Not sure how this hotel gets such great reviews. Maybe I m just not a city person because to pay $300+ a night for the same room you could find at a motel 6 is outrageous. Sure, the furniture and decor of the hotel is fancy and the pillows were nice but everything else was entirely disappointing. The 2 stars was for the friendly staff but everything else was below satisfactory. We were checked into a supposedly nice room on a higher floor as if that promised something but definitely didn t since there is no view of anything other than the building directly across. The furniture in the lobby is stained and dirty, you definitely wouldn t want to sit on that if wearing anything other than black otherwise I m sure it would discolor your clothes. The room was tiny and outdated, the only updated feature is the flat screen tv; you could put one of those old box tv s and it would fit right into those rooms. I felt like I was at grandma s house. The lighting is terrible in the rooms so forget putting a face of makeup on. Bathroom was small and underwhelming, but the $8 bottle of water offered sure made up for it?? They give you a key to the mini bar which is actually the only mini fridge you have in your room. Upon reading other reviews of beverages being delivered to your door in the morning, we didn t receive that so I guess it s selective. All in all, this hotel is kind of a joke. We didn t try any of the food or go to the bar here but honestly didn t feel like it would make up for anything anyway. I would stay somewhere else.
Good hotel of high quality with good deals online. Recommend!
EPIC hotel experience. Staff, location and hotel(rooms) were awesome!
The staff is the most friendly of any hotel I have been to. This is shown mainly in the form of seeking to address any issue or help one might need. My wife and I came here for our honeymoon, and knowing the occasion, the staff left a bottle of champagne, strawberries, and a handwritten note for us in the room when we checked in. I would definitely recommend a stay here to anyone who is considering visiting San Francisco.
I really enjoyed my stay.
However upon getting there I was shocked that I can't pay with cash. I had to walk down the street to Wells Fargo and deposit, not a HUGE deal but still annoying. I would have much preferred to pay with BITCOIN than have to deal with my bank (that's why I brought cash).
One of two worst things about this place is they offer you nestle water at the front desk when you check in. Nestle is PURE EVIL and produces garbage chemical drinking water and also believes that water is not a human right. Please contract someone else for your complementary water.
THE WORST thing about this Hotel is that they use non-vegan soaps... this was really disturbing for me. I just went to whole foods and bought some body wash, lol. Ubering is such a piece of cake in San Fran :D
Over all I'd say this place is great if you bring your own soap and get some take out down the street. I didn't order any room service because of the prices and my traveling partner said it would be a small portion for someone like me LOL!!
So I would say 4.5 star service =) If they could get rid of Nestle and provide vegan bath soaps, I would LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I sure hope 5 star hotels have these things.. time will tell.
Great hotel and staff was very accommodating to all our requests.
So friendly staff, clean and well maintained room. Easy access to sightseeing spots. Safe location. It was really good
Traditional quarters in a polished hotel with an upscale restaurant & a bar, plus a grand lounge.
Wonderful staff, comfortable beds, hot water is immediate and plentiful. Great service in the bar, good beer selection.
It was a nice hotel, but not as nice as many others I've been to across the country. Many amenities that come standard with other hotels I've been to we're up-sells here. Again it was nice, but for the money I've had better. But it is SF so everywhere is expensive.
Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights stay at Omni SF. Our family really appreciated the following:
*Bell service staff called us by our names during our stay, and provided my children with welcome backpacks
*Both days, we walked into our room and were greeted with a plate of chocolate chip cookies and milk for my children
*Apples, bananas, and water available at the lobby
The lobby is stunning, rooms are clean, and service overall is without complaint. Highly recommend!
