Omni Charlottesville Hotel Review

Lovely hotel with very accommodating staff. very close to dining and shopping.

Very nice hotel, great location. Staff was very good.

Beautiful hotel, free parking, very short walk to historic Main Street, and comfortable beds. However, they seem to have a cockroach problem... I notified the front desk of a large cockroach in the 2nd floor hallway at 9 am, hoping it was fluke, but the cockroach was still there at 3 pm when I went to refill my ice. A 2nd cockroach was found trampled in the 3rd floor elevator lobby. Additionally, the hot tub was out of order indefinitely (not due to COVID-19), and the shower water pressure was uncomfortable. I expect more out of a 4-star hotel.

The place was fine. Nothing standout bad things happened.

Rooms were clean and the location was great, friendly employees but I didn't spend much time there.

Absolutely a terrible experience. My company booked my stay with impression that OMNI meant quality and service, but it was quite the opposite. The hotel itself is outdated and has bare minimum amenities. The inside pool is horribly small and the smell of chlorine is overwhelming. There is no coffee in the lobby and water is often empty. In the rooms, they only provided decaf pods. I and other guests went several times to staff to obtain coffee pods. I asked for my sheets to be changed one of the days and left the card on the bed, per the instructions, but the task was not completed. My company spent over $1,000 to stay there, so you can imagine my shock when I was charged for internet! When I inquired, I was told that I had to sign up for a rewards program to obtain free wifi. Guests should not have to give out their personal information to get a service that all other hotels provide without inconvenience. Parking is cumbersome and inconvenient.

Great location, but rooms good use a little upgrade. The mattresses could be more comfortable.

Great hotel and staff. I prepaid for valet parking which was nice. Location of the hotel is at the end of the market square walkway with lots of unique shops and restaurants, we ate at the Melting Pot for dinner. Nice view of the Rotunda and mountains of Charlottesville.

Went to the buffet for lunch. Was a great deal for 13 dollars!

Great room to stay in. The bed was very comfortable, the tub was a decent size to take a bath. I like how I was able to get free Wifi just by becoming a Omni guest member (couldn't recall what the name of it was). I wish I took advantage of the breakfast buffet but I was already running late for work.

There ballrooms were nice and the breakfast and attention to detail was refreshing

Four years coming to the Omni Charlottesville and never disappoints. The entire staff consistently makes you feel like home and treats you like family. The breakfast buffet hands down the best. We have tried other hotels last minute and none compare to the Omni.

Direct hotel booking offered better pricing that Orbitz etc in that OMNI price matches, then does even better with military and senior discounts. When I opted for a queen bed to have more room walking area, the front desk informed king bed floor layouts would provide the extra space. The loyalty ambassador responded to our requests for homey restaurants in the immediate area. An e-mail several days before arrival, allowed us to check in on line. Room and hotel were elegant. A "little surprise" greeted us for our 20th anniversary. The assigned corner king room provided wrap around vista of sun setting over the Skyline Dr and the morning view included a hot air balloon flyby. A magical 20th anniversary. Thank you OMNI.

We ate at The Pointe for a business luncheon. The good is excellent and the wait staff is always attentive without being smothering. The atmosphere is always very nice, and the large, airy lobby is a nice quiet pocket away from the rest of the mall.

I didn't spend much time in the facilities other than to and from my room, but the lobby is nice and the staff is attentive My room was about the size you'd expect for a normal hotel room, and the amenities were...also what you'd expect: coffee machine with a tea bag, a couple complimentary bottles of water. The hotel is in a fantastic area. Literally right by the mall, there are lots of great restaurants and places to relax and grab a drink; The Whiskey Jar is right by the hotel and has some fantastic drinks.

The best location in Charlottesville! Great hotel. Rooms are comfortable and clean, staff is friendly and helpful! Greeted with Champagne in a Friday afternooon!

The omni was a great host for the wedding I went to. The space was good. The location was great. The food was pretty good.

My boyfriend and I were in town for work two weeks ago. The staff at this hotel is super polite and accommodating. The gentleman who checked us in gave us a very nice corner room. They have a free parking garage which is super helpful. I also found it comforting that you must have a key to use the elevator to get to the hotel rooms. The location of the hotel is also great as you can walk right into the mall at downtown Charlottesville. There are a lot of boutiques, coffee shops, restaurants, and even a movie theater. Definitely would recommend staying here!

This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location to enjoy downtown. Parking was a breeze, too.

