Great location. Well connected to the offices around. Room service and food menu is great. They gave me something I wanted from their menu even after hours since I didn't want anything from the late night menu. Rooms are about okay. It is an older hotel though, so the carpeting and room accessories are old school...
Clean and comfortable. Once all the construction is done it will be stunning.
Bellhops watch our party unload our cars with no assistance. Roof-top pool was unsanitary and closed during our entire stay in the peak of summer. Select Guest Loyalty Ambassador offered nothing but to meet me personally upon my next visit (I was still there for another day).
This business hotel is centrally located in the heart of downtown Charlotte, two blocks from the Convention Center and the Time Warner Cable Arena. It is in the middle of action however not a safe area to walk alone (at least as a female) at night.
The stylish rooms come with free Wi-Fi, 37-inch flat-screens and work desks, as well as tea and coffeemaking facilities. Really tiny bathrooms and paper thin walls, be ready to hear your neighbor s conversations as we did LOL)
Since is connected to the mall you can get easy access to the restaurants across the street. The Red Eye Diner is a solid option for some good, well served portion and affordable meal nearby.
The Pros -
In the heart of downtown Charlotte, within walking distance to major attractions
Rooftop pool and sun deck with city views
A full restaurant on-site, plus several dining options in the adjacent shopping mall
The Cons -
Very crowded pool Sunday
Paper thin walls
Tiny bathrooms
Everyone was really friendly at the hotel and we have no complaints aide if the pool situation on Sundays! We were never told they host a POOL PARTY Sundays and get full at capacity by noon.
We went out to visit Nascar Hall of Fame and when we got back for our surprise was a line of people (a very interesting crowd is worth mentioning) waiting outside.
As paying guests we would like to use the pool to relax but that wasn t possible since it was packed. Again, it somehow attracts a very interesting (AKA rough crowd) so even if we could get in I would pass
It is a great place to stay if you are not planning on using the pool on Sundays =]
I ALWAYS stay at the omni. And once again, they didn't disappoint! Beautiful view of downtown Charlotte, beautiful decor. Comfortable bed, thanks omni
Easy check in. Great service right in the heart of the city!
Wonderful experience. Great service & friendly staff. I ll definitely use Omni again when In Charlotte.
First time staying at this hotel location & will definitely stay there again when I'm in the area. Great staff made for easy check in, valet services, & check out. And thank you to the concierge for letting us know, right when we arrived, that there was a wheel chair available so it made sight seeing with my 94 yr old grandmother easier. What a great stay!
A little old for a facility in the heart of uptown. Either way you cannot pass up the excellent location it is in.
The Bank of America parking deck is owned by the Omni. There are 2 Bank of America parking deck's within a block of each other on the same street exact street. One vouchers tickets for the Blumenthol theater, this one does not. Parking in the incorrect parking deck for the blumenthol theater is a common mistake by many people according to Blumenthol and the parking staff. Although, it is Omni's policy to charge everyone who makes this mistake full price of the parking deck. It happens so often that the security staff and parking deck attendant's immediately become aggressive over the situation when it happens. The parking attendant came out and kept pointing at the screen, "see the number, pay it!" "You wanna leave the deck, pay it!", "the longer you wait, the more you're gonna pay!" Even when I showed him my ticket to the Blumenthol theater. The parking is also $3 every 20 minutes, when I scanned the parking voucher it was at 21 minutes, $6. A security guard came up and was yelling at me to pay and kept yelling "move on, get!" even when I was waiting for my receipt to be printed. I called the assistance number for the parking deck and they explained the entire situation. The fact that this happens so often and Omni stands by this policy even when people have the tickets to Blumenthol theater to show is really unprofessional for a hotel of this stature that stands by the principle of servicing guests and customers.
Excellent customer service. High prices. Very convenient. Door to room didn't close completely by itself.
A very beautiful hotel! Our room was amazing, and the customer service was fantastic. Will 100% be coming back in the future.
