Great gym, so much to do, and fun climbing center with slack line and tension board.
Great friendly staff and cool programs for kids like the little sparks climbing program. Lindsey, Jason, Elissa, Trevor, and Anthony have all done a great job with the climbing program and their efforts are greatly appreciated.
An awesome gym for climbing and fitness. The kids' team coaches are amazingly dedicated and do a wonderful job! The staff at the desk are usually helpful (but sometimes seem distracted or untrained).
Best gym in Tahoe, hands down. If you live in North Lake, don't even waste your time going to A Sante Fitness. HAF is much larger, much better, and much cheaper. It's also one of the most inspiring gyms I have ever been to. The fact that they offer indoor rock climbing is a plus, but the gym itself rocks just a much!
Decent free weight area but the lone squat rack is always in use and usually there's a line waiting for it. And no the smith machine doesn't count.
I love this gym, it's got it all!! Wonderful place to work out and do yoga!!! Tex, climbing wall , sauna!!! I wish there was one in Tahoe City!! Hey
High Altitude Fitness is an amazing gym. It has all of the equipment a member could want plus amazing rock walls. The gym space is modern, clean, and staffed with very friendly people. I am new to IV and feel very comfortable and welcomed there. I have been a gym member for the last 30 + years at various gyms throughout California and across the US. High Altitude Fitness is top notch and worth every penny of it s very reasonable membership rates.
Friendly helpful staff, great selection of workout equipment with climbing walls and sauna on site, also good selection of clothing and equipment, there s also a nice lounge area with health snacks available.
I went to a yoga class as I was visiting town for a few days , Taylor s class was so good she had an upbeat way of teaching a class focusing on the breath and moving through the asanas ,the room was heated and her class was one of the best I have done , highly recommended
Friendly and helpful staff. Star is an awesome yoga instructor
I wouldn't recommend this fitness center because they are very over priced and when it comes to the facilities when something breaks and you bring it to their attention they blame the customers and never fix the problem. I'm not mentioning the weeks of no hot water and having to listen to the owner make a statement "all of Incline Village is dirty because of our showers being out of order ha ha ha!" Which was made to another employee. Most of the employees are super nice except for 1 in particular who just doesn't have much of a personality or people skills. Lastly they only honor their contact with you when it's too their benefit never the other way around. I will be very surprised if l do not receive some type of snide comment from this establishment's owners very shortly that is if they even care enough to address the problem.
Awesome Gym! Great yoga and best climbing gym in Tahoe!
Climbing area is kinda small, but otherwise this gym is top notch
I will most likely never return to this gym. My birthday way today and my girlfriend secretly planned taking me to this gym to boulder. We live in reno and normally boulder at Whitney peak hotel. Aparently high altitude fitness has all bouldering closed due to the competition they have tomorrow, BUT no where was this information posted on their website or on their Google link. Now we get to drive home my girlfriend bawling and myself feeling disappointed.
Very nice and quiet gym with rock climbing. Many machines available to use. Very nice staff.
Great gym, they have a lot of options for equipment. The rock climbing wall has lots of routes, more options for 5.10+ climbers than beginners. The bouldering is also great!
The locker rooms are awesome, nice showers, a sauna, and is always really clean.
Well rounded gym, definitely would recommend.
Took a yoga class here with Coral as my instructor and loved it!
Great equipment. Nice staff. Cool atmosphere. Beautiful yoga studio.
Great place to come get your fitness on when in Incline. Super clean and state of the art.
This fitness space has an instructor by the name of Sarah Hannala, who has been seen being very unprofessional and harassing the people and animal life on her trip to Hawaii.
There is evidence that shows Sarah telling someone to kill themselves after an island native informed her that being close to and touching the sea turtles is harmful to them. She also got the persons home address to threaten them even further; rather than take accountability, reflect on what she did wrong and genuinely apologize.
Honestly I would expect more respect, compassion, and professionalism from any yogi, while at home or on vacation..
I have to wonder, is this how this company wants to be seen? I would hope not. Suicide is not something to take lightly, nor is getting someone s address and telling them to stay safe .
I hope they end her time at this establishment. I am from the Bay Area, and frequent Tahoe often. Sadly I will do all i can to ensure the safety of others by letting them know that your yoga space is not safe or a sanctuary while housing a very toxic and harmful yogi instructor.
Pricing makes no sense and the guest policy is terrible. Gym is pretty small but very nice other than that
Great place to rock climb while on vacation...parents can lounge and they serve smoothies and cheap beer too.
Friendly helpful front desk
Great atmosphere with juices and coffee
Lots of different machines and lots of free weights
Easy access to get in and good parking
This is the best gym I've ever belonged to. The classes are led by quality instructors and climbing and yoga are included with the membership. The route setters are top notch and are constantly switching up the climbing walls. The gym is clean, has a friendly atmosphere, and serves beer. What more could you ask for?
My father and I went to Reno to ski but due to high winds, we had to take a day off of skiing. So we took a yoga class at High Altitude Fitness instead. The day membership fee was very reasonable. I wish we would've had time to try the climbing wall and the gym.