Fantastic service very nice definitely coming back
It was really pretty! Definitely not worth the price paid, but given that it was a heavily booked weekend it mostly makes sense
The good: Comfortable, great location if you're working in the financial district and a well stocked gym
The bad: Decorated like your grandmother's house and filled with people attending conferences in the function rooms
The hotel staff work together as a team to provide a welcoming experience when you arrive. They are professional and will provide the little things in hospitality. I had great interactions with the front desk, bellman, concierge and the housekeeper Shirley, who was a delightful individual. The rooms were nice- standard king, chair/ottoman, desk, tv/entertainment, minibar, robes, tub/shower. Paid about $200 per night, location is in the financial district/Chinatown. So on the weekends a few restaurants and coffee shops are surprisingly closed, but there are certainly options available within walking distance. About a 5min walk from the Bart/Montgomery station, and the cable car stops directly in front and there is a bus stop behind the hotel. Fitness center had treadmills, bike machines, wet face towels, yoga mats, and a functional trainer. Walgreens and Wellsfargo 1 block away. The only random nuance- on a Sunday at noon, in an attempt to nap, the fire alarm went off for about 20 minutes, which required waking, dressing and walking down 14 flights to sit in the lobby. Other than that, the place is mahogany, and marble throughout- very nice.
Beautiful. One of the best places I've stayed. Dooren were like something out of a movie
Bob's Chop House is very good but not as good as Wolfgang NYC
Everyone that works there is very nice and accommodating. Room was the best you could ask for in San Fran!
Was just there for the steakhouse downstairs, had a great time.
Rates were good (WITH A COUPON - without a coupon they were ridiculous). Room was great! Service was spectacular. Food was expensive but delicious. Definitely consider Omni for your next SF visit.
One of the best hotels in San Fransisco. The rooms are top of the line and the staff provides world class service.
If you d like to spend over $300/night to stay in a musty hotel with paper-thin walls, non functional WiFi and $22 breakfast, this is the place for you!
Great place to stay. The staff was super friendly help helpful. The extras were nice, such as complementary starch and a sewing kit, or morning coffee. The room was homey, lots of wood trim. It felt like home.
Loved the door man's the make you feel very welcome and you are the king and queen entering the hotel. Parking for Saturday was $30 but Sunday $60 , the bathroom had no ventilation and pillows smelled not right. We reserve double queen bed through Expedia but instead they give us a suite with king size bed. When asked reception we were told to talk to Expedia.? But other than those little issue nice hotel to stay close to China Town & Union square.
Good: Quick check in, convenient location for Downton meetings.
Bad: very old rooms and fittings, no breakfast included (infact no buffet b'fast at all).
Ugly: no free wifi (very expensive at $20/day), traffic noise for lower floors.
Fantastic hotel great staff a must place to stay when you vist san Francisco
Located in the heart of the financial district, walking distance to tons of great eateries, bars and AT&T Park. The service at the Omni is top notch and the rooms are nice, a great place to stay when visting San Francisco!
The Omni was great, our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, plus they checked us in early!
Great quintessential San Francisco hotel experience!
Quick and helpful service. Nice rooms. Pretty pricey which made me disappointed in the size of the tub in the bathroom. Could only fit one person comfortably in it. But no big deal considering the prime location of the hotel in one of the pricest cities in the world.
The hotel is wonderful the staff is nice, the food is good, and the rooms are nice and quiet. You have to get your car parked for you.
The Omni hotel was a three mintue walk to the Bart transportation which was nice! The door men were very helpful and nice! The hotel was very beautiful and clean.
Got my WSJ every morning, which was a plus, and after specifically requesting my morning amenities cards (for juice, etc.), got those. Just seemed a bit disjointed--not per usual standards. Normally, I love this property and feel pampered, but a bit disappointed this time.
Great penthouse room, at first I didn't like the tiny dormer windows but they are growing on me. Since my view is of a building across the street large windows aren't necessary anyways. Friendly and knowledgeable staff makes the experience complete!
Outstanding hotel and service. Perfectly centered in the heart of SF making it easy to explore the city.
Beautiful hotel. Fantastic service. The staff was very friendly and helpful in providing local knowledge. The hotel is situated in a great location in the financial district.
Beautiful building. Beautiful and large rooms (more important than a nice lobby) ... Despite some reviews, it doesn't look outdated at all. I prefer the classic look instead of something that looks like everything was ordered from IKEA. The front desk at check-in was top notch. The hotel could use better parking service and the doorman is mostly AWOL. But those are minor. This is a great hotel
One of the best places for business travelers to stay near the financial district. Quiet rooms and definitely part of the Omni family. Once inside, it is hard to tell the difference between this hotel and the NYC Berkshire.
If you want consistent comfort, service, pick this place.
In the financial district, it is a classic style hotel. Ideal for those looking for comfort in the city center.