Worst hotel ever. They don't have a microwave and service is horrible..I don't recommend no one here I rather go to a days inn
Hidden fees. Was charged $50 more than what the invoice said. This was not a 4 star hotel. I belive the Hyatt a few blocks away from Omni would be a much better choice. Because of it's location be ready to get asked for money every single time you step out of the hotel. Not a good experience. ..
No parking at 8am for a convention. No warning or direction for guests who have come out of state and or not from the area. I had to pay $25 for 4hrs of parking. What a rip off! Never again will I go back.
paul told us he would not extend our stay because My friend was on the phone Getting information .. never in my life... not sure if it s discrimination or what but unacceptable
..
Fantastic hotel ! Note: if you want a quite room, don't stay on the pool side. The live music echo's to the morning hours. Other than that, its great.
Didn't stay here but was in and out due tourney. Very nice from what I saw.
Was able to book a last minute room no problem, room was clean and the staff was helpful. The parking situation is less than ideal, expect to pay at least $40.
Given the price, my expectations were higher than delivered.
The hotel is nice, but at the time of my visit the hotel was under construction, which I didn't know at the time of booking. Parking was also an unexpected $24 fee. WiFi was supposedly free if you are a gold status, but it doesn't make it clear when connecting (no login option). So to avoid another unexpected charges I didn't enter my rooms information. Another thing that was disappointing was the bridge on the main level closes at 10, so if you are wanting to return to your room you have to go through the main entrance, which was something we were hoping to be able to do.
Great hotel, great services as you arrive staff was very polite and attentive. We enjoyed our stay, rooms were clean, hotel is centered in the best location we didn't have to drive to go any where. We will visit this hotel again soon.
I was checked in with only my drivers license and the next morning I was in a rush to leave and make it to a meeting and was told they had no method of payment on file (I was part of a room block). So I had to leave my credit card at the front desk and run to my meeting and come back later to retrieve it. Very poorly managed. I also had a very old, outdated room with a bathtub and shower curtain and I had to crawl around looking for a power outlet. I will have trouble recommending this hotel which is a pity because my company is local.
Apparently there is a quiet side of the hotel and the other side is next to all the night clubs. Even on a Thursday night all we hear is thump, thump, thump from all the base and there's nothing the hotel can do about it. It's like a car playing nothing but base is right outside our window. Guess we won't sleep until about 2am when the clubs close according to hotel managers. I just wish they would've posted on their website that we could've requested the quiet side of the hotel. I will never stay here again
Clean rooms with modern touch. Comfortable bed with a view
Good room with a good view. Close to a number of restaurants/bars.
Omni Charlotte creates a very friendly and convenient experience. Enjoy all Uptown has to offer with just a short walk. From arrival to departure we were greeted with very friendly and helpful staff. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We will be back.
It's location makes it very desirable to stay there.
Our experience was all we expected it to be. Very nice and cozy. Loved the area because we had all we needed in walking distance!!
The staff was friendly enough but the hotel is dated and a bit of a confusing maze. They are currently renovating so maybe the updates will spruce up it and make it feel more open.
Very convenient and walkable to Downtown restaurants and shops, and street vendors (fresh fruit/veggies, falafel, gyros, cheesecake). Starbucks, CVS, Chik-fil-a in the building. Bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed having the sofa, full size ironing board, safe, mini-fridge and hair dryer. View took getting used to, but offices were empty after biz hours. Food and service was excellent for breakfast and really exceptional during our conference lunches. Really good blueberry Margarita at the pool bar - the bartenders were great - thank you. Also enjoyed the flavored water at the front desk. Special kudos for front desk staff that resolved an issue for me even before I had to ask.
Stayed during for a bowl game. The rooms and location were both very nice and the staff was very polite and helpful
Room was larger than expected and had tons of window real estate. I only wish that my visit wasn't delayed by two hours by having to wait for them to allow me to check in. My early check in request was not honoured so i had to spend time sitting in a nearby restaurant.