This is an amazing and beautiful hotel. It is located on the downtown mall and near so many nice places to go to. The hotel is lovely and has amazing staff that will do their best to get you everything you need.

I walked through the Omni to get to the downtown mall. It was beautiful and air conditioned!

Restaurant was disappointing. Facilities for the panel I attended were just fine. Staff was friendly.

Radically disappointed. The pictures on the site are either incredibly old or purposefully misleading. Just because they could slap the name "Omni" on a hotel doesn't make it nice.

Outdated rooms, bathroom very small with huge toilet which takes up most of the bathroom, small tub and poor lighting. Decor needs updating, dark, lamps don t match, dirty wall switches, overall needs total makeover.

I love the restaurant here, and the hotel has been fine too. The guys in the restaurant are so nice.

It's a great hotel. The room and bathroom were very clean. The staff were very courteous. If you join Omni's free rewards plan, you can get wi-fi for free (as opposed to $9.95 a day). The breakfast buffet was delicious. There were gluten-free and vegan options, as well as custom-made omelettes. The hotel is located at the western end of the pedestrian mall and near a bus stop, which makes it easy to get around Charlottesville. I'd stay there again.

Great location adjacent to downtown mall. Lots of things to do nearby. Convenient to UVA.

This hotel is beautiful. Every staff person I encountered was friendly and helpful. The food in The Pointe restaurant was superb. All in all a great experience.

This is such a sweet, little hotel. It is absolutely beautiful, to start with. Spacious rooms accompanied by nice amenities such as the pool and gym. Very close to several attractions such as UVA and the downtown mall. This Omni is within walking distance of several nice restaurants and bars.

The thing that makes Omni stand out in my mind, even nearly five years after my stay there, is the service we received. We lost my Grandmother several years back, unfortunately. The funeral was in her hometown of Charlottesville so we stayed at this hotel. The staff found out our reason for staying and delivered a sweet, little tray of chocolates to our room. That kind of service is what makes me a repeat stayer.

Very poor facility for the price. Would not recommend to anyone for a pleasure trip. The only benefit is the proximity to the downtown area.

I stayed here to see Frank Turner at The Jefferson Theater. This hotel allowed me the opportunity to walk to and from the venue. It was very convenient. The place is nice and I rested well that evening.

We had our honeymoon here, and they made it fabulous! Friendly service. And the valley Cliff was the best, he went out of his way to make sure our happy time was phenomenal. We will be back

Attended the Charlottesville Bridal expo. The event was enjoyable and seemed to run smoothly. The limited interaction with staff was very pleasant.

Never actually stayed here, but the free water is nice. It's slightly lemony, but not overpowering. The issue with most lemon-flavored water is that it simply goes overboard; if I wanted a lemon-based drink, I would've gotten lemonade! But the water here is fine. Always refreshing. Five stars. All in all, probably the best water on the mall. The water at Java Java is good to, but you can tell they aren't really trying, whereas the Omni just puts their all into providing the community with fresh, ice cold lemon-water. Probably one of the best water experiences of my life, actually. I think they should enter themselves in the Water Olympics, since they seriously have something going here. I think they've got a chance of getting a silver medal, or even gold!

Best hotel in Charlottesville Virginia by a wide margin. Have been a customer there since Omni took it over in the 1980s.

Rooms are nice. The bathrooms have been updated, but are very small. The service has been helpful, but inconsistent on level of assistance with our group. The hotel is overall very clean and located in a great area.

This was my first time staying at an Omni property and it was wonderful. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the property was very clean and well maintained.

Had a business trip during valentines day, front desk delivered a bag of hersheys kisses to my room saying happy Valentine's Day. I really enjoyed my stay.

Last time I stayed here; there was underwear with poop in it and when I told the guy he begrudgingly asked "what do you want me to do?" I mentioned just to change rooms, but I'm surprised he didn't do more. I think he thought it was mine; at least that's the impression I got... but I don't wear XXL underwear. I won't be going back, but their saturday brunch was fantastic and I may swing by there if I'm in the area on a saturday. So 1 star for the hotel, 2 added stars for the great brunch and staff for that.

Good service. Clean rooms. Excellent location next to the open air mall (promenade). For some reason, Google Maps doesn't have the hotel driveway, so my Lyft driver ended up next door.

The staff was just superb. Every need was met with a smile and I had a wonderful time beginning to end. I would highly recommend it!!
