National, and then 10 stalls for Avis, etc, etc. Then it all starts over again. When you pick your keys up they tell you what stall your car is in, but when you are walking down the sidewalk you can only see about half the signs marking the stalls. The easiest way to find your car is to set off the panic alarm, but usually there are a number of renters doing this so it doesn't always work. Its very common to see people walking aimlessly walking about the parking area looking for their car. There is plenty of empty land around the airport to build a nice rental car plaza so there is no excuse for this setup. Also the WIFI in the terminal has not seemed to work at all for at least a year.

My lovely lady was privately screened by airport security for having a bow on her dress,that was the reason they gave us and she may be carrying explosives.Two female airport securityguards walked her into a room and made her strip,was frisked by both security guards one of whom had a large tattoo on her forearm, and my lovely lady was subjected to a body cavity examination gloves and all even tho they found no wiring or explosive charges in the dress or her undergarments and after she was deemed by security not to be a terrorist she released.We flew to Odessa Tx.for a wedding,after the wedding we returned to the airport to go home and was subjected to a jailhouse welcome but now we have returned home safely but it's going to be a rough day. Unbelievably rude staff, one short brunette girl in particular, at the Market Fresh. Incompetent + bad attitude = needs fired.

Midland international airport one of the greatest airports it is really small airport and really organized and almost all people work there are high educated people the treat you with respect and do everything to make you happy my flight was from Houston to midland it was really smoth and fast flight

United Airlines employee here is the absolute worst I've ever seen. They delayed our flight 3 times! I will end up cancelling all my United affiliates over this. Absolutely no customer service. Just holding us hostage in effin Midland, Tx for 6 hours

Small airport. Very easy for car rental. Expedited security for TSA precheck, but I still had to remove liquids, laptop etc.

Nice little airport. Security was smooth and efficient. Gates are easy to find.

Waiting forever for my bags right now. It s been 25 minutes at least since I got to baggage claim and were the only plane landed in the airport. Not sure what the problem is - the claim hasn t even started rotating. It s 12:35 am and I would liked to have been home by now. There were Uber s before, hopefully there are still some by the time my bags get here.

One set of washrooms is closed, the other set is out of toilet paper at 944 in the morning. Seriously?

Need to be more specific on age requirements and on disabled children.

Gates do not show updated fight information, that would be especially helpful when flights are delayed. General airport staff are not at acceptable service typically expected at larger airports. One place to get food, that's it...

Not as busy as most airports, which is nice. Got here on time. Great staff.

I enjoyed my experience here, everything is quick accessible. The baggage claim and rental car area. I thought the security line wasn't bad, it's your typical small airport process. Probably don't have many TSA staff, but I felt it was decent for the size of the airport. The staff seem to be friendly and outgoing.

Living five hours away from anything in Midland, weekend trips are clutch. If it's not a holiday weekend, you can expect to clear security in under 2 minutes, and the TSA people don't act like jerks.

Ridiculous lines for rental cars. No one taking care of business. Usually I fly through Lubbock and decided to try Midland this time. I will never make that mistake again. Airport manager you need to intervene. This is YOUR problem.

There is one security check point being manned by the TSA agent who was fired from Denny's for being too slow bringing out the meals. There's a TSA Pre-check banner but no Pre-check available. All the passengers for the two flights leaving for the day arrived at security at the same time and I found myself waiting to get through security longer than my last trip through JFK. Did I mention we have TSA Pre-check, which was sold by DHS as a rapid and efficient system for getting through airport security? On the bright side, I got to hear all about the trip the two nice older women in front of me got to take with "Susan and Mimi".

A random place for a surprisingly excellent burger. Try Market Fresh.

Sseving midland-odessa with a combined population of over 300k (US Census 2010 and estimates), the parking here is afforadble. I would recommend the shaded (covered) parking during the winter to avoid overheating the interior of your car.

Nothing particular stands out in the inside

TSA there is kind of sketchy (act like they are all fixing to quit and go work for the oil field) but the airport is always clean, easy to navigate and never have issues with the staff.

As far as international airports go, this airport is not impressive... There is only one terminal with a limited choice of restaurants and stores. Seating can be limited from time to time in the terminal when there is delayed flights; I would dread having to wait here longer than I am expected to.

One great thing is the efficiency of the TSA/ security check - the number of times I have come through the airport security have been quick and staff is extremely professional. This is probably the best way about this airport.