The Omni was a great stay. The beda were wonderful and the breakfast was divine. I had to stay here because my work needed me for OT. Great decision. A little on the spendy side, that us my only complaint!
Friendly staff, clean rooms, good restaurant in the lobby.
The hotel was amazing and had wonderful vegan options However, be careful when providing a credit card for incidentals. I had a $900 hold on my debit card for 4 days of a conference Very stressful .
Good rooms and good central location. A few minutes walks from the NASCAR wall of fame.
The Omni is always a pleasure to be in. Everything is clean and in it's place and the staff are kind and helpful. The beds are fabulous.
I stayed at Omni over the weekend; overall it was great till i realize my brand new rims has been scratch due too the valet. They did not utter a word about the damage. Never again!!!!
This hotel looked so beautiful in pictures. I was so excited to stay for my husband and I anniversary but it was very disappointing. The pictures don t do this place justice. When walking into the Omni hotel it s beautiful decor but then you enter the hallways to get to your room and the floors need to be vacuumed, the room needed to be vacuumed, our shower didn t even drain well, the toilet didn t flush good. And to top it off you can hear this loud banging noise around 11 o clock that doesn t seem to end until after 2. It s super close to the epicenter so be prepared to hear the loud noises coming from the place. It s not worth the price you pay to stay here so if I was you I d change your mind.
Hotel was undergoing renovations, so it wasn't as nice as expected. However, the furnishings and decor were outdated, so renovations are for the best. Staff were polite and helpful. It would have been helpful if hotel guests received a discount on overnight parking.
Staff are courteous and helpful. Room was excellent.
If you want a place to sleep, don t stay here. By far the worst noise I have ever heard in years of traveling around country. Louder than staying on Bourbon Street or on Vegas Strip. I never complain about anything. Worst hotel experience I have ever had.
First and foremost this is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are plush, the amenities are top notch and the location is prime! But what makes this hotel above and beyond anything in Charlotte is the staff. If you have Marlin to greet you when you arrive, his infectious smile will set a positive tone for your whole stay. Antoine with security is also top notch and goes above and beyond to help in any position where he is needed. Finally, Taylor with the management team is 100% the most poised and gracious individual I have ever encountered. She took a stressful situation and completely turned it around. If she is not a general manager, she should be! Thank you for a wonderful stay and experience. We will always book at the Omni any time that we return!
Nice new rooms, large TV, lots of space in the room.
While in Charlotte we were excited to stay at Omni Hotel we picked this hotel for a few different reasons here is what I found and what I d recommend if considering this hotel.
1. The room sizes seemed larger than average and were all updated - I found this to be true and also found that while updated the hotel was very recently completed and still in areas under construction. The first night we stayed there was a musky smell - and it was not pleasant the next night we moved floors and it was much improved. The smell did not seem to be from poor cleaning rather the construction we were told was a floor below.
2. Nice furniture does not = soft beds or great pillows. I love a nice hotel and when spending $400 a night you tend to not think it will be an issue but for me it was. I would have enjoyed better bedding. Was it awful no, would I stay there again maybe.
3. The room service. I love good room service and the food ordered here was delicious. We had a salad and appetizers that were wonderful there was so much food we couldn t even eat it all. This never happens with room service. The price was also fair and the service was quick.
4. Employees - All of the staff was friendly I found everyone to be kind and helpful.
Why four stars - it felt like it could have been so much more and just fell slightly short. Great decor ambiance, poor choice in bedding and pillows, while it was renovated not everything was updated. I understand budgets, but for the price I was surprised.
Would I go back - probably.
The hotel has made some beautiful renovations to the rooms, restaurant, bar, parking, etc.
I have been staying here for the past 10 or so years. The room renovations, although beautiful as well, have changed. I reserve the same rooms I have been reserving, but the rooms make up is different.
Changing the make-up, in cases I have experienced, have made the rooms slightly smaller. I really like spacious set ups. I am finding that I have to upgrade, when in the past the room was spacious, to achieve the comfort I am used to experiencing.
