Who knew Virginia could actually be fun. Surprise, surprise our anniversary turned out to be top notch thanks to The Omni.

First of all, the concierge went above and beyond helping my husband plan the perfect room and surprise for me. When we walked into our room, they had sprinkled the bed with flowers in a heart shape and a nice expensive champagne in a bucket of ice. My husband also ordered a flower arrangement which they so kindly put in the room. It was absolutely perfect.

We did dine in the hotel for breakfasts and dinners, including ordering room service. Aside for the mojitos being a little light with the alcohol, the food was phenomenal and exquisite.

Breakfasts consisted of eggs, french toasts, pancakes. --- All delicious.
Dinner was great with an amazing salmon salad and fabulous wine of course.

They do have free parking for guests but you still have to take a ticket. Don't let that scare you. They're also very close to everything, including the wineries, zoos and town.

We loved our stay and would come back again next time we need to be in Virginia.

I've never stayed in the rooms so I can't speak for that but I go to the bar several times a month with friends. The bartenders are all super nice! The food is fantastic but it is just a tad high-priced but I think the quality makes it worth it. The best thing for me is absolutely the bartenders

Visited for company dinner. Food was good and service was quick, even with group of over 100.

Excellent experience! Staff was amazing and the food they provided was delicious. It was all very fresh and their gluten free options were fabulous!

Location, location, location! Great place to stay when in Charlotte. Front desk staff cordial, warm, and helpful.
Free self-parking option was convenient.

Room for improvement:

Common areas uncomfortably cold and over air-conditioned.

Way-finding: for folks who arrive from out of town or for the first time, the driveway entrance to the property is difficult to find. We drove by twice, because the building looks like an office building. The Omni lettering on the side of the building is not visible until after the building is passed by. Bottom line:there is not driveway entrance signage for the hotel, not is there any entrance landscape design to celebrate the hotel s presence from the roadside.

Like many older hotels/rooms, Omni Charlottesville has been updated in terms of TV and decor. What has been forgotten:
****Lack of adequate outlets: most travelers have at least two devices that need to be charged. The two of us ended up crawling around the room in search of additional outlets to charge 2 phones, two tablets, one laptop, etc. we are reminded to travel with a powerstrip next time.

Bathroom: old tub, that looked like it was forgotten when the rest of the room was redecorated.
Old-style bathroom lighting that leaves the tub in darkness when being used (when shower curtain is drawn)

Also:
Could have used another desk chair for in-room dining (for 2).
Small usable table would also be helpful;Tiny side table for ice bucket=not so helpful for dining.

Nice hotel, a little pricey for our stay. Good breakfast bar.

Clean, well located. However room was very humid (no bathroom fan). Bathroom was pretty small as well.

This is a nice hotel at the end of the downtown Charlottseville walkable mall area. The service was friendly. Parking is included with the room. They have fruit flavored water in the lobby which was nice. They put chocolate milk on ice and cookies in our room during turn-down service for the kids which was a nice treat for them. The room and view were nice. It's not cheap, but is well located to downtown and only a few miles from the University.

Went as part of a formal service at the conference rooms. Food was good and the service was prompt and great! It was very comfortable and I would recommend it to anybody interested in hosting professional events.

Great location and good hotel to host wedding guests

Our stay at the Omni Charlottesville was the first time my husband and I have taken our four young children on vacation to stay at a hotel and it was a wonderful experience! After a 6 hour drive we arrived at 9pm, to a very pleasant staff who were there with activity bags for my four kids(which they carried around all weekend) and a great recommendation for a late dinner! The room was comfortable and clean and the location was perfect as it was at the heart of the Pedestrian Mall with shops and restaurants right out our door. The staff was always available to give directions and accommodate a slightly later departure time. We will definitely be staying at other Omni properties in the future!

I was there for a professional development conference so I did not use all of the amenities. But, what I did partake in was exceptional. Catering was good too.

Great location on the downtown Mall. I stayed here years ago, and I honestly don't notice any updating since that time. Carpeting needs to be replaced.

The Omni Charlottesville offers great service and a wonderful experience. I stay there on average about a week every other month and consistently have a great time.

I spent a brief amount of time at the Omni for wedding activities, including the rehearsal dinner. Service was great, and the atmosphere is lovely.

Modest sized rooms, okay and dated furnishings. Lobby is dark at night. Overall this place seems like its prime was 30 years ago and is in need of some updates, especially at these prices. Bad taste left with me after getting yelled at for taking some hot water for (my own) tea in the lobby near the front desk. Apparently i can get hot water from 7-11 or wawa for free but its a yellable offense at the Omni.

Our office of 11 came for lunch. We were seated promptly and the food was good for a buffet. The chocolate desert was especially delicious.

The facilities are amazing, the restaurant is delivered, and they are very accommodating for our business retreat.

Great location, friendly staff, extremely clean rooms. I stay here a couple times a year.

The courtyard outside was lovely and shaded, with two pokestops to enjoy (if you are into that kind of thing). The lobby was comfortable and we'll lit. I appreciated the easy access to so many restaurants and shops to explore.

Still the premier hotel in downtown Charlottesville

Don t book this hotel. The rooms are over priced and they will not let you cancel once it s booked. I booked in May for uva parent s weekend in October . Tried to cancel it in July but it s their policy not to allow that. Once they get your booking. You are stuck. I ve never seen a hotel act like this.

