I stayed at the Omni when in Charlotte for a concert. I was able to receive the room for a discounted rate from a popular hotel booking website. If I had paid full price for this room which would have been between $200-$300, I would be highly upset. The hotel building was nice and the staff was extremely friendly, but I was a little disappointed with the room. I'm not sure how it qualifies as a four star hotel. Perhaps because they offered 24hr room service. You can order breakfast by hanging a tag on your door requesting what items you would like and what time they should be delivered. There is also a mini bar, but the bottle of water was $6, so I didn't want to find out what they charged for that.
The bedding was nice clean and fresh, the toiletries were decent. They offered white robes, but I didn't use them. The room was a little cramped, and underwhelming. There was a fridge (The mini bar fridge was probably set at 60 degrees F), or microwave. There was a nice view of the city, and the curtains were great for blocking out the sun, but you could still hear the city noise. The room felt old popcorn 8ft ceilings, fake headboard mounted to the wall, small age-stained bathtub shower combo, the air vent rattled, and the ice machine near the elevator was very loud.
All that being said, I feel like the lobby and main floor were great. Very clean and open, lot of natural light. The main floor felt like being in an airport or mall. There were several restaurants, a pharmacy, a bank, and even a shoe repair shop. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I've stayed in far nicer hotel rooms with a lower star rating.