Classic San Francisco luxury Hotel, room service is great, beds are increditable
Awesome stay with family!! Staff is super friendly, attentive and helpful!!
The rooms are nice as is the lobby. Although I booked my trip a few weeks in advance, it took a long time for them to find a room for me. Scary at first, but it turned out ok in the end.
My absolute favorite hotel in SF! You cannot beat the service you will receive at an Omni hotel, but the SF location really stands out. Many of the staff have been there since they opened as the Omni. I have stayed here a dozen times over a 10 year period and the consistency is amazing! The bar is quite cold with all the window, so remember to take a sweater so you'll be comfortable!
Regal in a downtown kind of way. I probably, over the course of my stay, drank a gallon of their iced fruit water near the elevators (you gotta delight in the small things). The room was quiet and comfortable, which is to be expected at the price point.
Everything was as expected and my stay went flawlessly. My only complaint would be the morning beverage service (coffee) to last longer, but all is good. For the price and the location makes staying here worth it!
Very nice hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff.
centrally located, immaculate rooms, and impeccable service. 10 out of 10.
Love this place. Just right for the kids, location, and convenience.
Great staff, beautiful old hotel remodeled, but they need to invest in upgrading their beds. After an extended weekend both my boyfriend and I can hardly walk from back pain and tossed around all night.
Went for lunch. It was pretty good. Nothing that would blow you away but it wasn't terrible either.
Every single member of the staff I have met have been nothing but helpful and polite in every way possible. They all go above and beyond to make sure my stay is completely satisfactory.
Great staff and service. The top floor's rooms have very small windows
It was a great experiece we were all shooken up with the sf traffic as soon as we arrived the valet took over made it so easy checked in and were settled in less then 10 minutes perfect the stay was great staff was great the room was great will definetly be staying here again next time we are in san francisco!
Great room in a beautiful hotel. Lots of history here too. A walk away from embarcadero and Jackson square.
We go to Napa Valley on our own. The hotel is conveniently located near the Badaguan Scenic Area. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the shore and 30 minutes to Pier 39. There are many restaurants nearby. Check in and check out are easy. The porter is very good, the room is good, wifi is right, nothing special. It is definitely a good place to visit San Francisco.
Beautiful. The restaurant was okay and overpriced for our family but... They were very kind and so accommodating for our late night dinner. After some research we found some local eateries and Chinatown spots.
It was a wonderful location. Close enough to walk to the farmer's market, trollies, and Chinatown and far enough away from the hectic pier noise. Loved this location!!
Excellent hotel. Terrific staff. Definitely stay here.
A very nice hotel in the heart of San Francisco, walking distance to Union Square and embarcadero.
Very attentive people receiving us every day
Would stay again
The service is great, the hotel is in an excellent location, slightly odorous room, bathroom, and hallways though.
Very nice place. Comfortable beds, good lighting, friendly staff.
An exceptional hotel that catered to all of our needs in a reasonable manner! This hotel is conveniently located in the center of town that makes it easily accessible to all attractions and is close to the BART that takes you to and from the SFO airport and surrounding Bay Area places. When we first checked in, I was having a major migraine headache. It was about noon, but they were able to give us a room right away so I was able to rest. We had booked two rooms for which we wanted to be adjoining rooms. So, the following day, they were able to move us back into the rooms we requested even though the hotel was fully booked! Excellent customer service! The rooms are very beautiful and have decent views of the financial district of San Francisco. They also charge for wifi, but took the charges away from our final bill as complementary! Above and beyond service in my books!
Had a nice stay here, staff was very friendly, but felt they tried to rip us off several times which left a very unfortunate sour taste in my mouth.
First we were staying for a wedding and were sent a special link with a discounted rate - good thing we checked the normal site, because the special rate ended up being more expensive!
Then the parking.... Heads up it s $74/night, which we didn t find out till halfway through our stay (they should really tell you that before they park your car, heck these days you have to give the ok everywhere to add guacamole for $2). If we had known this we would have parked somewhere else nearby for around half the price.
TLDR nice hotel, great staff, but watch out for your wallet.
This is a great hotel in the heart of San Francisco. In walking distance of Union square with a ton of great restaurants nearby. The staff are great and very professional. The Omni is always my first choice when visiting the area.
