The Seeb International Airport (MCT) in Oman is manageable and bright. However, it is annoying (especially considering the daytime and nightly dry heat) that there are no gangways to the aircraft, but only bus transfers.

The entire airport is spread over an area of 5,250 acres (21 km2). It originally featured one passenger terminal building, one runway as well as minor cargo and maintenance facilities and is currently undergoing a major extension and replacement consisting of a second runway, an entirely new passenger terminal and a new control tower. The new facilities underwent testing on December 2017 to positive results.

The facilities also includes a VIP terminal, and housing for airport staff as well as Oman Air employees. The Omani Royal Flight and Royal Air Force of Oman are based at the airport and the RAFO also shares its facilities with MCT.
The airport has a new and significantly larger state-of-the-art terminal located at the north of the existing terminal and first runway, opened on March 20, 2018. This new building initially brought the airport's capacity up to 20 million passengers a year upon completion of the first phase.Subsequent enlargements under second and third phases will increase the airport capacity to 24 and 48 million annual passengers respectively.[6] The terminal covers 580,000 sqm and features 118 check-in counters, 10 baggage reclaim belts, 82 immigration counters, 45 gates as well as a new ATC tower, 97 m high. The new terminal is located between the old and new runways and is capable of handling large aircraft such as Airbus A380s and Boeing 747s.

On 31 January 2018, it has been announced that the new terminal will be inaugurated on 20 March 2018 with all current operations to be relocated to the new facility.[8] The new terminal opened on the said date at 3:00 p.m. with the first flight, an Oman Air flight from Najaf, arriving at 6:30 p.m.

Beautiful messed up this airport, not very functional in logistics and often poor in indications, with fairly narrow spaces and not excellent cleaning. But the wifi is free and it works.

Airport is very sophisticated I would recommend everyone to try and travel on the way to have a free carrot rich products and workers deal with everyone iPod and I was there and will come back days God willing

Immigration, e-gates or officers totally not equipped to deal with Thursday passenger flow. Just as bad as old airport. They haven t learned anything from the past.

God is a beautiful place and smooth procedures and God preserves Oman and the leader of the two

Muscat International Airport is the best airport in the Middle East

To be honest, from the best airports to travel from.
The interior designs are beautiful, tidy, coordinating trips at a high international level, so that travelers travel on the upper floor and arrivals in the basement, the ease of services and the smoothness of its employees in dealing are excellent. What a barrier !

Moderate sized airport and easy to get around. You can negotiate the taxi fare (with the driver) from the airport to your destination at the arrival terminal... Don't board a metered taxi cos you will get a huge bill. Average fare is 10 rial

Most terrible airport in our experience. Young antd not very well experienced staff. Most of them didn't care about my family and my little one who had bleeding nose. We easily missed the flight because they didn't
pay attention to us at all. The only option they offered was to buy a new ticket which we had to find buy ourselves.
No one available to help.
Lack of visibility of signs and wrong flight info on board.
Don't recommend to pass by there.

Modern but very small airport. Its not suite for for long time transit since the transit facilities are kindy lack. The cafetaria is small, only 3 vendors, and always full with poeple. They also dont have place to sleep while waiting.

Great cafe/lounges with a hotel if you have a long layover you can rest well

But determining a specific time is open after which this is a problem because we have to be present at the airport for hours, especially with the postponement of some flights

A truly world class facility, well laid out with many tasteful decorative features. Easy to navigate and all staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. World's apart from the original terminal.

The new Muscat International Airport is really a piece of art.

Airport mlt beautiful, luxurious and modern, with free wi fi well working

Quality structure..but staff with improper behaviour...!

Airport is very beautiful and sophisticated and the most beautiful staff and staff ethics and deal well and cooperation and not strange to the people of Oman, the airport is very sophisticated and easy and cleanliness at the highest level and everything is available and close and have a transit will not face boredom and difficulty according to God and save all God Oman and its brotherly people.

It's an airport in the middle of nowhere. But again, you get free wifi so it's a semi-pleasant experience. Lots of outlets having a variety of food one can enjoy.

Not the biggest of the airports, but always the busiest. Ramp facilities for selected flights.

Very congusted in weekends..... otherwise world standard airport facilities..... self checkin is awesome. Saves lot of time.

Large areas .. As if you are in a mall ..

Small, older airport. Nothing like Dubai or Doha. No public shared transportation. Official airport taxi expensive. Wait for a city taxi to drop and take it. They have orange on the doors and are way cheaper. The staff is very friendly. Check in fast and fluid.

Amazing Airport.

Thoroughly Surprised by the detailing, the interiors, the amenities and services.

The plane was amazing as well. The business class seats were spectacular.

A very good runner up and value for money after the top 3 (Emirates, Qatar, Etihad)

Definitely worth going loyal with.

Their public Wifi is faster than the best of WiFi available in my country.

I was so impressed by the quality service and amazing layout. It is large but so easy to navigate

The airport is small but it's clean and well maintained. Stayed here for a few hours for my layover and it was easy to get around without the crowds.
Free WiFi but it's timed for 2 hours of access.