I stayed at this Omni for Business purposes. The common areas were clean, and also the rooms. The atrium had a calm refreshing feeling as well. The staff were attentive to our needs, and were very professional. The hotel is located in a prime area of Charlottesville, so you can walk to many dining and shopping locations. As a select guest member, I enjoyed the free WiFi. I would definitely recommend this hotel for personal and business stays.

An incredibly tasteful and lovely place right on the Downtown Mall. Highly recommended!

Food and service were both supurb! Dined with a group of twelve, using the Hospice dinner coupons. Wife and I both had the filet mignon - the best I have ever had: ordered rare and cooked to perfection. The green beans were perfectly done: crisp, just the way we like them. Our server and the maitre-de were polite, accommodating and professional. Great experience!

So close to shops and restaurants/bars. The rooms are always clean. The staff has always been great and having the buffet downstairs is great but it is on the pricey side for breakfast food.

Event itself was wonderful. Ballroom was nice. The food was fair.

I stayed at Omni Charlottesville in July 2018 before departing for Washington D.C. I must say without exaggeration that I had best time at Omni Charlottesville. It is most calm place of stay. There is swimming pool in hotel and adjoining market. Also, the rooms of the hotel are nice and staff cooperative. I would love to stay at Omni Charlottesville hotel again.

Excellent customer service. The entire staff was helpful and friendly. They were happy to provide assistance. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom.
I was very impressed, certainly a cut above other hotels I have stay in.

Always a favorite for us to stay at, best in C'ville. The rooms are pleasant and comfortable, although the double beds may be too small for a large family. The customer service is wonderful and the hotel has a nice restaurant. It is also VERY conveniently located to downtown and has a big lobby.

I stay here about once a year for a conference. Staff are friendly, helpful, and genuine. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel seems quiet to provide a good night's sleep. Great location with access to the mall area for restaurants and scenery. Highly recommend Omni Hotels & Resorts.

Friendly and professional staff. Location is convenient for shopping and relatively close to the UVA campus. Rooms were decent.

The Omni business center is a nice location and seems to accommodate the needs of the businesses that are located there.

I attended a reception after a conference at the Omni and I was very pleased with the event space and service of the hotel catering staff. It is a beautiful building with an excelent location for out of town visitors to take in the pedestrian mall downtown.

The Omni Hotel is an excellent Poke Stop on the downtown mall. Provided a hyper potion, great ball, and even a 10k egg.

It's very nice but it's not luxury (as they say on their website). I've stayed at many different Omni properties and again, while this is very nice, I doubt we'd stay again.

I loved this hotel! Very top of the line, the workers were very accommodating and the Omni had all of the amenities that you would want. I would stay here again.

Kelly and her staff went above and beyond to make my stay exceptional. Lovely hotel in a terrific location with excellent service. I highly recommend making this your first choice when staying in Charlottesville.

Rooms clean and well sized. Staff very friendly and courteous. Breakfast included in room price very well appointed. I would recommend the Omni to anyone.

The rooms and service were high quality. Excellent breakfast buffet. The complimentary wi-fi is quite slow and the desk accidentally charged us for it. Tried to call the help line to get a Chromecast white listed on the network but was refused and told that they do not support Chromecasts (Not unexpected, but not guest friendly in this day and age either.)

We stayed here for our wedding! Beautiful lobby, super convenient location, very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and bed was comfy.

I love this place! Immediately walking was amazing. I was greeted in the lot, and the staff inside was kind and helpful to me. The ambience was great and it was so beautiful. I loved the inside of this hotel. It is very close to the outdoors mall, and plenty of eatery and places to shop. My room had an AMAZING view, and I'd recommend this place to anyone traveling to Charlottesville.

The Pointe is a good restaurant, though the parking garage isn't great for avant garde artsy fartsy theater.

Excellent hotel and location. Overall wonderful experience with minor exceptions. Thin walls with noisy neighbors. Also I will never understand why in room internet is a surcharge in high end hotels. It is the 21st Century.

Very nice hotel with a great location. Staff was always nice and helpful, rooms and lobby and grounds clean. Pools and hot tub are nice too. Definitely a place I'd stay again!

These walls are paper thin, there is hair in the bathtub, and some of the plugs in the room don't work.

Great location for downtown Charlottesville. Breakfast buffet is off the charts. Although it's expensive, it's clean, quiet and has very comfortable rooms.

Quality for what you pay is very low. Paid twice what I normally spend on a hotel room, and got a tiny room with a view of the parking lot. If the cost was about 1/3 or even 1/2, I would have recommended it.

The staff is incredibly friendly and the location is great for walking in downtown Charlottesville and seeing the beautiful city. My room was always cleaned well and the facilities were nice. Parking was also pleantiful and they have a partially covered parking garage so you don't have to worry about the weather. My only downside is the hot water at night did not always get as warm as I would have liked it. However, at other times in the morning it was perfectly fine. I would stay here again.

Staff was very friendly and nice... The room was smaller than imagined for the price paid, and parking is definitely a problem if the hotel is full. Was really expecting more from a top notch, top dollar hotel. Room service was very prompt and more than acceptable food as amenities. Really wanted to like the stay, but for the money I feel like we could have gotten more else where.