I went into High Altitude , upset, one day to talk to management about a miscommunication. Turns out it was on my part!!
Gabbi handled the situation very well and I left realizing that, as big as it seems, High Altitude is a small business like anything also and deserves our support. They work very hard to be the best!! Their amenities and services are high quality!!
Thank you for being a positive part of our community and for all of the hard work!!
Respectfully
-Jason Jurss
Terrible customer service. Double charged me for a 3 month membership due to an apparent website glitch and refuse to reverse the duplicate charge. I would not recommend doing business with these people.
friendly staff, great equipment, clean, well-maintained.
Very friendly staff, excellent conditioning facility at all levels, well-conformed social distancing rules - all contributing to a great workout.
Friendly and personable staff. Clean. Wipes for equipment are everywhere. Classes. Rock climbing gym. Good vibes!
Great service with the associate I worked with. Alysa was a great service to have help me figure out I wanted to sign up for the gym
I love this gym and the staff is very friendly and helpful. This gym has plenty of cardio and weight lifting machines, plenty of free weights and the classes are fun and challenging. I highly recommend this gym and it is super clean. This gym also offers rock climbing and provides instructors and equipment.
I have been a member at this location for 25 years. The High Attitude incarnation is the worst ever. The management is welcoming only to their friends, the elite and to the young, other paying members are barely tolerated. [older = 35+]
There has been a steam room at this location for 25 years, but in the last year it has been broken more than it has worked. The management considers everything but the climbing wall an amenity and therefore believes that they do not need to keep up equipment or steam room. The treadmills and bikes have bearings that rattle and are never fixed. One can tell the front desk staff about needed repairs over and over, nothing changes. If you liked the elitist games in High School and do not mind paying a lot for nothing then this is the place for you.
Excellent gym super clean and modern climbing gym is small but has many awesome routes
Excellent gym , with plenty of equipment, a climbing wall, yoga studio, sauna, and friendly staff. Not to mention the members also are friendly and supportive. Overall high altitude is an excellent place to start or continue your journey to fitness
High Altitude is such a great place. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The routes on the climbing walls are changing exactly at the right times. The sauna is the best for after a hard workout session.
Been working out for over 40 years and this place is among the very best I've ever encountered. Would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a rock solid facility with tons of equipment and slab granite on the walls of the locker rooms...
Overall, I love the gym's quality. There are plenty of classes, the climbing wall, and the floor its self to take advantage of while there.
The only thing that detracts from my experience is the extremely poor to inconsistent internet. While this may not be an important stakeholder requirement at this point in time, it will be in 5 to 10 years. It might be worthwhile to start looking into ways to help solve for this issue before then. Currently, it is near impossible to listen to Spotify or Pandora without a buffer period in every song.
This fitness center feels very luxurious. I love their sauna, and their new weight lifting equipment. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Such a good community feel here. I was in town for the week and I went over to High Altitude to use some weights. The folks signing me up for a guest pass were super sweet and there weren t any sales pitches. The gentleman who helped me simply informed me that a two day guest pass was cheaper per session than buying two separate passes, which I really appreciated hearing about. If I lived in the area, this would definitely be my local.
We keep returning for the climbing which is loved by parent and children alike. The auto belays make it great for everyone to enjoy climbing without having to constantly cater to the kids. The writing on the ceiling inspires the kids to climb higher each time. And the staff and patrons alike are totally patient and laid back with our kids in the gym making it a great atmosphere.
As a family, we like the seating area by the front desk where the kids can enjoy smoothies after climbing, and as adults, we have a chance to catch up with our friends over a drink.
I tried my first yoga class and it was amazing. I didn t realize there was a separate yoga room upstairs, but the candles, heat and wonderful instructor made it an experience I want to return to regularly.
The interior design of the gym with the wood and stone is beautiful and cozy. Recently we tried out the sauna and the showers after working out and was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable it is with towels, soap and cream available. The whole experience makes me feel like I m at a spa instead of working out at a gym.
Don't bother giving your opinion on services and management because they will cancel your membership. They are not interested in your feedback or what they could do to improve. My membership was extended for a month because I went home due to my sister's death, which I was grateful for. However because I spoke up about thing I was unhappy with (without even given a chance to explain why), Gabi Burd decided to take away that month, saying they didn't agree to that time frame, when in fact my account said they did. This is not the first time management has dealt with others in a cruel and unfair way. Front desk staff is friendly and classes are great, but unfortunately management ruins that.
Good people, well kept gym. I'm not a climber but all the equipment is high quality and well maintained.
I travel alot and have been to alot of different gyms. High Altitude is by far the best I've experienced. Full climbing gym, any and all equipment you could ask for, free classes, friendly staff, and the best stream room around.
I dropped in for a day and took a yoga class from Christine- wow I highly recommend this class and the facility was really clean.
Great gym and fun climbing wall. Lots of space, machines, free weights, sauna and beers!
Bomber crack for practicing hand/finger jams and liebacking.
Plus the rest of the gym is great