Beautiful rooftop pool area. Great access to nearby places. Outer rooms will not be as quiet as some may prefer as nearby bands can be heard until 2 am.
Friendly Staff, very clean Hotel and great amenities. Also love that everything is close to the Hotel
The staff and the Walgreen's(as well as various other shops) in the hotel make this place a real treat. I have to admit the decor is a bit dated and parts of the hotel look rundown..BUT they are revamping so I can't wait to see the finished product. This hotel is located in the heart of the Epicenter so if a quiet retreat is what you seek on the weekend this will not be the spot for you. Also, the walls are super thin so you can hear everything in the halls and next door to you. The bathrooms have no ventilation so every thing gets steamy and wet. But the staff..the staff make this place all worth it.Hopefully, once the renovation is done it will be alot better. All in all I give them a 4 for location, views, service/staff and cool vibe.
Centrally located to entertainment and food, loved the atmosphere and friendly staff
Very nice place to stay in downtown Charlotte. Right across from the epicenter
The room got downgraded, but we were compensated with 100 in room service. The staff was helpful and courteous, and the hotel itself was well kept and clean, however it is very apparent they want you to spend extra money on room services, because the rooms themselves do not come with microwaves or any conveniences to prepare your own food and the mini fridge, which is smaller than normal is already packed with unnecessary items..but the overall experience was more than satisfactory
Very courteous, clean and they make you feel right at home.
We ate at Essex for my brother's birthday. Love the ambience! Drink and food prices are fair for what it is. The acoustics made it a little loud so it was kind of hard to hear our waiter and everyone at the table sometimes, but we still had a good time over great food.
Great place. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Beautiful rooms and a great location. Wish I could have stayed longer!
Great location. Staff is very attentive, my room was clean and comfortable and the meeting rooms were good. They were doing some construction for upgrades, but worked with us to minimize disruptions.
It was under construction when I stayed with a friend.
Bathroom needed renovations. The shower head pipe was completely loose off of the wall mount.
Gorgeous room, exquisite bathroom, super comfy beds. I am in love with all if the amenities in the room. There's even a hand steamer. Staff is so friendly, too.
2.5 stars actually. Great service and stores, garbage beds and bedding. Overpriced.
Our room was poorly isolated. Neighbors could be heard. We stayed over the weekend and it was extremely noisy on streets, sirens and very load people. Also, the hotel was reconstructing which was very annoying. The mattress was too soft. Otherwise, the room itself was nice.
This hotel is in a great spot. You can walk to great resturants and shopping. There are however a couple of things that will make me not stay here again. Because it is in the middle of town near open air/roof top restaurants it is very noisy. Our last night was a Saturday night and the music was so.loud ftom the open air bar across the street that we weren't able to go to sleep until the music stopped at 2am. I am surprised there isn't an ordinance for a more suitable time. Also, the rooms are very dark. The bathroom light was terrible and I had to sit near the window to put on makeup. The walls are very thin also...we could hear the person next door talking on his phone.
This hotel is crazy. There is a Walgreens, Starbucks underneath this hotel. The staff here is awesome. Rooms are clean. Charlotte is a great city. I would love to check it out more.
Great location uptown, close to restaurant and nightspots. Excellent staff
Great experience, nice access to the mall. Clean areas throughout and excellent breakfast.
Amazing service and assistance. Rooms were comforting and water pressure in the shower was good.
Very nice, clean amd friendly. Only critique is that the bathrooms have an odd layout and the shower was difficult to get on and out of. If someone has mobility issues they should probably book over the phone and ask about accessible rooms. I would definitely stay again, and hope I get the opportunity.
I went to meet up with some friends, our first time there so we asked the bartender to recommend us some drinks, she did a great job! We will be going back soon
Beautiful room and view in Charlotte NC. Hotel is within walking distance from every thing including the Epicenter! Very enjoyable however valet parking is not included in the price of the hotel it's around 24$ for overnight parking. They did not tell us until after that we had the option of free self parking.