Rude and ignorant the plane had just arrived to Houston airport, we waited 30 mins or so, wouldnt let me use the restroom, even though we were just sitting in a parking lot and i have a weak bladder! Very rude!!!

Getting in and out of this small airport is as easy as it gets in this day and age.

I knew this was a small airport, but OMG nothing could have prepared me. It is tiny! Everything on the plane was fine, but the airport didn't have any good restaurants and they must be short on money because there were hardly any signs. We were so lost in this tiny airport.

Outstanding little airport!! Friendly employees, good food options, gift shop, and good parking options now.

Girl at check-in counter had no clue what was going on. She admitted not to being a ticket agent. Hope my bags get home.

Great customer service! Our first flight was delayed, leaving us with a short amount of time to catch our connecting flight. The airline representative that we spoke to was very helpful in making sure we were able to make our flight!!!

Love, love this airport! It's so small that you're in and out within a few minutes. It's very clean, there are no long lines, courteous staff. I have no complains at all. I could only wish that every airport was like this one!!

No issues when I used it, but why aren't there cheap flights to Dallas? Not enough big airlines fly into here.

This airport does not have a premium passenger line through security. It does not have a separate TSA Pre-Check line either. Avoid this airport at all costs if you are a frequent traveler. It is hard to believe a business-oriented airport doesn't have these basic features.

Extremely nice, all of the TSA folks were very helpful and understanding.

The airport seems pretty clean, but I'm here at 7pm (most people eat around this time), there are about 150 people in here and thw re is only one place open to eat at. Oh, and they are OUT OF FOOD. This place is aweful...

Birds in terminal. Not super busy. Helpful staff and security.

United was short staffed when I was traveling through here, but they went as quick and efficiently as they could. Security was very courteous and smooth but quick. Nice place to fly into or out of.

Not very crowded. Departing flights were about 2/3 full or less. All staff friendly and efficient.

Very small airport in the middle of small towns. All shops were closes by 7pm on Sunday. Don't expect to get food here. People here were friendly though even the security agents. The place is clean. Not very crowded either.

The most inefficiant airport I have ever experienced. 1 checking agent, 1 security line and the line is backing up on the escalator because there is no where for anyone to go. 5:05 am flight took an hour to get through security with only 3 planes leaving.

Midland used to have a TSA Precheck security line. They got rid of it so if you re precheck expect a security wait. Mine today (mid-day on a Thursday) was 30 minutes.

Everyone is extremely friendly. Only takes a few minutes to get through the TSA.

Tiny airport so easy to navigate but staff is not helpful.

Midland international Air & Space Airport does an excelent job at handling the Manny visitors the city gets lately driven by the Permian oil and gas boom.

While small, the airport manages to pack a couple of sit down restaurants and several small consesion stands lides with snacks, electronics, and other travel essentials.

I've heard horror stories about the rental car service, but have yet to experience it.

Easy airport to get in & out of. I have not used any services here. It is a ways out of town.

Easy in/out and plenty of seating and outlets. Free WiFi. food options are terrible and the hours are not comprehensive. Baggage can take a while and airport parking fills up on holidays and other popular times. Being in the desert the airport should really consider waterless urinals in the men's rooms.

The TSA here is under trained. I had a legal item in my checked bag but the TSA agent did not know the rules for it so the bumped me to the next flight while I schooled him on his job

Always quick to get through security! I can't wait until the spaceport is open!

Well understaff during peak hours. Rude staff. Inefficient staff, No Pre TSA, Midland airport needs to step it up with oil industry City and so many people flying in and out !!! I had to give a one star because zero was not available.

Small, but clean. Although the stores are never open to buy things.

As I proceeded to baggage check and security. My back pack was subject to a search as is most bags. However, as tried to assist/help the so called gentleman he cut me off with a sharp condescending & argumentative attitude. He continued to be arrogant & aggressive with me. I then asked for his name & I was directed to a TSA Supervisor Mr. Pannullo that did not speak to him about his behavior nor would he give me his name. I will be following up this matter don't you worry. If he treated me this way I am certain he has treated other US citizens the same way!
Let me ask you one question? Would you treat your mother, daughter, and or sister the same way? I think not!
This guy probably failed academy school!
That's why he is a little security officer. What ever! Your rude & should be reprimanded! Jerk
